Banana Nut Bread Candle Recipe: Prepare the Banana Embeds

For our banana nut bread candle recipe, we need to prepare the four banana slices that you see pictured to the left.  These banana slice embeds will be placed right the top of the candle once it is finished.  We are preparing them ahead of time so that they can be setup and ready to go when we need them.

Prepare the Banana Embeds: Preparing the Candle Wax

Banana Nut Bread Candle Recipe: Prepare the Banana Embeds Melting the Wax

We will first begin preparing our banana embed’s wax. So, weigh out 35 grams of Natures Garden Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax.  Then, melt the pillar candle wax using a double boiler.  As it is melting, you will want to stir occasionally.

Prepare the Banana Embeds: Adding the Candle Dye

Now, you need to add your colorant.  Since we will only be adding a very small amount, we will need a toothpick.  Dip your toothpick into the yellow liquid candle dye.  Then, dip the toothpick into the melted candle wax.  Finally, stir to mix the colorant into the candle wax.

Prepare the Banana Embeds: Adding the Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil

Next, you will want to add Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil.  So, to your melted candle wax, add 3 grams of Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil from Natures Garden.  Once again, stir to incorporate the colorant.

Prepare the Banana Embeds: Pour the Banana Embeds

Finally, you will need to pour the banana embeds.  Once the wax has completely setup, remove the banana slices from the mold.  For now, you can set them aside, we will come back to them.

Banana Nut Bread Candle Recipe: Prepare the Pecan Embeds

Now, we will prepare the pecan embeds,  The pecan embeds will also go on top of your candle.  We will be preparing a total of twelve of the pecan embeds that you see pictured.  However, since there are only 6 cavities in the mold, you will need to fill the mold twice.

Prepare the Pecan Embeds: Preparing the Candle Wax

Once again, using a double boiler melt 60 grams of Natures Garden’s Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax.  As the wax is melting, you will want to stir occasionally.  You do not want to allow the temperature to get above 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Prepare the Pecan Embeds: Add the Liquid Candle Dye

Next, we will begin coloring our candle wax.  You will once again need a toothpick.  First, dip you toothpick in the brown liquid candle dye.  Then, dip the toothpick in the candle wax.  Stir to incorporate the candle dye.

Prepare the Pecan Embeds: Add the Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil

Once you have incorporated your candle colorant, you will need to add the Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil.  Weigh out and add 6 grams of Natures Garden Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil.  Then, stir to incorporate fragrance oil.

Prepare the Pecan Embeds: Pour the Pecan Embeds

Finally, you will need to pour the pecan embeds.  Carefully, pour the candle wax into the six cavities of the pecans mold.  Then, allow them to setup.  Once they have setup, remove them from the mold.  Now, once your embeds have been removed from the mold, you will need to remelt the candle wax that is left in the pouring pot and pour one more round of pecans.

Banana Nut Bread Candle Recipe: Prepare the Banana Chunks

In this candle recipe, we used a very light yellow color for our chunks.  The chucks will be placed into the candle before it fully sets up.  Little portions of these chunks can be seen from the outside of the jar.

Prepare the Banana Chunks: Melting the Candle Wax

Now, we will need to melt about 150 grams of soy wax.  Once again, you will want to melt the wax using a double boiler.  As your wax is melting, stir occasionally.  Be careful that you do not allow the wax to get too hot.

Prepare the Banana Chunks: Adding the Yellow Candle Dye

Next, we will be coloring our candle wax.  We will once again, be using a toothpick.  So, dip your toothpick in the yellow candle colorant.  Then, dip it into the candle wax.  Then, using the other side of the toothpick, repeat this process one more time.  Lastly, stir with your mixing spoon to incorporate the colorant.

Prepare the Banana Chunks: Adding the Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil

The last thing you will do before pouring your wax into the mold is add fragrance oil.  So, to the melted candle wax, add 15 grams of Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil.  Then, mix to incorporate the scent into the wax.

Prepare the Banana Chunks: Pouring the Candle Wax

Finally, it is time to pour your candle wax.  You will pour the candle wax into on cavity of the four loaf silicone mold.  Then, you will let the wax setup.  However, while the wax is still soft, slice it like you would a cake.  You want to cut it into small cubes.  Once the wax has completely cooled, remove it form the mold.

Banana Nut Bread Candle Recipe: Prepare the Tan Colored Candle Wax

Next,we will prepare candle wax in a sort of tan color.  The tan colored candle wax is used for the majority of the candle.  It will be colored with brown candle dye along with a little bit of yellow.

Prepare the Tan Colored Candle Wax: Melt the Candle Wax

Now, we will prepare and melt the candle wax that will be used for the bulk of the candle.  So, weigh out 250 grams of soy wax.  Then, melt your wax using a double boiler.  Use caution not to overheat the wax.

