Before you start making this Facial Mask for Acne Recipe, you want to clean and sanitize your work area. When you are making this recipe, it is recommended that you wear protective clothing, gloves, and a hair net. Working with a bunch of powders, it may also be in your best interest to want to wear a face mask . 

Setting Up and Weighing out the Dry IngredientsSetting Up and Weighing out the Dry Ingredients

Grab a medium sized mixing bowl, and set it on the scale. Tare out the weight of the mixing bowl on the scale to zero grams. You want to weigh out the pomegranate fruit, papaya leaf, calendula flowers, and green tea powders. The order that you weigh these powders doesn’t matter.

After adding the previous powders, you then want to add 448 grams of the Rhassoul Clay Powder.  After adding the last powder, you want to mix all of the powders around in the bowl until they are evenly dispersed. If you don’t evenly disperse them, you may not get the full effect of the facial mask all around your face. There are two ways you can mix these. First, you could put on some gloves, and move the powders around with your hands until they are fully dispersed among each other. When you do this, it doesn’t hurt to take your fingers and break up any clumps in the powder. Second, you could take a fork or spoon, and sift through the powders.

After mixing all of the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl, the next step is to add in the wet ingredients. The first wet ingredient to add to the facial mask mixture is the Vitamin E Oil. Vitamin E Oil is a natural oil that can protect your skin against sunburn damage, and can also be used to counteract inflammation. Use the disposable pipette to add the oil into the mixture. You want to fill up the pipette with the oil, then add 48 drops of the vitamin e oil to the dry mixture. Afterward, you want to dispose of the pipette and get a new one. With the new pipette, fill it with tea tree essential oil. You want to add 64 drops of the tea tree essential oil to the mixture. 

Packaging the Dry Ingredients

When the oils are added to the mixture, thoroughly mix the ingredients together. You want to make sure that there are no clumps leftover in the mixture when you are done mixing it. Like before, it may also help to put on gloves, and go through with your hands afterward and break apart any clumps. The mixture should still be a powdery substance when you are done mixing. Now that the powdered portion is finished, scoop the mixture in the bowl into the four ounce jars. Then, you can close the lids on the jars. You should place a lid on each of the jars as you finish filling them. The lids should easily go on. If you notice that you’re trying to force the lid, remove a little bit of the facial mask mixture, and try again.

Packaging the Vegetable Glycerin

Next, you want to prepare seven 1 oz clear bullet bottles. When preparing these bottles, it wouldn’t hurt to put some decent space in between them to avoid knocking one of them over. In each of these bottles, you want to add 24 grams of vegetable glycerin. You can do this by placing each bullet bottle on a scale, and tare it out to zero. Then after taring the bullet bottle, you can fill up a new disposable pipette with vegetable glycerin and add it to the bottle. When all the bottles are properly filled, you want to place a white ribbed lid on each of the bottles. You should tightly secure the lids on the bottles. This will eliminate the possibility of any leaks.

Using the Facial Mask for Acne Recipe

Now that all of the ingredients are completely made, the next step is to use the facial mask. Before using the face mask, make sure to clean up your work area when you are done, as there are a lot of products that were used that could’ve gotten everywhere. To use the facial mask, you want to first get a small mixing bowl. In this small mixing bowl, you want to add one tablespoon of powder, two tablespoons of water, and about 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin. After adding these ingredients in the bowl, mix them well to get a complete consistency. After you are done mixing these ingredients together, the facial mask is ready to use and apply to your face.

A Side Note for this Recipe

As a side note, here at Nature’s Garden we choose to package the powder separately from the Vegetable Glycerin in our facial mask for acne recipe. Since we don’t have to create the mask with water, this will eliminate the need to add a preservative to it. The reason behind this is that microorganisms and bacteria thrive and live in water induced environments. To eliminate this threat when packaging the face masks, we use vegetable glycerin packaged separately instead, so preservatives aren’t needed. You customers can then mix up the facial masks as needed. This efficient solution will allow your customer to interact more with how they want their facial masks. They can add more water if they would like a thinner mask and less water to make a thicker consistency You can make about 8 facial masks from each of the 4 oz jars.
