preparing this recipe.
Step
1: Prepare the Embeds: In a
small mixing bowl, weigh out 24 grams of Vegetable Glycerin and 21 grams
Arrowroot Powder. Mix these two
ingredients with a fork to make a paste.
Set aside.
Step
2: Next, in your microwave safe container, weigh out and
melt 112 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base in the microwave 30
seconds at a time. Stir gently. Keep
melting until all soap is in a liquid state.
Step
3: Once all the soap is melted, add 14 grams Fractionated
Coconut Oil and 13 grams Lunar Eclipse
Fragrance Oil. Stir Well. Then, add your paste mixture to the melted
soap mixture and stir thoroughly.
Step
4: Add your red colorant.
Through our testing we have found that in order to have a nice bold
color you will need to add 25-30 drops of Da Bomb soap colorant. If you are looking for more of a pastel color, add only 10-15 drops. Mix well. Finally, place your thermometer in the mixture and wait for the correct temperature.
Step 5:
Weigh out and add
your 3 grams Optiphen. Please remember, the preservative optiphen should be added to
your recipe when your mixture is between 110 degrees and 120 degrees
Fahrenheit. Mix well.
Step
6: Weigh out 80 grams of Arrowroot Powder. Do not add all 80 grams at once, you want to
add some, then work it in using a fork, add some more, etc; until all 80 grams
are used.
Step 7: Lay out a piece of wax paper. Then, weigh out 2 additional grams of
arrowroot powder. This additional 2
grams will be used to lightly coat your hands while you are kneading on the wax
paper.
Step 8:
Using a spatula,
scrap the soap mixture out of the bowl, and onto the wax paper. Coat your hands with
the arrowroot powder, and carefully start kneading the soap mixture. You will notice that it may still be tacky,
but keep kneading and coating your hands until all additional 2 grams of
arrowroot is used in the soap dough.
Step
9: When you are finished kneading, roll your dough into a
ball form and let set out 20 minutes.
Step 10: Prepare the Embeds: Once you have the
play dough made and dried, grab your embed mold vampire teeth. Since we are only using the embed soap for
the gum portion, weigh out 3 grams worth of the play dough soap, this is enough
to fill one gum portion. Do this for all
8 mold cavities.
Please
Note: Once you have your gum portion filled in the mold, take
a clean Q-tip and clear away any red
that is on the teeth portion of the mold.
You can also use the Q-tip to accentuate the arc of the top portion of
the teeth before pouring the soap into the mold.
Step
11: Next, weigh out and melt 136 grams of Goat's
Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base in the microwave 30 seconds at a time. Stir
gently. Keep melting until all soap is in a liquid state. Add 7 grams Lunar Eclipse Fragrance Oil;
stir well.
Step
12: Once the soap is scented, fill the remaining teeth
portion of the mold. Then, spritz with alcohol to
release any bubbles once the melted soap is in the mold. Allow this to set up at room
temperature. Do not spritz gum area with alcohol or it will disintegrate.
Step
13: Prepare the Denture Solution: In your microwave safe container, weigh out and melt 788
grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base in the microwave 30 seconds at a
time. Stir gently. Keep melting until
all soap is in a liquid state.
Step
14: Once all the soap is
melted, add 39 grams Lunar Eclipse Fragrance Oil and 3-4 drops Blue Da Bomb Soap
Colorant. Stir Well.
Step 15: Next, set your (4)
9oz clear solo cups out and pour about 1/2 inch worth of denture solution into
the cup. Spritz with alcohol. Allow this to set up at room temperature.
Step
16: Prep the Teeth: Grab the vampire
teeth mold, and place the mold upside down. Using your thumbs, apply gentle
pressure to the mold cavities. When the soap releases, trim off any soap over
pours. Set aside.
Step 17: If necessary, remelt the
unused portion of denture solution back to a liquid state. Do not over heat! Once the bottom layer of blue soap has set up in each
cup, carefully place one vampire teeth (with gum
portion down) into your cups. Pour enough blue soap to slightly cover these
teeth. Spritz
with alcohol. CAUTION: Do not pour HOT soap over teeth, this will
melt your embed. Allow this to set up
slightly but not
all the way.
Step
18: When your blue soap covering the teeth has cooled enough to have a slight film on it, quickly place your
second vampire teeth
(gum side up) into your cups. Fill the rest of the portion of the cups with
the remaining melted blue soap. Spritz with alcohol and
allow to set up fully.
Dracula's
Dentures Soap is now ready for use!
Enjoy!
