My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion

There are so many wonderful fragrance oils available at Natures Garden that can be used in scented lotion. Some of these scented oils are uniquely original NG aromas and other fragrances were inspired by amazing scents that already exist, but they are all great for making different homemade recipes. My name is Bailey and I love creating my very own homemade lotions! Also, I really enjoy the designer duplicates that Natures Garden has recreated, because it allows me to use some of my favorite scents in any recipes that I want! While you may have different opinions about your favorite lotion scents, I wanted to share some of my favorite fragrance oils for lotion.

Also, this scent has sensual musks and sandalwood that create a gorgeous scent. Such a gorgeous aroma! I love this scent in my scented lotions because it works as perfume, too. This lotion leaves my skin feeling soft and smelling absolutely captivating.

Next, we have my favorite scented oil for fall lotions. The Autumn Woods Fragrance Oil is a gorgeous duplication of Yankee’s Autumn Woods candle scent. While it was originally made for candles, it makes a fantastic lotion scent. The aroma is like a brisk walk through the park on a beautiful fall day with the scent of crisp fallen leaves, fresh pine, and sweet berries fallen from their branches. These scents create everything wonderful about this awe inspiring season. Of course, its one of my favorite scents for my autumn lotions.

Another fun scented oil to use in lotions is the NG Coconut Vanilla Type Fragrance Oil. This sweet tropical aroma is a scent that would be perfect for summer. The scent was created to smell like Yankee’s Vanilla Coconut, which is sweet and delicious. To recreate this aroma we used top notes of coconut, cream and sugar that are followed by middle notes of rose and lily of the valley. Initially, I tried this scent in homemade conditioner, but it has been a gorgeous scent for homemade lotions, too!

Next, we have the timelessly feminine aroma of the Class & Sass Fragrance Oil. This scent is both classy and sassy at the same time and I absolutely love it! This aroma was inspired by the marvelous scent of Coco Channel’s Chanel No. 5 perfume. This aroma starts with notes of fresh floral ylang ylang, sweet rose petals, and French jasmine top notes. Then, the middle notes are of vetiver and sandalwood. Then, the aroma finishes with a woodsy bottom that ties the entire fragrance together. The aroma was inspired by the scent of Bath and Body Works’ gorgeous Sunset by the Pool aroma. This fragrance at NG has notes of sparkling fruits, gorgeous and soft florals, sandalwood, and vanilla. This scent is such a perfect blend for a tropical summer fragrance oil that I just had to include it in my lotion bar supplies for this year!

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Daisy Type Fragrance Oil My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: Daisy Type Fragrance Oil

Another great scented oil for lotion making is the Daisy Type Fragrance Oil. This delightful floral aroma was created to match the scent of Marc Jacob’s Daisy perfume. Our rendition of this fragrance starts with tangy lemon and jasmine notes that are followed by middle notes of muguet lily, rose petals, African violet, and daylily. These layers are both sitting on a base of cedarwood, patchouli, and musk. This blend of gorgeous aromas creates a fragrance that is light and beautiful. Also, Black Raspberry Vanilla Fragrance Oil is another fantastic scent for creating lotion recipes. In fact, the first time I used this scent was in the Black Raspberry Vanilla Body Butter Recipe and it was such a delightful scent! This aroma was based on the scent of Bath and Body Work’s Black Raspberry Vanilla and NG made such a wonderful dupe. The blend of blackberries, raspberries, white floral, musk and vanilla creates a scent that is simply irresistible. This is one of my go to scents for daily lotion recipes and I just love it all year round.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Early Sunrise Type Fragrance OilMy Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: NG Early Sunrise Type Fragrance Oil

Plus, you can use the bright citrus scent of the NG Early Sunrise Type Fragrance Oil. This delightful scent was based on Yankee’s Early Sunrise candle scent. This aroma has fresh notes of  lemon, grapefruit, clementine, green floral notes, and amber woods that blend together to create a very uplifting aroma. This fragrance oil is perfect for creating a bright citrus hand cream for on the go. I like to throw a container of sunrise scented cream in my purse. This is perfect for when my hands get a little dry or I could use a scent pick-me-up throughout the day.

My Favorite Fragrance Oils for Lotion: How to Make Perfume Last

While you may think that wearing both lotion and perfume would just be too much, they can actually be used to compliment one another. I had assumed that using both would make the scent too strong, but I was so wrong in thinking that. In fact, combining perfume and lotion will make your scent last even longer than either would last alone! If you are curious on how to do this, then check out an amazing article by Style Caster called How to Layer Lotion and Perfume Without Overdoing It. Here you will learn a few tricks about smelling great and making your scent last longer!

Before you begin creating your skin loving shaving soap recipe, you need to make sure that you are fully prepared to create bath and body products. First, you are going to want to get together all of the supplies and ingredients that you will need to create this product. You are not going to want to have to stop working half way through your project to look for a mixer or a clean bowl. Plus, locating everything prior to working ensures that you will have everything you will need to finish your recipe. You don’t want to be half done and realize you are missing a key ingredient. So, get together everything you need and set it all near your work space.

