Prepare Your Water for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe Prepare Your Water for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe

Before you work to create this diy conditioner recipe, you will need to sanitize the water for your homemade conditioner recipe. In order to do this you are going to boil the water to destroy any bacteria that may have be present. Since you are going to need at least 425 grams of the sanitized water to create your conditioner. Since some water will boil away during this process, you will want to have some extra water to your pot to ensure that you have enough water for your diy conditioner recipe. You will need to heat the water to at least 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Once you have the water at this temperature, you will need to keep the water there for at least twenty minutes. Now that your water has been completely sanitized, you are ready to create your scented bath and body recipe!

Create the Double Boiler for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe

Next, you are going to want to create the double boiler for this homemade conditioner recipe. While you will still want to stir periodically as your cosmetic ingredients are melting, the double boiler will be useful for preventing your oils and butters from scorching. To create your own double boiler you will need two pots that will fit into each other. In the larger pot, you will add a bit of water. This will be heated to a boil and used to control how fast the cosmetic ingredients will be heated. Also, you will need to add more water if too much evaporates away. Next, place your smaller pot into your pot with water. You will want to make sure that you add enough water to touch the small pot but not too much water where it could boil over into your conditioner making ingredients. Now, you are ready to add you cosmetic ingredients to melt in your double boiler.

Now, you are going to need to prepare your cosmetic making ingredients for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe. So, you are going to need to use your double boiler to melt these ingredients. You will need to weigh out and add 25 grams of Vegetable Glycerin, 25 grams of BTMS 25, and 20 grams of Argan Oil to the inner pot of your double boiler. While the double boiler will help to prevent scorching, you will still want to stir periodically as the ingredients are melting. After all your cosmetic oils and butters have melted, you can remove them from the heat. Then, you will want to wait for these ingredients to cool until they reach about 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

Customizing the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe

While we have provided a hair conditioner recipe that you can follow, you can customize the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe with a few changes without needing to reformulate the entire recipe. Depending on your hair type, different cosmetic oils may be better for your hair than others. So, you may want to change out some of the cosmetic oils in this wholesale conditioner recipe. Since we used a total of 20 grams of cosmetic oil in this recipe, you can switch out the type of oil used for one that would work better using the same amount. For instance, you could change the 20 grams of the Argan Oil that is already in the recipe to 20 grams of Coconut Oil. So, you wouldn’t add the Argan Oil and would add the Coconut Oil to the cosmetic recipe instead. If you are interested in picking a new cosmetic oil for your hair care recipe, then you can read about different oils for various hair types in our Best Oils for Your Hair Type blog.

Emulsifying the Ingredients for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner RecipeEmulsifying the Ingredients for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe

Once your cosmetic ingredients have reached the proper temperature, you can move on to emulsifying the water and cosmetic oils together for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe. First of all, you are going to weigh out the 425 grams of the sanitized water. You will want to have both the water and melted oils to be about 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Once your ingredients reach this temperature, you will be able to add your melted cosmetic oils to the mixing bowl of water. Now, you will want to use your stick blender to fully emulsify these wholesale cosmetic ingredients.

Before adding the next cosmetic ingredients to this conditioner recipe, you will need to wait for your emulsified mixture to cool down. Your mixture will need to be around 120 degrees Fahrenheit before you can continue with the process. After reaching this temperature, you can add in 5 grams of the Optiphen Preservative and 5 grams of the Vitamin E Oil. After adding these cosmetic ingredients to the mixture, you can use your stick blender to fully incorporate all of these cosmetic ingredients.

Scenting the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner RecipeScenting the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe

Now you are ready to add the scent to your hair conditioner recipe. You will need to weigh and add 26 grams of the Cancan Type Fragrance Oil. This gorgeous scented oil has a fresh mandarin aroma that is balanced with hints of apple peel. Further, this feminine fragrance continues with a floral accord of jasmine, violet and lily. These scents blend to balance with notes of woodland fern and the hints of berry at the heart of this scent. Finally, a sensual blend of cashmere musk, golden amber and vanilla bean creates a romantic sweetness that surrounds the floralcy. After adding this scented oil to your mixture, you will want to stick blend everything together.

At this point, your conditioner will be still be thin. So, you will need to wait to let this mixture cool to room temperature. As your lotion cools it will thicken to the right consistency. Then, you can move on to the next step in the process.

