Ingredients & Equipment You'll Need:
Hand Held Mixer
Clean & Sanitize your work area and all of your
packaging materials. It is suggested that you wear gloves, protective clothing,
and a hair net while preparing this recipe.
Prepare the Dirt Layer:
Step 1: Using the double boiler method, melt 900 grams of Pillar of Bliss Wax to 195 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the melted wax reaches 195 degrees Fahrenheit, remove from heat.
Step 2: Add 25 drops of Spectrum Brown Candle Dye. Stir well to incorporate throughout melted wax. Place your thermometer back into melted wax.
Step 3: When the temperature drops to 180 degrees Fahrenheit, add 90 grams of Fresh Cut Grass Fragrance Oil. Stir.
Step 4: Next, place your square loaf mold on a flat surface where it will be undisturbed. Align 3 wick pins, equally spread apart, through the center of the mold opening.
Step 5: Carefully and slowly, pour the wax into the mold. You will want to stop pouring about 1" from the top of the mold. This will be for the grass. Allow this to set up at room temperature.
Prepare the Football:
Step 6: Once again, using the double boiler method, melt 95 grams of Pillar of Bliss Wax to 195 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the melted wax reaches 195 degrees Fahrenheit, remove from heat.
Step 7: Add 5 drops of Spectrum Brown Candle Dye and 1 drop Spectrum Red Candle Dye. Stir well to incorporate throughout melted wax. Place your thermometer back into melted wax.
Step 8: When the temperature drops to 180 degrees Fahrenheit, add 10 grams of Leather Jacket Fragrance Oil. Stir.
Step 9: Next, place your Silicone Football Mold on a flat surface. Carefully pour the wax into one cavity. Allow this to set up at room temperature.
Prepare the Grass
Step 10: For a final time, using the double boiler method, melt 500 grams of NG 100% Soy Wax to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the melted wax reaches 185 degrees Fahrenheit, remove from heat.
Step 11: Add 10 drops of Spectrum Green Candle Dye and 4 drops Spectrum Yellow Candle Dye. Stir well to incorporate throughout melted wax.
Step 12: Next, add 50 grams Fresh Cut Grass Fragrance Oil. Stir well to incorporate.
Step 13: Pour your wax into your mixing bowl and allow this to start setting up.
Prepare for Assembly:
Step 14: Once your football embed is fully set up, remove this from the mold and set aside.
Step 15: When the square loaf mold has set up, carefully take the football embed and center it to the center wick pin in the mold. Once centered, gently push down so that the football embed is pierced through with the wick pin. Remove the football. Then, using your last wick pin, finish piercing the hole through the football for the wick. Place the football back on top of the centered wick pin again.
Step 16: When your grass portion is thick and slushy, start to beat it with a hand held mixer. Sporadically using a spatula, scrap the wax from the walls of the bowl. Keep beating the wax is whipped and fluffy.
Step 17: Using your mixing spoon, start scooping the whipped wax on top of the dirt portion. When you get to the football embed, place the grass wax around this. Leave a small opening around the wick pins as well.
Step 18: Using your mixing spoon or spatula, peak the grass layer to appear like real grass.
Step 19: When your candle is ready to be removed from the mold, carefully do so.
Step 20: Once the candle is out of the mold, remove the wick pins. Using 3 of your CD12 wicks, thread one through each wick opening.
Step 21: If needed, use any extra whipped grass wax to fill in the open portions from the wick pins.
Step 22: When wax is completely set up, curl the wicks using a pencil.
Step 23: When you are ready clip your wick, and enjoy your football field candle loaf.
