My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion

There are so many wonderful fragrance oils available at Natures Garden that can be used in scented lotion. Some of these scented oils are uniquely original NG aromas and other fragrances were inspired by amazing scents that already exist, but they are all great for making different homemade recipes. My name is Bailey and I love creating my very own homemade lotions! Also, I really enjoy the designer duplicates that Natures Garden has recreated, because it allows me to use some of my favorite scents in any recipes that I want! While you may have different opinions about your favorite lotion scents, I wanted to share some of my favorite fragrance oils for lotion.

One amazing scent for homemade lotion is the designer aroma of You Sexy Thing You Fragrance Oil. This gorgeous aroma is Natures Garden’s take on Victoria’s Secret’s Sexy Little Things perfume. The aroma of this fragrance oil is exotic and floral. This tempting aroma begins with a floral blend of orchid, jasmine, and freesia. Also, this scent has sensual musks and sandalwood that create a gorgeous scent. Such a gorgeous aroma! I love this scent in my scented lotions because it works as perfume, too. This lotion leaves my skin feeling soft and smelling absolutely captivating.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Autumn Woods Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Autumn Woods Fragrance Oil

Next, we have my favorite scented oil for fall lotions. The Autumn Woods Fragrance Oil is a gorgeous duplication of Yankee’s Autumn Woods candle scent. While it was originally made for candles, it makes a fantastic lotion scent. The aroma is like a brisk walk through the park on a beautiful fall day with the scent of crisp fallen leaves, fresh pine, and sweet berries fallen from their branches. These scents create everything wonderful about this awe inspiring season. Of course, its one of my favorite scents for my autumn lotions.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Fruity Rings Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Fruity Rings Fragrance Oil

Another delectable scent for homemade hand lotions is the Fruity Rings Fragrance Oil. This scrumptious fragrance oil is based off of the delicious scent of Fruit Loops Cereal. This fun and colorful cereal has an aroma that makes my mouth water. The combination of the refreshing citrus top notes with middle notes of lemongrass, lily, and verbena all resting on a base of sweet vanilla sugar is too good to be true. The scent is so delicious and true to life that it is simply irresistible. Plus, the scent lasts for quite some time in my body lotion recipes so the fun lasts all day long!

Another fun scented oil to use in lotions is the NG Coconut Vanilla Type Fragrance Oil. This sweet tropical aroma is a scent that would be perfect for summer. The scent was created to smell like Yankee’s Vanilla Coconut, which is sweet and delicious. To recreate this aroma we used top notes of coconut, cream and sugar that are followed by middle notes of rose and lily of the valley. Then, the scent culminates with base notes of cedarwood and vanilla. Such a lovely, light coconut fragrance oil that is perfect for lotions.

This scent has top notes of fresh citrus and fruity floral notes. This rests on a bouquet of violet, geranium, and lavender. Finally, the scent is rounded with a base of patchouli and vanilla sugar. Initially, I tried this scent in homemade conditioner, but it has been a gorgeous scent for homemade lotions, too!

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Class & Sass Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Class & Sass Fragrance Oil

Next, we have the timelessly feminine aroma of the Class & Sass Fragrance Oil. This scent is both classy and sassy at the same time and I absolutely love it! This aroma was inspired by the marvelous scent of Coco Channel’s Chanel No. 5 perfume. This aroma starts with notes of fresh floral ylang ylang, sweet rose petals, and French jasmine top notes. Then, the middle notes are of vetiver and sandalwood. Then, the aroma finishes with a woodsy bottom that ties the entire fragrance together. Such a gorgeous scent that can be used for any occasion, because there is never a time that you could smell too good!

The aroma was inspired by the scent of Bath and Body Works’ gorgeous Sunset by the Pool aroma. This fragrance at NG has notes of sparkling fruits, gorgeous and soft florals, sandalwood, and vanilla. This scent is such a perfect blend for a tropical summer fragrance oil that I just had to include it in my lotion bar supplies for this year!

Also, Black Raspberry Vanilla Fragrance Oil is another fantastic scent for creating lotion recipes. In fact, the first time I used this scent was in the Black Raspberry Vanilla Body Butter Recipe and it was such a delightful scent! This aroma was based on the scent of Bath and Body Work’s Black Raspberry Vanilla and NG made such a wonderful dupe. The blend of blackberries, raspberries, white floral, musk and vanilla creates a scent that is simply irresistible. This is one of my go to scents for daily lotion recipes and I just love it all year round.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Early Sunrise Type Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Early Sunrise Type Fragrance Oil

Plus, you can use the bright citrus scent of the NG Early Sunrise Type Fragrance Oil. This delightful scent was based on Yankee’s Early Sunrise candle scent. This aroma has fresh notes of  lemon, grapefruit, clementine, green floral notes, and amber woods that blend together to create a very uplifting aroma. This fragrance oil is perfect for creating a bright citrus hand cream for on the go. I like to throw a container of sunrise scented cream in my purse. This is perfect for when my hands get a little dry or I could use a scent pick-me-up throughout the day.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: How to Make Perfume Last

While you may think that wearing both lotion and perfume would just be too much, they can actually be used to compliment one another. I had assumed that using both would make the scent too strong, but I was so wrong in thinking that. In fact, combining perfume and lotion will make your scent last even longer than either would last alone! If you are curious on how to do this, then check out an amazing article by Style Caster called How to Layer Lotion and Perfume Without Overdoing It. Here you will learn a few tricks about smelling great and making your scent last longer!

Denise's Favorite Fragrance OilsDenise’s Favorite Fragrance Oils

Hey there! My name is Denise and I have been with Nature’s Garden for two and a half years now. I started out in the shipping department and have recently moved into customer service. I was recently asked to name my 10 favorite fragrance oils and I honestly had to stop and think because after working here for a while I have accumulated a lot of favorite fragrances, but these 10 are my go-to, all-time favorite fragrance oils starting with my ultimate favorite: Beach Daisies Fragrance Oil.  So, drum roll please…. Denise’s favorite fragrance oils.

Next, when Nature’s Garden tested Beach Daisies fragrance oil in CP soap, we found there was some acceleration. However, there was no ricing, no separation, and no discoloration. We also found that it maintained a very strong scent retention after cure. Due to the acceleration of the soap batter, we suggest soaping at lower temperatures.

4 Leaf Clover fragrance oil by Natures Garden is a wonderful floral ozony blend of clover, green grass, with hints of fresh cut wisteria. Your line would not be complete without “the luck of the clover”.  NG Original Fragrance!

Did you know?  The four-leaf clover is an uncommon variation of the common three-leaf clover. According to superstition, such leaves bring good luck to their finders, especially if found accidentally. Approximately 1 in every 10,000 clovers has the four-leaflet form. Clovers can have more than four leaflets. The most leaflets ever recorded is eighteen. According to legend, each leaflet represents something: the first is for hope, the second is for faith, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck. Legend also holds that if a lady hangs a four-leaf clover on her door, the next man to come in will become her husband.

Apple Jack Peel fragrance oil is truly fantastic and a Nature’s Garden Best Seller!

Did You Know?  Applejack is a very strong alcoholic beverage. This beverage originated in the American colonial era, which is believed to have roots from the French Apple Brandy Calvados.  Obviously, the beverage is made from apples, but first, the apples must be transformed into hard cider.  Then, that hard cider must be concentrated.  This can be done in two possible ways. First, there is the classic procedure of freeze distillation, also there is the option of true evaporative distillation. Either selection will work, but the actual word applejack comes from the word jacking which is one term for freeze distillation.