Preparing the Lotion Pumps for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner RecipePreparing the Lotion Pumps for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe

While you are waiting for your conditioner to cool down to room temperature, you can resize your lotion pumps. In total, you are going to need two of these pumps. To determine how much you need to cut you can stand the pump up next to your 8 ounce plastic lotion bottles wholesale. You will want to trim the pump so that it is long enough to reach the bottom of the bottle and short enough to allow you to screw on the cap. Once your lotion pump has been trimmed, you can move on to the next step in the process.

Filling Cosmetic Plastic Bottles for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner RecipeFilling Cosmetic Plastic Bottles for the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe

As the mixture cools down, you will find that the homemade conditioner will begin to thicken up. Once the hair care mixture reaches room temperature, you can begin filling your lotion bottles wholesale. You can use a funnel to more easily transfer the conditioner into the 8 oz plastic bottles with pump. You will be able to fill up two of these bullet bottles with this bath and body recipe. Once both of your wholesale conditioner bottles are filled up, you are ready to add the lotion pump lids.

Decorating the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Bottles

Now, you are going to be decorating the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner bottles for this cosmetic recipe. Each bottle will have a bling ribbon and an acrylic jewel added. So, you are going to need to warm up your hot glue gun to adhere these decorations to the wholesale packaging supplies.

Adding the Bling Ribbon to the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe

First you are going to be adding the bling ribbon to your wholesale plastic bottle. So, you will want to wrap the ribbon around the circumference of the bottle. Then, cut enough ribbon for it to reach all the way around the middle of the bottle. After cutting this ribbon, you will use your glue gun to adhere both ends of the ribbon to the bottle. Once the glue dries, you will need to repeat this step with your other cosmetic bottle. Then, you can move on to the next step.

Adding the Acrylic Jewels to the Argan Oil Hair Conditioner Recipe

Next, you will be adding the acrylic jewels to your cosmetic bottles. You will want to line up the purple acrylic jewel on the bling ribbon. Then, you will need to glue the bling gem into place. Be sure to secure one of the bling jewels to each of the cosmetic bottles.

13 Fun Slime Ideas13 Fun Slime Ideas

Last week Natures Garden had so much fun creating scented slime!  It was a day of slime making that I personally will never forget!  Today, let’s look at some fun slime ideas for all of the slime makers out.  Below, we are going to share some of our very favorite scented slimes using some of our most popular slime scents!  We will look at some of the key ingredients used in slime.  In addition, we will talk about some of the fun decorative things you can do with slime.  We also look at coloring options for slime making.

13 Fun Slime Ideas: A Basic Slime Recipe

Before we look at our 13 fun slime ideas or ways to jazz up your slime, let’s talk about the ingredients and some slime making basics.  First, you will need glue and shaving cream.  In addition, you will need borax and water.  Finally, the fun stuff!  You will need color, scent, and fragrance oil.

Creating the Borax SolutionA Basic Slime Recipe:  Creating the Borax Solution

First, you will need to create a borax solution.  In a bullet bottle, add 8 ounces of warm water.  Then, add 1/2 teaspoon of borax.  Place a disc lid on top, in the closed position.  Then, shake the bottle to mix the ingredients together.  Set this aside, for now, we will come back to it.

Mixing the Glue and Shaving CreamA Basic Slime Recipe:  Mixing the Glue and Shaving Cream

We found that we like adding shaving cream to ours to give our slime a nice fluffy look.  However, if you are using clear glue, you will not want to do this.  Your slime will not remain clear.  In deep mixing bowl, add one cup of Elmer’s Glue.  Then, add about two cups of shaving cream.  Use your hands to mix everything together.

Adding the Fragrance Oil and ColorA Basic Slime Recipe:  Adding the Fragrance Oil and Color

Now, we will add color and scent.  These two ingredients can be added right to the glue/shaving cream mixture.  Once you have added the scent and color, mix everything together.  When choosing a color you have a couple of options.  You can use either the FUN Soap Colorants or Da Bomb Soap Dyes.  When scenting your slime, you want to make sure you use a body safe fragrance oil and do not go over the maximum usage rate found on the IFRA certificate for that fragrance oil.  The IFRA certificate can be found in the description of each fragrance oil.

Adding the Borax Solution to the Other IngredientsA Basic Slime Recipe:  Adding the Borax Solution to the Other Ingredients

Now, you will need the borax solution you created.  Add a small amount of the borax solution to the bowl containing your glue mixture.  Then, mix everything together.  Continue to add small amounts of the borax solution and mixing until you have a fluffy slime consistency.  However, be careful not to add too much of the solution.  If you add too much, you slime will not stretch.  If you do not add enough, however, it will be too sticky.  Once you create your slime, you can package it in these jars and lids.

