Orange Juice Cake Fragrance Oil

Orange Juice Cake Fragrance Oil by Natures Garden Soap Making Supplies is the aroma of buttery pound cake. Then, you will find middle notes of orange zest. This orange bakery scent finishes with base notes of vanilla,  creamy coconut, and warm caramel. Anyone who has tasted Deborah’s mom’s famous orange Juice cake will love this one! Orange Juice Cake Fragrance Oil is not only a Natures Garden original fragrance oil, it’s also a best selling aroma.

Cut the Mango Butter Soap BaseCut the Mango Butter Soap Base

To begin creating our soap recipe, we need to prepare our slab of melt and pour soap base. Any of the white bases sold at Natures Garden will be sufficient for making this soap recipe. We sell 11 melt and pour soap bases, 8 of which are white in color that you can choose from. However, for this soap making recipe, we used the mango butter mp soap base. With your digital scale, weigh out 680 grams of soap for the cakes. This is equivalent to about 30 cubes from the slab. The remaining 10 cubes, or 236 grams, will be used at the end of this recipe.

Melt the SoapMelt the Soap

Next, place the cubes in a microwave safe bowl and melt them in 30-second increments. Stir gently in between each 30-second burst to check if there are any chunks of soap lingering. Once it is in a fully melted liquid state, you can pull the bowl out of the microwave.

Add Fragrance Oil and Color StabilizerAdd Fragrance Oil and Color Stabilizer

In the next step, we are going to add scented oil to our soap. Using the digital scale, you will need to measure out and add 34 grams of the Nature’s Garden Orange Juice Cake Fragrance Oil. In addition to that, you will want to match it up by adding 34 grams of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer. This step is necessary because some fragrance oils will discolor your products just due to the way they are made or mixed. This fragrance oil, in particular, discolors to a dark chocolate shade due to its vanillin content. Adding in the vanilla white color stabilizer can help us to prevent our soap from discoloring due to the vanilla content. After you add that, stir until it is evenly distributed.

Incorporate the Brown ColorantIncorporate the Brown Colorant

Now, take out a small glass bowl. We are going to mix 4 grams of the Cocoa Powder Organic with 8 grams of Vegetable Glycerin. This mixture is going to form a nice dark brown colorant for our soap. Once it is mixed together and liquefied, add it into the melted soap and stir to incorporate.

Mix in the Other Soap ColorantsMix in the Other Soap Colorants

Next, we need to get the other colorants out for our soap. We used the yellow oxide, orange oxide, and black oxide shades from our FUN Soap Colorants. Take the mixture and add 15 drops of yellow, 8 drops of orange, and 2 drops of black. Then, take a spoon and stir everything evenly together to incorporate the colors with your soap base. After you are finished stirring your soap, the shade should look somewhat similar to our picture to the left. We wanted these to resemble actual orange juice cake, and we liked the shade that this combination of colorants produced. You can always adjust how the color looks if you are not satisfied or would like to make it your own!

Pour the Mixture into the MoldsPour the Mixture into the Molds

Once your melted soap is fragranced, colored, and evenly mixed, you can get the bundt cake silicone soap mold ready. Pour the mixture up to the top of three of the cavities. You will have enough soap to fill up three out of the four bundts.

Spray the SoapSpray the Soap

Now, grab your bullet bottle with rubbing alcohol in it that you prepared earlier in the recipe. Spray your soap in each of the bundts with the rubbing alcohol. This is going to remove any air bubbles that formed. Then, allow some time for all three of the cakes to completely set up before moving onto the decorative toppings!

Remove Soap from MoldsRemove Soap from Molds

Once some time has passed, you can go ahead and remove the soap bundts from their molds. You can either place them on a plate or on the flexible silicone mat from Natures Garden. We decided to use the mat because the next step is going to get a little messy. Place it on a 9″ x 13″ baking pan to give you stability and an easier cleanup. Alternatively, you can line the pan with wax paper, if you prefer.

Melt Down Soap for the IcingMelt Down Soap for the Icing

For the next step, you will need to retrieve the remaining 10 cubes (236 grams) of the melt and pour soap base from the first step. In another microwave safe bowl or glass container, melt the soap down in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Continue melting until your mango butter melt and pour soap base is in a completely liquid state. Then, add in 11 grams of Orange Juice Cake Fragrance and match it with 11 grams of the Vanilla White Color Stabilizer. Once again, this will help our soap to stay white, which is necessary in order for it to look like icing. Stir well to blend these ingredients.

Pour Icing onto the SoapsPour Icing onto the Soaps

Now, you will want to use your bottle of rubbing alcohol once again to spray the tops of the bundts. This is going to allow the layer of icing to stick when it is poured over the bundts, as well as for the orange peel to stick in the next step. Carefully drizzle the melted soap base over them back and forth to look like icing.

Apply the Orange Peel FinishApply the Orange Peel Finish

Since traditional orange juice cake is topped with nuts, we wanted to make sure we depict that in this soap recipe. So, top your soaps off by sprinkling on some pieces of orange peel cut & sifted to resemble the nuts. Orange peel is loaded with vitamins and nutrients that are great for the skin. It can also be used as an anti-bacterial. These qualities make it a great ingredient to add to soap and various other bath or body products. It can be used in bath tea, facial masks, bath salts, shampoo, bath bombs, and lotion. Once the icing has set up and dried, the soap will ready to use!

The Finished ProductThe Finished Product

After you have applied the icing and the orange peel to your soap, they should look like this picture here. The icing will probably have made a mess and spread like ours did. So, once your soap icing has finished setting up, you can remove the excess icing surrounding the soap cakes. It will not take long for the soap to harden and become easier to remove than it would when it is still wet.

Your soap cakes will be ready to use after that! You can set them on the shelves in the shower or the edge of the tub for a nice display. We hope that you had a fun time following along with us making this Orange Juice Cake Soap Recipe.

Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil is a sweet fruit and floral scent by Natures Garden. This aroma is a complex blend of fruity scents, fresh floral scents, ginger spice notes, and  woodsy scents. Use this floral fragrance oil in handmade scented products.  Take it from one of our reviewers, “I am not particularly drawn to floral fo’s because many smell heady. Not this one. It is beautifully rounded and smells very creamy to me. I use it in soap, lotions, and conditioners. Never get tired of it.”

What Does Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil Smell Like?

Tuberose essential oil is extremely expensive, and is used in the most exquisite fine fragrances.  We have done our very best to create a fragrance oil with the same aroma as this expensive essential oil; while adding complimentary notes to make this fragrance well-balanced.  Natures Garden’s moonlight tuberose fragrance begins with top notes of white pear and green apple;  followed by middle notes of tuberose, jasmine, lily of the valley, and ginger;  sitting on base notes of violet, ylang ylang, peach, vanilla, and fresh woods.  An NG Original fragrance!

Handcrafted cosmetics like fizzies, perfumes, lotions, and related products can be created with a maximum of 5% for this fragrance oil. If you are unsure how to color bath and body creations that use this fragrance oil, then we would recommend using a combination of red soap dye and burgundy soap colorants in the amounts that you prefer. Both joy wax and wow wax will each perform perfectly for this scent. Also, this scent will be nice and strong in soy wax products. If you haven’t made a decision on which color to use for your candle with this fragrance oil, then we’d suggest using four drops of red liquid candle dye along with two drops of burgundy liquid candle dye or a small amount of shredded red and burgundy color blocks in the amounts that you would prefer per four pounds of wax. Just remember that you should never use any crayons for the coloring of your candles as they will clog your wick.
