We have not had these ingredients confirmed by an independent lab due to the fact that having reverse engineering done for each soap and every batch of soap we buy from the manufacturer would be far too cost prohibitive for our small company. Natures Garden does not manufacturer or label our melt and pour soap bases; our manufacturer does this. Our soap bases are manufactured in a facility that also manufactures melt and pour soap bases that contain propylene glycol. It is a possibility that our bases, whether listed on the label or not, contain propylene glycol. The process of making melt and pour soap is proprietary information that only the manufacturer knows. Our manufacturer is under no obligation to provide an ingredient listing for "soap", but he did so as a courtesy to our customers. As long as you do not make any claims besides these soap bases being "soap", you are not required to list the ingredients on your labels. I have tried the melt and pour soap bases from several companies. I have to give Natures Garden mad props on this one. It is by far my favorite mp soap base. I will be a customer for like because not only do I adore this melt and pour soap base, my customers love how it makes their skin feel. I can create a quality handmade soap that my clients love. If you haven't tried the yogurt soap base yet you are missing out.

A wonderful melt and pour soap base. My customers requested a yogurt soap and this has been a perfect addition to my soap line and my customers agree.

Mixed feelings about this base

Reviewer: from West Virginia

I purchased this based on the mostly good reviews. It is slimy and did not melt completely in the microwave. I switched to the double boiler and had better luck but it still didn't melt completely. I gave it four stars because it does take scent well and the bars are really hard. It doesn't lather a lot but it is a creamy lather. That was just the first batch and first try using it. I'm going to use the remainder and see if I get better results melting it. It sets up VERY fast.

Nice lather - customer favorite

5 YOGURT Melt and Pour Soap

Reviewer: from Alabama

This base has a nice lather and makes a hard bar. I add a bit of shea butter base to it for an extra moisture boost. When I first used it years ago it was hard to work with as others have said but I have learned if you take your time and melt on low heat or use a crock pot to melt this base works wonderfully. It sets up quickly but is NOT hard to work with at the right temperature. I have been selling it for years in soap bars and customers keep requesting it!

First Time...

4 YOGURT Melt and Pour Soap

Reviewer: from WV

This was my first time using this base. I heated it using a modified double boiler to control the heat better. A skin kept forming on the melted portion, so I kept stirring and turned the heat up some more. Based upon other reviewers I moved fast once it was off the heat and added my FO. While pouring it started getting clumpy, so what will be the bottom of the soap is not quite as smooth as I would've preferred, however, this base makes a nice soap. Next time I'll try a little bit higher heat.

Easy to use in the crock pot

Reviewer: from Hoover, AL US

I use a crock pot on low to melt my yogurt bases. I work fast because it will start setting up quickly on you but the finished look is a little like that of a cold process soap. I have had the same experience with trying to melt in the microwave that others have described. The crock pot works well for me. I have some customers who LOVE our soaps made with this base so I will continue to purchase it.

have patience

Move quickly because this soap will form a skin right out of the microwave. This particular soap is better to do in a double boiler. It does make nice soap though, and yogurt bases are less common

Not sure what happened

1 YOGURT Melt and Pour Soap

Reviewer: from CT US

I purchased this base last year and LOVED it! It was a dream to work with. I repurchased this same base recently and it was a nightmare to work with! As soon as it comes out of the microwave it forms a skin and clumps. It's also more drying even with added oils. I will not be purchasing this base again.

Not happy with this base

2 YOGURT Melt and Pour Soap

Reviewer: from Mason, MI US

I bought 8 lbs of this base based on reviews. I tried making some soaps with this and it is terrible! I can barely get it out of the microwave and stirred before a "skin" forms on it. This base also clumps up and gets thick. There is no time for you to work with it. I had to remelt the bars down that I made the first time since they did not turn out very well. It was the same way the second time. I am not happy with this base and hope the other bases are better and easier to work with. I give it two stars because if you can even get a nice bar, it does lather nice.
