Preparations Before Creating the MP Soap
Clean and sanitize your work area and all of your equipment as well as your packaging materials. Make sure you have enough room to work. Grab all of your ingredients now so you will have them in reach. When trying a new recipe, it is easier to have all the necessities so you are able to focus on the what you need to do. It is suggested that you wear gloves, protective clothing, and a hair net while preparing this recipe. In addition, prepare a spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol. The alcohol will help prevent you from getting air bubbles in the top of your soap.
Preparing Your Soap Colorants
Now, you will need to prepare the colorants. We will use a combination of rose clay and tomato red FUN Soap Colorant for the pink. For the brown colorant, we will use a combination of the cocoa powder and brown and black oxides.
Preparing Rose Clay Soap Colorant
You will need a small mixing bowl for this. Add the 5 grams of rose clay. Then start adding about 12 grams of vegetable glycerin. Stir the vegetable glycerin slowly. You’re looking for a completely emulsified paste. Once completely blended, set it aside.
Preparing Brown Soap Colorant
Grab another small mixing bowl. Slowly add 5 grams of cocoa powder and then add 12 grams of vegetable glycerin. Once that mixture is completely combined, add 5 drops of black oxide colorants and 10 drops brown oxide colorant to deepen the color. Then, stir to completely combine the paste!
Preparing the Brown Layer of Soap
In a clean medium microwave safe mixing bowl, add 340 grams of soya milk melt and pour soap base. Begin melting the soap base in short 30-second increments. Make sure to stir in between each burst. Once completely melted, add the 17 grams of sandalwood fragrance oil from Natures Garden. Then, add the brown soap colorant. Stir the soap base until it is completely combined.
Pouring the Brown Layer into the Mold
Slowly pour the brown soap mixture into the mold. Once all the soap is in the two pound loaf mold, spray the soap layer with rubbing alcohol to remove any lingering air bubbles. This step gets rid of the air bubbles to give you an smooth finish. Set this aside to allow it to set up before moving on.
Preparing the White Soap Layer
Once the brown layer is set up, we can begin making the white layer of soap. Start by adding the 227 grams of soya milk melt and pour soap base. Completely melt the mp soap just like you did in the previous step. Then, add 11 grams of sandalwood fragrance oil. Stir the mixture until you’re sure the oil is thoroughly integrated.
Pouring the White Layer Into the Mold
Start by spraying the previous layer of brown soap with your alcohol. This will ensure that your soap layers adhere to each other. When you’re sure your white layer of soap is completely blended with the fragrance oil, begin adding your white soap base to the loaf mold. Then, spray your white layer of soap with your alcohol. Finally, allow time for it to set up before continuing.
Preparing the Pink Soap Layer
Now, we will prepare the pink layer of soap. Begin by adding 340 grams of soya melt and pour soap base into a clean and dry mixing bowl. Melt the soap base and stir to make sure all clumps are gone. Once thoroughly melted, add 17 grams of the Sandalwood fragrance oil and the rose clay colorant that you prepared earlier. Stir the mixture until everything is completely blended together.
Pouring The Pink Soap Layer
Start by spraying the white layer of soap with rubbing alcohol. This will ensure that this layer and the next layer adhere to each other. Then, pour the pink soap base on top of your white layer. Once you have all of your base into the mold, respray your pink layer to remove any air bubbles. Place it aside, allowing time for it to fully set before moving on. You’re starting to get close to your perfect Sandalwood MP Soap.
Preparing The Whipped Soap
In a large mixing bowl, put 207 grams of the whipped soap base into the bowl. Then, add 20 grams of Sandalwood fragrance oil. Next, add 20 grams of the vegetable glycerin. Use a hand mixer to completely combined the ingredients. Keep mixing the whipped soap base until it has the same consistency as whipped cream.
Adding the Soy Soap Base To The Whipped Soap
Alright, now that you have finished getting the consistency you need for the whipped soap, weigh out the last remaining 207 grams of Soya Milk Melt and Pour soap base. Melt the soap base the same as you did in the previous steps. Once satisfied that there are no chunks of soap left unmelted, add the soya melt and pour and quickly mix the ingredients with a hand mixer, until all the melt and pour soap base is in your whipped soap bowl. Again, you’re looking for a whipped cream consistency!
Adding The Finished Whipped Soap On Top
When going to add the final layer of soap, spray the top of the pink soap in the mold with the alcohol to ensure that the whipped soap adheres to the pink soap. Once you have sprayed the soap, you can go ahead and add the whipped soap on top of the pink layer. When adding the next layer, try to keep some peaks to the whipped soap. This will give you an added texture, while also looking like a neapolitan cake.
Topping the Sandalwood MP Soap
Next, add the final touch to your layered soap. While the whipped is still wet, add the Himalayan pink salt. We used about two tablespoons. However, you can use more or less if you choose to. Sprinkle this evenly on top. Let the soap dry and completely set up.
Cutting the Sandalwood MP Soap
After your soap has setup, you will be able to cut it to your desired thicknesses. Place the soap in the mitre box. Then, use the cutter to slice your soap to the thickness of your choosing. Once you cut the soap into individual bars it is ready to use! This makes the perfect bar of soap for the shower or washing your face and hands.
