Add liquid soap dye to the bath gel in an amount that you desire.  Shake jug to mix the ingredients.  Pump the bath gel into PET or HDPE bottles
5.  If you plan to make several fragrances/colors, then proceed as follows:  Pump the amount of bath gel that you desire to fragrance/color into a gallon zip lock bag.  Add the permitted usage level of fragrance oil/ or less than the permitted usage level of fragrance to the bath gel.  Add liquid soap dye to the bath gel in an amount that you desire. Mix the contents in the tightly sealed bag.  Puncture a small hole in a corner of the bag and pour your finished bath gel into PET for HDPE bottles.

Since fragrance oils contain chemicals which may affect the viscosity of your finished product, we suggest testing small batches.  Some fragrance oils may thin the bath gel, while other fragrance oils may actually thicken the gel.   In the event that your finished bath gel becomes too thin after adding fragrance to it, you may want to add some table salt to the mixture and heat.  Adding table salt (starting with a very small amount, and working your way up) to fragranced surfactants usually helps to thicken the end product.  Each fragrance differs in chemical composition, so they will each affect the end product differently.

For easy dispensing, try one of our gallon pumps!

Essential Oils may be used in place of fragrance oils (Review IFRA sheet for any essential oil you want to use). In fact, peppermint essential oil will add a cooling effect to your bath gel, shampoo, bubble bath.

Tricky to work with at first, but worth the effort

5 Ritzy Bath Gel

Reviewer: from New Jersey

This bath gel is wonderful. I had some trouble with it at first trying to find the right ratio of gel to fragrance and actually wasted half of the bottle trying to get it to work for me, but I finally found the perfect ratio. I find that most, if not all, of the fragrances I have tried work best at a usage rate of 1%. At 1% the fragrance is strong enough to smell it without being overpowering and doesn't thin it out much. Anything over 1% had to be thickened up with liquid crothix for it to be usable. For those of you having trouble with this base, try your fragrances at 1% and see how you like it.

Not really what I wanted.

I ordered this because a customer requested a bath gel. I have placed the Xanthum Gum in my cart (ready to order) to help to thicken it but what about the lather? I like for my body wash/gel to really lather. I've scented it with 3% Pink Sugar to make a batch of my own. Regardless of the consistency, I worry about the lather! Give me bubbles!

BEST People & Dog Shampoo ever!

5 Ritzy Bath Gel

Reviewer: from Medford, WI US

I have used many different kinds of EXPENSIVE salon shampoos over the years...Redken, Biolage, etc. Using this as shampoo works far better plus a lot cheaper than any expensive salon shampoo on the market!!! I have very long hair and suffer from itchy dry scalp every winter. I also have oily skin and my hair gets very oily where I need to wash it every day. Both my husband and I use this as shampoo straight out of the bottle with NO fragrance oil added. We both LOVE it and it leaves our hairy squeaky clean, shiny and NO more problems with dry itchy scalp. I now can go days in between hair washing. I also use this as a dog shampoo and it works GREAT...soft, bouncy, shiny coats with no more dry flaky skin. My two Pomeranians LOVE this shampoo!

really slippery

I made this into a shower gel. I found this gel to leave the bath tub really slippery! It was more slippery than anything I've ever made (and I make bath bombs!).

My customers felt the same.

Reviewer: from OH US

I did not add too much FO as the customer wanted a light scent. It is very very think. The more I whipped it around mixing, the thicker it got ? I am sure I could not get it to funnel if I had to lol My probelm is I would like to thin it out . Ideas ?

Nice out of the bottle, but most fragrances tend to thin it out quite a bit so you will definitely need some Xanthum to help thicken it up. Made liquid hand soap with this and most of them turned out great, even though some of them were too thin, it still works well.

Too thin

2 Ritzy Bath Gel

Reviewer: from Indianapolis, IN US

The gel is good consistency out of the jug, but adding most fragrances thin it out to water-like consistency. I've tried 7 fragrances so far, and only 2 are a usable consistency. The others are too thin no matter how much thickener I add. I hope to salvage some by using it for foaming hand soap. I do not plan on buying this product again.

Advice please

4 Ritzy Bath Gel

Reviewer: from Bradford, MA US

I ordered a gallon of this Ritzy Gel. I made 2 shampoos, one with peppermint and one with green apple explosion fragrance oils. The peppermint one isn't very thick and the apple one is almost like water. Is there anything I can do to fix this or are these fragrances not recommended for this use?

awesome base!

5 Ritzy Bath Gel

Reviewer: from North Olmsted, OH US

I was prepared to not be crazy about this base due to the sles BUT I have to admit it did not dry my skin or hair out and rinsed clean. Left my skin soft and hair soft and shiny. Didn't have any trouble with adding phytokeratins and panthenol and silk peptides along with fo. All in all I am amazed and very pleased with this base. It's a keeper!
