Happy 4th of July from Natures Garden

Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013

usaHappy 4th of July from all of us at Natures Garden! Today is a day to be thankful for the freedoms we have, and to be reminded of how important it is to never take those freedoms for granted. The rights we have in the US are individual rights, not collective rights; thus protecting the individual from mob rule. Very courageous men and women have fought to keep those rights for us, and I am eternally grateful to our military for everything they do for this country. I am also grateful to all of the constitution-supporting elected officials who fight everyday to keep our freedoms alive and well.  Without personal freedoms, it would be very difficult to make the American Dream come true.

My personal life story, I have been told, is a story of the American Dream that came true.  I say this with all humbleness, and thoroughly understand that my American Dream story did not come true simply by my efforts or my business knowledge alone.  My American Dream came true by building a team of people who were committed to making Natures Garden a success, and due to the customers who have believed in us over the years.  Back in 1997 when we started Natures Garden, the only thing we had going for us was a “commitment to a dream”.  Working out of a very small basement, we had no money, very very limited space, and very little help.  I knew we needed to find help to make this dream come true, but how in the world would I get people to believe in this dream I had?  Let’s face it, the work environment was a far cry from something that looked like it had the potential of success.natures garden crew

I told myself that if my company would ever be taken seriously, I would have to treat my dream with respect, and get people to work with me who believed in that dream too.  I surrounded myself with people who believed in me and the company dream.  Being only 29 years old, fired up with ambition, I was some how able to sleep only a few hours a night without killing myself.  Everyday I would say to my team, “Failure is not an option”.

You see, nothing in life has come easy to me.  At one point in my life, living in a small trailer, I could not even afford fuel oil to stay warm in the middle of winter.  Even at the lowest point in my life, I never thought I had it rough.  I simply picked up extra shifts waitressing to make ends meet.  For some reason, God has always provided.  Things do not fall into my lap, and if there is such a thing as “luck”, I sure have none.  What I have is an obsessive work ethic, and an uncontrolled optimism that great things can and will happen when you remain committed to what you want to achieve. In America, if you dream it, you truly can achieve it.  It may not be easy (it sure wasn’t for me), but we do have a system that allows ambitious people to reach their dreams.

After 16 years in business, I look back and I am truly thankful for the Freedoms I have in America.  Without those rights, and without elected officials who fight to keep those rights, small businesses in America would not exist.  I am thankful to all of our customers who have believed in us over the years.  I am thankful for the amazing team I get to work with at Natures Garden.  These people truly care about our customers, and they care about their personal performance.  God bless all of you, and may God continue to Bless the USA!

How to Save Money with Reward Points

Monday, June 24th, 2013

fragrance oilsNatures Garden offers a great program for our customers.  By becoming a registered user, not only will you be saving time with each order that you place, but you could also be saving money!  With Natures Garden’s Loyalty Reward Points Program, you earn points with every completed order, product review, or refer a friend.  It is super easy to join, free of cost, and also allows you to bank your reward points until you choose to use them.  Hello, do I see a savings coming your way?

How do I qualify for the Loyalty Rewards Points Program?

A:  In order to start earning reward points, all you have to do is become a registered user.  Simply click on “Register & Start Earning Award Points”, fill out the information and that is it.  Plus, just for signing up, you receive 2 reward points to get you started.  Many people have concerns about sharing information with online companies.   We also understand your desire to keep personal information just that, personal.  However, our system can only track, assign, and apply point for users who are registered.  Rest assured, however, that we do not sell, rent, or distribute customer information to any third party.

How do the Reward Points accumulate?

A:  For every dollar that you spend while logged into your account on Natures Garden products, you earn one point.  The more products that you purchase, the more points you earn.  If an order is placed as a “guest” or through Paypal Express without logging into your Natures Garden account first, you will not earn any reward points for that purchase. Another way that you can earn reward points is by posting product reviews while logged into your Natures Garden account.  If you share your thoughts on Natures Garden products that you have purchased, you have the potential of earning 1 point per review.  We encourage the sharing of the pros and cons with other Natures Garden shoppers.  When your review gets posted, the point you’ve earned is banked.  Please note:  There are several things that will prohibit the posting of your review.  You can only review an item once.  You must submit your name, even if your review will be posted anonymously.  You must rate the item between 1-5 stars.  Including websites in your review is strictly prohibited and will result in the deletion of your review immediately.  As well, another way to earn rewards points is any time you refer a friend to Natures Garden, you will receive 2 points for each register user that places an order with us.

So, what do the reward points mean?

A:  For every 100 reward points that you accumulate, you may receive $1 off your next purchase with Natures Garden.  Reward Points will never expire, so you can bank them until you are ready to use them.  Some of our customers choose to use their reward points each time they place an order.  Some of our customers do not use their reward points until they have several dollars in savings.  It is all just personal choice.

How do I view my accumulated points?

A:  To view your current point balance, click on the “My Account” link at the top of the screen.  Log into your account.  Your point balance will appear on the first page.  Please note when you earn reward points on your purchases, these reward points will not show up in your account until you have paid for your order, and your order is shipped.  Once your order is shipped, your reward points will show up in your account, and can be used on any upcoming purchases with Natures Garden.

If I return an item, will points be deducted from my account?

A:  Yes.  The points earned for the purchase of an item are deducted if the product is returned.

How do I redeem points I’ve earned?

