Fragrance Oils for ChristmasFragrance Oils for Christmas

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year for a lot of people. I certainly think that it is! From going shopping to pick out the perfect present for each family member and friend while seeing the pretty white snow on the ground, to drinking a cup of hot chocolate and going to see the beautiful Christmas lights hanging on everything in town. I enjoy all of it! We have so many of our fun Christmas fragrances to share with you, plus some recipes that we have created for you to utilize these fragrance oils. Let’s go ahead and get started!

Christmas Cabernet ScentFragrance Oils for Christmas: Christmas Cabernet Scent

You will really enjoy this fragrance if you like to drink some wine from time to time. Christmas Cabernet Fragrance Oil is a wonderful holiday scent. The top notes are red grape, strawberry, and ginger. The middle notes at the heart of the aroma include cherry, plum, and rose hips. Finally, the base notes contain Cabernet wine, oak, and vanilla. This combination flows together beautifully, which makes this fragrance versatile and beautiful. It can be used in potpourri, incense, candles, soap, lotion, and my favorite, body scrubs. We have a customer recipe on the website for a Wine Sugar Scrub that uses this unique fragrance oil! The texture of this scrub is very soft from the cocoa and shea butters it includes, and it could be great to gift someone this season.

Christmas Cabin ScentFragrance Oils for Christmas: Christmas Cabin Scent

Christmas Cabin Fragrance Oil is another one of Natures Garden’s original fragrance oils that is also a best seller! The middle note is pure cranberry. The top notes consist of orange zest and fresh cinnamon bark. This scent is centered around middle notes of cranberry. This triple combination really brings the feel of Christmas into this fragrance oil. Finally, at the base of this scent, you will find notes of wood and bayberry, giving the aroma a balsamic scent. It is great to use in incense, handmade candles, handcrafted soap and bath and body products. In fact, this scent performs wonderfully in CP soap. When we tested this when making cold process soap, the results showed that there was no acceleration, no discoloration, no ricing, no separation, and good scent retention.

Christmas Cookies ScentFragrance Oils for Christmas: Christmas Cookies Scent

Christmas Cookies Fragrance Oil from Natures Garden is the perfect fragrance to bring you right into the kitchen when it is time to bake cookies for Christmas! This bakery fragrance oil begins with the aroma of butter cookies. Then middle notes buttercream follow! Lastly, the scent ends with a vanilla base.

It truly reminds me of baking sugar cookies and other types of treats around the holidays. These three layers may be simple with singular scents in each, but they come together to create a beautiful fragrance that will bring your handcrafted bath and body products to life. One of our holiday favorites here at Natures Garden is the Christmas Bath Cookies recipe. It is a very easy recipe to follow and will show you how to make realistic looking bath cookies topped with a whipped frosting and finished off with sprinkles! This fragrance oil also performs well in cp soap. When this fragrance was tested, the results showed no acceleration, no separation, no ricing, good scent retention, and it discolors to a dark chocolate shade.

Christmas Cravings ScentFragrance Oils for Christmas: Christmas Cravings Scent

Next on our list of fragrance oils for Christmas is the popular Christmas Cravings Fragrance Oil. This complex aroma combines a wide range of notes to create this unique blend. It is one of Natures Garden’s original fragrances and a best seller all in one! The top notes are refreshing apple along with citrus notes of grapefruit, orange, and lemon. In the midst of this holiday scent, you will find notes of cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, cassia bark, carrot, clove, and cinnamon. The base notes rounding out the aroma are maple, vanilla, and buttercream.  Christmas Cravings Fragrance Oil combines multiple scents together to make create this fresh and unique holiday fragrance.

Like the other oils we have discussed so far, this can be used in many different products that you can make right from your own home. Vegetable wax, paraffin wax, incense, and potpourri use the most of this fragrance. However, it can also be useful in cleaning products, lotions, perfumes, and more! It had strong scent retention, no separation, no ricing, and it discolors to a tan shade when tested with cold process soap.