A Basic Slime Recipe: Decorating Your Slime

You have several options when it comes to decorations.  You can add glitter, slime charms, beads, and confetti.  The sky is the limit.  Below, we will show you some of the ways we decorated our slime to give it a fun twist.  We took into consideration the scent that we were using when creating the slime and had so much fun making scented slime!

Yummy Gummy Slime13 Fun Slime Ideas: Yummy Gummy Slime

First, we have the Yummy Gummy Slime.  This slime recipe uses Natures Garden’s Yummy Gummy Fragrance Oil.  So, what does the Yummy Gummy scent smell like?  If you guessed gummy bears you would be correct.  Keep reading for a little more about this scent.  This slime uses green glitter to color the clear glue slime.  In addition, we added gummy bear charms that pair perfectly with this fun candy aroma!  How did we make this slime?  We started with a basic slime recipe.  Then, we added the scent and some bright neon green glitter.  Once everything was mixed together, we added the adorable little gummy bears.

Yummy Gummy Fragrance OilYummy Gummy Slime:  Yummy Gummy Fragrance Oil

Yummy Gummy fragrance oil is a Natures Garden original scent. These gummy candies are a favorite of so many.  This gummy candy is bursting with fruity flavor and goodness.  The top notes of this fragrance oil include orange, peach, and lemon.  Those top notes are followed by middle notes of coconut, raspberry, and grape that lead to base notes of plum, pear, and a sweet vanilla.

13 Fun Slime Ideas: Bacon Slime

Next, we have the bacon slime created at Natures Garden.  This slime was created using white glue and shaving cream.  It was then scented with bacon fragrance oil.  Once we created the slime, we divided our slime into three equal portions.  Each portion was placed into its own bowl.  Then, we colored our slime.  One of the three bowls was left uncolored.  One was colored with our red oxide FUN Soap Colorant.  To the third bowl, we added just a tiny bit of red oxide and a drop or two of the tomato red FUN Soap Colorant.  We mixed the colorant into each bowl, washing our hands in between mixing so we didn’t mix the colors.  Once we had the slime colored, we stretched the slime out and layered it.  Then, we placed it in the jar.

So what does the bacon fragrance oil smell like?  Bacon, of course.    It smells just like the real thing.  Who doesn’t love bacon!

Blue Raspberry Slushie Slime13 Fun Slime Ideas: Blue Raspberry Slushie Slime

Now, we have a blue raspberry slushie slime recipe to talk about.  This is another slime that uses white glue and shaving cream.  Once we created the actual slime and added the blue raspberry scent, we added some sparkle.  How did we make this slime sparkle like an ice cold slushie?  We added a few teaspoons of the Diamond Dust mica pigment from Natures Garden.  We also added about 5 drops or so of the blue Da Bomb Soap Dye.  Once we had everything mixed together, we added some ice blue slime beads to give the slime some texture.

So, what does the Blue Raspberry Slushie Fragrance Oil smell like?  It smells like those super awesome blue raspberry sno cones that we all love so much.  This slushie scent is the aroma of fresh raspberries, sweet cotton candy, and the effervescence pop of crisp crushed ice.

Bunny Slime13 Fun Slime Ideas: Bunny Slime

This one is just in time for Easter.  Our Bunny Slime is scented with Easter Bunny Burps Fragrance Oil.  We also used both white glue and shaving cream for a nice fluffy slime.  We also added Natures Garden’s ultramarine violet FUN Soap Colorant to get a pretty pastel purple color that is perfect for Springtime!  Once we created our scented slime, we added pink, purple, and blue slime confetti hearts and topped added a bunny slime charm to the top of the jar.

So, what does Easter Bunny Burps fragrance oil smell like?  Some might think an Easter Basket.  But, no, we wanted this scent to reflect any bunny’s lifestyle. This Natures Garden original scent is a vibrant blend of shimmering garden greens that lead to just a hint of fresh mint.  Then, a blend of spring flowers will hit you with green tones.  The scent is warmed with glowing notes of sandalwood and hints of musk to finish the scent.

Hot Fudge Brownie Slime13 Fun Slime Ideas: Hot Fudge Brownie Slime

So, next we have a hot fudge brownie slime.  This one not only looks AMAZING, but the scent is out of this world!  How did we make this slime?  This is another fluffy slime recipe using both white glue and shaving cream.  We scented it with Hot Fudge Brownies Fragrance Oil from Natures Garden.  Then, we colored about 2/3 of the slime with brown oxide and a small amount of black oxide FUN Soap Colorants to give it a chocolate color.  Finally, when placing it in our jar, we added the brown first, keep just a little bit of the brown to top the slime.  Once we added the white slime to the top we used that leftover brown to drizzle the top.  Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a cherry charm on top.  We also added a chocolate bar charm.

