Dreama Wax Tarts RecipeDreama Wax Tarts Recipe

If you are looking for a fun wax tart recipe, then the Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe is a great wax tart recipe to try out! These handmade wax melts use quality candle making supplies from Natures Garden. Not only does this candle wax recipe use great candle making ingredients, like our candle wax wholesale and fragrance oil for wax melts, but this recipe looks like a pretty spring flower! So, check out one of our candle blogs below to learn how to make wax melts just like this!

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Clean and Sanitize

Before you begin to create your handmade wax melts recipe, you will want to make a few preparations. First, gather your ingredients for this wax tarts recipe. It can be useful to get everything that you need before making your flower wax melts to have the process go easier. Also, you will want to sanitize any craft equipment that you will need for this recipe. Next, you will want to prepare an area for a work space. Further, it is suggested that you wear gloves, protective clothing, and a hair net while you prepare this candle wax recipe. After you have made these preparations, you will be ready to work on making this homemade craft recipe!

Dreama Lotion Recipe: Making the Double Boiler

Next you are going to want to create the double boiler for this recipe. While you will still need to stir, the double boiler will be useful for preventing your wax from scorching. To create this device you will need two pots that will fit into each other. In the larger pot, you will add water, which will be heated to a boil. Your pouring pot will act as the smaller pot for this recipe. Now, you will want to heat your water. Once the water is at a boil, set your pouring pot inside to melt the candle wax inside.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Ingredients From Natures Garden

Palm Pillar Wax
Pillar of Bliss Wax
Dreama Fragrance Oil
Bayberry Color Block
Yellow Color Block
White Color Block
Embed Mold Daisies
Thermometer
Pouring Pot
Disposable Pipette

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Other Needed Ingredients and Supplies

Mixing Spoon
Scale
Pots (for double boiler)
Portion Cups

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Needed Weights and Amounts

A Small Amount of a Bayberry Color Block
1.85 ounces of the Dreama Fragrance Oil
A Small Amount of a Yellow Color Block
13.5 ounces of the Palm Pillar Wax
4.75 ounces of the Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax
A Small Amount of a White Color Block

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Melting the Yellow Candle WaxDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Melting the Yellow Candle Wax

First, you are going to create the flower embeds for your candle wax tarts recipe . So, you are going to need to melt down the wholesale candle wax with the pouring pot. Of course, you should use the pouring pot that is used to make your double boiler. You will need to weigh out 0.25 ounces of the Pillar of Bliss Wax. Then, you will be ready to add the candle wax to this pouring pot. You will need to stir your mixture as the wax melts down. This will both move the process along and prevent scorching.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Adding the Finishing TouchesDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Adding the Finishing Touches

Now, you are going to add a few finishing touches to this portion of the melted wax. So, you will need to add a very small amount of a yellow color dye block. You will need to stir to fully incorporate this candle colorant. This candle wax color will be used to create the yellow center of the embed flowers. Although we are adding a colorant, we are not going to add a scent to this small portion of the candle wax. Since this is a small portion of the wax melt, it won’t make much of a difference to leave it unscented.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Creating the Center of the FlowerDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Creating the Center of the Flower

Next, you will need to use this yellow wax to create the center of your embed flowers. So, you will need to get your Daisies Embed Mold ready to use to create the flowers. Then, you will need to use a disposable pipette to fill the center of the embed flower mold. Just take some of the melted yellow wax in the pipette and add it to the center of the flowers. Also, you will want to be careful that you only fill the center part of the mold.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Melting the White Candle WaxDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Melting the White Candle Wax

The second part that we will create is the white portion of the flower embed mold. This will be used to create the petals of the flower. You are going to add 4.5 ounces of the Pillar of Bliss Wax to the pouring pot in the double boiler. Once all of your wax has melted, you are going to add a small portion of a white color block to the wax. Be sure that you mix to fully incorporate the candle colorant.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Scent and Pour the Embed DaisiesDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Scent and Pour the Embed Daisies

