Other Ingredients & Equipment You'll Need:
Mixing Bowls
Measuring Cup
Water
Dishcloth
Parchment Paper (or baking mat)
Ribbon
Pot
Pinecone and Berries Pick
Christmas Tree Cookie Cutter
Toothpick
Hot Glue Gun and Stick

Step 1:  Begin by heating 1 ½ cup of water in 6our pot.  Also, add 2 cups of baking soda and 1 cup of cornstarch and stir.

Step 2:  Over low to medium heat, allow the mixture to heat while stirring constantly.  Continue to stir until the mixture thickens.

Step 3:  Once the mixture has thickened to a mashed potato consistency, remove it from the heat and add 15 drops of the Balsam and Cedar Fragrance Oil.  Mix.  Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes.

Step 4:  While the dough is still warm, not hot.  Roll the dough into a ball.  Place the ball of dough into a damp dishcloth.  Allow the dough to finish cooling.

Step 5:  Once the dough finishes cooling, you will need to roll it out.  Sprinkle both the rolling pin and parchment paper with baking soda. Then, place the dough in the center. Roll it to about ¼” thickness.

Step 6:  Use the cookie cutter to create trees.  We were able to create 3 Christmas trees. However, the number you create will depend on the size of your cookie cutter.

Step 7:  Next, place a hole in the top of each tree using a toothpick.  This will allow you to thread the ribbon through the hole.

Step 8:  Now, allow the ornaments to harden. You want them to harden as slowly as possible to prevent cracking. We let ours set overnight. Then, flipped them over to finish drying on the other side.

Step 9:  Finally, add a ribbon to each ornament and a pinecone and berries to each ribbon using hot glue.

We hope that you enjoy your scented ornaments!
