Yogurt Soap Recipes: Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap BaseYogurt Soap Recipes: Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap Base

Let’s talk about the type of soap we will be using! If your are new to the world of soaping follow this link to the page on our website that will give you the full rundown how to use all of our melt and pour soap bases. The following recipes will be using our Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap Base. If you are new to the soapmaking world, melt and pour is an awesome way to get started. This soap will let you, the soap maker, focus on the aesthetic that will make your soap your own!  It allows you to familiarize yourself with techniques of handmade soapmaking using colorants, fragrances, and soap molds. This soap base is very versatile! It can be melted and remelted without losing any of its quality! This can be very helpful if you are trying to create a fancy soap that has multiple steps!

Yogurt Soap Recipes: Soap Frosting

Let’s set the scene! There is a plain loaf of soap sitting on your table looking kind of sad. It’s plain looking on top! It needs something! How about a fluffy mound of “whipped cream”? An easy and quick way to do this is our Soap Frosting made with whipped soap base and yogurt melt and pour soap! This versatile recipe can be scented with your fragrance oil of choice or even colored with a FUN soap colorant. Since it’s frosting though, we chose Buttercream Fragrance Oil. A yummy blend of buttercream and vanilla! Now your soaps have a beautiful topping that looks like you could dip your finger in and take a lick!

Yogurt Soap Recipes: Rainbow Zebra Print Soap RecipeYogurt Soap Recipes: Rainbow Zebra Print Soap Recipe

Our first recipe is a fun creation for those that like to get creative! We used yogurt melt and pour soap and some FUN soap colorants in Teal, Yelp Yellow, Neon Pink and Neon Blue! To create the fun Rainbow Zebra Print Soap Recipe you will all you do is a simple trick of tilting your mold from one side to the other and allowing the layer you have poured to set up almost completely. You will definitely get a soap pattern that has a look of intricate layering. Only you will know the trick! We scented this soap with our best selling scent,  Amazingly Grace fragrance oil! This soap is scented with a light citrus tone sweetened with rose, violet, jasmine.

So, what do you think?  Are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes? Actually they are black with white stripes! Their stripes are camouflage from predators. Zebras are hard to distinguish if they are in large groups. The stripes act as a natural sunscreen to protect their skin from the African heat and sun.

Yogurt Soap Recipes: Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap RecipeYogurt Soap Recipes: Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe

This next recipe is a wonderfully feminine creation! Our Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap uses a combination of Yogurt melt and pour, plus our whipped soap base to help give the soap a fluffy, white topping! You are going to create 4 differently colored soap bases. Each soap base will have a beneficial clay added to it. The clays we chose to use are Rose Clay, French Green Clay, Kaolin and a personal favorite of mine: Vanilla Powder which is the yummiest smelling powder! These natural cosmetic clays will help exfoliate and nourish the skin along with removing impurities from your skin pores. The fragrance oil was our fragrance of the month in February, Moonlight Tuberose! This fragrance oil is a delicate blend of rose and greenery. Sprinkle some whole Jasmine flowers on top to give your soap an extra lovely touch!

Did you know? The tuberose is a night blooming flower native to Mexico. Louis XIV of France loved the tuberose. He had hundreds of them planted in the gardens at Versailles. The scent was overpowering! Gardeners grew the tuberoses in clay pots where they were planted directly into the ground. To keep the perfume-y air consistent, new plants were placed in among old plants on a daily basis.

Yogurt Soap Recipes: Leprechaun Hat Soap RecipeYogurt Soap Recipes: Leprechaun Hat Soap Recipe

Here’s an adorable soap to enhance your spring time or St. Patrick’s Day line of soaps! This recipe uses our Diamond Clear and Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap Bases, 3 FUN Soap colorants and a little ingenuity! Our Leprechaun Hat Soap Recipe will be a wonder to look at and people will be impressed by your talents! The fragrance we chose is our Apple Happy Camper fragrance oil. This oil smells just like a green apple Jolly Rancher. Bright, tart and sweet!

Did you know? Leprechauns were thought to be dressed in red and not green? Poets and writers stated in their musings that the rascally leprechauns where seen wearing a variation of “red dress”.