Now, you are going to add the fragrance oil and create your embed daisies. First, you are going to add 0.45 ounces of the fragrance oil to the melted wax. You will need to stir in the scented oil to fully incorporate the scent. Next, you are going to pour the white candle wax. Since the yellow wax should be set up at this point, you will be able to pour this white portion of the embed mold directly on top of the yellow wax. After all of your daisy cavities are filled, you are ready to move on to the next step.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Removing the Embed DaisiesDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Removing the Embed Daisies

Once the wax for your daisies has completely set up, you can remove them from the mold. If the wax has not yet set up, you can set the mold aside for the moment. You can always come back to pop out the daisies later on in the candle making process. For now, you can move on to the next part of the process of making the best wax tarts!

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Melt the Wax Melt BaseDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Melt the Wax Melt Base

Next, you are going to prepare the base of the wax tarts. Again, you are going to need your pouring pot in the double boiler. So, weigh out and add 13.5 ounces of the Palm Pillar Wax to the pouring pot. As your wax melts, you will want to make sure that you stir occasionally.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Adding the Color and ScentDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Adding the Color and Scent

Once your candle wax has completely melted, you will be ready to add the colorant to your wax! So, you are going to use a small amount of the bayberry color block to get a pretty green color. As the color dye block melts, you will want to stir in the candle colorant. After the melted wax has an even color throughout the wax, you will be ready to move on to the next step.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Adding the Color and ScentDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Adding the Color and Scent

Once your wax has been melted and colored, you will be ready to add the scented oil. So, you are going to need to measure and incorporate 1.35 ounces of the Dreama Fragrance Oil. This fragrance begins with notes of oakmoss and lilies. The scent continues with middle notes of ylang ylang and jasmine. Further, the scent has a base of amber, musk, and sandalwood. So, this is a fantastic aroma to include in your wax melts. Again, you will need to stir to make sure that your scented wax includes the fragrance evenly.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Creating the Wax Tart BaseDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Creating the Wax Tart Base

Now that your green candle wax is melted and ready to use, you are going to need to set up your portion cups. These portion cups will act as the wax tart mold for this recipe. In total, you will need about 9 individual portion cups to create your wax melt base. So, you will use up your freshly melted candle wax to fill each of these portion cups. You will want to make sure that you leave a little bit of room to add the daisy on top. We recommend that you pour slightly above 3/4 of the way full. Once you have filled each of your portion cups, you will need to move on to the next step before your candle wax sets up completely.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Adding the Wax Embed DaisiesDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Adding the Wax Embed Daisies

Next, you are going to add your cute daisy embeds to the green wax tart base. You will want to make sure that you add your flower shaped wax melts to the top of the base before it entirely sets up. Of course, you will want to make sure that the wax base is set up enough that your flower won’t sink right through. However, the wax tart base will need to still have a soft surface. Once you reach this sweet spot, you will be ready to add each of your daisies to the soft candle wax.

Dreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Using Your Finished ProductDreama Wax Tarts Recipe: Using Your Finished Product

Finally, your wax tarts are finished and nearly ready for you to use! All you have left to do is wait for your wax tarts to set up completely and cure. After your wax tarts have hardened, you can wait to remove the wax tarts until after the curing process. The process of curing should only take about two or three days to make sure that the fragrance oil has settled. This will allow you to make wax tarts will be the best strongest wax melts that you can possibly make. If you want to ensure that the scent remains trapped, you can cover your wax tarts to help keep the scent trapped in the jar and allow it to really come alive.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Prepare the Jar for the Candle