Christmas Memories ScentFragrance Oils for Christmas: Christmas Memories Scent

Christmas Memories Fragrance Oil is another one of the original fragrance oils from Natures Garden Candle and Soap Making Supplies and it’s a best selling fragrance oil! At the top of this aroma, you will find notes of orange peel and cranberry. At the center of this scent are spicy notes of cinnamon and clove, while the base notes include crisp notes of pine cones and evergreen.

I love these scents because it truly does bring back Christmas memories. The evergreen and pine cones really remind me of picking out our family Christmas tree when I was growing up. We picked out a Christmas together every year. We also spent time together baking cookies. Christmas Memories fragrance oil takes me back to those Christmas traditions every time I smell it. This scent can also be incorporated into handcrafted cp soap. The results from cold process soap testing revealed slight acceleration, no ricing, no separation, a strong scent retention, and it discolors to a tan shade.

Pumpkin Cheesecake FragrancePumpkin Cheesecake Fragrance Oil Spotlight

Pumpkins are very popular this time of year. Not only do the orange gourds make beautiful decorations, but they also make some delicious desserts. We’ve already covered Pumpkin Eggnog and Pumpkin Roll, but now we’re going to talk about mouth-watering Pumpkin Cheesecake. Cheesecake itself is already very nice, but add some pumpkin puree and extra spice, and voila! You’ve got a sensational seasonal treat. It can be described as a mix between cheesecake and pumpkin pie. It’s even a popular seasonal flavor of ice cream- a triple threat: pumpkin pie, cheesecake, and ice cream! Regardless of how you choose to eat it- we can all agree that it smells delicious.

What Does Pumpkin Cheesecake Fragrance Oil Smell Like?

The incredible aroma of cardamom, ground cinnamon, Vermont maple, pumpkin puree, carrot, whipped cream, rum, cream cheese, caramelized sugar, and French vanilla which is all blended to true perfection.

Candles! This bakery scent performs perfectly in joy wax and wow wax and is nice and strong in soy wax. It is not gel wax compatible. The maximum recommended usage percentage for this delicious aroma in vegetable waxes and paraffin wax is 10%. Our coloring suggestions for candles are to use 2 drops orange plus a small amount of brown liquid candle dye per four pounds of wax or shred an ample amount of orange and a small amount of brown color block into your melted wax. Never use crayons to color your candles; it will clog the wick!

Discoloration is likely due to the high vanillin content of the fragrance: 8%. You can combat discoloration due to vanilla with our Vanilla White Color Stabilizer. But remember- you are responsible for the results in your finished products. Our coloring suggestions for bath and body products made with this delicious dessert scent are to use orange and brown soap colorant in the amount that satisfies you. You can also try natural soap colorants– but pay close attention to the information on their corresponding pages- some colorants are affected differently by different soapmaking processes.

Apple Butter Pie FragranceApple Butter Pie

Have you ever made apple butter? The process alone is enough to make your house smell sweet and cinnamon-y for a while, but the scent of pie is gone once the last piece is eaten. You can’t eat fragrance oil; keep the smell around for longer! You get the delicious smell of apples with an added undertone of freshly baked crust. Mmmm.

Apple Cinnamon - Body Safe FragranceApple Cinnamon – Body Safe

This one’s pretty straightforward. Smells like apples and cinnamon. And it’s safe to use in bath and body products, including soaps, bath oils, bath gels, lotions, and perfumes. This simple spicy, sweet scent is great if you’re looking for the smell of apples and cinnamon without overwhelming bakery base notes. It smells like delicious apple cider to me; an ideal autumn aroma! Free snack recipe on the fragrance oil page.

Apple Cinnamon Streusel FragranceApple Cinnamon Streusel

Fresh apple bakery scents are everywhere! And there’s no pair quite like apple and cinnamon. That combination of spicy and sweet just cannot be beat! The tones that set Apple Cinnamon Streusel apart from the rest are sweet pears and banana leaves.

Apple Crisp FragranceApple Crisp

If you want to smell like you’ve just started an apple-themed bakery, we have got you covered. The fragrance oil page (click the pic) features a recipe for this scrumptious dessert. I am getting very hungry writing this blog post. This scent has apples and cinnamon, with an awesome addition of buttercream and a base note of baked oatmeal cookie.

