This scent has been found to perform perfectly in joy wax and wow wax. Further, it is nice and strong in soy wax. We suggest three drops of yellow liquid candle dye for every four pounds of wax. Alternatively, shredding a small amount of a yellow color block into your melted wax can produce a desirable color as well. Note that you should never use crayons to color your candles as they will clog your wick.

Soap makers can use Caribbean Fragrance in either melt and pour soap or cold process soap a recommended 5% of the weight for total recipe. Our cold process soap results revealed this scent to perform well in cold process soap recipes. We found no acceleration, no ricing, and no separation for this fragrance. Also, this bar will discolor to a brown and have a strong scent retention. Since the vanillin content is 5%, using a vanilla white stabilizer will create a lighter bar. Although the vanillin content is high and contributes to discoloration, you may not be able to obtain an entirely white bar. This is because more than 40 ingredients used in fragrance manufacturing that may contribute to discoloration of products. We recommend using yellow soap colorant in the amount that satisfies you for your homemade bath and body products. Remember to never use candle dye in any bath and body products.

Various customers use our products to make homemade cleaners, lotions, perfumes, and room scents. Homemade room scenters can use this fragrance at a maximum of 50% in potpourri and incense. Further, Caribbean Fragrance Oil produces a nice and strong scent in aroma beads. The remainder of these creations can be scented with this scent at no more than 5%. What Does Chocolate and Amber Fragrance Oil Smell Like?

Top Notes:  bergamot, lemon, apple
Mid Notes:  heliotrope, jasmine, violet
Base Notes:  chocolate, amber, patchouli, vanilla, sandalwood

How Do Our Customers use Chocolate and Amber Fragrance Oil?

Handmade bath and body products can be created using this chocolate fragrance oil. Bath oils and bath gels can use up to 5% of this fragrance. Also, they have both been found to perform well for this scent. A variety of hand crafted soaps can include this tempting aroma as well. Our cold process soap testing results revealed that this fragrance will perform with no acceleration, no ricing, and no separation. The scent in a cured bar is very strong! A bar using this amber fragrance oil will discolor to a beige, which may be due in part to the vanillin content of 1.5%. This may be remedied by incorporating vanilla white stabilizer into your cp soap recipe. Although this will eliminate discoloration caused by the vanillin, there are more than forty ingredients used in fragrances by manufactures that may contribute to discoloration of products. If you wish to color your soap, then we recommend tinting your product with brown soap colorant in an amount that satisfies you. Remember that you should never use candle dye in any body products.

Lotions, perfumes, and all natural cleaners can all use Chocolate and Amber Fragrance Oil. Perfumes will perform perfectly at a 5% maximum. Also, lotions and cleaners can use no more than 5%. Lastly, gel wax is compatible with this fragrance oil, but it is still the customers responsibility to test their purchase.

Room scenters and candle crafters can both make use of this tasty scent. Room scents, some of which being reed diffusers, incense, and potpourri, can use up to 50% of chocolate aroma. Also, this scent will perform nice and strong in aroma beads. Homemade candle makers can use this fragrance to create aromatic products. Candles containing either vegetable waxes or paraffin wax can use up to 10% of this fragrance. It will perform perfectly in joy wax, soy wax, and wow wax. Additionally, it is gel wax compatible. We suggest that you use five drops of brown liquid candle dye per four pounds of wax. Another option for coloring would be to shred a small amount of brown color block into the melted candle wax. Be sure to never use crayons to color your candles as they will clog your wick.

Black Currant Original Fragrance OilBlack Currant Original Fragrance Oil – Fragrance Oil Spotlight

Natures Garden’s Black Currant Original Fragrance Oil is a blended, fruity floral scent.  First and foremost, we need to discuss the currant.  Basically, there are two distinct fruits that are called currants.  First we have the dried zante grape which is like a raisin and is primarily used for baked goods such as scones, currant buns, Christmas cake, Christmas pudding and mincemeat.  Second, we have a fresh, tiny berry that is a distant relative to the gooseberry.  The berries are high in vitamin C and antioxidants and are either black, red, or white.  The black currants are more tart.  They have a variety of uses which include preserves, syrups and liqueurs as they are often marketed as “champagne grapes“, but despite the name, they are not used for making champagne.  While the red and white are best for eating right out of your hand as they are very small and sweet, with quite an intense flavor of a grape.  The currant is very popular fruit in the UK, but is starting to gain fans here in North America.

What Does Black Currant Original Fragrance Oil Smell Like?

A Natures Garden original fragrance, smells like a rich, fruity blend of juicy wild berries and ripe currant highlighted by sparkling citrus and wrapped in a blend of floral infused vanilla.

Top – Red Raspberry, Strawberry, Black Currant
Mid – Mandarin Orange, Peach Nectar, Concord Grape
Bottom – Jasmine Petals, Parma Violet, Vanilla Bean

Vanillin content of this fragrance (this percentage includes all forms of vanillin) is .60%.  Vanilla White Color stabilizer may help prevent discoloration due to vanilla.  However, there are more than 40 ingredients used in fragrance manufacturing that may contribute to discoloration of products.  Cold process soap testing results shows no acceleration, no ricing, and no separation.  The scent is very strong.  Nice!  For other homemade bath and body products, this fragrance oil performs well.

For those of us who like to make homemade candles, Black Currant Original Fragrance Oil performs perfectly in joy wax, wow wax, and is nice and strong in soy wax.  The maximum usage is 10%.  Coloring suggestions for this bold, fruity scent is to use 6 drops of purple liquid candle dye and 2 drops of black liquid candle dye per 4 pounds of wax or shred  purple and black color block into your melted wax.  Never use crayons to color your candles as they will clog your wick.