First, prepare your mug.  We use a glass mug that we picked up at our local grocery store.  Our mug was slightly under 3.5 inches in diameter.  So, we used a CD-12 wick in our mug.  The size of the wick that you use will depend upon the diameter of the mug you are using for your candle.  While I can’t tell you the exact size you will need, I can tell you that I highly recommend the CD candle wicks when using Natures Garden’s Joy Wax.  Our size recommendations, based on diameter, can be found in the description of our CD candle wicks at the link in the ingredients list above.
Once you have determined your wick size, use a hot glue gun to adhere the candle wick to the bottom of your jar.  You will want to make sure the wick is centered in the mug.  Once your wick is in place unplug your hot glue gun and move on to the next step.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Prepare the Candle Wax For the Base of the CandleEggnog Candle Recipe: Prepare the Candle Wax For the Base of the Candle

Now, let’s prepare our Joy Wax.  In order to melt the Joy Wax, we will use a double boiler.  This will slowly melt the wax and prevent it form scorching.  You will need to first prepare a pot of water. The pot only needs to be filled with a few inches of water. Heat the water.  Once you have your wax weighed out, you will need to place your pouring pot inside the hot water to melt the wax.
So, in your pouring pot, weigh out 455 grams of Joy Wax.  Then, place the pouring pot inside the pot containing the water.  Allow the wax to melt.  Once the temperature reaches 200 degrees Fahrenheit, remove the pot from the heat.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Coloring Your Melted Candle WaxEggnog Candle Recipe: Coloring Your Melted Candle Wax

Next, we will be adding our colorant.  When using Natures Garden’s Joy Wax the colorant should be added at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.  So, for this candle recipe we will need both Spectrum yellow candle dye and Spectrum brown liquid candle dye.  Now, we only need a little bit of each.  While it can be hard to get just a small amount of liquid candle dye out with a dropper, it is not impossible.  In order to get just a small amount you will simply need a couple of toothpicks.  First, we will add the yellow candle colorant.  Go ahead and dip your first toothpick into the yellow colorant.  Then, dip the yellow colorant into the candle wax.  Throw this toothpick in the trash.  Next, dip your second toothpick into the brown candle dye.  Then, dip this same toothpick into the candle wax.  Throw your second toothpick into the garbage.  Finally, mix to fully disperse the candle colorants.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Adding Your Eggnog Fragrance OilEggnog Candle Recipe: Adding Your Eggnog Fragrance Oil

When working with Joy Wax, we suggest adding your fragrance oil between 170 degrees Fahrenheit and 175 degrees Fahrenheit for the best results.  So, today, we will be using Eggnog Fragrance Oil.  We couldn’t create an eggnog candle without an eggnog scent, right?  So, we will be using 10% fragrance oil for this recipe.  So, when your wax is at the correct temperature, add 45 grams of your Natures Garden Eggnog Fragrance Oil.  Then, make sure you mix the candle wax for about 30 seconds.  This will ensure that your eggnog scent is completely blended with the candle wax.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Pouring Your Eggnog Candle WaxEggnog Candle Recipe: Pouring Your Eggnog Candle Wax

Now, we will be pouring our candle wax.  When using Joy Wax, we recommend pouring your candle wax in warmed jars.  By warming your candle jars before pouring into them, it will help your wax to cling very nicely to your jars.  This is because your wax cools very slowly, allowing time for air bubble to release from the wax and thus the wax adhere to the walls of the jars better.  You want to put your jars into the oven at the very lowest setting.  So, turn your oven on the lowest temperature possible.  Then, place the jars on a pan and in the oven for just a few minutes. Do not allow them to get hot, they only need to be warm.

When pouring the wax, the temperature should be between 160 degrees Fahrenheit and 165 degrees Fahrenheit.  Once your candle wax reaches this temperature, pour the wax into your jar.  Make sure your wick is centered and secured in the center.  I use a fine tooth comb to keep my wicks in place.  Place the comb across the jar’s opening and put the wick centered in between the teeth of the comb.  Lastly, allow the candle wax to setup before moving to the next step.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Melting the Wax for the Whipped Topping

