My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion

There are so many wonderful fragrance oils available at Natures Garden that can be used in scented lotion. Some of these scented oils are uniquely original NG aromas and other fragrances were inspired by amazing scents that already exist, but they are all great for making different homemade recipes. My name is Bailey and I love creating my very own homemade lotions! Also, I really enjoy the designer duplicates that Natures Garden has recreated, because it allows me to use some of my favorite scents in any recipes that I want! While you may have different opinions about your favorite lotion scents, I wanted to share some of my favorite fragrance oils for lotion.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: You Sexy Thing You Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: You Sexy Thing You Fragrance Oil

One amazing scent for homemade lotion is the designer aroma of You Sexy Thing You Fragrance Oil. This gorgeous aroma is Natures Garden’s take on Victoria’s Secret’s Sexy Little Things perfume. The aroma of this fragrance oil is exotic and floral. This tempting aroma begins with a floral blend of orchid, jasmine, and freesia. Also, this scent has sensual musks and sandalwood that create a gorgeous scent. Such a gorgeous aroma! I love this scent in my scented lotions because it works as perfume, too. This lotion leaves my skin feeling soft and smelling absolutely captivating.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Hawaiian Suntan Fragrance Oil

Also, you can use the fantastic scent of our Hawaiian Suntan Fragrance Oil for homemade lotion. This gorgeous summertime aroma is a scrumptious scent for both regular and suntan lotion.  This delightful dupe of Hawaiian Tropic’s suntan lotion has bright notes that will whisk you away to a sandy paradise. I love the aroma of this fruity scent with its notes of creamy coconut, passion fruit, guava, pineapple, banana, melon, and grapefruit. It’s perfect for creating deliciously scented lotion that is reminiscent of relaxing days at the beach.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Coconut Cabana Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Coconut Cabana Fragrance Oil

Next, we have the scent of the vibrant Coconut Cabana Fragrance Oil. This bright and happy fragrance oil is based off of the aroma of a scent from Bath and Body Works, Coco Cabana fragrance. This scent oil blends the true scent of cocoa butter and tropical fruits to get a paradise aroma that can’t be beat! Plus, the note of coco butter is amplified in a lotion recipe that uses Cocoa Butter Golden Natural to add to an amazing lotion scent! Plus, this fun, tropical aroma is perfect for summer time lotions due to the notes of coconut, fruits, vanilla, and so much more!

superfood scentMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Acai Berry Fragrance Oil

Also, the Acai Berry Fragrance Oil has a scent that I absolutely adore! Ever since I tried out the Acai Berry Smoothie Sugar Scrub Recipe I have been in love with this fragrance oil. The unique scent of the tropical acai berry blends perfectly with the sweet cherry, plum, violet petals, and the woodsy base. I have tried this scent in my own lotion recipes and find it to be irresistible every single time!

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Camu Camu Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Camu Camu Fragrance Oil

Another yummy fruit scent for homemade lotion is the Camu Camu Fragrance Oil. This scent is a sweet and tangy blend inspired by the aroma of Scenty’s Camu Camu scent that is hard to forget! I love the delicious blend of tart berries, juicy fruits, and floral notes with green base notes blended with sweet vanilla. This is one of those tasty scents that is perfect for everyday lotions. I love this fruity aroma in my hand cream recipes because I can take the deliciously scented lotion where ever I go!

