Since fragrance oils contain chemicals which may affect the viscosity of your finished product, we suggest testing small batches.  Some fragrance oils may thin the bath gel, while other fragrance oils may actually thicken the gel.   In the event that your finished bath gel becomes too thin after adding fragrance to it, you may want to add some table salt to the mixture and heat.  Adding table salt (starting with a very small amount, and working your way up) to fragranced surfactants usually helps to thicken the end product.  Each fragrance differs in chemical composition, so they will each affect the end product differently.

For easy dispensing,
try one of our gallon pumps!

Essential Oils may be used in place of fragrance oils (Review IFRA sheet for any essential oil you want to use). In fact, peppermint essential oil will add a cooling effect to your bath gel, shampoo, bubble bath.

5 out of 5 stars awesome base! 05/07/2012
Reviewer: Evelyn Cole from North Olmsted, OH US
I was prepared to not be crazy about this base due to the sles BUT I have to admit it did not dry my skin or hair out and rinsed clean. Left my skin soft and hair soft and shiny. Didn't have any trouble with adding phytokeratins and panthenol and silk peptides along with fo. All in all I am amazed and very pleased with this base. It's a keeper!
4 out of 5 stars Best Base So Far 01/03/2012
Reviewer: Apryll from Reynoldsburg, OH US
I have been looking for a body wash base to add fragrance and add to my lotion line. This is the best I have found. Although most fragrance oils thin the gel out, I dispenced the base into a foamer bottle (also purchased through NG) and that worked perfectly!
5 out of 5 stars Easy to Use! 10/22/2011

This leaves my skin feeling really soft and not tight and dry! Can't wait to make some more bath gel or even try making a shampoo with this!
5 out of 5 stars Best Bath Gel on the Market 02/11/2011
Reviewer: from New Jersey
I have tried SO many gel bases and this is the only one that I come back for. It takes fragrance beautifully. I never need crothix to thicken it no matter what scent I use. PLEASE KEEP THIS BASE!
4 out of 5 stars Love this base! 12/23/2010
Reviewer: Jennifer Snyder from Lehigh Valley, PA US
This base is wonderful! I bought a gallon and I can make about a dozen 8oz bottles of shower gel. Some of the fragrances I added did make the base a little watery, Butt Naked for example. While other fragrances I added worked great and smelled fantastic! This base works great as a shower gel or shampoo! Buy it, try it, you won't be disappointed!