Joy wax can easily be used as a whipped topping on your candles.  For this particular recipe, we will be using 85 grams of Joy Wax.  However, we will be leaving this portion of the candle uncolored.  Once again, we will be using a double boiler to melt the candle wax.  So, go ahead and melt the wax using this method. However, this time bring the wax to a temperature between 170 degrees Fahrenheit and 175 degrees Fahrenheit.  The Joy Wax does not need to get any hotter since we are not adding any candle colorants to it.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Adding Fragrance Oil to the Whipped Topping Portion of the Candle Wax

Now, we will be adding fragrance oil to the whipped topping portion of the candle wax.  Once your candle wax temperature is between 170 degrees Fahrenheit and 175 degrees Fahrenheit, add 8 grams of the Eggnog scent.  Then, mix the fragrance oil into the wax with a clean mixing spoon.  Stir for about 30 second to be sure that the Eggnog Fragrance Oil is completely mixed with the Joy Wax.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Whipping the Joy Candle WaxEggnog Candle Recipe: Whipping the Joy Candle Wax

Next, we will begin whipping the Joy Wax.  This portion of the wax will be placed on the top of our main candle.  This will give your candle the look of a creamy top that you see on a glass of eggnog.  While it may look more complicated, all the topping requires is cooled and whipped Joy Wax.  All you will need is the candle wax and a mixing spoon.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Whipping the Joy Candle Wax

So, you want to allow your Joy Wax to cool.  As it cools stir it periodically.  Once it is at a thicker consistency, begin mixing until it takes on a whipped topping type consistency. Once the Joy Wax has reached this consistency, use a spoon to scoop it on top of your setup candle.  While you are topping the candle, make sure you keep your candle wick centered.

Eggnog Candle Recipe: Placing the Finishing TouchesEggnog Candle Recipe: Placing the Finishing Touches

There are a couple of things we will be adding to the candle to finish it off.  First, we will be adding a small cinnamon stick.  I should note that this will need to be removed prior to burning, but it does give your candle an adorable finishing touch.  We will also be grinding and adding cinnamon to the top of the candle.

First, we will add a cinnamon stick.  Place the cinnamon stick vertically, but slightly angled right inside your candle.  It should stick out slightly though.  You want it to look like it is floating in your jar.

In addition, we will need to grind just a little bit of a cinnamon stick.  We will grind the cinnamon using a cheese grater.  While yes, we could use pre-made ground cinnamon, it won’t be as coarse or look as nice.  So, go ahead and grind just a small amount of the cinnamon.  To do this, place your cinnamon stick horizontally across your grater and move it across the grater quickly.  Finally, sprinkle the ground cinnamon on top of the candle.  Then, give your wick and little curl and your candle is finished.  Just remember to let the candle cure for a few day before using it or selling it.  This will ensure that your candle’s scent is a strong as possible.

Are you now craving the real thing?  I have tried many eggnog recipes myself.  Personally, my favorite eggnog recipe is this eggnog recipe from Tastes Batter From Scratch.  It is thick, creamy, and delicious.  It is sure to be an instant hit!

Pumpkin-Pie-Candle-RecipePumpkin Pie Candle Recipe

With Thanksgiving right around the corner and all things pumpkin on your mind, I am sure you are going to love this project.  We were inspired by pumpkin pie of course!  That scrumptious, flaky pie crust, the sweet spice of pumpkin center, topped off with fluffy creamy whipped topping!  Your mouth is watering isn’t it?  Are you craving a slice of this tasty treat?  You could head to the kitchen and get baking.  Alternatively, you could save yourself some calories and make a candle instead.  However, I will warn you, if you have company over, they will probably walk in, take one sniff, and expect the real thing.  Our customers say Pumpkin Pie Spice Fragrance Oil smell just like a freshly baked pumpkin pie.  We agree it is strong, authentic, and amazing!

Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe Ingredients

Ingredients available at Natures Garden:

Joy Wax
Pillar of Bliss Wax
Pumpkin Pie Spice Fragrance Oil
Silicone Soap Mold –  24 Mini Pumpkins
Spectrum Liquid Candle Dye Brown
Spectrum Liquid Candle Dye Yellow
Spectrum Liquid Candle Dye Orange
CD 12 Candle Wicks – You will need two of these.
Pouring Pot
Thermometer

Other Ingredients You Will Need:
Scale
Hot Glue Gun
16 Ounce Apothecary Jar
Toothpicks
A Pot (For Double Boiler)
Stainless Steel Mixing Spoon

Working With Natures Garden’s Pillar of Bliss Candle Wax

We will start by preparing the embed for the top of the candle using our Pillar of Bliss Wax.  Since it is a pillar wax, it will pop out of the mold nicely.  Before beginning, we should go over the temperature recommendations for this pillar and tart wax.  Heat the wax to 195 degrees Fahrenheit.  Once it reaches this temperature, add your color, stir to incorporate the color.  Then, allow the temperature to drop to 180 degrees Fahrenheit before adding the fragrance oil.  Anytime you are melting candle wax use a double boiler.  This means placing water in a pot on the stove, then placing your pouring pot the warm water.  Also, remember to melt the wax on low heat.  Using low heat will prevent the wax from burning.

Working With Natures Garden’s Joy Wax

For the majority of our Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe, we will be using Joy Wax.  Joy Wax is a container wax.  What this means is it is made to adhere to whatever container you put it in.  If we tried to use the same pillar wax we used earlier, it would not cling to the jar.  So, since we want a nice glass adhesion, we chose a container wax.  First, we will go over the temperature instructions for the Joy Wax.  As always, you will want to melt the wax on low, and in a double boiler.  Heat the Joy Wax to 200 Fahrenheit. Add the candle colorant at this temperature. Let the container wax cool to 175-170F.  At this temperature, add fragrance oil. For the best results, we have found that pouring at 165-160F works well.

Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe Step by Step Instructions

Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe EmbedPumpkin Pie Candle Recipe: How to Prepare the Wax Embed

Now, get the silicone pumpkin mold out, and we will start creating our wax melt embed.  First, you will need your pouring pot and your scale.  Place the pouring pot on the scale.  Next, add 1 ounce of Pillar of Bliss Wax.  Following the wax instructions above, melt your wax.  Use a toothpick to add a bit of the orange candle colorant.  Then, at the correct temperature, place your pouring pot on the scale, and add 0.1 ounces of Pumpkin Pie Spice Fragrance Oil.  Stir with your stainless steel mixing spoon to fully incorporate all of the ingredients.  Finally, pour the orange candle wax into one of the cavities of the pumpkin mold and let it set up.  Once it has set up remove it from the mold, set it aside.  You will not need it until we are finished making the pumpkin candle.

Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe: How to Prepare Your Jar

We chose to use an apothecary jar for this recipe.  Prior to creating your candle, you will need to have two CD 12 candle wicks.  You will also want to plug in and heat up your hot glue gun.  Place a dab of hot glue to the metal wick tab of each wick.  Adhere the candle wick to the bottom of the jar.  You want them to be equally spaced.  Also, be sure they are centered.

Pumpkin-Pie-Candle-Recipe-Layer-1Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe: How to Prepare the Pie Crust Layer

The next step will be preparing the bottom layer.  Our goal here is to achieve the color of the pie crust.  This layer will start at the bottom and go about one inch up.  Again, using your scale, place four ounces of Joy Wax in the pouring pot.  Melt the wax as described above.

When your Joy Wax is at the correct temperature, add your candle colorant.  You will need to add 1 drop brown liquid candle dye.  Then, use a toothpick to add a bit of yellow.  Stir to blend the color completely with the wax.  Next, place the pouring pot on your scale.  Add 0.4 ounces of Pumpkin Pie Spice Fragrance Oil.  Once the wax reaches the correct temperature, pour it into the jar.  Remember, this is a layered candle.  Pay close attention to the sides of the jar.  You do not want to splash the wax on the sides of the jar.  I recommend pouring slowing, and also down the center of the jar.  Place a pencil across the opening of your jar.  Wrap your wick around the pencil.  This will keep your wicks centered and straight.  We allowed this layer to fully set up before moving to the next step.

Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe: How to Prepare the Pumpkin Layer

Pumpkin-Pie-Candle-Recipe-Poured-LayerNow, we will move to the second layer, the delicious pie filling.  This layer will also use our Joy Wax.  Also, this portion will fill the majority of the jar.  Now, get that scale out again.  Weigh out 10 ounces of Joy wax.  Melt the wax in the same manner you did before.

Next, to achieve the pumpkin pie color you will need three of our liquid candle dyes.  We used orange, brown, and yellow candle colorant.  Add 2 drops orange, one yellow, and one brown.  Alternatively, you could use color blocks.  However, you will need to play with the amounts a bit.  You will use two parts orange and one part of each brown and yellow color blocks.  Once you add your color, stir slowly, but thoroughly, to blend the color with the wax.

Pumpkin-Pie-Candle-Recipe-Layer-2Now, at the proper temperature, add 1 ounce of Pumpkin Pie Spice Fragrance Oil.  Mix well.  Lastly, remove the pencil keeping your wick in place.  Then, pour the wax into the apothecary jar.  Now straighten the wicks.  Put the pencil across the top of your jar.  Again, once your wicks are straight, and centered, wrap the candle wicks around the pencil again.  As before, allow this layer to harden completely.

Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe: How to Prepare the Whipped Topping Layer

The final layer will be a whipped cream topping layer.  This layer also uses Joy Wax.  However, we will use it a bit differently.  We will be whipping the wax.  This will give the candle wax a whipped cream appearance.  You will prepare the wax as you have before.  The only exception is we will not be pouring it at 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pumpkin-Pie-Candle-Recipe-Adding-FragranceGo ahead and get that scale out one last time.  Weigh out and melt 8 ounces of Joy Wax.  We will not be adding color to this portion.  The natural color of the Joy Wax represents the color of whipped cream nicely.  Go ahead and add 0.8 ounces of the pumpkin pie fragrance at the normal 170 – 175 degrees Fahrenheit.  Mix well to incorporate the fragrance oil.

Now, this time, instead of pouring, let the wax set up a little bit.  You want your wax to be a slushy consistency.  Once it gets to this state, use your stainless steel spoon to whip the wax.  Whip the wax until it has a fluffy whipped cream texture. Now, remove the pencil, but as you begin adding your wax, remember you want the wicks to stay centered. Start adding your whipped wax to the top of the pumpkin layer.  Use the spoon to create peaks in the wax.  You will need to work pretty quickly.  Move to the next step before your wax finishes hardening.

Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe Finishing Touches

Remember that wax pumpkin embed you made earlier with our Pillar of Bliss Wax?  This is where you will need it.  Place that embed in front of your candle wicks.  You want to sink it slightly into your whipped topping.  Additionally, we looped the wick around the pencil before removing it.  This created a decorative curled wick.  However, it should be trimmed to 1/4 inches before burning.  We should also note, the pumpkin embed is purely decorative.  We recommend removing it prior to burning the candle.  It is a wax melt that can be used in yours or your customer’s wax burner.  It does, however, make for an adorable finishing touch on the candle.  We recommend letting the candle cure for a couple days prior to burning it.  But after that, light your candle and let the pumpkin aroma soar.

We hope that you enjoyed making our Pumpkin Pie Candle Recipe with us!  Nature’s Garden feels it will make a wonderful centerpiece on your Thanksgiving table, or as a decoration in your home.  Not only does it smell amazing, but it looks fabulous too!  It has a strong scent and we are sure both you and you guests will love it this holiday season!   Once you finishing making this candle recipe we would love to see your results.  Take a picture of your finished candle!  Then tag us on Facebook or Instagram!  We can’t wait to see your homemade pumpkin pie candles!