Hot Fudge Brownies fragrance oil by Natures Garden is the aroma of scrumptious chocolate brownies smothered in hot fudge with a slight hint of warm vanilla.  Our customers love the Hot Fudge Brownies fragrance oil so much that they have made it one of our bestsellers!

Fruity Rings Slime13 Fun Slime Ideas: Fruity Rings Slime

Next, we have the Fruity Rings Slime.  This slime scent is quite possibly our most popular.  This slime is simply a fluffy white slime.  We then scented it with Natures Garden’s Fruity Rings Fragrance Oils.  Then, we added fruity rings slime charms.  We wanted it to look just like a bowl of cereal, so we kept it simple with this slime recipe.  While it is simple to make, it clearly looks totally fabulous and smells wonderful too.

So, what does Fruity Rings Fragrance Oil smell like?  It can be compared to the fruit flavored rings cereal that we all love so much!  This Natures Garden fragrance oil begins with the aromas of lemon rinds, lime, and grapefruit.  This leads to middle notes of lemongrass, lily, and verbena.  This fruity scent is finished notes of vanilla and sugar.

Mermaid Slime13 Fun Slime Ideas: Mermaid Slime

So, next we have our Mermaid Slime.  Of course, we had to scent it with the Mermaid Kisses Fragrance Oil.  Once we created a fluffy scented slime, we divided our slime into three.  We used neon pink, neon blue, and ultramarine violet FUN Soap Colorants to color them.  We didn’t need much of each colorant, just enough to give the slime pretty pastel colors.  Once the slime was colored, we stretched it, layered it, and pressed it into the jar.  We added some fun purple star slime confetti and purple slime beads.  Finally, we added a purple shell charm and mermaid fin.

Mermaid Kisses Fragrance OilMermaid Slime: Mermaid Kisses Fragrance Oil

When sea salt and ocean mist meet ultra feminine floral notes,  you’ll experience this Natures Garden original scent.  Mermaid Kisses Fragrance Oil starts with notes of ocean mist mixed with sea moss and dewy cyclamen petals.  At the center of this feminine scent, you will find notes of geranium flowers along with water mint, and coriander seeds.  This all leads to a base of white cedar wood and earthy vetiver.

Cotton Candy Slime13 Fun Slime Ideas: Cotton Candy Slime

Now, let’s talk about the cotton candy slime.  Of course, we scented the slime with NG’s Cotton Candy Fragrance Oil.  This is a two toned pink and blue fun slime idea.  In fact, this is my personal favorite of our 13 fun slime ideas.  It is a fluffy slime using both Natures Garden’s neon pink FUN Soap Colorant and the neon blue FUN Soap Colorant.  Once scented, the slime was divided and colored.  Then, we placed the jar on its side to fill it.  We added the pink then, the blue slime right on top of the pink.  Once we filled the jar, we put it right side up and added blue heart slime confetti to the pink side and pink star confetti to the blue side.

So, what will your cotton candy scented slime smell like?  Cotton Candy Fragrance Oil is the sweet sugary aroma of freshly spun cotton candy.  It has a mixture of fresh strawberry and French vanilla.  It is also a Natures Garden best selling fragrance oil.

Bubblegum Slime13 Fun Slime Ideas: Bubblegum Slime

Now, we have bubblegum slime.  This slime recipe uses the red Da Bomb Soap Dye and Bubblegum Fragrance Oil, of course.  Once the slime was created, colored, and scented, we added some pink slime beads to give the slime a little texture.  In addition, we added some light pink heart confetti to show our love for this slime.  It is the perfect shade of bubble gum pink and smells just like the real thing!

So, what are the notes of Natures Garden’s Bubblegum Fragrance Oil?  Natures Garden’s bubble gum scent is an aroma of a sweet, juicy childhood bubblegum.  It starts with top notes of orange, banana, and pineapple.  Those top notes lead to middle notes of both cherry and peach.  Finally, the scent has lingering bottom notes of vanilla.

