Absinthe Fragrance Oil

Absinthe Fragrance Oil

Absinthe Fragrance Oil

A fragrance oil by Natures Garden-  Absinthe, also referred to as "The Green Fairy", is an anise-flavored, highly alcoholic beverage derived from the distillation of various herbs; including wormwood.  Absinthe was once banned around the world because it was portrayed as a dangerously addictive psychoactive drug that produced hallucinations, but this vilification of the liquor was never verified.  The ban on absinthe was lifted in the USA in 2007, and the sales of absinthe have skyrocketed since that time.  Traditionally, absinthe is prepared by placing a sugar cube on top of a specially designed perforated spoon.  Absinthe is placed in the glass below, and ice-cold water is drizzled slowly over the sugar cube.  The resulting liquid is cloudy in appearance.  A modern method, The "Bohemian Method" is another method of preparing absinthe for consumption.  This method involves setting the sugar cube on fire before drizzling the ice-cold water over the sugar cube. The sugar cube is soaked in absinthe prior to its lighting.  Obviously, our fragrance oil is not to be consumed.  We believe we have captured the taste of absinthe in the smell of our Absinthe fragrance.

Natures Garden's Absinthe fragrance oil is an aromatic blend of just the right combination of star anise, fennel, spicy cinnamon cassia, nutmeg, melissa, fresh green herbal notes, with base notes of amber and woods.

This scent is unique! My hubby loves it but it can be a female scent as well. Works great in M&P, lotions and soy candles and tarts. Not too much licorice/anise, and some warm spicy notes. Try it!

I adore this fragrance!!! It's so unique and has a fresh spiciness to me.
To my nose there is no true Absinthe scent per se, and I do pick up a tiny bit of cinnamon, but other notes seem to disguise the blend so well and complex.

It's been a main scent in my line for a few yrs now. Both men and women like it.

I only HP my soap with this one.

Two HUGE Thumbs Down!

1 Absinthe Fragrance Oil

Reviewer: from Clearwater, FL

This fragrance oil not only "slightly rices" it seizes soap almost immediately. I soap in the low 90's and I've been making the same cold process soap for nearly 9 years and I know what "slight ricing" is - this was a joke. Highly disappointed and will not take the fragrance testing notes into consideration in the future, they obviously are not always accurate.

I am making soap and bath bombs out of this and everyone who smells it has loved it! It's unique in a way that you don't see it everywhere. I've renamed mine Green Fairy so it's harder for people to catch on, but I've yet to find anyone who doesn't like this fragrance!

The Absinthe is clean with a hint of anise, turned out really nice in my soy candles.

Super Duper Fantastic!

Smells like amazing smells. Very Bohemian yet very chic. People love this fragrance, and it quickly became a best seller. I have only used it in translucent soap so I cannot speak to whether or not it accelerates since translucent soap is a hot process. Interestingly, after many weeks the bars darken. I use a bright neon green pigment to color and for several weeks they are Absinthe green, but they turn into an darker, more olive green after that. Still quite beautiful, but just weird that it takes so long for the translucent soap to darken.

Accelerates CP soap! Nice scent, not very much like true Absinthe liqueur, its heavy on the Clove but light on the anise and herbal notes. A very strong scent.

This scent accelerated and riced horribly!!!! I could not smooth it out so I just glopped it in the mold anyway. The next day it looked so sad still. So I rebatched it and it smells soooooo good. My colors I chose made my rebatch soap turn into a lovely deep mossy green and I called it Green Faerie. Everyone who smells this scent loves it even though it smells nothing like absinthe and the anise finishing note kind of disappears some.
