Clean
& Sanitize your work area and all of your packaging materials. It is
suggested that you wear gloves, protective clothing, and a hair net while
preparing this recipe.
1.
Prepare the wax:
Step 1: Using the double boiler method discussed in one of our candle making
classes, melt 22 ounces of Joy Wax at 195 degrees.

Prepare the red layer:
Step 1: Once all the
wax has melted, weigh out 4 ounces of melted wax in a paper bowl. Place the remaining wax back into the double
boiler on very low heat.
Step 2: Let the temperature of the wax in the bowl to drop to 180 degrees. Add one drop red spectrum candle dye and 12 grams Candy Cane fragrance
oil. Stir.
Step 3: Bend one side of the bowl to
create a spout, then pour this into your candle jar. Let this layer start to set up, then place
(2) 51-32-18Z wicks into your jar. Now,
allow the layer to completely set up.
3. Prepare
the pink layer:
Step 1: Once again, weigh out 4 ounces of melted wax in a paper bowl. Place the remaining wax back into the double
boiler on very low heat.
Step 2: Let the temperature of the wax in the bowl to drop to 180 degrees. Place the tip of a toothpick into the red
spectrum candle dye, use the dye on the toothpick to color the wax in the
bowl. Add 12 grams Candy Cane fragrance oil.
Stir.
Step 3: Bend one side of the bowl to
create a spout, then pour this into your candle jar. Let this layer completely set up.
4. Prepare the White Layer:
Step 1: Again, weigh out 4 ounces of melted
wax in a paper bowl. Place the remaining
wax back into the double boiler on very low heat.
Step 2: Let the temperature of the wax in the bowl to drop to 180 degrees. Add 12 grams Candy Cane fragrance oil.
Stir.
Step 3: Bend one side of the bowl to
create a spout, then pour this into your candle jar. Let this layer completely set up.
REPEAT
the red layer steps and the pink layer steps an additional time. When your are finished you should have a
total of 5 layers in your candle jar.
5. Prepare
the embeds:
Step 1: While you are waiting on your
layers to set up, weigh out 1.5 ounces of Pillar of Bliss Wax.
Step 2: Using the double boiler method discussed in one of our candle making
classes, melt the pillar of bliss wax.
Step 3: Once all of the wax is melted,
add 1 drop of spectrum red candle dye.
Stir.
Step 4: Now add 25 drops of Candy Cane
fragrance oil. Stir.
Step 5: Carefully pour the melted,
fragranced, and scented wax into the swirl embed mold. Let this set up completely. Note:
Pouring the wax into the embed mold at too hot of a temperature will
cause the mold to warp.
Step 6: Once the swirls have set up
completely. Pop them out and set
aside.
6. Prepare
the wax whipped topping:
Step 1: With the remaining melted wax add 20 grams candy cane fragrance
oil. Stir. Once the fragrance oil has been stirred into
the melted wax, begin to whip it with a whisk.
You will notice as air is incorporated that the wax will become
fluffy. Once the wax has cooled,
thickened, and been whipped, begin scooping it into the top of the candle
jar. Continue this until the jar is
filled, and has whipped wax peaking out of the candle jar.
Step 2: Place several of the swirl wax
tarts onto the whipped wax.
Step 3: Curl the wicks with a
pencil.
