It is important to us that we create and upload projects for people of all levels of expertise in the soap and candle making industries. Recipes like this one also work great for when you are running low on time to create or if you are looking for something fun to make with your children!

Ingredients Found at Natures Garden:

Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant
4 oz Clear PET Jars
White Straight Lid Smooth 58/400

Other Ingredients and Equipment You Will Need:

Powdered Sugar
Scale
Bowl
Mixing Spoon
Rubber Spatula
Hand Held Mixer
Deep Mixing Bowls

Total Recipe Weights:

454 grams Whipped Soap Base
250 grams Powdered Sugar
35 grams Pomegranate Fragrance Oil
15 drops Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant
2 drops Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant

Before we begin making this recipe, it is important to clean and sanitize your work area and all of your packaging materials that will be used. We also always want to make the suggestion that you wear gloves, protective clothing, and a hair net while preparing these homemade cosmetic recipes.

Ingredient Spotlight: Whipped Soap BaseIngredient Spotlight: Whipped Soap Base

To get started, we need to get our ingredients together and ready to be used. The main ingredient this recipe requires us to use is a whipped soap base. Our whipped soap base at Natures Garden is made from glycerin, sorbitol, stearic acid, and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate. SCI is a type of surfactant that is commonly added to skin care products because it leaves the skin feeling soft, hydrated, and moisturized. Our whipped soap base is a creamy, luscious product that can be very useful when making homemade projects in this industry. It is versatile and most often used to make body butters, shaving soap, bath frosting, and foaming sugar scrubs.

If you want to brighten up your whipped soap, adding soap coloring and/or Natures Garden body safe fragrance oils offer you that. There are some fragrance oils that may discolor your products, including whipped soap. Discoloration can usually be corrected by using vanilla white color stabilizer. Before choosing the fragrance oils you want to use, you will probably want to know whether or not your product will discolor, and by how much. We tested all of our fragrance oils in cold process soap and made a chart for the results, which you can check out.

Weighing Out the Whipped Soap BaseWeighing Out the Whipped Soap Base

Now that you know more about how our whipped soap base works, we can get started on our project of the day. First, you will need to get out some mixing bowls and a scale to accurately measure your ingredients. We always choose to use a digital scale when making recipes because we believe that it is the most accurate at weighing out the ingredients. With which ever type of scale that you prefer to use, weigh out 454 grams of the whipped soap base. Set it aside for now while we prepare the other three ingredients we are going to need.

Weigh Out the Powdered SugarWeigh Out the Powdered Sugar

Next, take out another mixing bowl. You are going to need to weigh out 250 grams of your powdered sugar. Any brand of powdered sugar will be fine to use in our recipes. Once you have measured out this ingredient, you can set it aside for the time being just as with the whipped soap base. We are going to be returning to it in a later step.

Add in the Pomegranate Fragrance OilAdd in the Pomegranate Fragrance Oil

For the next step, you will need to take out a small bowl. Place the bowl on your scale and measure out 35 grams of the Natures Garden Pomegranate Fragrance Oil. Then, add it into your whipped soap base. The pomegranate fragrance oil is one of our single note fragrances and it smells of delicious fresh, fruity pomegranate slices. This is one of the best selling fragrance oils that we carry at our company. Some of our other best sellers are Black Raspberry and Vanilla, Fresh Brewed Coffee – WORLDS BEST, and NG Aqua di Gio Type. On our website we have a complete list of our best sellers that you can check out.

FUN Soap Colorant Collection at Natures GardenFUN Soap Colorant Collection at Natures Garden

Natures Garden carries a multitude of colorants for soap. We use these in the majority of our recipes to make them bright, colorful, and beautiful. There are 20 shades of these listed on our website. Some of the ones we have are Jailhouse Red, Ultramarine Blue, and Neon Yellow. They are all made using glycerine, vegetable glycerin, and different pigments. No chemical preservatives have been added to our colorants, and they are also completely vegan. They are non-bleeding and do not morph during the saponification process in soap. The FUN Soap Colorants page goes into detail with each of the colorants that we carry. Each section gives the ingredients of the colorants, what each of them are typically used in.