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Autumn Woods Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Autumn Woods Fragrance Oil

Next, we have my favorite scented oil for fall lotions. The Autumn Woods Fragrance Oil is a gorgeous duplication of Yankee’s Autumn Woods candle scent. While it was originally made for candles, it makes a fantastic lotion scent. The aroma is like a brisk walk through the park on a beautiful fall day with the scent of crisp fallen leaves, fresh pine, and sweet berries fallen from their branches. These scents create everything wonderful about this awe inspiring season. Of course, its one of my favorite scents for my autumn lotions.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Fruity Rings Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Fruity Rings Fragrance Oil

Another delectable scent for homemade hand lotions is the Fruity Rings Fragrance Oil. This scrumptious fragrance oil is based off of the delicious scent of Fruit Loops Cereal. This fun and colorful cereal has an aroma that makes my mouth water. The combination of the refreshing citrus top notes with middle notes of lemongrass, lily, and verbena all resting on a base of sweet vanilla sugar is too good to be true. The scent is so delicious and true to life that it is simply irresistible. Plus, the scent lasts for quite some time in my body lotion recipes so the fun lasts all day long!

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Sun Ripened Raspberry Fragrance Oil My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Sun Ripened Raspberry Fragrance Oil

Also, I love the sweet scent of the Sun Ripened Raspberry Fragrance Oil in my lotion recipes. This gorgeous aroma was created to be like the Bath and Body Work’s Sun Ripened Raspberry, which is a delicious aroma. This scent take the aroma of freshly ripened raspberries and blends them with notes of red delicious apples, squeezed orange, ylang ylang, soft rose, greenery, and tagete. These notes are all on a lovely base of vanilla beans that round out this sweet fruit aroma. This sweet scent is light and perfect for daily hand creams that smell uplifting without being overpowering.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Coconut Vanilla Type Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Coconut Vanilla Type Fragrance Oil

Another fun scented oil to use in lotions is the NG Coconut Vanilla Type Fragrance Oil. This sweet tropical aroma is a scent that would be perfect for summer. The scent was created to smell like Yankee’s Vanilla Coconut, which is sweet and delicious. To recreate this aroma we used top notes of coconut, cream and sugar that are followed by middle notes of rose and lily of the valley. Then, the scent culminates with base notes of cedarwood and vanilla. Such a lovely, light coconut fragrance oil that is perfect for lotions.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Goldie Dreadlocks Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Goldie Dreadlocks Fragrance Oil

Another great scent for homemade lotions is the Goldie Dreadlocks Fragrance Oil! This complex and unique masterpiece was based on LUSH’s Porridge and I am in love! This scent has top notes of fresh citrus and fruity floral notes. This rests on a bouquet of violet, geranium, and lavender. Finally, the scent is rounded with a base of patchouli and vanilla sugar. Initially, I tried this scent in homemade conditioner, but it has been a gorgeous scent for homemade lotions, too!

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Class & Sass Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Class & Sass Fragrance Oil

Next, we have the timelessly feminine aroma of the Class & Sass Fragrance Oil. This scent is both classy and sassy at the same time and I absolutely love it! This aroma was inspired by the marvelous scent of Coco Channel’s Chanel No. 5 perfume. This aroma starts with notes of fresh floral ylang ylang, sweet rose petals, and French jasmine top notes. Then, the middle notes are of vetiver and sandalwood. Then, the aroma finishes with a woodsy bottom that ties the entire fragrance together. Such a gorgeous scent that can be used for any occasion, because there is never a time that you could smell too good!

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Cocktails by the Pool Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Cocktails by the Pool Fragrance Oil

Also, I like to use the Cocktails by the Pool Fragrance Oil in many of my lotion recipes. This fresh, fruity scent is another fragrance that is perfect for summer! The aroma was inspired by the scent of Bath and Body Works’ gorgeous Sunset by the Pool aroma. This fragrance at NG has notes of sparkling fruits, gorgeous and soft florals, sandalwood, and vanilla. This scent is such a perfect blend for a tropical summer fragrance oil that I just had to include it in my lotion bar supplies for this year!

