Before you start on this cold process soap recipe, you will want to make a few preparations. First, you will want to gather and wash any equipment you are going to need for this bath and body recipe. Also, you will want to gather any of the soap making supplies that are needed for the spin soap. Next, you are going to want to clean up a space for you to use as a work area. You will want to make sure you have enough space to work comfortably. This will make the soap making process easier and more fun!

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Prepare a Bottle of Vinegar

Also, you will want to prepare a bottle of vinegar before making this homemade cold process soap. Since the vinegar will be used to deactivate any lye that may come into contact with your skin, this bottle of vinegar will be important for practicing cold process soap safety. Furthermore, you can use the vinegar to clean up your work station after making cp soap to make sure that there isn’t any active lye left behind that could be hazardous. So, you will want to fill the 8 ounce spray bottle with vinegar and set it nearby until it is needed.

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Prepare the Lye SolutionSpin Swirl Soap Recipe: Prepare the Lye Solution

First, you are going to create the lye solution for this cp soap recipe. You will want to prepare this homemade soap recipe in a well ventilated room to avoid breathing it in. Further, you will need to wear a face mask and protective clothing during the soap making process to protect yourself from fumes and potential splashing. You are going to measure out 107 grams of the lye for soap making and add it to 277 grams of the distilled water. You will need to be sure to stir as you add the lye to your water. After everything is mixed, you will need to place the container in a safe place to wait for your solution to cool to room temperature.

After, you will set your bowl aside to wait for the soaping oils to cool to the right temperature.

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Prepare the Cosmetic ColorantsSpin Swirl Soap Recipe: Prepare the Cosmetic Colorants

While you are waiting for your lye solution and cosmetic oil mixtures to both cool down to room temperature, you can begin to prepare the four soap colorants that you will need for this bath and body recipe. So, you are going to need to get four separate mixing bowls that are about medium sized. In each of these medium mixing bowls you are going to add one of the colorant mixtures for the different potions of the soap batter.

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Prepare the White Colorant

First, you are going to need one of the medium mixing bowls to hold the white colorant for this soap. In this bowl you will need to add 7 grams of the Titanium Dioxide. Additionally, you will want to mix in a small amount of soaping oils. You will want to mix these two cosmetic ingredients together well to get rid of any clumps. Once everything is mixed together, you can set this colorant aside for a later step.

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Prepare the Yellow/Orange Colorant

Next, you are going to another medium mixing bowl. This bowl is going to contain the yellow/orange colorant. So, you are going to need to add 6 grams of the Yelp Yellow FUN Soap Colorant, 2 grams of the Jailhouse Red FUN Soap Colorant, and 3 drops of the Yellow Oxide FUN Soap Colorant. Then, you can set this bowl aside for the moment.

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Prepare the Red/Orange Colorant

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Prepare the Red Colorant

Lastly, you are going to prepare the red colorant in a clean, medium mixing bowl. You will need to add 3 grams of the Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant and 4 grams of the Neon Red FUN Soap Colorant. Then, you can set this bowl aside for the moment.

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Combing the Lye and Cosmetic OilsSpin Swirl Soap Recipe: Combing the Lye and Cosmetic Oils

Once the lye solution and the cosmetic oils have reached room temperature, you are ready to combine them. So, you are going to add the lye solution to your cosmetic oils and use a stick blender to emulsify everything together.

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Adding the Fragrance OilSpin Swirl Soap Recipe: Adding the Fragrance Oil

Now that your cosmetic ingredients have been emulsified, you are ready to add the fragrance oil. So, you are going to weigh out 55 grams of the Star Fruit and Mango Fragrance Oil. This fun spin swirl soap recipe includes the scent of our Star Fruit and Mango Fragrance Oil. This fragrance oil is a blend of fresh star fruit and mango. This scent is rounded out with notes of ripened strawberry and juicy peach. So, your cold process soap will have a refreshing aroma of this fruity scent.

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Dividing the Soap BatterSpin Swirl Soap Recipe: Dividing the Soap Batter

Now you are going to need to divide the scented soap batter into four equal portions. Also, you are going to need to retrieve the four mixing bowls with your prepared colorants. You will need to use all of the soap batter and try to use about the same amount of soap in each of the four bowls. Then, mix one of the prepared soap colorants into each of the four soap batter mixtures and stick blend to incorporate the color.

Spin Swirl Soap Recipe: Filling the Soap MoldSpin Swirl Soap Recipe: Filling the Soap Mold

Next, you are going to be filling the soap mold with your portioned soap batter. So, you will need to retrieve the large rectangle tray mold. You will be filling up your wholesale soap mold by pouring only into only two of the corners. These corners will need to be diagonal from one another. Then, you will need to choose two of your colors to start with to pour into the corners. You will need to pour one into each of the corners at the same time. Then, switch the bowls between your hands and pour these colors at the same time. Next, you will grab the two remaining colors, pour one into each corner, switch hands, and pour again. You will need to repeat this process until the mold is filled.

Spinning Your CP SoapSpinning Your CP Soap

As soon as you have your soap mold filled, you are going to spin the soap to create the design for this cp soap recipe. So, you will need to gently transfer the soap mold from the table and onto the lazy Susan. Then, you can begin to slowly spin the lazy Susan in a single direction. This spinning will begin to move your soap batter and create wavy lines. You will want to continue to swirl the soap until you feel that your design has enough swirl. Once you are satisfied with the design of your swirl soap, you can stop spinning the lazy Susan.

Finishing Your Spin Swirl Soap

Now, your cold process soap is nearly ready to use! All you have left to do is allow your soap the time to set up and cure. After 24-43 hours you can remove the soap from the cosmetic mold. Now you can slice your soap along the lines that were created from the soap mold. Then, you will need to let your soap rest for 4-6 weeks before using. After this cure time, you can finally use your beautiful cold process soap!
