How Do I Naturally Color Soap? How Do I Naturally Color Soap?

Many people are curious about how they can color their homemade soaps naturally. Of course, there are vibrant soap pigments and dyes, but what are my options for coloring soap? More importantly for all natural soap makers, How Do I Naturally Color Soap? Well, its simple, just use some cosmetic herbs. While not every herb is pigmented, there are many herbs out there that can be used to provide some wonderful colors. Plus, many herbs come with some added benefits for the body. So, Natures Garden has compiled a short natural soap colorants list that can be handy for the average soap maker.

How Do I Naturally Color Soap?: How Do You Add Herbs To Soap

Since herbs are a great way to naturally color your homemade soaps, you will want to know the ways that you can incorporate them into your recipes. Depending on the form that they come in, there are a few methods you may want to know. First, we have the easiest herb in incorporate, which is powdered herbs. The powder can simply be added to the recipe either before the CP soap reaches trace or before pouring your MP soap. Also, you can add the herb to vegetable glycerin to break up chunks before adding it, but this isn’t always necessary.

Next, we have the whole herbs, which include things like flower petals or cinnamon sticks. While there are instances where you want to add whole herbs to your soap, you don’t need this for coloring. So, these herbs can either be added in tea form or an oil infusion. For the tea all you need to do is steep your herbs in hot water to create a tea and use this as the water portion of your recipe. If you aren’t using water in your recipe, then you will want to do an oil infusion. So, you will need to create an herb oil by either allowing your herbs to soak in one of your oils for 4-6 weeks or add them to the pot as you oils melt. After, you will just need to strain out the herbs.

Soap Embed Ideas

Soap making is an art form that takes some creativity and skill. There are many different ways that you can create homemade soap. Not only are there many different processes, like melt and pour soap or cold process soap, that you can use to make soap, but there are different ways to create gorgeous designs in your bath and body products. We at Natures Garden love to come up with fun, new ideas for making fun, unique soaps homemade. One method that we enjoy for creating our homemade soap recipes is embed soap. Whether you are embedding herbs in your products or embedding differently colored soap in your soaps, this form of creating homemade soap is perfect for creating unique designs. So, here are some of our favorite soap embed ideas that we have used in our own soap recipes.

The Bamboo Hemp Soap Recipe is simple with an elegant design and will leave you feeling clean and fresh!

This soap has you create brown swirls and purple slices to decorate the fronts of your sliced soaps. It is a wonderful way to create more creative and interesting finished products within a typical soap loaf!

We combined the Peppermint Essential Oil, Eucalyptus Essential Oil, and Tea Tree Essential Oil in this recipe to provide both a great, natural scent and some beneficial properties. Together, these oils have a scent that is clean and strong enough to cover stinky feet! Plus, these three essential oils are perfect for providing your feet with the benefits it needs to be healthy and free of germs!

This feeling is wonderful for your foot balm recipe as it provides an enjoyable sensation for the skin. Plus, the oil has a nice, strong peppermint scent that is energizing and clean!

Additionally, we included the  Tea Tree Australian Essential Oil in this foot balm recipe. This natural oil has a strong scent that is fresh and stimulating. Furthermore, this essential oil is perfect for problematic areas of the skin, like the feet. This essential oil has a lot of beneficial properties that your feet will thank you for using, due to the natural antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antiviral properties. So, this essential oil is key for this balm to be able to treat issues like toenail fungus, athlete’s foot, or foot odor.

Plus, the strong, woodsy scent of Eucalyptus Globulus 80/82 Essential Oil is perfect in this recipe. This oil’s scent is complimented well by the addition of both peppermint oil and tea tree oil.  Further, this essential oil has some additional properties to benefit your feet. This oil will add some additional antibacterial and antiviral along with some anti-inflammatory properties. This added benefit will help with problems such as rashes or eczema.

Best Essential Oil Blends Lucky Leprechaun Face Mask RecipeBest Essential Oil Blends Lucky Leprechaun Face Mask Recipe

Also, we created a natural facial mask that is great for your skin! The fantastic creation we are talking about is the Lucky Leprechaun Face Mask Recipe! This recipe is perfect for exfoliating and moisturizing your skin to achieve a more refreshing feeling for your face. You will love the way all these ingredients work together to care for your skin. We included quite a few different herbs that each have their own benefits for the skin. For example, French Green Clay Powder provides great nourishment for the skin and will help remove skin impurities.

Additionally, we included both the sweet fennel oil and the lavender oil in this recipe. These essential oils blend together to create a unique scent that is wonderful! The lavender is a soft, floral aroma that is perfect with the unique aroma from the sweet fennel oil peaking through. This is definitely one that you will want to try out for yourself!

Best Essential Oil Blends Lucky Leprechaun Face Mask Recipe sweet fennel

We added the Sweet Fennel Essential Oil to this recipe for a few different reasons. First of all, this oil is wonderful for your skin! Sweet fennel oil has been known to have anti-aging properties. For example, it is said to slow down wrinkles by eliminating free radicals that will negatively impact your healthy cells and cause wrinkling. Plus, we have found that it would help tone and tighten your skin as well as reduce puffy eyes. Furthermore, this essential oil is known for combating acne and providing a deep pore cleaning! So, this essential oil has all the good stuff that you would want in a really good facial! Second, this oil has a unique aroma that is similar to licorice. This aroma is a perfect accent to the lavender essential oil and creates a perfect blend of scents!

Best Essential Oil Blends Lucky Leprechaun Face Mask Recipe lavender

Also, we used the Lavender 40/42 Essential Oil for its signature scent and the wonderful properties it provides! First, pure lavender oil is great for skin care. This oil is known to be good for preventing acne, as it would inhibit the bacteria that causes the infection. Also, this essential oil has been said to reduce wrinkles, eczema, and many inflammatory based skin conditions. Another reason why this oil was added to the facial was its scent. This natural oil has a lovely, true lavender scent that is sweet, floral, and herbal. This calming aroma is adored by many and is perfect for naturally scenting your facial!

