Powerful Fragrance Oils for Wax MeltsPowerful Fragrance Oils for Wax Melts

When it comes to scenting any room in your house, you are always looking for a strong scent that is gonna stay around for a good while. There are many powerful fragrance oils for your wax melts at Nature’s Garden that you can use in your wax tart recipes that will keep your room smelling wonderful for a long time. However, there are ways to ensure that you have a stronger scent throw in your melter.  For example, you may want to choose a heavier fragrance oil. What ever your use, we will talk about some of our client’s favorite scents for wax melts.  We will also talk about choosing more complex fragrance oils.

Why Choose Heavier Fragrance Oils for your Wax Melts?

Are you looking for a strong aroma in your home that you will enjoy? Using a strong fragrance oil in your wax melts will ensure that your home is completely filled with good scents. A fragrance oil will smell differently in the bottle than it will in your finished wax melts. The reasoning behind this is because in the bottle all you smell are the top notes. Then, when the fragrance is mixed into the wax melts, you will smell the incorporation of all three notes. Choosing heavier fragrance oils will ensure that you are able to distinguish these notes more clearly in your final product. Also, depending on the size of the room that your wax melts are melted in, you may need stronger fragrances to encompass the whole room.

What Makes These Fragrances Heavier?

There are several factors that play into making a fragrance oil more strong than another. All of the fragrance oils sold at Nature’s Garden are already 100% concentrated. This means that our fragrance oils aren’t diluted, and you will get the full aroma of the fragrance. This is one of the factors that plays into a strong fragrance oil.

Next to the concentration of the fragrance, the evaporation time is another factor that plays into its strength. More complex fragrances, meaning fragrance oils that have top, middle, and base notes, tend to linger longer. The first impression you get of a fragrance oil is the scent of the top note. After the top note evaporates, you get the aroma of the middle notes. Finally, the base notes in the scent round it out, anchoring the scent and allowing it to linger longer. The stronger fragrance and more complex the notes, the longer it will typically linger.

Now, let’s talk about single notes scents. While some single note scents will still be strong and work well in a burner, often they tend to fade away a bit sooner than more complex scents. A single note scent doesn’t have base notes to anchor it.  So, while it might still be strong and wonderful, it is more likely it won’t have as much longevity when compared side by side to a more complex fragrance oil.

Other ways to Use Strong Fragrance Oils

Besides using these fragrance oils for standard wax melts or candle making, there are a lot of different applications for them. Another application for a strong fragrance oil is in our perfume and body spray recipes using a body safe fragrance oil. If you like to make a bold impression with your aroma, then this application is perfect for you to use. Nature’s Gardens’ recipes for different body spray and perfume recipes as well. Pink Sangria Soap RecipePink Sangria Soap Recipe

Fruity beverages always seem to bring an extra sense of brightness into anyone’s life. From the tart taste of lemon to the sweet juiciness of a plum, any kind of fruit can brighten anyone’s day. Nature’s Garden’s Pink Sangria Soap Recipe attempts to bring this same refreshing sensation into anyone’s household. This melt and pour soap recipe is easy for anyone to make. This recipe captures the fruity essence of cherries, oranges, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries. Below, we mention how you can make your own soap at home that smells just like sangria.

What is Sangria?

The sangria is a drink that has originated from Spain. You can mix this drink using red wine and chopped fruit. Traditionally, you could find this drink served in clay pitchers. Now, you can commonly find sangria mixed into wine glasses. No one has been able to find the true origin of the drink, but it can be traced back to Spain, England, and Greece. The drink has been traced back to the 18th century to another similar drink called Sangaree. The Sangaree was a drink served in the Caribbeans and could be served either iced or hot. There are many different combinations that you can put into the Sangria which make it such a unique drink. Traditionally, this drink can be mixed with any fruit that the user desires to put in it. Some of the fruits that are commonly added include blueberries, strawberries, lemon, grapes, pineapple, and many others. Other additions to Sangria that aren’t unheard of are brandy, sparkling water, and liqueur.

Properties of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour SoapProperties of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap

Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap is the soap of choice used in the Pink Sangria Soap Recipe. This soap contains a lot of unique properties, which make it the perfect fit for this recipe. This MP soap base has a translucent color to it that allows embeds to easily show when added to this soap. The shininess of the soap also makes for a nice glistening effect on your end product when you are done making it. For example, in this recipe, we used this soap because it allows the vibrancy of the fruit soap embeds to show the best. Another great property of this soap, as with any other melt and pour soap, is that it has a high moisturizing content. This soap contains 99.5% glycerin and deodorized distilled coconut oil.

Mini Cherries Mold
Lemon/Lime Slices Mold

Preparing the Orange Soap EmbedsPreparing the Orange Soap Embeds

The first fruit that will be included in our pink sangria soap is orange slices. So, we will start by creating these embeds. The first step is to melt 60 grams of the Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base. Thoroughly melt the soap in the microwave in 30-second intervals until it is a liquid state, stirring in between each 30-second burst. Once melted, add 4 drops of the Eye Poke Orange FUN Soap Colorant and 3 grams of the Sangria Fragrance Oil.  Stir to blend the ingredients together. Make sure that the orange color and the fragrance oil fully incorporate into the soap. Then, pour the orange soap into the orange slices mold.

