4 out of 5 stars Incorrect Description 03/27/2014

From reading previous reviews, I knew that this product was not going to leave a red or pink color as described. But the resulting blue in MP was a very nice color I thought. In CP, it turns a tan or brown.

All reviewers thus far have agreed at least on one thing, the final color is not red/pink/orange or anything close. What I very strongly disagree with is that the alternative is an attractive color. Mine immediately turned an extremely undesirable black, sludge-like color. At the time I purchased this the production description clearly read, "Hibiscus flowers contain natural red pigment that can be obtained by infusing the flowers in oil." I followed Nature's Garden own herbal infusion instructions, and consulted multiple times with staff. But nothing changed this ugly color. This was my first real disappointment from Nature's Garden. There are plenty of other natural colorants sold here that are close to its original color and will look beautiful in your soap. You may still want to buy this for its considerable health benefits, but as my main goal was a reddish color it was a complete waste of money.
4 out of 5 stars Description is misleading 12/23/2013
Reviewer: Casey Carver from Cassville, PA US
Thankfully I had done my research and knew before hand that if you are using hibiscus as a color additive the end result will be a blue color. Hibiscus will never tint anything red or even pink. If you aren't using any type of heat to make your product, you can achieve a lavender. However, I still give it four stars because it is a great additive for soaps and other bath items.
4 out of 5 stars This will not dye your soap red/pink! 08/28/2013
Reviewer: Christina Hull from Greenville, TX US
I removed one star due to the fact this claims to dye soaps red/pink, and my soap came out the colour of a wet pumice stone. While this was not the colour I desired, I like the colour it came out to be even better than I expected!