Adding the Colorants InAdding the Colorants In

Now, it is time to add in the colorants! For this recipe, we need both the Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant and the Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant. Give the bottles a shake before opening them up because sometimes the pigment can separate from the vegetable glycerin.  Taking the bowl containing the whipped soap base, add 15 drops of the tomato red colorant. Stir your mixture. Then, add 2 drops of the neon pink colorant to the same bowl. Incorporate the colors thoroughly. The amount for the color suggestions we gave for this recipe were based on the color we wanted our product to be. We were looking for more of a medium pink color as opposed to a deep red for this. If you prefer your whipped soap to be a darker red or a light pink, however, simply manipulate the colors until it reaches the look that you want it to be.

Mixing All of It TogetherMixing All of It Together

At this time, you are going to need to get out your hand mixer. We just use a typical kitchen hand mixer when making recipes. Do not use a mixer that you need for cooking food. Make sure that you are only using a mixer that is specifically for cosmetic projects and will never again be used for cooking. Turn on your mixer and begin whipping the whipped soap base. Continue to mix the combination of the whipped soap base, pomegranate fragrance oil, and the FUN Soap Colorants until it reaches a point where it starts looking like whipped frosting.

Folding in the Powdered SugarFolding in the Powdered Sugar

After your mixture is combined completely, we can move on to our next step. You will need to grab the bowl that you have the powdered sugar in from step two. Pour and add the powdered sugar into the mixture. Using a rubber spatula, fully fold this dry powder portion into the wet whipped soap base.

Incorporating the MixtureIncorporating the Mixture

Keep folding in the powdered sugar until it is no longer visible. After you have done so, you will need to grab the hand mixer once again. We now need to repeat whipping the base as we did before, very thoroughly. In between mixing, use the spatula to clean the sides of the bowl as you feel it is necessary. Make sure all of your ingredients have been fully incorporated before you move on to the next step.

Get Your Mixture to a Frosting ConsistencyGet Your Mixture to a Frosting Consistency

Continue to mix everything with the hand mixer until it reaches a certain point. The texture is the most important part in this step. You can stop mixing your whipped soap once its appearance has reached a frosting like consistency. Allow your whipped soap mixture about five minutes, left alone, to fully set up.

Scoop the Whipped Soap into the JarsScoop the Whipped Soap into the Jars

After the whipped soap frosting has had enough time to set up, we have reached the final step! With your 4 oz. clear PET jars at the ready with their matching lids, we can finish our whipped soap off. Take out a mixing spoon and use it to scoop the foaming bath icing evenly into all seven of your jars. Then, finish your product off by screwing the white dome lids on each one of them. If you would like to use jars other than these clear PET ones, we also carry a 4 oz white double wall jar and a 4 oz black double wall jar

Your Pomegranate Whipped Soap is now ready to use, yay! We hope that you had fun creating this recipe with us today! If you want to share your results, thoughts, or questions with us, we can be reach on Facebook as the Natures Garden Company, on Twitter with the handle ngscents, and on Instagram with the handle ngscents as well. We are excited to see what you share!

Whipped Cupcake Soap RecipeWhipped Cupcake Soap Recipe

Another recipe of ours that uses our whipped soap base is the Whipped Cupcake Soap. This shows a different type of soap you can make with a whipped soap base. With this recipe, you can make up to four pounds of soap. The ingredients we used to make it include luscious cocoa butter, Daisy Type Fragrance Oil, whipped soap base, vegetable glycerin, and the Neon Pink FUN soap colorant. We made this soap using our square loaf mold, which gives it its shape. If you want to make your whipped cupcake soap even cuter, try adding some colorful sprinkles on top like you can see in our picture! This recipe is another super simple one to follow along with, and it shows what else you can do with the Natures Garden whipped soap base.