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Daisy Type Fragrance Oil My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Daisy Type Fragrance Oil

Another great scented oil for lotion making is the Daisy Type Fragrance Oil. This delightful floral aroma was created to match the scent of Marc Jacob’s Daisy perfume. Our rendition of this fragrance starts with tangy lemon and jasmine notes that are followed by middle notes of muguet lily, rose petals, African violet, and daylily. These layers are both sitting on a base of cedarwood, patchouli, and musk. This blend of gorgeous aromas creates a fragrance that is light and beautiful. This is perfect for creating a light scented lotion that leaves you smelling delightfully feminine.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Viva La Juicee Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Viva La Juicee Fragrance Oil

Next, we have the vibrant and fruity scent of NG Viva La Juicee Fragrance Oil. This fragrance oil was inspired by the aroma of Juicy Couture’s Viva la Juicy fragrance. My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Black Raspberry Vanilla Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Black Raspberry Vanilla Fragrance Oil

Also, Black Raspberry Vanilla Fragrance Oil is another fantastic scent for creating lotion recipes. In fact, the first time I used this scent was in the Black Raspberry Vanilla Body Butter Recipe and it was such a delightful scent! This aroma was based on the scent of Bath and Body Work’s Black Raspberry Vanilla and NG made such a wonderful dupe. The blend of blackberries, raspberries, white floral, musk and vanilla creates a scent that is simply irresistible. This is one of my go to scents for daily lotion recipes and I just love it all year round.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Early Sunrise Type Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Early Sunrise Type Fragrance Oil

Plus, you can use the bright citrus scent of the NG Early Sunrise Type Fragrance Oil. This delightful scent was based on Yankee’s Early Sunrise candle scent. This aroma has fresh notes of  lemon, grapefruit, clementine, green floral notes, and amber woods that blend together to create a very uplifting aroma. This fragrance oil is perfect for creating a bright citrus hand cream for on the go. I like to throw a container of sunrise scented cream in my purse. This is perfect for when my hands get a little dry or I could use a scent pick-me-up throughout the day.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: How to Make Perfume Last

While you may think that wearing both lotion and perfume would just be too much, they can actually be used to compliment one another. I had assumed that using both would make the scent too strong, but I was so wrong in thinking that. In fact, combining perfume and lotion will make your scent last even longer than either would last alone! If you are curious on how to do this, then check out an amazing article by Style Caster called How to Layer Lotion and Perfume Without Overdoing It. Here you will learn a few tricks about smelling great and making your scent last longer!

15 grams of Apricot Kernel Oil

13 grams of  Beeswax White Pastilles

4 grams of White Chocolate Fragrance Oil

5 of the White Chocolate Wafers – 12 oz

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe Preparing Your Working Area

Before you begin creating your bath melts you should make sure that the area you will be working in is clean. Also, make sure you have an available stove within your working area that is clean. Additionally, make sure that your equipment, such as pots, a bowl, and a brownie bites mold, have been sanitized well. If you don’t clean your mold before you being the recipe, your mixture may cool before you can get a chance to pour. Further, you may want to start thinking about how you are going to package your finished bath melts. The recipe will create a total of twelve brownie bite sized bath melts, so be prepared with enough packaging.

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe Weighing Your Ingredients

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe WeighInitially, you are going to want to weigh your mango butter, apricot kernel oil, beeswax, and white chocolate wafers into a medium sized bowl. Set the units of your scale to grams, set your bowl on the scale, and tare the weight of your bowl. Now, you can measure the 224 grams of mango butter. You will want to tare after adding this butter and continue to tare between your future additions. Weigh out 15 grams of Apricot Kernel Oil, 13 grams Beeswax White Pastilles, and five of your white chocolate wafers. We be melting all of the ingredients on the stove top.

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe Melting Your Ingredients

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe MeltNext, we are going to use your two differently sized pots to create a double boiler. The double boiling method of melting is useful for preventing your ingredients in the mixture from scorching, which could ruin the recipe. So, lets begin!

