2. Review Natures Garden's Soap Dyes to find the colors that you desire.
3. You will need a Gallon Pump in order to get the bath gel out of the gallon bottle.
4. If you plan to fragrance and color an entire gallon of Ritzy Bath Gel one fragrance/color, then proceed as follows:  Add the permitted usage level of fragrance oil/ or less than the permitted usage level of fragrance to the bath gel.  Never use plastic measuring spoons when measuring fragrance oil; you will need to use stainless steel spoons. Add liquid soap dye to the bath gel in an amount that you desire.  Shake jug to mix the ingredients.  Pump the bath gel into PET or HDPE bottles
5.  If you plan to make several fragrances/colors, then proceed as follows:  Pump the amount of bath gel that you desire to fragrance/color into a gallon zip lock bag.  Add the permitted usage level of fragrance oil/ or less than the permitted usage level of fragrance to the bath gel.  Add liquid soap dye to the bath gel in an amount that you desire. Mix the contents in the tightly sealed bag.  Puncture a small hole in a corner of the bag and pour your finished bath gel into PET for HDPE bottles.

5. Since fragrance oils contain chemicals which may affect the viscosity of your finished product, we suggest testing small batches.  Some fragrance oils may thin the bath gel, while other fragrance oils may actually thicken the gel.   In the event that your finished bath gel becomes too thin after adding fragrance to it, you may want to add some table salt to the mixture and heat.  Adding table salt (starting with a very small amount, and working your way up) to fragranced surfactants usually helps to thicken the end product.  Each fragrance differs in chemical composition, so they will each affect the end product differently.

For easy dispensing, try one of our gallon pumps!

Essential Oils may be used in place of fragrance oils (Review IFRA sheet for any essential oil you want to use). In fact, peppermint essential oil will add a cooling effect to your bath gel, shampoo, bubble bath.

good stuff!

Reviewer: A viewer from Louisville, CO US 10/02/10

I like this base because it leaves my hair really clean, soft and smooth. It makes a great bubble bath and shower gel as well. My only complaint(if I have to have one) is that it thins out quite alot with some FO's, other than that it does make beautiful and effective shower gel.

thickness

Reviewer: A viewer from OH US 12/03/13

I did not add too much FO as the customer wanted a light scent. It is very very think. The more I whipped it around mixing, the thicker it got ? I am sure I could not get it to funnel if I had to lol My probelm is I would like to thin it out . Ideas ?

Just Fantastic

Reviewer: A viewer from CT US 03/05/10

Recently I started to make body wash for myself. I was tired of spending way too much money for the "Great" scented body washes. Well, now I can have any scent I choose and it is way cheaper than the $8-$12 you pay in the store for only 5-8 ounces. This way it only costs me $0.32 per ounce with shipping. Last month's Frangrance of the month was perfect for my favorite body wash, that a certain store no longer carries, I just used that fragrance and added 1/3 of an ounce to the 8 oz bottle, that I also purchased here, and now I have my favorite "Nature's Gardens' Scented Body Washes". I love this store!!!.

Advice please

Reviewer: A viewer from Bradford, MA US 09/04/12

I ordered a gallon of this Ritzy Gel. I made 2 shampoos, one with peppermint and one with green apple explosion fragrance oils. The peppermint one isn't very thick and the apple one is almost like water. Is there anything I can do to fix this or are these fragrances not recommended for this use?

Wonderful and soothing

Reviewer: A viewer from Tampa, FL US 01/20/07

I LOVE this bath/shower gel base. I am in the experimental stage of a bath product company and I gave out samples of this shower gel and everyone absolutely loved it! I myself have sensitive skin (especially on my legs) and most shower gels make my skin itch and burn. My skin feels soft and not at all itchy after using this gel. THANKS!

Tricky to work with at first, but worth the effort

Reviewer: A viewer from New Jersey 05/05/16

This bath gel is wonderful. I had some trouble with it at first trying to find the right ratio of gel to fragrance and actually wasted half of the bottle trying to get it to work for me, but I finally found the perfect ratio. I find that most, if not all, of the fragrances I have tried work best at a usage rate of 1%. At 1% the fragrance is strong enough to smell it without being overpowering and doesn't thin it out much. Anything over 1% had to be thickened up with liquid crothix for it to be usable. For those of you having trouble with this base, try your fragrances at 1% and see how you like it.

Best Base So Far

Reviewer: A viewer from Reynoldsburg, OH US 01/03/12

I have been looking for a body wash base to add fragrance and add to my lotion line. This is the best I have found. Although most fragrance oils thin the gel out, I dispenced the base into a foamer bottle (also purchased through NG) and that worked perfectly!

Not really what I wanted.

Reviewer: A viewer from Conroe, Texas US 05/06/14

I ordered this because a customer requested a bath gel. I have placed the Xanthum Gum in my cart (ready to order) to help to thicken it but what about the lather? I like for my body wash/gel to really lather. I've scented it with 3% Pink Sugar to make a batch of my own. Regardless of the consistency, I worry about the lather! Give me bubbles!

really slippery

Reviewer: A viewer from Dallas, TX US 12/10/13

I made this into a shower gel. I found this gel to leave the bath tub really slippery! It was more slippery than anything I've ever made (and I make bath bombs!).

My customers felt the same.