Homemade Pomegranate Recipes

The blog Hello Glow features an article about ways of Fighting Aging and Acne by giving four recipes that all use pomegranate in them. This particular page was written by Deborah Harju. The first recipe she mentions is a Pomegranate Clay Mask, made from bentonite clay and pomegranate juice. Next, she talks about a Pomegranate Repair Mask for Aging Skin that can boost your skin and protect your collagen. The third recipe is a Pomegranate Peel Scrub that has the ability to heal acne. Lastly, Deborah mentions a Pomegranate Body Scrub that will exfoliate and hydrate your skin. Pomegranate has beneficial properties to the skin, which she goes into detail in on her blog. Go and try it out if you are interested in trying these recipes!

We also want to share a fun festive pomegranate jello dessert that can be made for any occasion. You will need raspberry jello, water, raspberry pie filling, unsweetened crushed pineapple, a pomegranate, and bananas for this dessert. For the whipped topping, you will need heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. This dessert is absolutely delicious and is great to bring to anything!

First, you are going to need one of the medium mixing bowls to hold the white colorant for this soap. In this bowl you will need to add 7 grams of the Titanium Dioxide. You will be filling up your wholesale soap mold by pouring only into only two of the corners. These corners will need to be diagonal from one another. Then, you will need to choose two of your colors to start with to pour into the corners. You will need to pour one into each of the corners at the same time. Then, switch the bowls between your hands and pour these colors at the same time. Next, you will grab the two remaining colors, pour one into each corner, switch hands, and pour again. You will need to repeat this process until the mold is filled.

Spinning Your CP SoapSpinning Your CP Soap

As soon as you have your soap mold filled, you are going to spin the soap to create the design for this cp soap recipe. So, you will need to gently transfer the soap mold from the table and onto the lazy Susan. Then, you can begin to slowly spin the lazy Susan in a single direction. This spinning will begin to move your soap batter and create wavy lines. You will want to continue to swirl the soap until you feel that your design has enough swirl. Once you are satisfied with the design of your swirl soap, you can stop spinning the lazy Susan.

Finishing Your Spin Swirl Soap

Now, your cold process soap is nearly ready to use! All you have left to do is allow your soap the time to set up and cure. After 24-43 hours you can remove the soap from the cosmetic mold. Now you can slice your soap along the lines that were created from the soap mold. Then, you will need to let your soap rest for 4-6 weeks before using. 0.5 ounces Argan Oil
4 teaspoon Diamond Dust Mica Pigment
4 drops Blue Da Bomb Soap Dye
9 drops Red Da Bomb Soap Dye

Make a Few Preparations for the Soy Lotion Recipe

Before you begin creating your diy lotion, you will want to make a few preparations. First, you will need to gather and wash any equipment you are going to need to make this wholesale lotion recipe. Also, you will want to gather all of your lotion making equipment that will be needed for you to create this bath and body recipe. Next, you are going to want to clean up a space for you to use as a work area. You will want to clear off enough space for you to work comfortably.

Sanitizing The Water for Your Soy Lotion Recipe

If you don’t have distilled water, then you are going to need to prepare your water. You will need to boil your water to destroy any germs that may have been present. So, you will need to fill your pot with water and boil it. Also, be sure to add more than 48 ounces of water as some of the water will evaporate during this process. Having extra water will ensure that you have enough for this lotion recipe. Now, you will need to make sure your water reaches at least 185 degrees Fahrenheit. You can use your thermometer to make sure that your boiling water reaches this temperature. Then, you will need to keep your water at this temperature for at least five minutes. After waiting for this amount of time, your water will be ready to use. So, you can remove the water from the stove and weigh out the water for this lotion recipe.

Weighing and Cooling the Water For the Soy Lotion RecipeWeighing and Cooling the Water for the Soy Lotion Recipe

Now, you are ready to weigh out the water for this bath and body recipe. You will want to add this amount to a medium sized mixing bowl. So, you will need to measure out 48 ounces of the water. Before you can move on to the next step in the process, you will need to make sure that your water has cooled to about 100 degrees Fahrenheit. If you proceed with making your lotion too soon, you could ruin your homemade lotion recipe. Adding water that is still too hot can break down ingredients in the base itself.