Initially, we will go over how to create and correctly use a double boiler to melt the ingredients. First, fill your larger pot with some water. I’d suggest filling the pot with about a fourth of the way up with water.  This amount can be adjusted after you can see how the water level rises with the addition of the smaller pot. Now, you can take the medium sized pot and place that into the water of the larger pot. If your water level looks like it is high enough that the water could boil over into the smaller pot, then pour out some water. On the other hand, if your smaller pot White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe Liquidbarely touches the water level, then you may want to increase your water level. Further, if you notice later on that the water is getting too close to the rim of the medium sized pot, you can remove the pot and readjust the water levels.

After you have adjusted the water, you can now take your previously measured ingredients and add them to the medium pot. Finally, you will boil the water until your mixture is liquid. You must watch carefully to make sure the water in the larger pot doesn’t boil over into your oils in the smaller pot as it could ruin your bath melt recipe.

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe Scenting Your Bath Melts

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe BowlFirst, I would recommend transferring the mixture out of the pot. The pot is likely too hot to place on your scale and may keep your mixture too hot for you to add fragrance oil as well. Therefore, I would recommend that you take your newly melted ingredients and return the mixture to the bowl that you weighed these ingredients prior to melting. Afterward, we can add the fragrance oil to the mixture.

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe FragranceNext, we are going to add 4 grams of our White Chocolate Fragrance Oil to the mix of ingredients . However, the oils may be too hot and could burn off the scent. So, use your own discretion to determine the right time to add the fragrance oil. Once the fragrance oil is included, we’ll mix thoroughly yet quickly. Now, get ready to pour the mixture into our brownie bites mold.

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe Pouring Into Your Mold

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe Pour

Finally, we are going to pour the mixture into the 24 – brownie bites mold. You should be able to create twelve full bath melt squares with this recipes. Once all of the batter has been poured give the melts some time to set up undisturbed. Later, you can move the mold into the freezer. However, you need to make sure the bath melts are set up enough to move. If you are deciding whether to move the mold and aren’t sure if it is time, I’d recommend waiting a bit longer to prevent a potential disaster. Waiting longer before you move the bath melts to the freezer can’t hurt the recipe, but not waiting long enough could make a mess of your bath and body creation. Once you remove the brownie bites mold from your freezer you can remove your bath melts from the mold. Finally, enjoy your scrumptious white chocolate bath melts!

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe Packaging Your Finished Bath Melts

Before packaging you should be aware that the bath melts can begin to melt in your hand. Be sure not to handle the melts too much. Additionally, the place you intend to store your bath melts shouldn’t exceed room temperature as the bath melts will likely melt this way as well. While melting doesn’t necessarily ruin the product, it will make transferring the bath melt to the bath tub more difficult.

While there is no one specific way to package your bath melts, I would recommend that you use  something that would require a minimal amount of touching and/or holding your finished bath melts. However, as long as your bath melts are packaged well enough to avoid getting dirty and haven’t melted entirely in your hand, then your product should be fine. The white chocolate bath melts that I had created were saved in a zip lock bag and stored at room temperature  for the time being, but feel free to use any method of storage that you have available.

White Chocolate Bath Melts Recipe Using Your Finished Bath Melts

Once you have a nice, warm bath running, place just one of your bath melts under the running water of your tub. Including the bath melt while your bath is filling up will allow the oils to disperse more evenly throughout the bath water. The bath melts may make your tub slippery, you should be safe and use caution while getting in and out of the tub.

Adding more than a single bath melt to your tub could create a very slippery situation. While it may feel like it couldn’t hurt to use a few more of these little bath melts, remember it is always possible to have too much of a good thing. In this instance, adding multiple bath melts will cause there to be an excess of oils in your bath tub. All of this excess oil from these extra bath melts can sink to the bottom of your tub and have the potential to make your tub very slippery. While you still need to be cautious stepping in and out of the tub with a single bath melt, it is far less slippery than if you were to use more than a single bath melt. You’ll only need a single melt to notice the delicious white chocolate scent and feel a difference in your skin. So, it would be wasteful to use more bath melts than you need at one time. Plus, since you are saving all those extra bath melts, you can take even more baths with these delightful white chocolate bath melts!
