Create the Double BoilerSnap Bar Wax Tarts Recipe: Create the Double Boiler

Next, you are going to want to create the double boiler for this recipe. While you will still need to stir, the double boiler will be useful for preventing your wax from overheating. To create this device you will need two pots that will fit into each other. In the larger pot you will add water, which will be heated to a boil. Your pouring pot will act as the smaller pot for this recipe. Now, you will want to heat your water. Once the water is at a boil, set your pouring pot inside to melt the candle wax inside.

First, you are going to measure out the granulated candle wax for this portion of the wax melt recipe. So, you will want to add one ounce of the Pillar of Bliss Wax to your pouring pot. You are going to need to use your pouring pot device to melt your candle wax. Once your candle wax has completely melted, you are ready to move on to the next step in preparing this portion of the wax melts recipe.

Next, you are going to add the candle colorant to your melted Pillar of Bliss wax. So, you will need to cut a small amount off of the Royal Blue color block. You will want to add this small amount of candle dye to your melted wax and mix it in. Be sure to stir until all of the added color block is incorporated. Once you have a beautiful deep blue color, you are ready to move on to the next part of the process.

Once your wax has been colored, you can add the fragrance oil. So, you will want to add 0.10 ounce of the Independent Fragrance Oil. Once you add in the scented oil, you will want to mix everything together to make sure that the fragrance is fully incorporated. Then, you can move on to the next step in the process.

Now you are ready to pour your scented wax into the mold. So, you will want to retrieve your silicone loaf mold. However, this isn’t the only mold that you can use for this recipe. Instead, you could pour your candle wax into another silicone mold that you use for candle making or even a nonstick pan. If you use a pan, then we would recommend that you line your pan with wax paper to make it easier to remove.

After the blue wax portion has cooled and set up completely, you can remove it from the candle mold. You will want to use a knife to cut the blue candle wax into chunks. For our purposes, the chunks do not need to be even. Also, you may notice that you create little blue shavings as you cut. You will want to save both the chunks and the shavings. After everything has been cut, you will need to put this to the side for a later step.

Once everything has been mixed together, you are ready to move on to pouring the candle wax. If you are using the silicone loaf mold, then you will need to pour your red candle wax in another cavity. Anyone that is using a different candle wax mold can use that mold at this time. Again, you will want to wait for the candle wax to step up before moving on to the next step in the process.

Also, you will want to add a small amount of the white color block to your melted wax. You will want to stir until all of these candle making ingredients are mixed together well.