Weigh Out the Wholesale Lotion Base For the Soy Lotion RecipeWeigh Out the Wholesale Lotion Base for the Soy Lotion Recipe

Next, you are going to weigh out the wholesale lotion base for the soy lotion recipe. This recipe is going to require the entire container of wholesale lotion base. So, you will need to weigh out 16 ounces of the Natural Soy Body Butter Lotion Base and add it to a mixing bowl.

The Wholesale Lotion Base For the Soy Lotion RecipeThe Wholesale Lotion Base for the Soy Lotion Recipe

This bath and body recipe includes a fantastic wholesale lotion base! Our Natural Soy Body Butter uses a variety of conditioning oils and other cosmetic ingredients that are perfect for skincare. This lotion base will yield stable emulsions with a light texture. Further, this lotion base shows a very good emolliency without any greasy after-feel as the conditioning properties sink down into the skin. As this base is fully saturated, it is not prone to rancidity. So, you can enjoy the convenience of using a lotion base as well as the beneficial skincare properties of a lotion that is made from scratch!

Adding the Cosmetic Colorant and Mica to the Soy Lotion RecipeAdding the Cosmetic Colorant to the Soy Lotion Recipe

Once you have added the lotion base in your mixing bowl, you are going to be adding the cosmetic colorants to your lotion recipe. So, you will need to add 4 drops of the Blue Da Bomb Soap Dye and 9 drops of the Red Da Bomb Soap Dye to your scented lotion recipe. Once these are added, you are ready for the next step in the process.

Adding Additional Cosmetic Ingredients to the Soy Lotion Recipe

Now, we are going to be adding some more ingredients to the soy body butter base. Since we are adding additional carrier oils to the lotion base, we are going to need to make sure we don’t add over 3% total oil based on the finished product weight. This maximum of added oils will make sure that your finished lotion is fully emulsified and that there are no excess oils that haven’t mixed in. So, you will be able to create a non greasy homemade lotion. For this homemade lotion recipe we are going to use just under 2% of the NG CanCan Type fragrance oil and 1% of the argan oil. You can find the exact amounts of each that were included in the steps below.

Scenting Your Soy Lotion RecipeScenting Your Soy Lotion Recipe

Now, you are going to be using a rate of 2% to scent your lotion recipe. So, you will need to weigh out 1.25 ounces of the NG CanCan Type Fragrance Oil. This scented oil has an aroma of fresh mandarin that is balanced with hints of apple peel to open up this feminine fragrance. At the heart of this scent, jasmine, violet and lily form a floral accord that balances notes of woodland fern and hints of berry. Further, the scent ends on a blended base of sensual cashmere musk, golden amber and vanilla bean creates a romantic sweetness that surrounds the floral notes. This fragrance is perfect for making long-lasting scented lotion that is absolutely irresistible!

Adding the Argan Oil to the Soy Lotion RecipeAdding the Argan Oil to the Soy Lotion Recipe

Next, you are going to be using the 1% rate to add the argan oil to your mixture. This will provide some additional conditioning properties to your finished product. So, you are going to add 0.5 ounces of the Argan Oil to your lotion mixture. After adding this cosmetic oil, you can use your stick blender to mix everything together. This wholesale cosmetic oil is easily absorbed into the skin and is fantastic for making quality skincare recipes. Further, this lotion making ingredient allows the skin to breathe and is in many anti-acne formulations. So, this is a great cosmetic oil for your skincare products!

Combine All of the Soy Lotion Recipe IngredientsCombine All of the Soy Lotion Recipe Ingredients

Now, you are going to need to thoroughly mix all of these ingredients together. You are going to need to use a stick blender to combine all of these ingredients thoroughly. As your mixture continues to cool, it will thicken up on its own. Once you have fully mixed in all of these wholesale cosmetic ingredients, you are ready to add the last ingredient.

Adding the Mica Powder to the Soy Lotion RecipeAdding the Mica Powder to the Soy Lotion Recipe

Lastly, you are going to add in some shimmery powdered mica. So, you are going to want to include 4 teaspoons of the Diamond Dust Mica Pigment in your lotion mixture. Now that everything has been mixed together well, you will need to let your lotion cool down to room temperature. So, you can leave your lotion recipe in the mixing bowl for the moment.

