Pumpkin Eggnog FragrancePumpkin Eggnog Fragrance Oil Spotlight

It’s Autumn and that is the time for pumpkins to shine- and not just the jack-o-lanterns- pumpkin-flavored and -scented products are popping up everywhere this time of year. They seem to be falling out of the sky like the leaves off of trees. But what scent better embodies Fall than a combination of pumpkin and spices? Indulge yourself in everything Autumn with this decadent scent.

What Does Pumpkin Eggnog Fragrance Oil Smell Like?

A magical combination of creamy vanilla custard, fresh pumpkin and apple, hints of cinnamon and clove, with subtle base notes of cedar and musk.

How Do Our Customers Use Pumpkin Eggnog Fragrance Oil?

Candles! This fall fragrance performs perfectly in joy wax and wow wax and is nice and strong in soy wax. It is not gel wax compatible. The maximum recommended usage percentage for this spicy scent in vegetable waxes and paraffin wax is 10%. Our coloring suggestions for candles are to use 2 drops orange plus a tiny bit of brown liquid candle dye per 4 pounds of wax or a shred a small amount of orange and brown color block into your melted wax. Never color candles with crayons; it will clog the wick!

Room scents! This delicious scent comes across nice and strong in aroma beads and its maximum usage percentage in incense and potpourri is 50%.

Soaps! The maximum usage percentage for this alluring autumn aroma in bath oils, bath gels, and soaps is 5%. Our cold process soap testing found that this fragrance performed well in CP soap: no acceleration, no ricing, no separation, and strong scent retention. It did discolor to a brown color. This is likely due to the 4.66% vanillin content of the fragrance. Vanillin has a tendency to discolor bath and body products, the more vanillin, the darker brown the finished product. You’re welcome to try Vanilla White Color Stabilizer to combat discoloration; you are responsible for the results in your finished products. Our coloring suggestions are to use orange soap colorant in the amount that satisfies you. Maybe you could even split your batch in half- one half with color stabilizer and orange colorant and leave the other the unaltered beautiful brown. What a beautiful swirled soap that would make! Perfect fall colors. Never color bath and body products with candle dye; you’ll end up coloring yourself!

We’ve also got a wonderful recipe for a Pumpkin Eggnog Foaming Sugar Scrub. You’ll need Pumpkin Eggnog Fragrance Oil, Whipped Soap Base, Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, Orange Soap Colorant, some jars and lids, and, of course, sugar. If you follow our directions carefully, you’ll have a delicious-smelling scrub that looks like a big jar of pumpkin eggnog with whipped topping. As tempted as you may be- do not eat it! Use it to exfoliate your skin: wet your skin and then gently massage the mixture on the area you wish to target. No need for additional soap- this recipe has soap in it! Be sure to rinse your skin thoroughly afterwards and your skin will feel amazing!

Body products! This seasonal scent performed perfectly in perfumes and its maximum recommended usage percentage in body sprays and lotions is 5%.

This sugar cube recipe is not only super easy to make, but it also takes very little time, and absolutely smells delicious.  With the pampering elements of exfoliation, skin loving oils, and gentle cleansing foam, these sugar scrubs are the perfect little bath time treat for yourself.

In all, this recipe will give you about 5 sugar cube clamshells (a total of 30 bath tub cubes), so technically you can stock yourself up well or treat your family and loved ones to a spectacular bath scrub.

To make the sour watermelon sugar cube scrub recipe, here are the supplies you will need.  Many of the items can be purchased at Natures Garden.

As for the skin loving oils, you will need- Sweet Almond Oil, Argan Oil, and Avocado Oil.

For the gentle foaming cleanser, we will be using Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.

To exfoliate the skin we will also be using some Poppy Seed in addition to the sugar.

As for color and scent, these fun little sugar cubes are scented in playful  Sour Watermelon Candy Fragrance Oil, and colored with both FUN Soap Colorants-  Neon Red and  Tomato Red.  This combination will give your sugar cubes the perfect watermelon hue. Finally, one awesome concept that this recipe has is that we will actually be using Clamshell Containers to both achieve our sugar cube shape as well as package our scrubs.  Bonus! Now, there are some other supplies/utensils that you will need to make this recipe.  These items would include: gloves, scale, microwave safe bowl, mixing spoon, mixing bowl, and spatula.Once you have everything ready to go… lets get started!clamshells ready to fill

homemade sugar cube scrubSugar Cube Scrubs Recipe

In this blog, you will learn how to make your very own sugar cube scrubs.  And, to do this is really very easy; taking only a few simple ingredients.

You can cater your sugar cube scrubs with various skin loving oils.  For this recipe, we will be using Apricot Kernel Oil–  a luxurious, conditioning oil that absorbs very nicely into your skin.  Grapeseed Oil– a natural oil that is filled with antioxidants (great for anti-aging products) and an oil that is also moisturizing.  Then, finally Sesame Seed Oil– another conditioning oil with the benefits of both antioxidants and vitamins.  To view the complete list of oils that can be used and their benefits, please click on this link

Besides the sugar which works to exfoliate, the other solid in this recipe is soap.  Cocoa Butter melt and pour soap; the one that was used in this recipe, provides a very nice lather.  To see the full list of the variety of melt and pour soap that could be used, please click on this link.

Mold wise, the 24 brownie bites silicone mold was used to make 12 sugar cubes.  But, any mold, even an ice tray will work for this recipe.  However, please note:  using a different mold will vary your total number of sugar cubes output.

Now, here is the recipe, steps, and photos of how to make homemade sugar cube scrubs.

Supplies Needed
Scale
Microwaveable Safe Bowl
Spoon
Spatula
Mixing Bowl

Recipe

170 grams Sugar
28 grams Apricot Kernel Oil
21 grams Grapeseed Oil
7 grams Sesame Seed Oil
85 grams Cocoa Butter M&P Soap
10 grams NG Warm Vanilla Sugar Scent (or any body safe fragrance oil)
2 grams Vanilla Powder
10 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer (used to stabilize any discoloration that may occur in the sugar cubes.  This is due to the vanillin content of Warm Vanilla Sugar.)
1 drop of any FUN Soap Colorant (We used Yellow Oxide)

Step 1:  Have your mold ready in your work space.  Then, weigh out your sugar in a bowl.  Set this aside.

Step 7:  Allow this to harden.  Then, carefully pop the sugar cube scrubs out of the mold.  Place them into a jar until you are ready to use them.

To use:  In the bath or shower:  Grab one cube, slightly wet it.  Then, begin rubbing it all over your skin.  The soap will cleanse, the sugar will exfoliate, and the oils will moisturize and condition your skin.

Enjoy your homemade sugar cube scrubs!

fragrance oilsWhat’s your name & Your Company Name:  Layla Colegrove & Kathy Colegrove / Flowering Tree Botanicals

Why did you decide to go into business?  What was your motivation?  How long have you been in business?  My mother (Kathy) and I started our business in 2008 and originally only sold botanical supplies. We experimented with using those botanicals in bath products and the rest is history. This month marks our 5th year in business and going strong!

What products do you make and sell?  We still sell a wide variety of botanicals along with bar soap, whipped soap, our signature Bubble Crumbles™ bubble bath, bath crystals, body mist, sugar scrub, whipped soap, lip “quenchies”, tub truffles, bath bombs and more! We’re always adding new products to our lineup to keep things interesting.

What are your business goals?  Primarily, we’ll be focusing on expanding our presence in retail stores. We’ve got a few other things in the works but we have to keep those secret – for now!

What are some products you use from Natures Garden; what are your favorite products from Natures Garden?  The fragrance oils are fantastic and we especially love the lip balm base!
