Vamp Vogue Fragrance OilVamp Vogue Fragrance Oil

Before we begin, let’s take a look at the fragrance oil we will be using.  This soap making project will use Vamp Vogue Fragrance Oil from Natures Garden Soap Making Supplies. This Halloween fragrance oil by Natures Garden is a sexy, gothic statement. It starts with top notes of Blood Orange, Ruby Red Grapefruit, and Mandarin.  Then, it the citrus notes are followed by middle notes of Geranium, Bourbon, Oak Moss, and Dark Patchouli.  Finally, these notes are sitting on notes of Black Amber, Sandal Tree, Cashmere, and Musk. Vamp Vogue Fragrance Oil is an NG original scent!

First, you will need to make the red portion of the vampire teeth.  In order to create the teeth, you will need 24 grams red play dough soap. To color our soap dough, we used 30 drops of the tomato red soap colorant.  Below, you will find the ingredients and amounts for this recipe as well as step by step instructions.  You will need about 3 grams of the soap dough for each set of vampire teeth.  For our Vampire Melt and Pour Soap Recipe, we will need 8 sets of vampire teeth.  So, you will need a total of 24 grams of the soap dough.  However, this recipe makes about 9 ounces of soap dough.  So, you will have extra soap dough for later use.

103 grams Arrowroot Powder
24 grams Vegetable Glycerin
112 grams Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base
14 grams Fractionated Coconut Oil
13 grams Vamp Vogue Fragrance Oil
13 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer
3 grams Optiphen Preservative
30 drops Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant

Prepare the Soap Dough

Create the Arrowroot PasteCreate the Arrowroot Paste

So, in a small mixing bowl, weigh out 24 grams of Vegetable Glycerin and 21 grams Arrowroot Powder.  Then, blend these two ingredients with a fork to make a paste.  You can set this portion aside for the moment, we will come back to it.

Melt the Soap Base

Next, you will need to melt your soap base. So, you will need to first cut your soap base.  Then, in your microwave safe container, weigh out and melt 112 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base from Natures Garden.  Then, heat the soap in the microwave 30 seconds at a time. stir gently between each 30-second burst.  Keep melting until all soap base is in a liquid state.

Add the Vamp Vogue Fragrance OilAdd the Vamp Vogue Fragrance Oil

Once all the  diamond clear soap base is melted, add 14 grams Fractionated Coconut Oil, 13 grams of the Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and 13 grams Natures Garden’s Vamp Vogue Fragrance Oil.  Stir until all of the ingredients are blended together.  Then, add your paste mixture that you set aside to the melted clear soap mixture and stir thoroughly.

Add the Soap ColorantAdd the Soap Colorant

At this time, you will need to add your soap colorant.  We used 30 drops of the tomato red FUN Soap Colorant.  Mix well. Lastly, you will need to add the Optiphen. So, place your thermometer in the mixture and wait for the correct temperature.  Optiphen should be added to your mixture around 120F.  When your mixture is at this temperature, add 3 grams of the Optiphen.  Then, mix thoroughly.

Add Arrowroot PowderAdd Arrowroot Powder

Now, weigh out 80 grams of the Arrowroot Powder.  You will want to slowly add this ingredient, working it in with a fork.  So, add some of the arrowroot powder and blend it into the mixture.  Then, add a bit more.  Repeat this process until you have added all of the arrowroot powder.  As you add the powder the mixture will thicken.

Completing the Soap Play DoughCompleting the Soap Play Dough

Next, you will need to lay out a piece of wax paper.  Then, you will need an additional 2 grams of arrowroot powder.  This will be used to coat your hands as you work with the dough.  It will prevent the dough from sticking to your hands.  Coat your hands with the arrowroot powder and place the soap dough on your wax paper. Begin kneading your dough until you are able to roll it into a ball.  Then, roll your dough into a ball and allow set out 20 minutes. Finally, the soap play dough soap is ready to use.  Pull about 24 grams from the ball to use for your vampire teeth.  The remaining dough can be stored in a Ziploc bag for later use.

Using the Red Soap DoughUsing the Red Soap Dough

Next, you will need to fill each cavity of the vampire teeth mold using the red soap dough.  You will fill only the gum portion of the mold with the red soap putty.  If needed, use a cotton swab to clean the teeth area and remove any red soap dough that may have gotten into this part of the mold.

Prepare the White Melt and Pour Soap

In order to finish creating the vampire teeth, you will need to create the white mp soap portion of the teeth.  So, weigh out and melt 136 grams of the hemp oil melt and pour soap. Once melted, add 6 grams of Vamp Vogue Fragrance Oil and 6 grams of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Then, stir and pour the melted soap into each cavity of the vampire teeth mold. Lastly, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles. Let the teeth to fully setup before removing them from the mold.

Prepare the White Soap for the Loaf PortionPrepare the White Soap for the Loaf Portion

Prepare the white portion of the soap loaf. You will need to weigh out and melt 870 grams of the hemp oil soap base.  Once melted, add 43 grams of the Vamp Vogue Fragrance Oil. In addition, add 43 grams of the Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Stir to blend the ingredients together. Then, pour the melted soap into your two pound soap mold. Finally, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles. Be sure to allow the soap to setup completely before moving on.  Note:  If you are using the silicone 4 loaf mold, you will need to divide the soap equally between two of the cavities in the mold.

Prepare the Red Melt and Pour Soap

Prepare the Red Soap Loaf LayerPrepare the Red Soap Loaf Layer

Now, we will prepare the red layer of soap. So, melt 200 grams of the Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base.  Once melted, add 10 grams of the Vamp Vogue Fragrance Oil from Natures Garden, 10 grams of the Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and 6 drops of the Tomato Red FUN Soap.  Finally, spray the white soap that is in the soap mold with rubbing alcohol. Finally, pour the red soap directly on top of it.  Spray the red soap with rubbing alcohol.

Insert the Vampire TeethInsert the Vampire Teeth

Finally, we will begin placing the teeth in the soap loaf.  For this step, timing is extremely important.  You will want your red layer of soap to begin to setting up.  However, you do not want it to completely setup. It should have a somewhat thick film formed but should still be soft and will have a somewhat rubbery feel to it.  This is important because you need the soap to be soft enough that you can still press the fangs of the teeth into the soap loaf.  However, it needs to be hard enough that the teeth will stay standing. So, once the soap is ready, spray the red soap with rubbing alcohol. Then, gently press the teeth into the soap mold. Make sure that your place the teeth evenly throughout the soap mold.  Allow the soap to finish setting up before moving to the next step.

Cut the Soap LoafCut the Soap Loaf

Allow your soap loaf to completely setup.  Remove the soap from the mold.  Then, use the mitre box and mitre box cutter to slice your soap into eight bars.

Adding the Red Soap DripsAdding the Red Soap Drips

Our last step will be dripping the white soap with red soap to give it a dripping blood look.  So, we will drip bar of soap with red melt and pour soap.  Place each bar of soap on a piece of wax paper.  Then, you will need to melt 30 grams of Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Then, add 1 gram of the Vamp Vogue Fragrance Oil and 1 gram Vanilla White Color Stabilizer. In addition, add 3 drops of the Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant and stir.  Next, using a disposable pipette, drip red soap vertically down the white soap. You want to give the soap the appearance of blood dripping from the teeth punctures. Once you have dripped each bar of soap with the red soap, allow the soap to finish setting up.  When your soap is done setting up, it is ready to use!
