We have not had these ingredients confirmed by an independent lab due to the fact that having reverse engineering done for each soap and every batch of soap we buy from the manufacturer would be far too cost prohibitive for our small company. Natures Garden does not manufacturer or label our melt and pour soap bases; our manufacturer does this. Our soap bases are manufactured in a facility that also manufactures melt and pour soap bases that contain propylene glycol. It is a possibility that our bases, whether listed on the label or not, contain propylene glycol. The process of making melt and pour soap is proprietary information that only the manufacturer knows. All of the soaps listed below are considered "SOAP", and are regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Our manufacturer is under no obligation to provide an ingredient listing for "soap", but he did so as a courtesy to our customers. As long as you do not make any claims besides these soap bases being "soap", you are not required to list the ingredients on your labels. For "soap" (not cosmetics), the Consumer Product Safety Commission mandates that the following information be listed on your label:

  1. Text on the package that identifies the product as "Soap"

Difficult to work with, but produces a good bar...

3 SHEA BUTTER Melt and Pour SOAP

Reviewer: from Wooster, OH

This was my first time using a MP base from NG. I cut the base up into cubes and melted 1/2 the base in 30sec intervals. It seemed like it was taking longer than it should. I finally got it all melted down and barely had enough time to get from my microwave to my table (a few steps) before it was hardening up. I kept stirring and stirring and checked with my temperature gun often. I was waiting for the temp to lower enough to add my EO. It poured nicely into one mold at about 130F and then became a gloppy mess (I was working very quickly too)! It was so thick and looked horrible in the mold. I was using a 6 compartment square silicon mold. I had set out to do layers, but after pouring into one slot of the mold I barely had enough time to spritz rubbing alcohol to disperse bubbles before it was completely hardened.

I then ended up only melting 8 blocks at a time, and didn't add any EO. I had dispersed some rose clay in rubbing alcohol and added that in and then poured into the mold. When I unmolded the next day, the bars did not look as bad as I was expecting. I tested it in the shower and it created a nice lather and left my skin feeling nourished.

I was pleased with the end result, however it was such a pain to work with!

Not easy to work with.

1 SHEA BUTTER Melt and Pour SOAP

Reviewer: from Jacksonville, AL US

I normally use another brand of M&P but figured I'd try Nature's Garden since I was already placing a fragrance order. I'm so glad I only bought one block of this stuff. It barely wants to melt, even after multiple spins in the microwave. Then it thickens up almost immediately, taking on the consistency of melted plastic. By the time I got to the last of my molds, the soap was a thick, gloppy mess that didn't pour, but plopped into the mold. I will say that the finished bar is hard and lathers well, but working with this M&P is a nightmare.

HORRIBLE

1 SHEA BUTTER Melt and Pour SOAP

Reviewer: from Hialeah, FL US

I am not sure what in the world is going on. This is my first time using NG melt and pour and it's a disaster. I've used other brands. My melt and pour will not even allow me to bring the temperature down enough to add essential oils it's clumping and sticky. NOT HAPPY AT ALL. i have 140 bars to make for an event and my shipment came late.