Not only do you want to have a fun time creating this project, but you are going to want to make sure that your body product is clean. While this seems obvious, mistakes can happen if you are not prepared prior to working. So, you should make sure all of your equipment is cleaned and sanitized before you begin working. Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Clean, Sanitize, and Be Safe

Before beginning, you are going to want to create a workspace that is safe for both you and your product. Firstly, clean and sanitize any supplies that you will be needing for this recipe. Also, tidy up your workspace to make sure that you have an adequate space to create these bubble bars. Next, make sure that you have all of the necessary safety equipment to complete this recipe. Especially, make sure that you have some gloves and a mask on for this recipe as some of the powders in the recipe tend to float up into the air.

Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Weighing Dry Ingredients Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Weighing Dry Ingredients

Initially, you will be working on weighing all of the dry ingredients you will be using for this recipe. So, retrieve a medium sized mixing bowl and your measuring devices, you can use your scale or some measuring cups and spoons. Then, weigh out the 272 grams, or 1 cup, of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, 230 grams, or 1 cup, of Sodium Bicarbonate – Baking Soda, 112 grams, or 1/3 cup, of Cream of Tartar, and 36 grams, or 1/3 cup, of Corn Starch into your bowl in the specified amounts.

Then, you will want to mix these ingredients well to fully incorporate all the powders. You can use your hands or a mixing spoon, but we have found that it is easiest to mix with gloved hands. Further, you should pay attention to any clumps existing in this mixture. You should break up any clumps to make the mixture as smooth and evenly mixed as possible. Otherwise, your final product may have pockets of powder that never mix with the necessary ingredients.

Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Weighing Wet IngredientsBlackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Weighing Wet Ingredients

Next, you are going to be weighing your wet ingredients. So, retrieve a small mixing bowl and tare its weight from your scale. Now, add the 100 grams, or 1/3 cup, of Vegetable Glycerin, 12 grams, or 1 Tablespoon, of Macadamia Nut Oil, and 7 grams of Blackberry Bling Bling Fragrance Oil to the small bowl in their proper amounts. You will be using this mixture in the following step, so keep the bowl close.

Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Combining Wet and Dry IngredientsBlackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Combining Wet and Dry Ingredients

Now, you are going to combine all of your previously weighed ingredients. Grab your bowl of weighed wet ingredients and add it to your bowl of weighed dry ingredients. Mix this well to incorporate everything. Also, you have the option to add a bit more vegetable glycerin to the mixture if it is a bit crumbly. However, you do not want to add too much as this would make the recipe too wet to create a proper bubble bar. So, we’d recommend mixing in no more than a few drops at a time to avoid going over your limit.

Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Adding the ColorantBlackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Adding the Soap Colorant

Next, you will be adding the FUN Soap Colorant to the mixture you have created thus far. So, take your combined bowl of wet and dry ingredients and add the correct amount of Deep Purple FUN Soap Colorant, which is 7 grams. Mix the color in thoroughly and make sure that there aren’t any pockets of soap colorant left behind after you mix. So, the dough should be an even, pretty shade of purple all the way through the mixture.

Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Adding the Mica PowderBlackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Adding the Mica Powder

Next, you are going to be adding some shimmery mica powder to your purple dough mixture. So before you begin scooping, you are going to weigh out and add 1 gram of the diamond dust mica. So, use your scale to weigh the proper amount in your small bowl that you have used in a previous step. Then, mix the mica ingredient into your purple dough mixture. Also, try to make sure that you mix the dough thoroughly to create an even shimmer in your mixture and continue to break up any clumps that you may see throughout the creating process.

Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Scooping the Bubble BarsBlackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Scooping the Bubble Bars

Now, the mixture is ready for you to create the scoops. So, retrieve your small stainless steel scoop to shape your bubble bars. Simply spoon some of your dough mixture into your metal scoop and pack it into the scoop. You can pack it by pressing on the dough while it is inside the scoop. Doing this ensures that your bubble bar will hold its little ice cream scoop form. After, release the dough from the scoop onto your parchment paper or silicone baking mat. Repeat this until all of your dough has been scooped on your parchment paper or silicone baking mat.

Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Finishing TouchesBlackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Finishing Touches

Next, you will be completing a few last steps to complete your bubble bars. After you have all your little ice cream scoops on your parchment paper or silicone baking mat, then you are ready to add the finishing touches. Sprinkle about a gram or so of the diamond dust mica onto the scoops to add some extra shimmer to your products. You can add more if you’d like to, it all depends on how much mica dust you’d want to add. Then, you should let the bubble bars sit undisturbed, so they can harden and set up completely. This should take a couple of days, but they need this time to harden.

Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Ready to UseBlackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar Recipe Ready to Use

Finally, your bar bars are ready for you to use! After a few days have passed, your creations will be ready for you to take to the bath.  It is fairly simple to use this product, just crumble it under some warm, running water and there you have it! Since these bubble bars are smaller, you may want to use a couple if you are bringing them to a bubble bath. However, we are sure you’ll love the Blackberry Bling Bling Bubble Bar, as they are moisturizing, sparkly, and smell so good!

Have you created your own bubble bars?  We would love to see your creations too.  Post a pic on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram @ngscents.
