Five Bath Salt RecipesFive Bath Salt Recipes

We are excited to be sharing five new bath salt recipes with you all today! Each of these bath salts use only a few ingredients and they have very simple steps to follow along with. These are a fun way to incorporate natural flowers, herbs, and powders into your handcrafted recipes. The herbal ingredients we chose to use contain a lot of benefits and are sure to soothe you and your skin during bath time. We also use these herbs from Natures Garden to make massage oil, bath melts, and sugar scrubs. Many other recipes use our powders as well, including facial masks, bath bombs, and cold process soap. You can also check out some of our soap making recipes to make your own soaps too. Now we can get started on making these five bath salt recipes!

The Benefits of Using a Bath Salt Recipe

If you have never used a bath salt before in your bath, then we will give you benefits that bath salts can provide to you. There are many natural minerals that are used in bath salts, and one of the benefits that you can get from using these is to draw out impurities from your skin. Also, if you are always working in outdoor environments, there are certain bath salts that you can make that will draw out different toxins, oil, and dirt from your skin. This will leave you with a sense of always feeling squeaky clean after every use. If you also have issues with blood circulation and are always feeling drained, then some bath salts can help circulate blood through your body.

Different Herbs that you Can Use in Your Bath Salt Recipe

Your options aren’t limited when it comes to the number of different herbs that you can use with your bath salts. Each herb contains its own share of benefits, and there are many available for you to use. One of the more popular herbs that you can use in your bath salts is lavender. Lavender, when used in bath salts, has been known to remove nervous tension, and relax the user. Another herb that can be used is rose petals. Rose petals have a natural oil that is secreted in warm water that keeps skin moisturized, soft, and glowing. There are many other herbs you can use and try to experiment with to create your own bath bomb recipe!

Pink Salt Bubble Bath RecipePink Salt Bubble Bath Recipe

This first recipe that will be showing you is meant to keep your skin feeling smooth and silky after taking a bath. The pink salt bubble bath recipe is wonderful. They only take a few ingredients, which have great benefits for the skin. To make this bath salt recipe, you will need to get the following ingredients, which can be found on the Natures Garden website:

  1. Himalayan Pink Salt Coarse Ground
  2. Epsom Salt
  3. Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate- SLSA
  4. Hyacinth Fragrance Oil
  5. 8 oz. Clear PET JAR
  6. White Straight Smooth Lid 70/400

Himalayan pink salt is known for its purity and for having so many minerals. There are also a lot of medical benefits believed to be associated with this salt. In this industry, it is commonly added to facial scrubs, salt scrubs, and bath bombs, such as with our Sangria Shimmer Bath Bomb. SLSA is a natural surfactant that provides plenty of foam and lather to cosmetic products, which are simply the perfect qualities to have for any bath. This pink salt bubble bath recipe is layered with one portion of Himalayan salt and the other portion a mix of Epsom salt and SLSA, each scented with Hyacinth fragrance oil.

Lavender and Rose Bath Salts RecipeLavender and Rose Bath Salts Recipe

Our next recipe is this beautiful bath salts floral combination. It brings together roses, lavender flowers, as well as elderflowers. These are just some of the herbs sold by Natures Garden.

  1. Epsom Salt
  2. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate- SCI
  3. Rose Buds & Petals Red
  4. Lavender Flowers Whole Select
  5. Elder Flowers Whole
  6. Mica- DIAMOND DUST Pigment 1 oz
  7. Chance of a Lifetime Fragrance Oil
  8. Fillable Teabags

One of the main components of the floral bath salts recipe is roses. Roses are used all of the time in cosmetic products, soap, lotion, potpourri, and even in lip balms. They are so widely used since they are thought to induce relaxation, as well as for having anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. We mentioned fillable teabags in the ingredients because of the flowers in these bath salts. Some people prefer to use a teabag with recipes like this in order to avoid herbs going down their drain. This is optional and is completely up to your personal preference. Another unique feature about this bath salt recipe is that it also uses whole lavender flowers. As mentioned above, lavender flowers can be used to reduce anxiety and induce a calming sensation for you. So, if you are ever stressed, then this bath salt recipe is perfect for soothing your mind.