Fill the Bottles For Your Soy Lotion Recipe Fill the Bottles For Your Soy Lotion Recipe

Once your homemade hand lotion has cooled to about room temperature, you are ready to fill your lotion bottles. So, you are going to need to set out about six of the 8 ounce clear bottles on your work space. You will be adding your thickened lotion to your wholesale lotion bottles. We suggest that you either use a funnel or a Ziplock bag to add your scented lotion to the containers. If you use a Ziplock bag, you will need to cut a hole in the corner to act as a spout for adding the lotion to the bottle. After you have used all of the lotion to fill your bottles, you can secure the white disc lids to top of each bottle.

Decorate The Bottles For the Soy Lotion Recipe Decorate The Bottles For the Soy Lotion Recipe

Now that all of your lotion bottles are filled, you are ready to move on to decorating your containers! So, you are going to need your hot glue gun, bling ribbon, and rhinestone. You are going to need to cut a piece of the ribbon that is the diameter of the bottle. So, you will be able to wrap this ribbon around the center of the bottle. Then, you will need to use a hot glue gun to secure the ribbon in place. After the ribbon is in place, you are going to adhere the pink acrylic rhinestone to the center of the ribbon where you had previously glued the ends down. Now, you will want to add this decoration to each of your filled lotion bottles.

Using the Finished Soy Lotion Recipe

Finally, you are ready to use your completed lotion recipe. Of course, you can use your homemade lotion right away to nourish and care for your skin. Also, you can store your finished homemade lotion that isn’t greasy for later or even use this scented lotion in your body care business. No matter how you choose to use your easy homemade lotion, you will be sure to love the skincare properties that it will provide for you!

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Clean and Sanitize

If you take just a few preventative steps it will help things move along smoothly! You should always prep your supplies and work area before beginning your craft recipes. This helps in creating your homemade recipe without needing to stop right in the middle to look for your ingredients. First, you will want to clean your work space to ensure that you have enough room to work. Next, give your utensils and scale a quick rinse with some soap and water. Lastly, have all your ingredients ready for measuring and within easy reach! For sanitary reasons go ahead and put your rubber safety gloves on. Now, you are ready to make this lovely bubble bar recipe!

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Create a Double Boiler

Before you start weighing out your cosmetic oils you are going to want to create the double boiler. While you will still need to stir, the double boiler will be useful for saving your cosmetic oils from scorching. To create a double boiler you will need two pots where one will fit into the other. In the larger pot, you will add the water, which will be heated on the stovetop. Next, place your smaller pot into the pot with water. Now, you will want to heat your water. As long as the water doesn’t boil over into the smaller pot, you are ready to add your cosmetic ingredients to melt.

6 grams of the White Kaolin Clay Powder

2 drops of the Yellow Oxide FUN Soap Colorant
3 drops of the Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Preparing the Dry Ingredients

First, you are going to prepare your dry ingredients for this cosmetic recipe. You will need to add 226 grams of the Baking Soda, 145 grams of the Corn Starch, 6 grams of the White Kaolin Clay Powder, and 10 grams of the Xanthan Gum to your mixing bowl. Also, you will add 229 grams of the Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate to the bowl, too. This bubble bar cosmetic is an slsa substitute for bath bombs and bubble bars. You will want to use your hands, with latex gloves, to break up any clumps that may be left in these powders. Once this mixture is free of clumps, you can set this bowl to the side for now.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Heating the Oils and Butters

Next, you are going to want to use the double boiler that you have created. You will need to add 70 grams of the Shea Butter, 30 grams of the Mango Butter, and 9 grams of the Avocado Oil to the smaller pot of your double boiler. While the double boiler will help prevent these natural oils from scorching, you still need to stir occasionally to melt everything. Once all of these cosmetic ingredients have melted, you are ready to turn off the stove and move on to the next step in the process.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Mix Everything TogetherDreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Mix Everything Together