In addition to being an adorable pet name for your significant other, dumplings are delicious treats. This freshly-baked fruit fragrance features apples, cinnamon, pears, nutmeg, clove, cardamom, vanilla, and hazelnut. A beautiful bakery bouquet.

Apple Pecan Sage FragranceApple Pecan Sage

Top notes of apple, pear, and banana, followed by middle notes of cinnamon, sage, clove, and cardamom, sitting on a base of pecan and vanilla. The fragrance notes that make this scent unique are right there in the name: pecan and sage. Nothing wrong with getting a little nutty. Sage itself is something else.

Apples and Oak FragranceApples and Oak

Let’s stop out of the kitchen and under an oak tree. This fragrance sets itself apart from the others on the list by featuring woodsy fresh oak leaves and oak moss. A nice, clean smell, almost like autumn air. I know I’m not supposed to pick favorites, kids, but this one is it. It’s even gel wax compatible. You can get fancy and put some acorn and oak leaves embeds in your Apples and Oak gel wax candle.

Apple Butter Caramel FragranceApple Butter Caramel

But I can’t forget this lil sweetie. A sweet scent with notes of McIntosh apple, steamed milk, pure sugar, caramel candy, toffee pudding, apple butter, fresh nutmeg, vanilla bean, and soft musk. Apple Pecan Sage FragranceApple Pecan Sage Fragrance Oil Spotlight

Again, another amazing apple aroma. After some brief research on Wikipedia, I can tell you that “pecan” comes from a Native American word meaning ‘a nut that requires a stone to crack.’ No stones needed to open this fragrance oil. (There’s a lot of cool information on that pecan page; learn something new!) Pecans, much like our friend the almond, are drupes- not technically nuts- but in my experience, the more you try to convince someone you’re not nuts, the more nuts you seem. The important part is that the nutty scent of pecans goes well with apples and spicy sage. Sage is a natural deodorizer and has many additional uses that you can read about in our Sage Class. (Our fragrance oil is for smelling purposes only- but we do sell sage leaf, sage incense smudging wands, and white sage leaves for all of your sage needs!)

What Does Apple Pecan Sage Fragrance Oil Smell Like?

This fragrance oil by Natures Garden is the aroma of sweet, freshly picked apples with aromatic spices and a wonderful nutty flavor.

Top:  Apple, Pear, Banana
Mid:  Cinnamon, Sage, Clove, Cardamom
Base:   Pecan, Vanilla

How Do Our Customers Use Apple Pecan Sage Fragrance Oil?

They create candles! This spicy, nutty, apple aroma performs perfectly in joy wax and wow wax, and is nice and strong in soy wax. It is not gel wax compatible. The maximum recommended usage percentage of this spicy sweet scent in vegetable waxes and paraffin waxes is 10%. Our coloring recommendations for candles are to use four drops of red liquid candle dye per four pounds of wax or shred a small amount of red color block in your melted wax. (Coloring with crayons will clog your wick; don’t do it!)

They make savory soaps! The maximum recommended usage percentage for this bountiful bouquet in soaps, bath oils, bath gels, and cleaning products is 5%. Our cold process soap testing results found that CP soap made with this fragrance had perfect pour with plenty of time to play. (I smell swirls!) There was no ricing, no acceleration, and slight oil separation, but it absorbs back into the soap. The scent stays very strong, and the soap discolors to a brown color. This might be due to the fact that this full-bodied fruit fragrance has a vanillin content of 3% (but truthfully, over 40 ingredients can cause discoloration). Vanilla White Color Stabilizer may help prevent discoloration due to vanilla. Testing will need to be done by the customer with all fragrances they choose. Our coloring recommendations for bath and body products made with this awesome apple aroma are to use red soap colorant in the amount that satisfies you.

How about lotions and perfumes? The maximum recommended usage percentage of this savory scent in perfumes and lotions is 5%. It was found to perform perfectly in perfumes.

And room scents? Sure! The maximum recommended usage percentage for this autumn aura in incense and potpourri is 50%. It comes across nice and strong in aroma beads.
