Other Ingredients & Equipment
You'll Need:
6 Cavity Pigs Embed Soap and Candle
Mold (flexiblemolds.com)
Stirring Spoon
Stove
Scale
Knife
Toothpicks
Pot (for double boiler)
Apothecary Jar
Hot Glue Gun with glue
Disposable bowl
Step 1: Using the double boiler method, weigh and melt out 125 grams of Pillar of Bliss Wax.
Step 2:
Once the wax is
melted, add 1 toothpick tip of red spectrum candle dye. Next, add 10 grams of Hot Pink Lime Fragrance
Oil. Stir well to incorporate both the
color and scent.
Step
3: Now, get your pig embed mold. Carefully fill each embed opening with the
pink wax. When all of the pigs have been
filled, take the remaining wax and pour it into the disposable bowl. Allow bowl to set up at room temp, cut into chunks. Place pig embeds in freezer to allow them to set up faster.
Step 4: Using a hot glue gun, hot glue the bottom tabs of (2) CD
wicks to the bottom of your jar. Make
sure your wicks are centered and secured.
Step 5:
Next, using the
double boiler method again, weigh out and melt approximately 550 grams of Joy
wax.
Step
6: Once the Joy is melted remove it from the heat
source. Add 3 drops of Brown Spectrum
Candle Dye and one toothpick tip of Black Spectrum Candle Dye to the wax. Stir well to incorporate.
Step
7: Next, add 44 grams of Hot Pink Lime Fragrance Oil. Once again, stir. Set aside.
Step
8: Remove the pig mold from the freezer. Remove chunks from the bowl and place them into the candle jar
sporadically. When you are finished,
straighten your wicks.
Step
9: Now that the joy wax has cooled slightly, slowing pour
this over the pink chunks in your jar.
Stop the pour where
the jar starts to
change shape. Straighten your wicks
again if necessary. Allow this start setting up.
Step
10: Now, gently remove the pigs from the embed. Once your candle has started to set up, begin placing the
pigs into the top portion of the candle.
You will want to push
each pig slightly into the hardening wax to break the surface and secure the
pig in place. Allow your candle to
fully set up.
Your Pigs in the Mud candle is now ready.
Simply trim your wick, light, and enjoy!