Ever wonder what the color we choose for our projects means or represents?  Purple is positively pleasurable, but is also has meaning.  The color purple is often associated with nobility, royalty, power, and ambition.  But it could also represent mystery, extravagance, dignity, wisdom and is often thought of as magical.

Katie’s Favorite Scents

Katie's Favorite ScentsKatie’s Favorite Scents: Katie Smells

Today I visited our store on the southwest corner of Whitehead and Route 18. We have over 800 fragrance oils at our fragrance bar, and I smelled every one. Every. Single. One. All for you, dear reader. So I could tell you about my top ten favorite scents – Katie’s Favorite Scents. (I’m Katie; hi!)

BACONBacon

I bet you can figure this one out. We have a fragrance oil that smells like sweet, savory baconIt doesn’t smell like REAL bacon, I’ve heard people say, but it comes pretty darn close. The only way it could smell more like “real” bacon is if it were an actual bottle of bacon grease. But who’s using bacon grease to make soap or candles when you can use bacon grease for BACON?! Man, I really want some bacon. If you want soap or candles that smell like bacon- this is your best bet.

Berry Bewitching BrewBerry Bewitching Brew

Fun to say, even more fun to smell. Berry Bewitching Brew is full of fruity fragrances that are not overpowering- a hint of woodsy musk serves to balance the scent. Fruits in this fragrance include peach, apricots, and blackberries. This scent makes me think of a secluded house near the woods with the windows open. Perfect to use in homemade soap or candles if you have such a house. Or if you don’t, you can let it transport you to a place of peace. Almost like magic.

Iced PineappleIced Pineapple

Speaking of clean, fruity smells, how about some pineapple? All the smell of fresh pineapple without having to do all the work of cutting an actual pineapple. It may seem a little tropical or summery, but this scent smells great year round – like a vacation for your nose! This is another one of those mouth-watering scents that you’ll just want to bite into–but please don’t. If you feel so compelled, go out and by fresh pineapple, or canned pineapple.

Pumpkin Apple ButterPumpkin Apple Butter

Let’s face it, unfortunately, summer is over for soap-makers and it’s time to start making soap that will cure by the Fall. Fret not, readers – I have found yet another delicious scent, but this one embodies autumn: Pumpkin Apple Butter. Do you like making baked goods with pumpkin? How about apple? How about butter? How about the smell of those delicious treats together?? No need to stick your head in the oven, this scent smells just like Grandma’s kitchen during dessert on Thanksgiving.

NG Baby Graceful TypeNG Baby Graceful Type

As a former professional sitter, lemme tell you, babies do not always smell great. In fact, they rarely do, if ever. NG Baby Graceful Type smells like the babies that dreams are made of. It’s fresh and clean with a hint of fruit and sweetness. And look at how cute that baby is in the photo. She’s a butterfly princess! What a sweetie. This fragrance will make you forget that real babies are loud and smelly, and instead invoke thoughts of cherubs who help you with housework. Can you imagine if real babies did that?

Smoke EliminatorSmoke Eliminator

Okay, so this one doesn’t have the most flowery or imaginative name, but it smells great. Smoke Eliminator fragrance oil is loaded with lemon and lime to give you a fresh fruit scent. Like a refreshing lemon-lime soda. Even if you don’t need to eliminate the smell of smoke, a fragrance this strong could help clean air against other odors as well (wet dog? smelly cat? stinky babies?).  I’d call this another mouth-watering scent, but the cigarette in the picture is kind of ruining it for me. Don’t eat cigarettes.

SpearmintSpearmint

Alright, reader. I’m going to level with you. I chose most of these scents because they hold a position near and dear to my heart. I love spearmint. Once upon a time, a certain company used to make bite-sized mint candies, and I would eat at least a pack a day. I cannot get enough mint. Spearmint helps stimulate brain function, circulation, and can even work to provide relief from digestive and menstruation issues. Plus, it smells nice and clean. Cooling, relaxing.

RootbeerRootbeer

Speaking of sweet treats that I once was obsessed with- ROOTBEER! This fragrance oil smells just like the real thing. Or- like the bacon fragrance oil- as close as possible to the real thing without actually being the real thing. Mmm. A nice, vanilla-y scent, this smell takes me back to when I consumed any and all things rootbeer-related. My younger sister was mistakenly under the impression that rootbeer was alcoholic and thought I indeed had a serious problem. (If you’re looking for the smell of actual beer – we have that, too.)

NG Vanilla Lace and PearlsNG Vanilla Lace and Pearls

We have got plenty of vanilla-scented fragrance oils, but NG Vanilla Lace and Pearls is by far my personal favorite. As a child, I had a body spray that smelled very similar to this scent. I had one bottle and I saved it for only the most special occasions. This was the scent of the woman I wanted to be: a princess. Look at that picture – sweet and delicate yet refined and beautiful. Warm vanilla with a hint of sweet flower and musk. We also have a Princess Type fragrance oil, but I personally prefer lace and pearls.

Moonlight PomegranateMoonlight Pomegranate

Okay, so Moonlight Pomegranate reminds me of the body spray I preferred as a teen. More sexy, more mysterious, accentuated by the moonlight. Wildly inappropriate in context, but as far as the person you aspire to smell like, not bad at all. This scent is fruity yet spicy and even a little woodsy. Like eating a pomegranate in a moonlit clearing in the forest. Don’t believe me? Go try it during the next full moon. Wear a silky, dark red dress. Sweet, sexy, mysterious.

Katie Smells and So Can You!

Remember – this list is nowhere near exhaustive! These were just my top ten favorites, and I honestly had a very difficult time picking only ten. Stop on by our store and smell for yourself. We have over 800 scents – you’re bound to find one that you absolutely love. I challenge you to write your own top ten; it’s a lot harder than you’d think. Thanks for reading!