Pink Sugar Slime13 Fun Slime Ideas: Pink Sugar Slime

Now, let’s look at the pink sugar slime.  This fluffy slime uses the neon pink FUN Soap Colorant from Natures Garden along with one of my very favorite NG scents.  Of course, it uses Pink Sugar fragrance oil.  Throughout the slime, you will find white iridescent glitter to give this pink slime a ton of sparkle and a sweet sugary look that is perfect for the pink sugar scent.  Yes, I know, the sparkle does not come through very well in the picture.  However, trust me, it’s so very pretty!

Next, we have the buttered popcorn slime.  We used just a small amount of the yellow Da Bomb Soap Dye in this one along with Natures Garden’s buttered popcorn scent.  In addition, we topped this fluffy slime with some decorative yellow glitter!  If you love popcorn, you will adore this slime scent!

A few drops of the cosmetic colorant (NG FUN Soap Colorants or

How to Make Scented Slime with Borax: Creating the Borax Solution

First, you are going to need to create your borax solution for this recipe. While it is the first thing you create for this recipe, it will be the last thing that you will add to your slime mixture. So, you will need to add a teaspoon of the borax to an 8 oz bullet bottle to start. Then, you will add eight ounces or cup of warm water to the bottle (you will want to fill the eight ounce bullet bottle completely without overfilling). Then, you will need to add the smooth disc lid to the bullet bottle. Now, you need to make sure the lid is closed and sealed tight. Of course, any of our body safe fragrance oil would be safe for you to use to create your own homemade slime recipe! You need to make sure that these scents are body safe, which means you can add them to products that have a lot of contact with the skin. In the description for each of our fragrance oils, you can find out whether the scent you like can be used in slime.

However, some of our fragrance oils can only be added to candles and can’t be slime scents. These fragrance oils are often these are our spicy scents, like the Cinnamon Buns Fragrance Oil shown in the picture. Although small amounts of spice won’t irritate the skin, fragrances are concentrated to provide a fantastic aroma. So, the spice in strong fragrances can irritate the skin in this higher concentration. So, you will want to double check that your fragrance oils are body safe before you add them to your scented slime. If you want a short list of body safe scents that you can choose from, then you can check out our collection of favorite slime scents! All of these fun fragrance oils are perfect for adding to your homemade slime recipes.

How to Make Scented Slime with Borax: How Much Fragrance Can I Use?How to Make Scented Slime with Borax: How Much Fragrance Can I Use?

Once you’ve found your favorite fragrance oil for slime, you need to determine how much of the scented oil to add to your recipe. For this slime recipe, we would recommend that you use about 4 ml (about 5 grams) of fragrance oil. You can measure this amount using a disposable pipette. This will ensure that your amount of fragrance is within the maximum recommended amount to be body safe.

If you want to add even more fragrance to your slime recipe, then you will want to pay attention to the maximum usage rates. As you can see in the picture, the maximum use for lotions is provided. We would put slime in this category with lotion recipes as the slime would stay on your skin for longer periods of time. For our Bubble Gum Fragrance Oil, the maximum amount we could include would be 5% of the total recipe’s weight. So, in this slime recipe, you could a maximum 13 grams of fragrance. If you don’t have a craft scale to weigh this amount, you can easily use a food scale.

How to Make Scented Slime with Borax: How Do I Calculate the Amount of Fragrance Oil I Need?

If your chosen fragrance has a different suggested usage rate, you need to determine how much fragrance oil you plan to use. For this example, I will use 5% (which can be converted to 0.05). So, you need to weigh out your glue and shaving cream. You will simply take the weight of your slime and multiply by the percentage of fragrance oil that we suggest. We will use a cup of glue, which should weigh about 260 grams. So, you would multiply this weight by the suggested usage rate for this fragrance oil.

260 g x 0.05 = 13 g

This means that in this case, you will use 13 grams of fragrance oil.

How to Make Scented Slime with Borax: Adding the Soap Colorant and the Fragrance OilHow to Make Scented Slime with Borax: Adding the Soap Colorant and the Fragrance Oil

Now that you have your colorants and fragrance oils pick out, you are ready to add them to your mixture. You can add in a drop or two of your colorant and mix everything together. Then, you can decide whether you need to add more color. Also, you can use a toothpick to add an amount that is even smaller than a drop. Just dip the toothpick into the colorant and swirl it into your mixture. Once you have a good color, you can add a body safe fragrance oil that you enjoy! Once these are both added, you can mix everything together and move on to the last step!

