Black Soot Issue 03/04/2013

Well I am torn at this point. This wax has great scent throw and doesnt fog like some soy waxes BUT it creates black soot!! I thought at first I may have just had a bad wick but I have now made several candles and black soot is now an on going issue. I did research and found some soy blends will create black soot.... I determined this is one of them. Im really bummed because other than the soot this wax is great! I am undecided if I will buy this wax blend again... :(

The first wax I used was something called Eco soy wax. It was easy to work with because its per-shredded. I like wow wax better so far. It had great scent throw and didn't get the foggies after burning like Eco soy. I use CD wicks and the only thing odd was I seemed to get black soot. I don't know if it was just a bad wick or if this wax has something to do with it. I guess I will find out on batch #2!

Loved WOW Wax! 01/06/2013

I loved WOW wax, but I did have to learn, after experimenting how to use it to get the fragrances to work best with it. I found the key was to melt the wax at a low temperature and really watch my thermometer when adding my color dye and fragrance. The first time I used it I followed the directions and used the temperatures they recommended, but then I found on line someone said to never add fragrances at temperatures over 110 degrees. When I did this I found the candles released the scent much better and the candles burned more of the wax. The key for me was patience, because it took a long time for the wax to melt at a low temp. Nature's Garden may not recommend this, but it worked for me. I am going to buy more than a slab of WOW wax on my next order.

I have ordered this wax in a couple of instances where I was short on time and couldn't make the drive to my regular vendor, however, I have found that the hot throw is always a let down. Some of my favorite fragrances that are amazing in my other wax are just kind of "blah" with Wow Wax. I love buying fragrance oils from Nature's Garden but I think I will stick to my usual vedor for wax.

This wax was so easy to work with especially with a newbie like me. The scent throw was not all that great but I was still able to make beautiful candles with it. No regrets.

This one worked okay for me, but the scent throw was not great. I prefer the Joy Wax.

I LOVE this wax!-----I have tried many in the 7 years I have been making candles and this one is a favorite. Excellent scent throw-no need for any additives! It is great all by itself. :)
