Clean & Sanitize your work area and all of your packaging materials. It is suggested that you wear gloves, protective clothing, and a hair net while preparing this recipe. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Each block of Natures Garden Goat's Milk Melt and Pour Soap is perforated into 40 cubes. Each cube is approximately 1 oz. You will need a total of 40 cubes of soap to make this recipe. Plus an additional 18 cubes of SLS Free glycerin melt and pour soap.
For the Coconut Bowl:
Blow up 2 balloons to the size of an actual coconut. Set aside.
This portion of the project will need 25 cubes of melt and pour soap. Place the cubes into a microwave safe dish. Melt the soap in 30 second increments. Continue this until all the soap is melted.
Once the soap is all melted, add 1 oz of FUN soap colorant brown oxide. Add 1/2 oz Coconut Lime Verbana fragrance oil. Stir.
Pour your melted soap into a large bowl that will allow for 3/4's of your balloon to be covered. Place a small piece of wax paper next to the bowl. This will be where your balloons sit in between dips.
Now, using your large spoon, carefully start pouring melted soap over the balloon. You will want to cover at least 3/4 of the balloon. After each layer, allow the balloon to sit on the wax paper. This will allow for a flat bottom so your cup will sit once the balloon is popped. Take turns between your 2 balloons, allowing them to harden slightly in between each layer. You are looking to have 4-5 layers of scented brown soap. Set aside.
Once the soap has set up, gently pop the balloon and remove any balloon particles. Using a knife, clean up your edges of the soap bowl. Set aside.
Note: During the layering process, it is very likely that you will have to remelt your soap to get it back into liquid form. Use 30 second increments in the microwave. You will want some imperfections (clumping) on the balloons to allow for an authentic coconut look.
Once all the soap is melted, add 5 drops FUN soap colorant lime green, and 4 drops FUN soap colorant Kelly Green. You will also add 20 drops of fragrance oil. Stir.
Pour mixture into lemon/lime slice mold. Spritz with alcohol to remove air bubbles. Set aside to allow for set up.
While the lime slices are setting up; it is time to prep the straw portion of your coconut soap bowls. Melt 3 cube of SLS free glycerin melt and pour soap. Once the soap is completely melted, add 5 drops Kelly Green Fun Soap Colorant and 7 drops of fragrance oil. Stir.
Quickly take an ice cube and flash freeze a small portion of your work area. Then, take a straw and standing it upright carefully fill the straw. Using a pipette for this task is highly suggested. Allow this to harden.
Note: There will be some soap that will leak from the bottom of the straw, once this hardens, the straw will easily be filled with the rest of the soap.
Assembly of the Coconut Lime Verbana Bowls:
Using the unpointed side of a kabob stick, gently force the soap out of the straw. Cut off the edges and side aside.
Take the coconut cups and fills them with several of the coconut lime verbana bites.
Place the straw into the coconut soap bowl you made.
Pop the lime slices and take two slices and make a small cut to each one. Place one lime slice on the edge of each cup. Place remaining lime slices inside of the bowls with the coconut lime verbana bites.