How to Make Scented Slime with Borax: Mixing Your SlimeHow to Make Scented Slime with Borax: Mixing Up Your Finished Slime

Now, you are ready to finish mixing your slime. So, you will need your mixture in the medium bowl and the borax solution from before. You will add about one tablespoon to start. Then, begin to mix your slime. We suggest that you use your hands to mix. If you’d like, you can wear disposable gloves while you mix in the borax solution. You will need to add another tablespoon of the borax solution and mix. You will want to continue going back and forth between adding borax and mixing until you reach the right consistency. If the mixture is too sticky, then continue to add more borax. However, you will want to avoid adding too much borax. If you add too much of the borax solution, your slime will be too stiff and not as stretchy. So, make sure you add only small amounts of the solution at a time.

How to Make Scented Slime with Borax: Storing Your Slime for Later

After you have gotten the right consistency for your slime, your slime is finished and ready to use! Of course, you can play with and enjoy your finished recipe. When you are ready to put the slime away, you can use an 8 oz clear jar to store it.  Simply put the lid on your clear jars and you can put your slime away for later use. So, your pretty slime with its scrumptious scent will last for another day of fun!

Juniper Berry BenefitsJuniper Berry Benefits

There are many different ways to gain Juniper Berry benefits for your body. First, you can include these berries in your food to create some delicious and unique recipes. This may help provide your body with various nutrients and beneficial properties. Also, you could create bath and body recipes that integrate these properties to benefit the body. Plus, these Juniper Berries whole can be used to decorate various Natures Garden recipes. So, this herb is useful to both decorate your creations and provide beneficial properties for these recipes.

Juniper Berry Benefits: Growing ConditionsJuniper Berry Benefits: Growing Conditions

Juniper Berry plants are most common in the Northern Hemisphere and they come in a few different varieties. You can tell these varieties apart by their heights, as they are either one and a half feet tall, four feet tall, six feet tall, or twenty-five feet tall. So, these plants can vary from the sizes of small shrubs to large trees. Since they are similar to conifers, they have needles or scales that are useful for helping the plant survive droughts. But, this means that the Juniper plant can’t handle being over watered. If they have wet soil that doesn’t drain well, they will suffer. So, you should never need to water your plant unless there have been severe drought conditions. Although Junipers prefer acidic soil, they can grow in a variety of soil types. Also, they will prefer to be exposed to full sun.

Juniper Berry Benefits: Harvesting Your Juniper Berries

First, make sure that you do in fact have an edible variety of juniper before you begin your harvest. The most common edible variety of juniper is Juniperus communis, but there are many varieties out there that are poisonous or bitter tasting. After you are sure you have the correct tree, you will want to pick the soft berries that are a blue/black color. Make sure that you don’t pick unripe berries as they won’t dry properly. Then, you can dry your berries by allowing them to set inside at room temperature for approximately three weeks. Once the berries are dried you will need to remove any berries that are brown or have viable entrance holes. These berries will have bugs living inside them. Lastly, you can either use your berries immediately or store them in an airtight jar for up to a year.

Juniper Berry Benefits: Caution for Anyone that has Apple Trees

You may want to hold off on planting a juniper berry tree/shrub if you have an apple tree. There is a fungus that can infect your apple tree called cedar-apple rust. It will begin growing on the juniper trees or shrubs first. Then, the fungus can make its way to any of the apple trees nearby. So, you would be putting your apple trees at risk by planting juniper nearby. However, anyone without apple trees won’t have to worry about this disease transfer.

Juniper Berry Benefits: Industry Uses

You can find many different ways to use juniper berries in a variety of products. First, you can use this herb to spice up your meals or to flavor gin. Also, you can create a tonic or tea to benefit from some of the medicinal properties of juniper. Further, you can use this botanical herb to create wonderful bath and body recipes. So, let’s look into the benefits that you can gain from adding this herb to your products.

Juniper Berry Benefits: Medicinal Uses for Juniper BerriesJuniper Berry Benefits: Medicinal Uses

In ancient medicine, Juniper Berries were used to treat all kinds of illnesses. Plus, many different cultures developed ideas of how they could use this herb in their medical practices. This lovely herb was considered to be able to purify blood and was thought to boost stamina for the Greeks. Also, ancient Egyptians used Juniper to embalm their dead. Then, Juniper was made into a tonic that became popular by Europeans in the 17th century. While this was originally created as a diuretic, this juniper tonic quickly became known as gin.

Juniper Berry Benefits: Medicinal Uses for Juniper Berries

Today, there are many medicinal uses for juniper berries. Primarily, this herb continues to be used as a diuretic. These berries can be used to get your kidneys to work more efficiently, which will stimulate your urinary passages. While this can be useful for helping reduce renal insufficiency, weakness of the bladder, or weakness of the urethra, it is dangerous for a kidney infection. So, you should ask a doctor before using this herb if you have any urinary tract issues.

