Our natural vitamin E oil (tocopherol T-50) Is the purest form of natural vitamin E available. This plant-based source of vitamin E is not the same as tocopherol acetate found in many vitamin E capsules. Vitamin E is required in most cosmetic formulations in very small amounts to prevent oils from oxidizing. When you add vitamin E to your formulations, you'll prevent oils from oxidizing, which will help you avoid a rancid smell. Our vitamin E oil is also heat stable and should be added during the oil phase of your recipes. It's a popular myth that antioxidants can be used instead of preservatives in recipes that require a preservative.
