Other Ingredients & Equipment
You'll Need:
Pot (for double boiler)
Stove
Scale
Stirring Spoon
Knife
Cutting Board
Wax paper
Apothecary Jar
Ziploc bags
Star Cookie Cutter
Spoons
Step 1:
Open 2 Ziploc bags and place 225 grams of Pillar of
Bliss wax in each one. Then, to each bag weigh out and add 18 grams of Democrat fragrance oil. Now, to one bag place 4 drops of Spectrum Red
Candle Dye. Seal each Ziploc bag and
vigorously shake to disperse. Then, set
aside.
Step
2: Next, get your candle jar and using a hot glue gun,
attach 2 CD-12 wicks to the bottom. Make sure your wicks are equally spaced apart
and centered.
Step
3: Using the double boiler method, weigh out and melt 50 grams of beeswax over medium
to low heat. Stir the beeswax
occasionally as it melts.
Step
4: Once the beeswax is melted, add 2 drops of Spectrum Blue Candle Dye and stir. Once incorporated, place
your pouring pot back
into the heat source for now.
Step
5: Next, lay out your wax paper on a flat even surface.
Step
6: Weigh out 4 grams of Democrat Fragrance Oil. Remove your
beeswax from the heat source
and add the fragrance. Stir.
Step
7: Next, slowly
pour the beeswax unto the wax paper. Allow this to fully set up at room
temperature.
Step
8: Once cool to the touch, gently remove the beeswax from
the wax paper. Set the beeswax onto your
cutting board. Then, using your star cookie cutter, cut out
1 star.
Step
9: Now, firmly press the star to the inside wall of your candle
jar.
Step
10: Using your spoon, place some of the red pillar of bliss
wax inside the candle jar. Gently
flatten the wax down to make an even layer.
Then, do the same with the white pillar of bliss wax. Try to keep each colored layer about the same
size.
Step 11: Continue layering
both the red and white wax until your candle jar is full. Remember to straighten your wicks
occasionally.
Step
12: When finished filling, trim off the excess wick before
burning. Your democrat candle is now
ready!