Now you are ready to mix the melted cosmetic oils and the dry mixture together. So, retrieve your mixing bowl of the dry cosmetic ingredients. You will be adding the melted oils and butters to this bowl. You will want to use your gloved hands to mix these wholesale cosmetic ingredients together very well. Also, you will want to include 29 grams of the Vegetable Glycerin and 1 teaspoon Diamond Dust Mica. Then, you will need to continue to mix these bath and body ingredients until everything is incorporated into an even, dough-like consistency.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Adding the Dreama Fragrance OilDreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Adding the Dreama Fragrance Oil

Also, you will want to add the scent to your bubble bar batter. You will need to add 23 grams of the Dreama Fragrance Oil to a separate small bowl. When you are ready to mix in this scented oil, pour the fragrance into your bubble bar mixture. You will need to use your gloved hands to thoroughly mix this floral aroma into your dough.

You are going to love this scented oil in your slsa free bubble bar recipe! The Dreama Fragrance Oil begins with lovely notes of oakmoss and lilies. These notes are followed by middle notes of ylang ylang and jasmine and bottom notes of amber, musk, and sandalwood.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Separating the Bubble Bar

Next, you are going to want to separate your bubble bar mixture into three separate portions. But, these three portions won’t be equal. One portion will become the base of your homemade bubble bar and will use the most. A second portion will be the petals of the flower on top of the bubble bar. The last portion will be the smallest portion that is used for the middle of the bubble bar flower.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Preparing the PetalsDreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Preparing the Petals

Now, you are going to remove some of the bubble bar mixture to use for the petals of the flower later on. So, you will need to take 200 grams of the overall mixture and put it in a new mixing bowl. This portion will remain uncolored to be the white petals of the flower. You can set this bowl aside for now to use in a later step.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Preparing the Yellow CenterDreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Preparing the Yellow Center

Next, you are going to take a bit more from the bubble bar mixture to prepare the yellow center of the flower. So, you will need to remove 29 grams of the batter and add it to a new mixing bowl. You will need to add 3 drops of the Neon Yellow FUN Soap Colorant and 2 drops of the Yellow Oxide FUN Soap Colorant to your bowl. You will need to use your gloved hands to mix the color into the batter thoroughly.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Preparing the Green BaseDreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Preparing the Green Base

You will need 260 grams of the bubble bar dough to create the base of your finished bath and body recipe. This bubble bar portion will be colored with 3 drops of the Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant and 2 drops of the Kelly Green FUN Soap Colorant. You will need to use your clean, gloved hands to mix the color into the batter thoroughly.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Filling the Cosmetic MoldDreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Filling the Cosmetic Mold

Now that your green portion is ready to use, you are going to use it to fill the base of your bubble bar. So, you will need to get the 6 Cavity Muffin Silicone Soap Mold. Then, you will use your gloved hands to pack the cavities in the mold until you use all of the dough. This green portion will allow you to make about five bubble bars in total. Once you have used all of your green mixture, you are ready to move on to the next step in the process.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Creating the Flower CenterDreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Creating the Flower Center

Next, you are going to start creating the flower portion for these bath and body creations. First, you need to create the center of the flower.  You will want to grab the yellow portion that you had prepared in a previous step. Now, grab a small piece of this portion and roll it into a ball shape. Then, you will want to press your yellow ball into the center of each green base. This will act as the center of each flower. Of course, the green base will still be in the mold as it has not set up yet.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Start Making the PetalsDreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Start Making the Petals

After adding the center of the flower to you mold, you are ready to start creating the petals. So, you will want to pinch off an amount between 7 grams and 8 grams of your uncolored portion. Use your fingers to roll your dough into a thick petal shape. Also, you will want your petal to look similar to the picture shown to the left. You will need to create 25 petals in total, which will end up being five petals for each flower.

Dreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Finish Making the FlowerDreama Bubble Bar Recipe: Finish Making the Flower

You will need to use the petals you made to finish up the flower. Since you will need to have five for each flower, you will want to space out the petals right. For each petal you will want to start by setting it in place. Then, press it down using more pressure on the area of the petal that is closest to the outer edge and light pressure near the yellow center.  You will want to repeat this process for each of the petals.

