Please Note:  Prior to making this recipe, you will need to prepare the wine.  This is done by placing the wine on the stove top and boiling it for 30-40 minutes stirring periodically.  Then, weigh out 259 grams, and carefully pour the wine into ice cube trays.  Freeze the wine.  You can then use the frozen wine as half of the water portion of the water/lye solution.

Caution:  There is a chance that when mixing the wine and water with the lye, a volcanic effect may take place.  This is why it is recommended that you mix the frozen wine/water/lye in a deep mixing bowl in the sink.

Please Note:  Using a wine with a high sugar content will speed up gel. This will cause your soap batter to bubble up and out of the mold.   You will want to watch for this as well as take proper precautions at safe guarding the surface your mold is sitting on.  For this reason we also recommend using a dry wine when soaping.

Step 1: Prepare Your Grape Embeds: Use a scale to weigh out 132 grams of the Oatmeal Melt and Pour Soap Base.  Then, use a microwave to melt the soap. You want to melt in 30 second intervals.  Next, add 7 grams Tuscan Wine Fragrance Oil, 8 grams Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant, and 8 grams Deep Purple FUN Soap Colorant.  Pour the melted soap into the grape bunches mold. You will make 5 grape bunches. Allow them to setup before taking them out of the molds.

Step 2:  Prepare your wine lye solution.  First, weigh out the distilled water and the frozen wine. Then, slowly add a small amount of the sodium hydroxide (lye) to the water. Stir slowly to dissolve the lye.  Continue adding and stirring until you have added and mixed all of the lye with the water. Allow the temperature to drop to room temperature.

Step 3:  Next, prepare your oils and butters.  Weigh out and melt your oils and butters in a mixing bowl.

Step 4:  Prepare the cp soap colorant.  In a small bowl, mix spirulina powder with a small amount of your soaping oils.  Also, add the Kelly Green FUN Soap Colorant. Mix them together.

Step 5:  When the lye solution and oils have both come to room temperature, pour the lye solution into the bowl containing the oils.  Stick blend the contents of the bowl to emulsify.

Step 6:  Add the colorant you prepared earlier.  Once again, use your stick blender to mix the color into the batter.

Step 7:  Next, add Natures Garden’s Tuscan Wine Fragrance oil.  Use the stick blender to mix the fragrance oil into the soap batter.

Step 8:  Once your batter has reached trace, pour it into the square loaf mold.  Then, place the bunches of grapes you prepared earlier on top of the soap.

Step 9:  After about 24-48 hours you will be able to remove the soap from the mold.  Once removed, cut the soap and allow it to cure.
