I only make wax tarts, but I use to make candles. Did not care for this in candle making, but for wax tarts, this is pretty good, I like it.

But I don't. (I'm sorry). I can't seem to get a decent scent throw, no matter what I do. I was using a different wax for tarts and will go back to that. I even had some clients ask me if I had changed something because my tarts weren't as good as all the ones they had gotten from me previously (even in the same scents) - uh-oh! The only difference is the wax. Like I said, I wanted to love it, but it just didn't work for me.

I love this wax in my tart melts. It works better than the regular soy.

I made some tarts yesterday...clean-up is so easy! This is a great price, too! I've been shopping around my town and the cheapest I've found this for is $5.29/lb! LOVE NG!

I thought I would try Golden Foods Soy Wax 464 for a change. I heated the wax to 185, poured at 110, but got nothing but holes on top. I then tried pouring at 135 and 170 and each candle came out lovely and smooth. Just make sure all glass jars are warmed before pour. I did find on each candle that after lit, when the wax hardened, they all had holes and pits. Not very attractive. Apart from that, the wax is lovely and creamy.

This is my first time making candles and I have to say that I am glad that I chose this wax over the others. It is very easy to clean up and looks great when colored and smells good whether the candle is lit or not. I love working with this stuff and I will definitely be buying more.

I really like the 464 wax. It's super easy to work with and has a nice scent throw. I use a 10% fragrance load with this, though it says you can exceed that if wanted. It does tend to frost on the top, but that is very typical of soy wax. I simply let my customers know up front, plus I make business sized cards that I attach on every candle that states the benefits of soy, and the fact that they will see some frosting. I also offer the joy wax which is a blended wax and doesn't frost, but so far all my customers prefer the 464 over the joy. Because the 464 is so popular and not messy like the Joy, I'm going to take the Joy wax out of my line and stick to the 464 for my container candles. I also like the scent throw much better than the joy.
