Make A Few Preparations for the Pearamel Soap RecipeMake A Few Preparations for the Pearamel Soap Recipe

Prior to making this cold process soap recipe, you are going to want to make a few preparations for the Pearamel Soap Recipe. First of all, you are going to want to gather the soap making ingredients that are listed for this cosmetic recipe. Also, you are going to need to clear a work space to give yourself the space that you would need for small batch soap making. Also, you will want to prepare a spray bottle of vinegar for you to use for soap making. If you have not made cold process soap in the past, you will want to read both our Basic CP Soap Making Class and our guide to Soap Making Safety.

Also, you need to create a chickweed tea.  Fill two fillable teabags with chickweed.  Then, boil water and add the tea bags.  The water portion of this recipe will be replaced with the tea.  So, you need to make sure you have plenty of the chickweed tea.  For this recipe, you will need 409 grams of the tea.  You will want to boil extra water to ensure that you have enough for this recipe as some will evaporate.

Prepare the Lye Solution for the CP SoapPrepare the Lye Solution for the CP Soap

Now, you will need to prepare your lye solution for the cp soap.  In order to prepare your lye solution, you will need to weigh out the chickweed tea in a bowl.  Once you have weighed out your tea, weigh out your lye in a separate bowl.  Then, slowly add the lye to the tea.  Add a small amount of the lye and then stir using a rubber spatula.  Repeat this process until you have added all of the lye to the tea.  Allow the lye solution to cool to room temperature.  Once the lye solution has cooled, add the sodium lactate.

Prepare the Soaping Oils for the Pearamel Soap RecipePrepare the Soaping Oils for the Pearamel Soap Recipe

It will take some time for the lye solution to cool.  So, while you are waiting for your lye solution to cool, you can move on to preparing your soaping oils.  Weigh out all of the soaping oils listed above.  Then, melt the oils.  You will also want to allow your soaping oils to come to room temperature.

Prepare Your Pearamel Soap Recipe ColorantsPrepare Your Pearamel Soap Recipe Colorants

Once you have prepared your soaping oils, you can set them aside to cool and begin preparing your soap colorants.  For this recipe, we will prepare a white colorant and a green colorant.  The third caramel color in this recipe was created simply by allowing the soap to naturally discolor to its caramel color caused by the Pearamel Fragrance Oil.  In addition, your will need to weigh out 27 grams of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.

Prepare the White Soap Colorant

In order to prepare the white soap colorant, we will use titanium dioxide.  So, in a small bowl, add 8 grams of titanium dioxide and a small amount of your soaping oils.  Mix the two ingredients together with a spoon.  By adding the oils to the titanium dioxide, it will prevent the white colorant from clumping when you add it your soap batter and allow it to disperse easily.  You can set the white colorant in your soaping area so it will be ready when you are ready to soap.

Prepare the Green Soap Colorant

Next, we will prepare the green soap colorant.  You will need another small bowl.  To this bowl, add 10 drops of the Lime Green FUN Soap Colorant along with 2 drops of the Natures Garden’s Kelly Green FUN Soap Colorant.  Mix the two colorants together.  You can also set this colorant in your soaping area.  It will be used when we begin soaping.

Prepare the Pearamel Fragrance OilPrepare the Pearamel Fragrance Oil

At this time, prepare the Pearamel Fragrance Oil.  You will need to prepare two small bowls of fragrance oil.  To each of these bowls, add 27 grams of the Pearamel Fragrance Oil from Natures Garden.  Since we will be dividing our soap batter prior to scenting it, separating the fragrance oil into two smaller portions is going to be the easiest way to do this.  It will allow you to move more quickly when soaping.

Combine the Lye Solution and Soaping Oils
Combine the Lye Solution and Soaping Oils

Once your soaping oils and the lye solution have come to room temperature, you are reading to begin soaping.  So, add the soaping oils to the lye solution.  Finally, use your stick blend the to emulsify the soap batter.

Separate Your Soap Batter
Separate Your Soap Batter

Next, you will need to divide your soap batter into three bowls.  So, pour one-third of the soap batter into each bowl.  Set two of the bowls aside for just a moment.

Prepare the Uncolored Soap BatterPrepare the Uncolored Soap Batter

First, we will work with the portion that will remain uncolored.  To this bowl, add 27 grams of the Natures Garden Pearamel Fragrance Oil.  Use your stick blender to incorporate the fragrance oil.

Prepare the White Soap Batter
Prepare the White Soap Batter

Next, you will want to prepare the white soap batter.  So, too the second bowl add the titanium dioxide mixture you prepared earlier.  This portion of the soap will remain unscented.  Once again stick blend and set this bowl aside for the moment.

Prepare the Green Soap Batter
Prepare the Green Soap Batter

Finally, you will need to prepare the green soap batter.  So, to your third bowl, add the green colorant, 27 grams of the Pearamel Fragrance Oil and 27 grams of the Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Using your stick blender, mix the ingredients together.

Pearamel Soap RecipePearamel Soap Recipe

At this time, we will begin pouring the soap batter into the loaf mold.  We will begin by pouring the uncolored portion into the soap mold.  Pour the soap into the soap mold. Once you have this base color poured, you can begin pouring the other two colors into the mold.  Alternate between the green and the white.  You will need to use all of the green soap batter and about half of the white soap batter.  We will be saving half of the white for the top of the soap.  You can set this portion aside for a few minutes.

Once you have poured all three colors of soap batter into the mold, place a wooden skewer into the mold and make circular motions throughout the soap mold.  This will create swirls throughout the loaf of soap.  Once you are satisfied with your swirls, tap the mold gently on your tabletop to release any air bubble in the soap batter.

Topping Pearamel Soap Topping Pearamel Soap

Now, we will begin topping the loaf of soap using the remaining white soap batter.  You want to wait until your white soap batter has a nice thick frosting-like consistency.  Once your remaining white soap batter is at a thickened, simply place it on top of the soap in a mountain-like shape.

Adding the Caramel Drizzle to the Pearamel SoapAdding the Caramel Drizzle to the Pearamel Soap

The last thing we will do to the soap loaf is add a caramel colored drizzle.  So, melt the cocoa butter melt and pour soap base.  Then, add the oxide colorants, Pearamel Fragrance Oil, and Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Gently stir to blend the ingredients. Finally, use a disposable pipette to drizzle the caramel color soap across the white soap batter.

Cut the Pearamel CP Soap and Allow it to CureCut the Pearamel CP Soap and Allow it to Cure

Wait about 24-48 hours before removing your soap from the mold.  When the soap is ready, cut the pearamel cp soap into slices.  Once you have allowed 4-6 weeks for your soap to cure, it is ready to use.
