Deborah has been dealing with a lot of pain lately and has decided to look towards natural remedies to reduce some of this pain she has been experiencing. Her largest problems have been the inflammation in her joints and back that has been barely tolerable for her. This smoothie has been a perfect remedy for her and is what she has decided to drink once everyday to deal with these lingering issues.

Ingredients for the Anti Inflammatory Smoothie Recipe

2 Green Apples

1 1/2 cups prune juice or 7 pitted prunes with 1 1/2 cups of water

1 tablespoon turmeric

1 inch peeled ginger root

1 whole squeezed lemon

1 tablespoon Maca Root Powder

1/8 Teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil

 How to Create the Anti Inflammatory Smoothie Recipe

DSC_0030Simply combine the apples, turmeric, ginger root, lemon juice, maca powder, black powder, and coconut oil with either prune juice or seven prunes and water. Add all of these measured ingredients into a blender. Then, blend everything until it appears to be the constancy of a smoothie and enjoy all of your health benefits!

How Does our Anti Inflammatory Smoothie Recipe Work?

DSC_0010First of all, turmeric is a strong, natural anti-inflammatory with a plethora of health benefits. Due to the active ingredient Curcumin, this bright yellow herb has pain relieving properties and tons of benefits. Some of these benefits include easing the symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease, arthritis, or other issues caused by inflammation.

DSC_0023DSC_0027Both black pepper and coconut oil are elements that will help your body absorb turmeric into your system to gain the maximum benefits from this herb. First, black pepper has a component called piperine that increases turmeric absorption by over 100%. Second, coconut oil is needed for turmeric to dissolve. Since turmeric is oil soluble, a natural fat is necessary for the herb to fully dissolve.

Ginger root was included in this recipe as a second anti-inflammatory agent and an aspirin mimicking herb. Similarly to turmeric, ginger has quite a bit of pain relieving benefits. The reason ginger root was included in this smoothie was because it is a natural suppressant of toxins in the body that have been known to cause inflammation and damage in joints.

People don’t say “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” for no reason. Apples have a lot of amazing health benefits! Whether you want to reduce your risk of cancer, Alzheimer’s, and hemorrhoids or want to reduce cholesterol and detox your liver, apples seem to have your back. These under appreciated little wonders are the perfect addition for this health smoothie.

The prunes were included to this smoothie to increase the overall benefits. First, prunes are high in fiber, which assists with digestion. Second, this fruit has a lot of natural sugars. While this fruit does provide energy and have sugars, the high fiber prevents the a high blood sugar increase. Lastly, this component is great for iron intake for red blood cells and boron for strong muscles and bones.

The lemon in this recipe was added for its health benefits as well. This simple citrus fruit has a wide variety of helpful components for your body. Most obviously, they contain Vitamin C to boost the immune system. Also, they contain Vitamins B1, B2, B3, and B6 that are vitamins the body needs but can’t produce on its own. Further, lemons detoxify your liver and balance your internal pH levels.

This powder was added as an amazing supplement for women health, especially those with menstrual issues or menopause. Further, this herb is another good source of iron. This has been a good supplement for energy and stamina, too. Additionally, maca contains vitamins C, B3, and B6 as well as calcium and potassium.

Feel free to replace or add elements of this smoothie to create a drink that is best for your health needs.
