Not Much Crackle or Pop

Reviewer: A viewer from Parkersburg, WV USA 10/05/14

I had bought these from a different company and loved the crackle and pop. NG's are a lot more cheaper so I bought 80 of them. (yes, 80) I am really disappointed in these because the crackle and pop is very low and seldom compared to the ones I had ordered somewhere else. I have to have my ear right up on these to hear any crackle. The ones I ordered from a different place I could hear the crackle and pop across the room.

I have seen a few people say they won't light. The trick is to light them to the bottom where the wick meets the wax and not on top like you would a traditional cotton wick. I have no problems lighting them but there isn't much crackle, pop and sizzle.

A few of them split and came apart as if there were two of them glued together. I'm not sure if these have even been treated either. I am really disappointed in these wicks. I LOVE NG but will go back to my other supplier to buy these.

So so...

Reviewer: A viewer from Naples, NY US 02/07/14

The wax is pretty for sure. However, I found that the way it reacted with various fragrances and wicks was discouraging: the candle would either tunnel down or the wick would blaze very high, and the black soot left behind is not at all attractive. The colorant would also "morf" occasionally. The pretty candle sells but it's attractiveness fades after a burn.

I didnt know what to expect after reading the reviews, but I gave them a try anyways. I am super impressed! I have tried wood wicks from another company and have had better luck with the NG wood wicks. I did read a few reviews about the wicks being suck together, but Im pretty sure they are just doubled wicked. I wouldnt pull them apart! I will def be buying more of these!

What a difference!!

Reviewer: A viewer from Pittsburgh, PA US 12/01/12

I used these in my soy wax candles and they increased the scent throw. The wicks burn clean and the candle burns slowly and evenly. I can't get over the increase in the scent throw. I wll continue to use these!! I have more compliments on my candles since switching to these, even my 19 year old son noticed a difference!!

No crackling sound

Reviewer: A viewer from Columbia, MO US 08/03/13

I ordered 1 10 count package of these and was very disappointed. They did not make any crackling noise as I am use to. You also have to light your candle at least twice. I will be sticking to the regular wicks.

Wood Wicks

Reviewer: A viewer from Yukon, Canada 12/09/14

I just made two test candles using Ecosoya wax and Crackling Birch fragrance oil. I used the medium wood wick in a 2.5" container and the large in a 3" container. They are both burning well and I do hear the crackling sound as they burn. I had no trouble lighting them and what I liked was when I blew them out there was no smoke!! Other wicks often smoke and smell strong after blowing them out. I might try using the medium wick in the 3" container next time. I am going to buy more of these wicks :)

Snap, Crackle, Pop

Reviewer: A viewer from Virginia, US 10/08/13

I was uneasy about these at first, especially after the first time I lit the candle and didn't hear any crackling. The second time it was lit it definitely crackled. I think the trick is to keep the wick short to the wax and not have it more than 1/4" above. My only concern is that some of the wicks received look as if they are possibly stuck together or doubles, so when trying to separate them they broke. The thickness of them are a bit uneven, but customers love them.