Chamomile Bath Salts RecipeChamomile Bath Salts Recipe

1. Dead Sea Salt High Minerals Course Ground
2. Vanilla POWDER
3. Cashmere Type Fragrance Oil
4. Da BOMB Soap Dye- YELLOW 1 oz.
5. Chamomile Flowers German Whole
6. Calendula Flowers- Whole
7. Fillable Tea Bags with Pull Strings

Next, let’s look at the relaxing bath salts recipe. The Da BOMB soap dyes at Natures Garden perform phenomenally. They are water soluble liquid dyes that are safe to be used to color soap, slime, smelly jellies, as well as some bath products. For now, we sell these in blue, red, and yellow, which could also be mixed together to form additional colors. Once again, you can use a fillable tea bag to put the chamomile and calendula flowers so they do not go down your drain. An amazing benefit of using chamomile flowers in your bath salt is that it contains many great antioxidants. These antioxidants will help with protecting your skin from any external free radicals. Also, the chamomile will help you to relax when in the bathtub if you’ve had a rough day.

Witching Hour FragranceWitching Hour Fragrance Oil – Fragrance Oil Spotlight

The “witching hour” commonly refers to the time of night when witches and other supernatural beings are believed to be at their most powerful. In medieval times, it was believed that any woman out after midnight without a ‘legitimate reason’ to be out could have been suspected of witchcraft. In more modern times, the witching hour refers to the last hour of stock trading between 3pm and 4pm which sees a high amount of activity. Not as exciting as magic and ghosts and ghouls. Witching Hour Fragrance Oil from Natures Garden is perfect for your fall bath and body recipes

What Does Witching Hour Fragrance Oil Smell Like?

A fun Halloween fragrance composed of spicy, magical notes:  this accord begins with freshly ground cinnamon bark, and complemented with herbal notes of bergamot, cannabis flower, jasmine, and rose;  and sits on earthy base notes of sheer musk, black tea, and patchouli.

How Do Our Customers Use Witching Hour Fragrance Oil in Room Scenting Recipes?

Candles! This spooky scent performs perfectly in Joy wax and WOW wax and is nice and strong in soy wax. It is not gel wax compatible. The maximum recommended usage percentage for this fun fall fragrance in vegetable waxes and paraffin wax is 10%. Our coloring suggestions for candles are to use 6 drops of purple liquid candle dye per 4 pounds of wax or shred an ample amount of purple color block into your melted wax. Never color your candles with crayons; it will clog the wick.

Room scents! This complex accord comes across nice and strong in aroma beads and its maximum recommended usage percentage in incense and potpourri is 50%. (Try a reed sticks for easy room scenting!)

How Do Our Customers Use Witching Hour Fragrance Oil in Bath and Body Recipes?

Soaps! The maximum recommended usage percentage for this Halloween aroma in bath oils, bath gels, and soap is 1%. Our cold process soap testing found that this fragrance performed perfectly in CP soap. It showed no acceleration, no ricing, no separation, no discoloration, and good scent retention. Our coloring suggestions for bath and body products are to use purple soap colorant in the amount that satisfies you. Never color your bath and body products with candle dye or they will end up coloring you! Now is the time where I’d normally recommend using natural soap colorant but, unfortunately, natural purple soap colorants are hard to find. You could try using activated charcoal powder to dye your soap black (or gray depending on how much you use). Activated charcoal is also a detoxifying agent and a natural odor absorber!

Body products (outside of the bath)! This magical scent performs perfectly in perfumes and its maximum recommended usage percentage in lotions and body sprays is 0.5%.

Cleaning products! The maximum recommended usage percentage for this fall fragrance in cleaning products is 1%.

Check out our Unscented Bases for an easy way to create the array of products listed above using this special scent- just be sure to not to exceed maximum recommended usage percentages!

Beverly Hills Glam FragranceBeverly Hills Glam Fragrance Oil – Fragrance Oil Spotlight