Best Essential Oil Blends Patchouli Infused Hair Conditioner RecipeBest Essential Oil Blends Patchouli Infused Hair Conditioner Recipe

Next, we have the wonderful and all natural Patchouli Infused Hair Conditioner Recipe! This homemade hair care recipe is perfect for replenishing your hair’s much needed moisture. This nourishment is due to the blend of ingredients we added. These ingredients include a variety of butters and oils that perfect for your hair. Trust us, these oils and butters know how to care for your hair! Plus, homemade hair products won’t contain any of the harsh chemicals that are commonplace in commercial conditioners. So, it is a win all around!

Furthermore, this recipe uses a perfect blend of Lavandin Grosso and Patchouli Essential Oils. This both provides either hair care benefits or a lovely, natural aroma for your hair! While lavandin has some amazing properties for the skin, it was mostly included in this recipe for its amazing lavender scent. Further, we added patchouli mainly for its wonderful hair care qualities.

Best Essential Oil Blends Patchouli Infused Hair Conditioner Recipe PatchouliFirst, we added our Patchouli Essential Oil to this hair care recipe. This oil is often described as a strong, herbal and earthy scent. This aroma is often thought to be overpowering, but we add significantly less compared to our strong, lavender aroma. Thus, this scent works out to be very lovely. Plus, this oil is essential for its hair care properties! This oil is thought to reduce dandruff and oily hair. Further, we included patchouli oil to promote hair growth! It has been said that this oil promotes healthy hair and increases the rate of growth.

Best Essential Oil Blends Patchouli Infused Hair Conditioner Recipe lavadin

Also, we included the fresh, floral Lavandin Grosso Pure Essential Oil in this recipe! This essential oil is stronger than a true lavender essential oil, but they are very similar in scent. So, this aroma is a perfect compliment to the strong earthy patchouli oil. While this scent is similar to lavender, it doesn’t have all of the same properties! For example, this oil will not soothe burns as lavender does. However, this essential oil has the same type of aroma that has been known to be perfect for boosting mood, calming you, and reducing stress levels.

Best Essential Oil Blends Stinky Feet Foot Powder Recipe Best Essential Oil Blends Stinky Feet Foot Powder Recipe

Finally, we have the Stinky Feet Foot Powder Recipe! We created this recipe with the sole purpose of eliminating foot odor. So, basically, these ingredients each have properties that will benefit your feet! For example, the essential oils both have amazing properties that are intended to get rid of the source of your odor. Since foot odor is often caused by microbes living in your shoes or on your feet, these oils will be perfect! Plus, these two essential oils smell great together. They are a clean essential oil blend that will be a huge improvement on your previous foot odor. So, kick off your shoes with pride and shout to the world, “I LOVE MY FEET!”

Best Essential Oil Blends Stinky Feet Foot Powder Recipe LimeWe included the Lime Distilled Essential Oil as it is perfect for helping eliminate odor! Our lime essential oil has properties that not only cover the scent but help destroy the microbes that are causing your feet to stink! This oil is said to have antibacterial and disinfectant properties that will protect against microbes and kill bad bacteria. So, this will help to destroy your odor at the source! Plus, this essential oil has the added bonus of smelling fresh and amazing! This pure oil has a bright, citrus aroma that is true to the fruit.

Also, we used Best Essential Oil Blends Stinky Feet Foot Powder Recipe Tea TreeTea Tree Australian Essential Oil in this fantastic foot powder creation! After you add lime oil to eliminate microbes and bacteria you aren’t entirely ready to tackle foot odor. We still have fungus to worry about. Luckily, we have tea tree oil! This oil is known to eliminate fungus and help with athlete’s foot and toenail fungus! Plus, tea tree should be able to help to kill bacteria, as well. So, get ready to say goodbye to your foot odor! Additionally, this oil has a strong scent that is perfect for blending with citrus.  This blend is another NG favorite!

Black Licorice Fragrance OilBlack Licorice Fragrance Oil – Fragrance Oil Spotlight

Black Licorice Fragrance Oil from Nature’s Garden is a true-to-name licorice scent.  Unmistakable (and at Halloween time, seemingly unavoidable), the aroma of black licorice is a combination of sugar and the extract of the root of the liquorice plant.  This extract is sometimes substituted or combined with anise and fennel extracts.  In most of the world, the term licorice (or liquorice) refers to the liquorice root flavored black candy you see pictured.  In the United States, this is frequently distinguished from similarly-produced chewy candies by referring to it as “Black” Licorice.  Chances are, you know someone who loves, or hates, black licorice (there really doesn’t seem to be an in-between).  We are confident that you will love Black Licorice Fragrance Oil!

Country Clothesline Fragrance OilCountry Clothesline Fragrance Oil – Fragrance Oil Spotlight

Spring is upon us, finally we can hang our clothes out on the line and enjoy the sunshine.  Country Clothesline Fragrance Oil is the aroma of fresh air, clean linens and sunshine all wrapped up in a bottle.  For me this one takes me back to my childhood.  I remember my mother hanging the clothes out on the clothesline each day.  My favorite days were when she would wash the sheets.  Me, being a kid, I would run right through the sheets and let the scent of clean cotton hit my face.  Looking back, my mom never said a word, even when I ended up pulling the sheets off the line.  My mom had so much patience and just let me be a kid.  This fragrance oils triggers that memory of a carefree childhood and transports me to simpler times.  What memories does Country Clothesline Fragrance Oil bring back for you?