Using Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Creating the Lye Solution for the Milk SoapUsing Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Creating Frozen Milk Soap

In order to begin making soap you are going to want to prepare the milk for your cp soap recipe. So, you will want to weigh out the powdered milk and the distilled water to create the milk solution. You will need to use eight ounces of the water and one ounce of the powdered milk. You will want to mix these ingredients together well to create the powdered milk solution.

Using Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Creating Frozen Yogurt Soap

Alternatively, you can create this soap making recipe using powdered yogurt instead of the powdered milk. Of course, the yogurt will provide your skin with all kinds of benefits. The powdered yogurt is just another great soap making ingredient that you can include. So, you are going to want to prepare the yogurt solution, which includes eight ounces of the water and one ounce of the powdered yogurt. You will create the homemade soap in the exact same way.

Using Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Freezing the Milk SolutionUsing Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Freezing the Milk or Yogurt Solution

Now that you have created either a milk solution or yogurt solution, you are going to need to fill up your mold. You can use an ice cube tray or even a small soap mold. We decided to use the 24 hearts silicone mold. After you have filled up your chosen mold for the buttermilk solution mixture, you will want to transfer your soap mold to the freezer. You will need to wait for your milk solution to completely freeze before moving on to the next step. So, make sure that you have solid, frozen pieces before moving onto the next step.

Now, you are going to want to weigh out all of your cosmetic oils.  You will want to add 26 grams of Apricot Kernel Oil, 49 grams of Shea Butter, 14 grams of Castor Oil, 63 grams of Sunflower Oil, 53 grams of Mango Butter, 57 grams of Palm Oil, and 113 grams of Coconut Oil. Then, you will want to completely melt your cosmetic ingredients. After melting these ingredients you will want to wait for your melted oils to room temperature.

Using Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Mixing Up the Lye Solution

Next, once the temperature of your oils has dropped to room temperature, you are ready to prepare your lye solution.  For this cp soap recipe, we will want to soap at the lowest temperature possible. So, we will prepare our lye solution and soap right away to keep the temperature as low as possible. Soaping at a low temperature will prevent the milk from overheating and creating an unpleasant smell.

Using Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Mixing Your Frozen Milk and Lye Together

Once your buttermilk or yogurt has completely frozen, you can remove it from the mold. Now, you will want to measure out 144 grams of your frozen yogurt or buttermilk. Also, you will need to weigh out 53 grams of the lye in a separate bowl. You are going to want to mix up your lye solution in a well ventilated area. Of course, you will want to make sure that you wear a face mask and protective clothing. Now, you are able to add the measured amount of lye to the frozen milk. Make sure that you stir your mixture as you are adding the lye.

Using Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Creating the Lye SolutionUsing Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Continue Creating the Lye Solution

As you continue to mix the lye the frozen buttermilk or yogurt, you will notice that it will begin to melt. Since this mixture will include milk, we don’t want the temperature to reach levels that will create a sour smell. This is why we needed to freeze the milk prior to creating your lye solution. So, you will notice that your lye solution does not reach a temperature that is too high. This will allow you to add powdered yogurts or milks to your soap while maintaining the integrity and quality of each bar.

Using Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Combining the Lye Solution and Cosmetic OilsUsing Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Combining the Lye Solution and Cosmetic Oils

Now, combine your soaping oils and lye solution. After combining these two mixtures of soap making ingredients, you will need to blend all of these soaping ingredients together. You will want to use a stick blender to do this. Once you hit trace for your soap batter, you are ready to move on to the next step of the soap making process. This means that you are ready to pour your soap into the mold.

Using Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Filling Up the Soap MoldUsing Yogurt and Powdered Milk in Soap Making: Filling Up the Soap Mold

Now that all of your soap making ingredients are mixed together, you are ready to fill the soap mold! Once you have used all of your soap batter to fill up your soap mold, you will want to place the soap in the freezer for about 24 hours.  This way the temperature of the soap batter will remain low.  Finally, remove the soap from the soap mold. Then, you are going to want to wait for your soaps to cure before using your finished bars of soap.
