Clean & Sanitize your work area and all of your packaging materials. It is suggested that you wear gloves, protective clothing, and a hair net while preparing this recipe.
Weigh out Coconut 76 Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, cocoa butter, Shea butter, silky emulsifying wax, Jojoba Oil, and beeswax. Melt in a double boiler until everything is completely melted. Stir occasionally.
While you are waiting for everything to melt, weigh out your 8 grams of beet root powder and 15 grams of vegetable glycerin. In one of your mixing bowls, combine the beet root and vegetable glycerin, and using a fork, blend them until you get a liquid like paste. Set this aside.
Back to your melted oil mixture: Allow temperature of your melted mixture to reach 120F and add optiphen preservative (do not allow mixture to go above 120F or the temperature will ruin the bacteria-killing effect of optiphen), vitamin E oil, arrowroot powder, titanium dioxide, and Strawberry Shake fragrance oil. Stir.
Once this is blended, add granulated sugar. Fully incorporate. Let this set until the mixture reaches room temperature.
Divide your mixture into 2 separate bowls.
To the first bowl, add your beet root paste to the mixture. Stir.
To the second bowl, add 15 grams of vegetable glycerin.
Stirring occasionally, let each bowl set up again until you do not see any oil sitting on the top of the mixtures.
Layer your sugar scrub mixture into jars, varying the layers between the beet root layer and the titanium dioxide layer. Place lids on jars and you are finished.
