Creme Brulee Lip Scrub Recipe: Melting the Lip Balm Base and the White Chocolate Wafers

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub RecipeInitially, you will need to find a scale that will measure in ounces. Be sure the units are set to the ounce measurement. Now, you will need a microwave safe bowl.  Then, use your scale to weigh out 4 ounces of Natures Garden’s all natural lip balm base. Next, you are going to melt the lip balm base. You can use a microwave for a minute or so to melt the lip balm base, but make sure that your lip balm base doesn’t get overheated. Remove the bowl from the microwave after a minute has passed and stir the lip balm base to determine whether it is entirely melted or needs to be microwaved longer. You shouldn’t do intervals much longer than a minute. Doing so could cause the base to overheat.

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub RecipeSecond, you will need to prepare the addition of the white chocolate wafers. Add 5 of your white chocolate wafers to a different microwave safe bowl. You will want to melt the chocolate in the microwave, but the chocolate will not need to be heated for very long. It should only take about thirty seconds for the wafers to melt. It is important that the chocolate is not burnt to preserve the taste for the lip scrub. So, if you need to microwave the chocolate longer make sure you are watching it carefully.

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub Recipe: Combine Base Ingredients

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub RecipeNow, you are going to combine the lip balm base, white chocolate, and Crème Brulee Flavoring into the bowl with the lip balm base. Once the white chocolate wafers and lip balm base are both melted, you can add the white chocolate to the liquid lip balm base. Next, using a pipette, add 20 drops of Creme Brulee flavor oil into the bowl of melted base. Quickly and thoroughly mix these ingredients together.

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub Recipe: Separate the Top Layer From Base Mixture

Next, you will separate a portion of the base for later use. Since you will need to create a top layer for your crème brulee lip scrub, some of the lip balm base mixture needs to be separated out. So, grab the scale from before and make sure the units remain on ounces. Take your bowl containing the melted base. Weigh out 1 ounce of this mixture into a separate microwave safe bowl. This 1 ounce of lip balm base will be used as the top layer in a later step, but you can set it aside for now.

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub Recipe: Pouring the Bottom Lip Balm Layer

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub RecipeYou will create the bottom layer of the lip scrub in this step. Your bottom layer will be creme brulee flavored lip balm.  Take your ten 10 ml. clear jars and line them up. You will need to pour the remaining 3 ounces of base lip balm mixture carefully to create a clean bottom layer in the jars. So, try to limit the lip balm getting on the sides of your jars as much as humanly possible. The jars should be filled with this base layer to just under two thirds of the way to the rim of the lip balm jar. This should leave you with about a third left to include the top layer. It is not extremely important whether you get this proportion perfectly accurate, but make sure you will have enough room for a thinner top layer to be added on in a later step.

While it is easier to just avoid getting the lip balm base on the sides of the jar to begin with, we all know that accidents can happen. Luckily, these splashes and misses that cling to the lip balm pot can be cleaned up. Simply take a toothpick and carefully remove excess white lip balm that is above the level of the layer. This will prevent streaks of white from being visible after the top layer is added. Be careful not to poke the toothpick into the layer around the edges, as this will be seen later through the clear jar.

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub Recipe: Creating the Top Layer

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub RecipeNext, you are going to create the top layer. At this point, it is likely that the mixture you set aside for the top layer has hardened. While you will need to re-melt this portion of the base, this step will be quick and it is important that the base layer is set up before you begin. So, you may want to wait a minute before starting this step. However, use your own discretion. If the bottom layer looks like it is already set up, then there is no need to delay.

Next, retrieve the 1 ounce of the lip balm base mixture you previously set aside. Your top layer cannot be reheated once the sugar is added. The sugar has the potential to melt or burn, which would ruin the lip scrub. Now, you can reheat this mixture in the microwave in thirty second increments. Weigh out 1 ounce of your brown sugar, add it to the base and stir. These combined ingredients will begin to make the mixture feel thick, don’t panic you still have some time. Take a spoon and scoop the top layer into the 10 ml. jars. We suggest scooping slightly more than you need, pushing down lightly to push the layers together, and smoothing the excess off the top. Once you have filled the jars, feel free to smooth out the tops. Finally, your lip scrubs are complete!

Creme Brulee Lip Scrub Recipe: Using the Scrub

When you use this brown sugar scrub simply place a bit on your lips and scrub away.  The exfoliation of this recipe comes from brown sugar scrub, which is intended to remove any chapped skin to create more smooth, luscious lips. Our all natural lip balm base provides the moisturizing power that your lips need this time of year. The brown sugar offers a gentle exfoliation that your lips are sure to love!  You can then follow this sugar scrub up with a little bit of the bottom lip balm layer.  We are sure you will find this recipe just as delightful as we have. The scrumptious taste of this lip balm recipe comes from our Crème Brulee lip balm flavoring and a touch of white chocolate wafers. The combination of these lovely ingredients creates a lip scrub recipe that is super cute and perfect for the winter season!

