Raspberry Fragrance OilsRaspberry Fragrance Oils

It’s almost summertime! My favorite season of the year. I adore the sun, the heat, swimming and camping! Also, summer is cookouts, bonfires, ice cream cones and thunderstorms. The list is endless when it comes to summertime activities. Summer also brings out some amazing smells. If you live in the country, on a farm or just like to take a drive through the country, then you are aware of the wide range of smells you can get. There are good smells, like fresh cut hay, fresh cut grass, honeysuckle, and the air after it rains. Then there are some *ahem* not so good smells. I’m pretty sure I don’t need to list those as we are very aware what those might be.  Summer also brings out the gardens of flowers, fruits and vegetables! Sunflowers, raspberries and corn on the cob are just some of the best things about summertime.  Nature’s Garden has just some of the best smelling raspberry fragrance oils. So, if you are looking for some new summertime fragrances to enhance or add to your line of products, we are sure you will find something to help you out!

Raspberry Fragrance Oils: Blue Raspberry Slushie Fragrance OilRaspberry Fragrance Oils: Blue Raspberry Slushie Fragrance Oil

I think out of all the flavors of slushies you can get at your favorite ice cream stand or gas station pit stop, Blue Raspberry is always the most popular. This fragrance captures the aroma of ripened raspberries, sugary cotton candy, and the effervescence of crushed ice.  This trip back to childhood truly smells good enough to slurp…but I wouldn’t suggest it!

This fun summertime fragrance oil is one of Nature’s Garden’s best sellers! It works beautifully in all candle waxes and in air fresheners. In our cold process soap testing Blue Raspberry Slushie had no ricing or acceleration, however, there was some separation, but it did reabsorb. There was some discoloring to a light tan. Vanilla white color stabilizer is suggested to help prevent this. Still, the scent retention stayed strong throughout its cure time.

Blackberry Jam FragranceBlackberry Jam Fragrance Oil – Fragrance Spotlight

Natures Garden’s Blackberry Jam Fragrance Oil is a bestselling fragrance.  One might ask “what is the difference between jam and jelly.  Jam, jelly and preserves are all made with fruit that is mixed with sugar and pectin, an indigestible carbohydrate or fiber.  Pectin can be found in the cell walls of most fruit.  When heated with sugar in water, it gels, giving jam, jelly and preserves their thickness.  Jam is made from the crushed pulp of the fruit while jelly is made strictly from the juice of the fruit.  And in preserves, the fruit comes from chunks in a syrup.  You can tell the difference between jam and jelly by sight as jelly spreads pretty evenly and jam will tend to be a little lumpy.

Would you like to your own homemade blackberry jam?  Using the ingredients below and following the 10 steps below, it’s super easy.

What you will need:

5 cups of crushed blackberry (do not puree)

7 cups of sugar

1 package of fruit jell pectin

Step 1:  Very carefully measure out the blackberries

Step 2:  Place the blackberries into a very large pot

Step 3:  Add the pectin to the blackberries in the pot, stirring constantly

Step 4:  Heat the blackberry and pectin mixture on high, while constantly stirring until the it comes to a full boil

Step 5:  Pour all 7 cups of sugar into the pot and stir

Step 6:  Stir constantly as you bring the mixture back to a boil and allow to boil for one minute and then remove from heat

Step 7:  Ladle the mixture into your jars leaving a 1/4″ space at the top

Step 8:  Wipe the rim of the jars and place the canning tops on firmly

Step 9:  Place all of the jars in a canner with very hot water and make sure the water is 1″ above the tops of the jars, leaving them in the water for 10 minutes

Step 10:  Remove the jars from the water.  Then allow the jars to sit untouched for 12 hours.  In 12 hours, you may open and enjoy!!

Apple Pecan Sage FragranceApple Pecan Sage Fragrance Oil Spotlight

Again, another amazing apple aroma. After some brief research on Wikipedia, I can tell you that “pecan” comes from a Native American word meaning ‘a nut that requires a stone to crack.’ No stones needed to open this fragrance oil. (There’s a lot of cool information on that pecan page; learn something new!) Pecans, much like our friend the almond, are drupes- not technically nuts- but in my experience, the more you try to convince someone you’re not nuts, the more nuts you seem. The important part is that the nutty scent of pecans goes well with apples and spicy sage. Sage is a natural deodorizer and has many additional uses that you can read about in our Sage Class. (Our fragrance oil is for smelling purposes only- but we do sell sage leaf, sage incense smudging wands, and white sage leaves for all of your sage needs!)

How Do Our Customers Use Apple Pecan Sage Fragrance Oil?

They create candles! This spicy, nutty, apple aroma performs perfectly in joy wax and wow wax, and is nice and strong in soy wax. It is not gel wax compatible. The maximum recommended usage percentage of this spicy sweet scent in vegetable waxes and paraffin waxes is 10%. Our coloring recommendations for candles are to use four drops of red liquid candle dye per four pounds of wax or shred a small amount of red color block in your melted wax. (Coloring with crayons will clog your wick; don’t do it!)

They make savory soaps! The maximum recommended usage percentage for this bountiful bouquet in soaps, bath oils, bath gels, and cleaning products is 5%. Our cold process soap testing results found that CP soap made with this fragrance had perfect pour with plenty of time to play. (I smell swirls!) There was no ricing, no acceleration, and slight oil separation, but it absorbs back into the soap. The scent stays very strong, and the soap discolors to a brown color. This might be due to the fact that this full-bodied fruit fragrance has a vanillin content of 3% (but truthfully, over 40 ingredients can cause discoloration). Vanilla White Color Stabilizer may help prevent discoloration due to vanilla. Testing will need to be done by the customer with all fragrances they choose. Our coloring recommendations for bath and body products made with this awesome apple aroma are to use red soap colorant in the amount that satisfies you.

How about lotions and perfumes? The maximum recommended usage percentage of this savory scent in perfumes and lotions is 5%. It was found to perform perfectly in perfumes.

And room scents? Sure! The maximum recommended usage percentage for this autumn aura in incense and potpourri is 50%. It comes across nice and strong in aroma beads.

Hi my name is Caitlyn and I am a senior at Fairview High School. My friend Kacie and I are shadowing Nature’s Garden for our senior project. Senior project at Fairview is optional, but we are given the freedom to choose a business of our liking to shadow for the last two weeks of the school year. Kacie and I wanted to do something different and fun so when we found Nature’s Garden we thought it was the perfect fit. On our first day we had the opportunity to spend time at the Fragrance Bar where we got to sample the smells of Nature’s Garden’s many fragrance oils.