Beverly Hills Glam Fragrance Oil by Natures Garden definitely brings the glam of Beverly Hills to you!  But, what makes Beverly Hills so glamorous with such humble beginnings?  In 1900, Burton Green, Oilman and real estate, along with several other partners, purchased the land for the Amalgamated Oil Company.  In 1906, after drilling many unsuccessful wells, they decided to revamp as Rodeo Land and Water Company.  The land was renamed  Beverly Hills by Green and his wife after Beverly Farms, Massachusetts.  Green reached out to the landscape architect Wilbur D. Cook who had been influenced by landscape designer, Frederick Law Olmstead who is known for creating the wide curving streets that hugged the vast hills.  Rodeo, Canon, Crescent, Carmelita, Elevado and Lomitas which were constructed in 1907 were the City’s first streets.  Cook was also the creator of what would later be known as the emerald necklace of his garden city, which included a three-block greensward called Santa Monica Park.  Five years later in 1912, the Beverly Hills Hotel was constructed.  The hotel became the center of community life, serving as theater, meeting place and church.  In 1914, the City was incorporated and hence, Beverly Hills was born.  The rich, elegant lifestyle that it created attracted stars such as Douglas Fairbanks and his wife, Mary Pickford who led the wave of movie stars here when they built their mansion, Pickfair, in 1919.  Other stars include Gloria SwansonWill Rogers, Charlie Chaplin, John Barrymore, Buster Keaton and Rudolph Valentino, just to name a few, who also built stylish mansions.

What Does Beverly Hills Glam Fragrance Oil Smell Like?

This flamboyant fragrance oil by Natures Garden is truly a bold floral extravaganza.  Bursting with beautiful notes of ylang ylang, rose, and carnation with green moss, sweet amber and warm sandalwood complete the scent as a background.  All making this a one of a kind unforgettable lingering scent.

Autumn Woods FragranceAutumn Woods Fragrance Oil Spotlight

It’s almost Autumn and I am elated! Fall is by far my favorite season. One of the best things about this (soon-to-be) time of year is the changing colors and falling of the leaves. And what’s better than taking a walk through the woods on a brisk autumn day? I love the crunch, crunch, crunch of the leaves underneath my feet. It’s also easier to breath. Take a deep breath of that cool, crisp autumn air and you basically have this fantastic fall fragrance!

What Does Autumn Woods Fragrance Oil Smell Like?

This fragrance is a walk in the woods with the smell of crisp leaves under foot and fresh pine with berries falling off the trees.

Top Notes:  Lemon, Orange, Lime, Blackberries
Mid Notes:  Carnation, Rose, Muguet
Base Notes: Pine, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Eucalyptus leaves

How Do Our Customers Use Autumn Woods Fragrance Oil?

All kinds of creative ways! Firstly, they make delightful decorative candles. This earthy aura performs perfectly in joy wax and wow wax, and is nice and strong in soy wax. It is not gel wax compatible. The maximum recommended usage percentage for this fall fragrance in vegetable waxes and paraffin wax is 10%. Our coloring suggestions for candles are to use 4 drops of yellow plus 1 drop of brown liquid candle dye per four pounds of wax, or shred a small amount of yellow and brown color block into your melted wax. As cool and creative as it may sound, do NOT color your candles with crayons–it will clog the wick!

Secondly, they make some super room scents. The maximum recommended usage percentage for this full-bodied fragrance in incense and potpourri is 50%. This autumn aroma comes across nice and strong in aroma beads. We’ve also got an awesome Autumn Leaves Potpourri Recipe made with Autumn Woods Fragrance Oil, cute little leaf molds, and shiny gold mica pigment! A beautiful fall decoration that exudes a wonderful scent.

If you’d like to do some autumn-cleaning, the maximum recommended usage percentage for this seasonal scent in cleaning products is 5%.

Thirdly, bath and body products! The maximum recommended usage percentage in soaps, bath oils, and bath gels is 5%. Our cold process soap testing found that this complex accord results in no acceleration, no ricing, no separation, and nice, strong scent retention. It discolors CP soap to a tan color. This is possibly due to the 1.84% vanillin content of the fragrance. Vanillin has the tendency to discolor bath and body products. If you’d prefer, you can try to combat this with Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, but please remember you are responsible for the results in your finished products. Our coloring suggestions for bath and body products are to use yellow and brown soap colorant in the amount that satisfies you. You can also try natural soap colorants for some truly earthy tones, but pay close attention to the information on the page- some soapmaking processes can alter the desired color of your final soap. Experimenting is always okay! But never color your bath and body products with candle colorants- that is one experiment to avoid.

And finally, body products outside of the bath! This fragrance performs perfectly in perfumes and its maximum recommended usage percentage in lotions and body-sprays it 3.95%.

Wear this fragrance on your body or use it to fill rooms with scent- you will certainly feel all the fragrant fun of fall!