We hope that you love this recipe and enjoyed creating your own Crème Brulee Lip Scrubs. It both looks and smells like a delicious dessert with an added benefit of tasting delicious. I probably shouldn’t lick the scrub off right after putting some on, but I just haven’t been able to help myself. Plus, the recipe creates quick a bit of lip scrubs, which is perfect for sharing with loved ones or saving for the holidays. Since Christmas is right around the corner, you could use these tasty lip scrubs as stocking stuffers or small gifts for your friends and family. This creation would definitely be a great gift, but I couldn’t really blame you for saving all ten for yourself.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Melting Your Melt and Pour Soap

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Melting Your Melt and Pour SoapFor the first step you will want to use a medium, microwave safe bowl. Use a scale to weigh out and cut up 413 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap. This can be melted in a microwave for a minute or so. Make sure you don’t put in for too long because you don’t want your soap to get too hot. Getting your soap too hot could happen very easily if you leave the soap unattended so be sure to watch as you microwave. We suggest that you take the soap out periodically and mix it to prevent this. While there may be some soap chunks remaining in the bowl, the soap may be hot enough to melt the soap chunks as you mix. If it isn’t hot enough, then stick it back in the microwave for a few more seconds and try again. Note that for the next few steps you will want to move a bit faster because the soap will begin to set up as it cools.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Scenting Your Melt and Pour Soap

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Scenting Your Melt and Pour SoapFor your second step you will be adding Natures Garden’s Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Fragrance Oil to your already melted soap. Using your gram scale, add 4 grams of the Goodie Goodie Gum Drops Fragrance Oil to your medium sized bowl of melted diamond clear melt and pour soap. Be sure that you do not add more than 4 grams of this fragrance because it has a body safe limit of 1% of the weight for the total recipe. Mix the fragrance oil in quickly and get ready to separate the soap into the small four bowls. If your melt and pour soap begins to set up, you can add it to the microwave for a few seconds. However, it cannot become too hot or the fragrance oil will burn off! So, you will need to be quick and ready to go.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Separate Your Melt and Pour Soap

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Separate Your Melt and Pour SoapFor the next step you will be taking your medium sized bowl to equally divide the melted soap into four small bowls. Each of your bowls will be used to create one of four different colors from the scrumptious gumdrop soaps. Now, using your scale, weigh out approximately 103 grams of the scented melt and pour soap in each bowl.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Color Your Green Soap

Next, we will be adding various Fun Soap Colorants to the bowls. This will create a variety of colored gumdrops! First, you will be creating some great green goodie gumdrop soaps! Take one of your previously weighed small bowls of melt and pour soap. Next, add 4 drops of our neon green fun soap colorant. This will give your soap a bright green candy color. Now, stir until the fun soap colorant has been evenly distributed throughout the melted soap. Pour the green soap into the first row of the gumdrop mold and spray with alcohol. Make sure that any soap that is remaining on top of the mold is wiped away to prevent the other gumdrops from color transfer.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Color Your Pink Soap

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Color Your Melt and Pour SoapNext, you are going to create your pretty pink gumdrop soaps! Take your next small bowl that has 103 grams of melt and pour soap. Stir in 2 drops of our neon pink fun soap colorant. Also, add 2 drops of our ultramarine violet fun soap colorant. After the dye has been mixed in evenly to create a vibrant pink hue, pour the soap into the second row of the gumdrop mold. Spray your pink soap with alcohol and wipe the excess soap from the top of the mold.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Color Your Blue Soap

Now, it’s is time for you to create your scrumptious blue gumdrop candy melt and pour soap! Take another small bowl of melted soap. Now, stir in 5 drops of the neon blue fun soap colorant. Also, add 1 drop of the ultramarine violet fun soap colorant. Once the dye has been mixed in well, pour the soap into the third row of the mold and spray this row with alcohol.  Also, wipe any soap poured above the indent.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Color Your Orange Soap

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Color Your Melt and Pour SoapFinally, you will be making the fantastic orange gumdrop soap! Grab one of the small bowls of melted soap. Stir in 8 drops of neon orange fun soap colorant. Once all of the melt and pour soap is evenly orange, pour the soap into the last row of the gumdrop mold. Spray the final row with alcohol and be sure that the orange melt and pour soap can’t get into another row.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Unmolding Your Melt and Pour Soaps

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Unmolding Your Melt and Pour SoapsNow it’s time to play the waiting game for a few minutes. Although it doesn’t take too long to set up, you must make sure that the melt and pour soap has completely set up. If you wish to speed up the soap’s cooling process, you have the option to move your filled soap mold to your refrigerator. Just make sure that your soaps are set up just enough on the top to be able to move the mold without creating ripples on the top of your soaps. You can tell whether they’re ready by watching the tops and slowly moving. If it looks too liquid, wait longer. Eventually, the soap will be entirely set up, either on its own or with some help from the fridge, and you will be able to pop the cute little melt and pour candy soaps out of the gumdrop mold.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Sweetening Your Melt and Pour Soaps

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Sweetening Your Melt and Pour SoapsAs a final step you can use some white, granulated sugar to make your melt and pour soaps look more realistic. This is the step that really makes these little candy soaps look realistic! Adding sugar doesn’t reduce the quality of the soap, as the sugar can wash right off before use. Now, spread a nice layer of your white cane sugar on a plate. Then, spray one of your gumdrops with some rubbing alcohol to get the sugar to stick to the soap better. Now you can lightly roll the sprayed gumdrop soap in the white sugar to get an even coat on the little soap. You can repeat the spraying and rolling steps with the other melt and pour gumdrop soaps.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Sweetening Your Melt and Pour SoapsFinally, this should leave you with the finished product of sixteen irresistibly cute gumdrop melt and pour soaps! These sweet little soaps are ready to use but, so cute that you may not want to wash them away. Instead, you may decide to use these sweet candy soaps to decorate your home. These little melt and pour goodies would be perfect with the round silicone cupcake molds as your soap dish! On the other hand, you could attempt to trick a friend into trying the candy scented soap, since these soaps are just realistic enough to work. Just don’t let them actually eat them! Regardless of how you intend to use these festive holiday melt and pour soaps, they are guaranteed to add a bit of holiday cheer to your home.