Plus, the antimicrobial and antifungal properties in this herb have been found to be useful against certain infections. For example, studies have shown that this herb can be used to fight the bacteria that cause illnesses like E. coli, pneumonia, gonorrhea, Staphylococcus aureus, and more! Further, this herb’s antiseptic properties are useful for treating scrapes and cuts to prevent infection. Also, this herb is a carminative agent that has been known to help move gas through the body. Further, it is thought to prevent more gas from being produced while it is in your system. So, this herbal property can be used to reduce indigestion, chest pain, and stomach aches. Furthermore, Juniper can be used to prevent stomach ulcers and get the stomach back on track. This is due to the herb promoting stomach bile secretion, which protects the inner lining of the stomach.

Also, this herb can be used to reduce symptoms of joint pain, gout, and rheumatoid arthritis. Juniper can help with these conditions as this herb improves blood circulation and helps remove toxins from the body. These toxins are flushed out using excess sweating, which will help clear your pores, too. Further, there are properties in this cosmetic herb that help to reduce swelling. Also, this herb is useful for reducing muscle cramps and spasms.

Juniper Berry Benefits: Food and BeveragesJuniper Berry Benefits: Food and Beverages

In areas of Northern Europe, like  Scandinavia, Germany, or some regions of France, Juniper is commonly used as a spice for cooking. It is most popular to use Juniper to spice up meaty dishes, like chicken or beef. Just make sure not to overcook the herb, as it can draw out an unpleasant, bitter flavor. Instead, you may want to try toasting them. However, Americans are more likely to have added juniper in their gin than their meals. In fact, gin was named after Juniper in the Dutch language. The taste of juniper is uniquely refreshing and tangy with notes of pine and citrus. Anyone that wants to add more juniper into their diet should check out 16 Recipes That Make the Most of Juniper Berries by Brit + Co.

Juniper Berry Benefits: Bath and Body ProductsJuniper Berry Benefits: Bath and Body Products

Also, you can add this herb to various cosmetic recipes to provide the body with a variety of benefits. Of course, you can add these berries whole to your recipe. However, this is not the only way to use this herb. You can create an herbal tea with this cosmetic supply to add to your recipes, as well. Further, you can infuse your oils with the properties of dried Juniper Berries. So, there are many different ways that you can add some juniper berries to your products.

First, antibacterial and antiseptic properties have been found in Juniper. These properties can be useful for treating minor cuts and scrapes, as this herb will protect the body from infection. Also, the known astringent and detoxifying properties are useful for helping to control sebum production and balance oily skin. This is perfect for helping to prevent clogged pores or breakouts. Plus, these properties can be beneficial for improving skin tone and help to shrink your pore size. So, this is another way that Juniper can be used to help reduce the production of sebum. Not only is this property great for balancing the sebum production of oily skin, but it can be useful for preventing acne breakouts.

Plus, this herb is helpful for reducing blemishes, rashes, and eczema. Also, this herb will help bring more blood to the skin. This will help nourish skin cells and promote healthy growth. Also, the antioxidants in this herb can be used to fight oxidation damage, which can leave the skin looking aged. So, adding this herb to your skin care will help prevent signs of premature aging.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Prepare and Sanitize

Before you begin creating this bath and body recipe, you may want to make a few preparations. First, gather all the equipment and supplies that you will need to finish these bath bombs. Also, you may want to clean your equipment to ensure that it is ready to use. Additionally, you may want to prepare a spray bottle full of witch hazel, as it will be important for making bath bombs. Second, you will want to clean and sanitize a work area that you can use to create this recipe.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Preparing the Dry IngredientsLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Preparing the Dry Ingredients

First, you are going to want to get the dry ingredients ready for your bath bomb recipe. So, take you first medium mixing bowl and a scale. Now, weigh out the 300 grams of the Citric Acid, 600 grams of the Baking Soda,182 grams of the Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, and 10 grams of the Bentonite Clay Powder. After adding all of these ingredients, you will need to mix these powders together with your gloved hands. As you mix, make sure that any clumps you com across get broken up. Once these ingredients are smooth and mixed, you can move on to the next step of these instructions.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Preparing the Wet Ingredients

