Before you begin creating you own homemade hair care recipe, you need to make sure that your work space and equipment is clean. First, you will need to gather and sanitize the equipment you will need for this  cosmetic recipe. If you don’t combine your oil and water phases at the right temperature, then you may not have a proper emulsion. This would mean that your final product would separate in a similar fashion to the way Italian dressing would separate.

Once both the herbal infused water and the melted oils are both around 140 degrees Fahrenheit, you are ready to blend these two phases. While your cosmetic ingredients will be mixed thoroughly, your conditioner recipe will still be thin until it cools.
