Today, we will show you how to make a fun and festive melt and pour confetti soap.  This soap is not only layered, we’ve also added both confetti and streamers.  This soap is not only full of bright colors, it also would make a wonderful birthday gift or a great addition to your handcrafted gift baskets.  In addition to a festive look, it is also scented with Natures Garden’s Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake Fragrance Oil.

 

Melt and Pour Confetti Soap:  Ingredients and Supplies You Will Need

Cutting Board
Scale
Microwave safe glass containers
Large Knife
Microwave
Mixing Spoons
Wax Paper
Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle

 

Melt and Pour Confetti Soap:  Total Recipe Weights for the Red Soap:

42 grams Oatmeal Melt and Pour Soap
9 drops Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant
2 grams Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake Fragrance Oil
2 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer
1 gram Vegetable Glycerin

228 grams Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap

Melt and Pour Confetti Soap: Prepare the Soap for the Confetti and StreamersMelt and Pour Confetti Soap: Prepare the Soap for the Confetti and Streamers

We will prepare six colors of soap for the confetti and streamers portion of  this recipe. Each of the colors will be poured on a piece of wax paper. Once it sets up, we will cut half of the soap for streamers and half for confetti. By pouring the soap on a piece of wax paper, it will allow us to create a very thin layer of soap. We will also add a small amount of vegetable glycerin to give the soap some additional flexibility.

We will begin with the red soap. So, in a small mixing bowl, add 42 grams of the Oatmeal Melt and Pour Soap Base. In the microwave, melt the soap in 15 second intervals. Be careful not to overheat the soap base.  Next, add the tomato red FUN Soap Colorant, Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake fragrance oil, Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and vegetable glycerin. Once again, use the guide above to determine how much FUN Soap Colorant, fragrance oil, and vegetable glycerin to add. Stir well to completely incorporate the ingredients. Finally, pour your red soap onto a sheet of wax paper. Spray you red soap with rubbing alcohol to eliminate any air bubbles. Allow this to setup.

Once the soap has setup, remove it from the wax paper.  Then, cut it in half.  Cut one half into tiny squares.  Cut the second half into thin strips and curl them in spirals.  Place the confetti pieces in one bowl.  Then, the spirals in a second bowl.

Now, we will prepare the pink soap. So, in your mixing bowl, melt 42 grams of the oatmeal mp soap base in your microwave in 15 second intervals. Use caution so that you do not overheat the soap base.  At this time, add the Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant, Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake fragrance oil, Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and vegetable glycerin, using the guide above to determine amounts Stir the ingredients together completely. Finally, pour your pink soap onto a sheet of wax paper. Spray this soap with rubbing alcohol to eliminate any air bubbles. Finally, let the pink soap setup.

Next, when the soap has setup, remove it from the wax paper.  Once again, cut the soap in half.  One half needs to be cut into small squares.  Then, cut the second half into thin strips and curl them in spirals.  Put the confetti pieces in the same bowl with the other confetti.  Then, place the spirals in the bowl with the other spirals.

Next, it is time to create the blue soap. Once again, you will need a small bowl.  Then, add 42 grams of the Oatmeal MP Soap. Using your microwave, melt the soap in 15 second intervals.  Next, add the Neon Blue FUN Soap Colorant, Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake fragrance oil, Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and of course vegetable glycerin. Use the information found above to determine how much of each ingredient to use. Again, mix the ingredients together. Finally, pour your blue soap onto a sheet of wax paper. Spray the mp soap with rubbing alcohol to eliminate any air bubbles. Lastly, let the soap setup.

At this time, remove it from the wax paper.  Cut the blue soap in half.  Then, one half into thin strips and curl them in spirals.  Next, cut the second half into small squares to resemble confetti.  Put the confetti pieces in the same bowl with the other confetti.  Then, place the spirals in the bowl with the other spirals.