Prepare the Tan Colored Candle Wax: Color the Candle Wax

In order to color the candle wax, you will need two of Natures Garden’s liquid candle dyes.  First, add one drop of the Spectrum Liquid Candle Dye in brown.  Then, use a tooth pick, as you have in previous steps, to add just a tiny bit of yellow candle colorant.  Mix to incorporate the candle dyes.

Prepare the Tan Colored Candle Wax: Add the Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil

Lastly, we will add our Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil.  So, weigh out 25 grams of the Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil.  Then, mix to completely incorporate the scent.

Prepare the Tan Colored Candle Wax: Pour the Candle Wax

Finally, pour the candle wax into the jar.  You will notice that your jar is only about 3/4 of the way full.  At this time, you will begin add the yellow colored wax cubes you prepared earlier.  Add the carefully and slowly.  If you are not careful, you could easily splash the candle wax.

Banana Nut Bread Candle Recipe: Prepare the Whipped Topping

Finally, you will need to prepare the whipped topping for your Banana Nut Bread Candle Recipe.  You will need to prepare the whipped topping, then place embeds on top.  You will be placing both pecans and bananas on top.

First, weigh out 225 grams of the soy wax.  Then, use a double boiler to melt the candle wax.  Once it is melted, remove it from the heat.

Next, add 22 grams of the Banana Nut Bread Fragrance Oil.  Then, use a spoon to incorporate the fragrance oil into the wax.  Then, pour the candle wax into a bowl.  As it begins to thicken, you will need to use a spoon to mix and whip it.  When it is at whipped cream consistency, top the candle with the wax.

Finally, place the pecan embeds and banana slices on top.  Once you have placed the embed on top, curl you wicks, and you are all done!  Simply allow your candle to cure for a few days.  Then, trim your wicks and burn your candle.

Reindeer Poo Candle RecipeReindeer Poo Candle Recipe

It’s that time of year, the holidays are upon us.  Here at Natures Garden we decided to come up with a fun candle recipe using one of our customers’ favorite scents, Reindeer Poo.  This recipe uses our sustainable palm wax, whipped Joy Wax, and of course our Reindeer Poo Fragrance Oil.  We feel even Santa Claus, Rudolph, and Santa’s reindeer will get a chuckle out of this fun scented Reindeer Poo candle recipe.

First, we will prepare the reindeer embeds.  These will later be placed on the top of the candle.  You will need palm wax, brown liquid candle dye, Reindeer Poo Fragrance Oil, the Santa and Deer Embed Mold, your scale, and a toothpick.  Weigh out 1 oz of Natures Garden’s sustainable palm container wax.  Melt the palm wax to 210 degrees Fahrenheit.  Next, add 0.1 ounces of Reindeer Poo Fragrance Oil.  Also, use a toothpick to add the brown candle colorant.  Simply dip the toothpick in the brown dye and then into your candle wax.  Finally, mix well to incorporate the brown colorant.  Normally you would want to pour this wax at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.  However, since we are pouring into a plastic mold, pouring at that temperature would likely cause the mold to melt.  So, pour the wax at 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

Next, we will be creating the blue part of the candle.  Prior to creating this portion, or while you are waiting for your wax to melt, use your hot glue gun to adhere to wick to the bottom of the apothecary jar.  Make sure the candle wicks are straight and centered.  Using a double boiler, melt 16 ounces of the palm container wax to 210 degrees Fahrenheit.  Once melted, in the same manner you did before, use a toothpick to add a small amount of blue liquid candle dye.  Then, at about 200 degrees Fahrenheit, add 1.5 ounces of Reindeer Poo Fragrance Oil.  Mix well.  You will want to work quickly so you can pour the palm wax at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.  By pouring the wax at a high temperature the crystals will be able to form nicely in the wax.  Once the palm wax has set up move to the next step.

Now, we will be preparing the snow that rests on the top of the palm wax candle.  For this part, we will be using Joy Wax.  Once again, you will need you scale.  Weigh out 3 ounces of Joy Candle Wax.  We will not be adding color to this part of the candle.  So, once your wax reaches 170 degrees go ahead and add your fragrance oil.  Add 0.3 ounces of Reindeer Poo scent and mix to blend the fragrance.  Allow the wax to set up a bit.  We will be whipping the wax therefore, you want it to have a slush-like consistency.  Once it reaches this state, use a spoon to whip the wax.  Then, place it on top of the blue palm wax.  You want it to look like a blanket of snow.  Move quickly to the next step while the wax is still soft.

Add two of the reindeer embed you created earlier.  These should be placed on top of the white wax so they are slightly sinking in.  You do not want to push them in completely, but you do want to use the Joy Wax to hold them in place.  Then, do the same with the brown wax balls you created earlier.  Once you have added these finishing touches, your candle is ready to use!