Setting up the Orange Soap EmbedsSetting up the Orange Soap Embeds

After pouring the soap, spray it with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles. You want to allow adequate time for the soap to setup in the mold. Once the soap sets up, remove the embeds from the mold. Finally, you can set the orange slice embeds aside. They will be used in a later step.

Preparing and Setting up the Soap Cherry EmbedsPreparing and Setting up the Soap Cherry Embeds

The next fruit that goes into a sangria is cherries. So, the next embeds we need to create are the cherry soaps. To start off, you want to melt 30 grams of the Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap. Make sure that the soap is thoroughly melted. Melting the soap thoroughly will ensure that the cherry soap embeds are as smooth as possible. Once the soap has melted, add 3 drops of the tomato red FUN Soap Colorant and 1 gram of the Sangria Fragrance Oil. Stir the soap thoroughly to completely mix the red colorant and the fragrance oil.  Pour the red soap into the cherries mold and allow enough time to setup. When the soap appears completely hard, remove it from the mold.

Preparing and Setting up the Blackberry Soap EmbedsPreparing and Setting up the Blackberry Soap Embeds

The next fruit that goes into a sangria is blackberries. So, the next soap embeds we will be making for the Pink Sangria Soap Recipe are the blackberries. To start out, weigh out and melt 150 grams of Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base. Completely melt the soap base before moving on. To the melted soap, you want to add 11 drops of the Ultramarine Violet, 2 drops of the Black Oxide FUN Soap Colorant, and 7 grams of the Sangria Fragrance Oil. Stir the colors thoroughly into the soap until everything is thoroughly blended. Pour the dark purple melted soap into the berries mold. Set aside and allow adequate time for the soap embeds to completely setup. Once setup, remove them from the mold.

Preparing and Setting Up the Raspberry Soap EmbedsPreparing and Setting Up the Raspberry Soap Embeds

The next fruit that goes into a sangria is raspberries. Thus, the next soap embeds to make are the red raspberries. To start out, you want to weigh out and melt 150 grams of the Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base. Melt the soap base thoroughly before moving on. Next, add 2 drops of the Ultramarine Violet FUN Soap Colorant, 3 drops of the Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant, 3 drops of the Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant, and 7 grams of the Sangria Fragrance Oil. Completely stir the soap until all of the colors have blended together. You want to see a solid, uniform red raspberry color when you are done. Also, make sure to completely mix in the fragrance oil as well. Then, pour the red soap into the berries mold. Allow adequate time for the soap to setup and solidify. Once setup, remove the raspberry embeds from the mold.

Preparing and Setting Up the Strawberry Soap EmbedsPreparing and Setting Up the Strawberry Soap Embeds

The final fruit that goes into a sangria is strawberries. Thus, we are now going to create the strawberry soap embeds.  Start out by melting 230 grams of the Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap. Since there is more soap base here, allow adequate time for this soap to melt completely. After the soap is completely melted, add 11 grams of the Sangria Fragrance Oil and 10 drops of the Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant.  Stir the soap completely to allow the red color to mix in, as well as the Sangria Punch Fragrance Oil. Pour the melted red soap into the strawberries mold. Since the strawberries are thicker than the previous fruits that were made, you want to allow more time for these to set up. When you are pulling the strawberry embeds out of the molds, ensure that their centers aren’t liquid anymore. When you are sure they are completely solid, remove the strawberries from the mold.

Preparing the Soap BasePreparing the Soap Base

Now that all of the fruit soap embeds are done, the last of the soap to melt is the filling of the loaf portion of the soap mold. This portion is what holds all of the fruit soap embeds in place in the soap and represents the pink sangria portion of the soap. To do this, first, weigh out and melt 1650 grams of the Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base. Once again, you will need to melt the soap in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Next, add one drop of the Da Bomb Soap Dye and 82 grams of the Sangria Fragrance Oil to the melted soap base. Stir the ingredients together to completely incorporate the soap dye and the fragrance oil.  We have used the Da Bomb Soap Dye from Natures Garden for this portion. This will allow the clear soap base to maintain a translucent appearance.

Pouring and Finishing the SoapPouring and Finishing the Soap

Get the loaf molds out. Take the fruit molds you made earlier, and add them to the loaf molds. Position the fruit in the molds so they are adequately spaced, and there is a variety in each loaf mold. Adding variety to each soap mold will ensure that they look as colorful as possible when they come out of the molds. Next, pour the soap base from the previous step into the loaf molds, over the fruit embeds. Fill the loaf molds to cover everything inside of it. If you choose, you can spray the soap with rubbing alcohol.  However, we wanted our soap to have a bubbly look so we chose not to spray this portion. Once the soap is completely setup, remove it from the molds. The last step is to slice your soap using the mitre box and mitre box cutter. Your Pink Sangria Soap Recipe is now ready to be used. You can use them in the bathroom, or in the kitchen, take your pick, We hope you enjoyed this melt and pour soap recipe!

The Bahama Mama uses grapefruit, grenadine, orange juice, and a lot of different fruits. Next time the weather gets really hot, try making one of these drinks and refresh yourself.