Then, we will create the orange soap. So, in a small mixing bowl, add 42 grams of the Oatmeal Melt and Pour Soap Base. In the microwave, melt the soap in 15 second intervals. Be careful not to overheat the soap base.  Next, add the Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake Fragrance Oil, Neon Orange FUN Soap Colorant, vegetable glycerin, and Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, using the total recipe amounts above as a guide. Stir it all together to get everything completely blended. Finally, pour your orange soap onto a sheet of wax paper.  Spray your orange with rubbing alcohol to eliminate any air bubbles. Let the soap setup before moving on.

Now, remove the soap you prepared from the wax paper.  Once again, cut the soap in half.  The first half needs to be cut into small squares.  Cut the second half of the soap into strips and curl them in spirals.  Put the confetti pieces in the same bowl with the other confetti.  Then, place the spirals in the bowl with the other spirals.

Next, it is time to create the green soap. So, in your small bowl, add 42 grams of Natures Garden’s Oatmeal Soap Base. Using your microwave, once again, melt the mp soap in 15 second intervals. Do not to overheat the soap base.  Once the soap is melted, add the Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant, Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake fragrance oil, and finally vegetable glycerin.  Stir everything together. Finally, pour your green soap onto a sheet of wax paper. Of course, you will want to spray the soap you poured with rubbing alcohol to get rid of any air bubble.  Then, let the soap setup.

Finally, once setup, remove the green soap from the wax paper.  Next, cut the soap in half.  Begin by cutting one half into small squares.  Next, cut the second half into thin strips and curl them in spirals.  Put the confetti pieces in the bowl with the other confetti.  Then, place the spirals in the bowl with the spirals.

Finally, we will pour the yellow soap. In a small bowl, weigh out 42 grams of the Oatmeal Melt and Pour Soap Base. Then, melt the soap in 15 second intervals using your microwave. Be careful not to overheat the soap base.  Next, add the Neon Yellow FUN Soap Colorant, Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake fragrance oil, Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and vegetable glycerin. Use the guide above to determine how much color, fragrance, and vegetable glycerin to use. Stir well to completely incorporate the ingredients. Lastly, pour your yellow soap onto a sheet of wax paper. Spray this soap with rubbing alcohol to eliminate any air bubbles. Allow this to setup.

Prepare the Soap for the Confetti and Streamers: Create the Yellow SoapLastly, remove the yellow soap from the wax paper.  Cut the soap in half.  Use a knife to cut one half into small squares.  Then, cut the second half into thin strips. Then, curl the strips into spirals.  Put the confetti pieces in the same bowl with the other confetti.  Then, add the spirals curls in the bowl with the other spirals.

At this time, we will prepare the white layer.  First, you will need to weigh out 140 grams of Oatmeal Melt and Pour Soap.  In the microwave melt the soap in 30 second intervals until the mp soap is in a liquid state.

Now that the oatmeal soap base is melted, add the Happy Birthday Vanilla Cupcake Fragrance Oil and the Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Stir to completely blend the ingredients together. Next, pour 1/3 of the melted oatmeal soap into each of cavities of the basic rectangle soap mold. Once the soap is poured, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles. Let the soap setup completely before moving on.

At this time, we will prepare the clear layer.  In a mixing bowl, weigh out 228 grams of Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear melt and pour soap base. Once again, in your microwave, heat the clear soap base in 30 second intervals until it is completely melted. Be careful not to overheat the soap.  Then, add the fragrance oil and Vanilla White Color Stabilizer. Stir to mix the ingredients into the soap base.

You will need to move quickly over the next couple steps.  So, first, spray the previous white layer of soap that is in the mold with rubbing alcohol. Next, pour the clear soap into each cavity of the mold. It should be poured directly on top of the white layer.

Finally, quickly add both confetti and spirals to each bar of soap. Let some of the spirals pop out of the soap slightly. Finally, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol.  Make sure the soap has plenty of time to harden before you remove it from the soap mold.
