No Good

Reviewer: A viewer from Lancaster, CA US 07/31/13

I was really put off by all of the positive reviews that this fragrance got. I tried using it alone, and mixed with another vanilla based fragrance and it was just awful. It smelled like a mix between a tootsie roll and hazel nut coffee.

Yummy!!! Smells delicious!

I just bought a sample bottle of this & it is amazing. I use it for candles in paraffin wax & the cold & hot throw was awesome. Will be buying a bigger bottle.

Delicious scent!

This soap was a hit for me! It's very chocolatey and has just a hint of bakery cupcake scent. Very nice.

I had a few requests for a chocolate scent and when I mentioned that I was testing this all eyes in the store got very excited. I will be thrilled to add this to my line! Great hot throw after only 2 days cure time in 100% soy! I think every note described in this fragrance is dead on! Smells just like the scratch choco. cake and homemade frosting my grandma used to make!

Great in CP

Reviewer: A viewer from IN 01/26/10

I had to come back and leave another review on this scent as I finally got around to soaping this for valentines day. GREAT scent in CP! No morphing, no acceleration really to speak of in a 50/50 discount, it does discolor to the perfect chocolate brown color! Scent holds strong!

3.5 Stars - Cupcake? Not so much... but it's not bad

Reviewer: A viewer from Kalamazoo, MI 10/27/15

Out of bottle, this smells like an old school scratch and sniff chocolate sticker.

I made a batch of hot process soap and added this and some fun color brown to the mix. It seized up and turned to crumbs. I rebatched it with warm water, apricot oil and a little more colorant. Eventually it became smooth and I made cupcakes.

I used this fragrance in the frosting for my cupcakes too. I did use a stabilizer just to be on the safe side. It looks gorgeous, just a hint of cream color.

The scent reminds me a little of hazelnuts and tootsie rolls as another commenter mentioned. It's also kind of cupcake-y. There's an amaretto hint too. It's not bad, but I may try a different chocolate scent next time. :) I wanted cupcakes. This isn't quite it.

Very Strong

Reviewer: A viewer from Blandon, PA US 01/07/13

I use this scent in soy wax melts and candles. It is very strong and to me smells like straight up cocoa. Some of my customers find it to be too strong for them when they open it up to smell it.

I have tried and tried to get a good chocolate scent, that wasn't alcohol-y. I am NOT a fan a bakery scents, and figured from the description not only would I not like it, but it would turn any lotion I made brown. NOPE! This has become my absolute FAVORITE chocolate scent. I rarely use it on its own, I use it as part of specialized blends in my line, especially one I call Dark Night Solstice. This chocolate is PERFECT for it!! NO other chocolates I have tried give the excellent results that this does. OOB I still don't love it. But in product - Oh my! My last batch of lotion I made for sale I ended up keeping most of it because I love it so much - plus - I have no idea how - but NO discoloration AT ALL (I won't use stabilizer.)
I am making up three test batches of a new spritz blend, two with chocolates from elsewhere, and one with this one. This one is already *my* favorite of the three, and I bet I know which my testers will like best too. It is just the PERFECT chocolate for blending when you really want a nice dark chocolate note. Love it, and was just coming to the site to buy more, when I decided to leave a review!

Not Quite what I was looking for

Reviewer: A viewer from Warrenton, VA US 11/04/10

I agree that it is a good strong scent and you definitely notice the amaretto. I was looking for a chocolate FO for M&P soaps that children would be using, but the kids said that they smelled "funny", ( & not really like chocolate) . Perhaps the combination is just too sophisticated for them, I will continue the search for a more kid friendly chocolate.

Smells yummy enough to eat!!!!!

I use this in my line of cupcake soaps and its a huge hit! It literally smells like a freshly baked chocolate cupcake. The oil doesn't discolor the soap either. Definently a must have!