A:  Redeeming points is as easy as earning them.  Just shop as you normally would.  Make sure that you are logged into your Natures Garden account or if checking out by using Paypal Express, log into your Natures Garden account first.  During the checkout process, you’ll see an option to apply your points to the current order.  Check the box and the discount will appear on the emailed receipt that you receive.  Loyalty Reward Points can not be redeemed for cash.

I would like to apply my reward points to my order, but I forgot to click the box before I confirmed, is there any way I can apply them now?

A:  We are unable to apply point discounts to orders after they are submitted to Natures Garden for processing and shipment.

I Love Food!

One of Deborah’s (that’s me) favorite polyvores this week.  As some of you may know, I am on a diet once again.  I have lost a total of 12.5 pounds as of today!   Dieting (a word that I actually can’t stand) needs to be a life changing experience, not just something you do for a short period of time to lose weight.  Making the decision to become healthier should be your goal; although looking like a HOT MOMMA doesn’t sound bad either.  LOL!   That brings me to this polyvore I found.  When I saw this polyvore, I seriously drooled on my keyboard.  Tip for dieting success:  If you don’t bring high-sugar junk foods into your house, you will be more likely to succeed at losing weight.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the items used in this polyvore, you will find links to them below.   Natures Garden Fragrance Oils  are frequently used by designers on Polyvore to create their “sets”.  Come join us on Polyvore and design your own!

Soy Wax Melts using NG Fragrance Oils

Monday, June 10th, 2013

candle meltsMy name is Vanessa Paris and I’m the owner of “My Candle Box”.

Hi, my name is Vanessa and I’m responsible for “My Candle Box”. I’ve been open since May 2012 and I enjoy making candles, clamshells, and tarts. The waxes I use are soy and para-soy wax. Making wax goodies brings a smile to my face. Besides making wax goodies for family and friends, I also make them for myself as well. My little hobby has lead me to make a shop on Craft Cafe. I hope you get to experience my soy and para-soy goodies and enjoy them as much as I do.

I have displayed a picture of my Soy Drizzle Melts which includes the following fragrance oils from Natures Garden:  Apple Explosion: McIntosh and Green Apple Explosion (Pink), Sweet Orange Chili Pepper (Orange), and Blueberry Cobbler (Blue).

Soy Candles Never Smelled So Good

Monday, June 10th, 2013

soy candle makingHi! I’m Claire, of Simple Sun Candles.

One of my favorite things is the relaxing ambiance a few lit candles in the evening create. Also, the warm and welcoming scent of a candle burning really means ‘home’ and also ‘comfort’ to me. Simple Sun Candles was started with the intent of offering eco-friendly, natural soy candles in a range of fragrances, with a simple and classic design. As someone who delights in the warm, welcoming glow and fragrance of a candle, I was looking for something that would easily blend in to any décor but also featured pleasing scents. However, I could not find exactly what I wanted in stores. After reading quite a bit about candle-making, I decided to begin making my own. I quickly fell in love with the relaxing melting, pouring and cooling process (and not to mention, how amazing my home smells). The name, Simple Sun Candles stems from my desire to keep things simple in life, cutting back on clutter, stress, and being more cognizant of the environment, which is reflected in my use of 100% soy wax, no dyes, and phthalate-free fragrance oils of the highest quality (from Nature’s Garden, of course).

All of my candles are hand-poured with care, at the optimal temperature for the ideal scent throw (after lots of research, and trial-and error!). I selected cotton wicks for my candles for a clean burn, and offer single-, two- and three-wick candles. I enjoy experimenting with new fragrances and products, such as adding soy wax melts to my shop. I am interested in trying out palm wax and pillar molds soon, and possibly dyes and layered candles for holidays.

This hobby/small-business venture has really been a rewarding experience. Having only opened my on-line shop in October 2012, I have already been able to contribute to community fundraisers and love hearing feedback from happy customers. I look forward to many years of creating candles and experimenting with different designs, fragrances, and methods.

In the picture on this blog, I used Natures Garden’s Caribbean Fragrance Oil, Golden Foods 464 Soy Wax, and HTP-73 Wicks (all from Natures Garden).

Excellent Throw with Fragrance Oils

Monday, May 6th, 2013

Fragrance Oils1.  What’s your name & Your Company Name:      Mary McKnabb   /   Motherly Lights Candles

2.  Why did you decide to go into business?  What was your motivation?  How long have you been in business? I am a full time caregiver to my husband who had 4 brain injuries in a 6 month period of time. This happened in Sept, 2006. I was always looking for a candle that had a strong calming scent in order to help keep my husband calm without medication. But was disappointed in how it burned and the scent throw.  ( keep in mind these were grocery store candles)  In 2010 I started searching the internet on how to make candles. I came across Natures Gardens website and found everything I needed to make my own candles, even steps on how to make candles. Finally in 2012, having free time and extra money, I decided to start a candle business. It was something I could make a little extra income doing at home so I could still be with my husband.  My business started in Sept 2012.

3.  What products do you make and sell?  The products that I make are 13.5 oz and 6 oz container candles.  Tea Lights and tart melts. I have more ideas that I will be doing in the near future.

4.  What are your business goals? My business goal is just to produce a high quality candle that burns good and has an excellent scent throw to please my customers.

5.  What are some products you use from Natures Garden; what are your favorite products from Natures Garden?  Just about everything that I use comes from Natures Gardens. I use Joy wax, fragrance oils, wicks, coloring.  My favorite products is the fragrant oils.  Never new there were that many scents.  I also love the Joy Wax that I purchase from Natures Gardens.  With these 2 products I can make a high quality candle.