Next, you are ready to prepare the wet ingredients that you will need for this recipe. So, grab a second mixing bowl and the scale. Weigh 18 grams of the Sunflower Oil into this bowl. In addition to the cosmetic oil, you will need to include 18 grams of our Floral Musk Fragrance Oil. Now that these ingredients are added, you are ready to move on to the next step.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Combining the Wet and Dry Ingredients

Once both the wet and dry ingredients are prepared, you will be ready to combine the two mixtures. So, add the wet ingredients to your mixing bowl of dry ingredients. Now, use your gloved hands to thoroughly mix these ingredients together. You will need to continue to mix until everything is incorporated well. As soon as the ingredients look evenly dispersed, you can stop mixing.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Dividing the Mixture

Now you are going to be dividing your bath bomb mixture into two even portions. You can add each portion to one of your two mixing bowls. Set one of these bowls aside for the moment. We will be adding a few cosmetic ingredients to the other bowl in the next few steps.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Adding the Lavender FlowersLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Adding the Lavender Flowers

First, we will be working with the first portion of the bath bomb mixture. So, take one of the mixing bowls full of half the mixture and the scale. Now, you will be adding about 5 grams of the Lavender Flowers Whole herb to this portion of the cosmetic recipe. Again, you will need to use a gloved hand to mix the wholesale herb into the recipe fully.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Spraying the Mixture

Now, you are ready to get these ingredients to stick together. So, use a gloved hand to mix the ingredients as you spray with witch hazel. Mixing as you spray will help to incorporate the witch hazel and let you know when you added enough spray. Once the mixture reaches a certain consistency, you will need to stop spraying the mixture. So, continue to mix and spray until the mixture begins to feel like crumbly dough. You will want to work slow and be careful not to add to much spray as it can ruin the recipe. Adding to much witch hazel can activate the ingredients early and lead to fizzing in the bowl. So, be sure to pay attention.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Filling Half of the Bath Bomb Molds

After, you are going to be ready to start filling up your bath bomb molds. You will need to take the seven bath bomb mold halves and get them ready to fill. Then, begin taking this mixture and filling one half of each wholesale mold. Make sure that you aren’t filling both sides of the same mold, as there is a top and bottom to each wholesale bath bomb mold. We would suggest filling the top half with this first mixture. You will need to make sure that you are packing the dough mixture into the bath bomb half tightly. Packing the mold well will ensure that the ingredients stick together and the bath bomb holds its shape.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Adding Herb Powder and Soap ColorantLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Adding Herb Powder and Soap Colorant

Next, you will be working with the other half of the bath bomb mixture. In this bowl you will be adding 5 grams of the Lavender Flowers Powder and 6 grams of the Ultramarine Violet FUN Soap Colorant. Once these ingredients are added you will need to mix them well. Once again you will need to use a gloved hand to fully incorporate the herb powder and the colorant into the mixture.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Spraying the Second PortionLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Spraying the Second Portion

Then, you are going to be spraying this second portion of the bath bomb mixture with your witch hazel. Just like before you will need to use your gloved hand to mix as you spray. Once this portion of the bath bomb mixture reaches the same crumbly dough consistency, you will be ready to move on to the next step. While this recipe should require about the same amount of witch hazel as before, you should still pay attention to the consistency to ensure that you don’t spray too much.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Filling the Bottom of the Molds

Next, we are going to be filling up the other halves of the bath bomb molds. The first portion of the bath bombs molds should each be in the top of the bath bomb mold. So, you can fill the bottom of these molds with this second portion of the dough mixture. Again, you will need to pack the dough in tightly. Also, you need to do it this way to sure that each pair is matched up correctly, as the tops will only fit on the bottoms. If you mess this up, then you can end up with bath bombs that aren’t half and half. Once you are done, you should have seven purple bath bomb halves that are packed full.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Combining the Bath Bomb Molds

Now that both of the two portions are packed tightly into the bath bomb molds, you are ready to combine the halves. So, take one half that is uncolored, which should be in a top piece, and one half that is purple, which should be in a bottom piece. Next, you are going to lightly spray each of the two halves. After you spray, you can push the two pieces together to create a whole bath bomb! You will need to repeat this step for all of the bath bombs.

Lavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Finishing the Bath BombsLavender Bath Bomb Recipe: Finishing the Bath Bombs

Lastly, you will need to wait for your bath bombs to completely set up. So, you will need to place your bath bombs in a safe place that they can rest until they have completely hardened. This can take up to 24 hours.  Once these bath bombs are set up, they are ready to remove from the mold! Alternatively, you can leave these bath and body products in their molds until you are ready to use them. So, the mold can serve as a simple bath bomb packaging idea!