Yogurt Soap Recipes: Banana Pudding Soap RecipeYogurt Soap Recipes: Banana Pudding Soap Recipe

Here is an ingenious soap that looks like you could eat it! Banana Pudding Soap is completely made using Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap base.  Our graphic artist, Afshan created this recipe.  She created the banana slices and vanilla wafers using molds from Flexiblemolds.com. These molds are wonderful to work with and can be used multiple times. She scented this fun and unique soap with our Old Fashioned Banana Pudding fragrance oil. It smells of true banana pudding! Vanilla wafers, bananas and meringue topping! The whipped topping for this particular recipe did not use the Soap Frosting recipe. We chose to whip up some imagine base with the yogurt soap base with a touch of vegetable glycerin to give the batter some flexibility.

Did you know? Banana Pudding is actually a dessert that developed in the south, around the early 1900s?

Yogurt Soap Recipes: Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcake Soap RecipeYogurt Soap Recipes: Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcake Soap Recipe

Who is in the mood for a Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcake? Well, probably everybody! How about if it’s made out of soap? Yes! Definitely! Not into making dessert soaps? Please feel free to make the real thing! You will want one after you get a whiff of this soap! Using Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap for the cupcake and the “cream cheese” topping is just part of the creation. We used our yummy Chocolate Cream Cheese Cupcake fragrance oil that smells of chocolate cake, vanilla, buttercream and coconut! We even grated a small bit of unscented soap base to help give it that “coconut” touch!

Did you know? Around 1873, William A. Lawrence, a Chester, New York dairyman, was the first to mass-produce cream cheese. In 1872, he purchased a Neufchâtel (neufchatel is actually a french cheese that is soft, slightly crumbly mold-ripened cheese) factory and shortly thereafter, by adding cream to the process, was able to create a richer cheese that he called “cream cheese”.

Yogurt Soap Recipes: Fun Swirl Soap RecipeYogurt Soap Recipes: Fun Swirl Soap Recipe

Our next recipe is a fun way to get creative and it’s easy to do! Fun Swirl Soap loaf is made entirely of yogurt melt and pour soap. What makes this soap fun is after you have made your soap curls, you can make big soap curls or small soap curls. You can add as many soap curls to your soap as you like! Our fragrance oil of choice for this recipe is Flower Child; a very earthy scent of patchouli and sandalwood! This soap would make a good companion to our Hippies & Hemp Cold Process soap!

Did you know? The term “flower child originated in San Francisco in the summer of 1967. “Flower Child” originated as a synonym for “hippie”. It was the custom of “flower children” to wear and distribute flowers or floral-themed decorations to symbolize ideas of universal belonging, peace, and love.

Yogurt Soap Recipes: Perfectly Pampered Shaving SoapYogurt Soap Recipes: Perfectly Pampered Shaving Soap

Shaving cream is expensive! What if you made your own shaving soap? Our Perfectly Pampered Shaving Soap is very easy to do when you use our yogurt melt and pour soap! With this recipe, you can make 3 heart shape bars in no time! This recipe incorporates rose clay powder; a gentle exfoliate that will help reduce skin irritation and sloughs away dead skin cells. Our fragrance of choice was our Cannabis Rose Type fragrance oil.

Did you know? The oldest written record of cannabis usage is the Greek historian Herodotus’s reference to the central Eurasian Scythians taking cannabis steam baths. They would take the plants, throw them onto hot stones, where it would immediately smoke!

Yogurt Soap Recipes: Layered Melt and Pour Soap RecipeYogurt Soap Recipes: Layered Melt and Pour Soap Recipe

We chose our Honeysuckle fragrance oil that scents the air with a blend of honeysuckle, jasmine, rose and lilac! A very fresh, summery smell! Rainbow MP Soap RecipeRainbow MP Soap Recipe

Sometimes our inspirations come from the simplest things.  Well, over the past few weeks I have been testing, creating videos, and packaging cold process soaps using Natures Garden’s FUN Soap Colorants.  Once they were packaged and labeled, I took them to Shannon to display in the store.  We carry 21 of these colorants and I tested each soap colorant using five different amounts.  So, this meant that we had over 100 soaps to display.  Shannon decided to display them on a round, tiered display in our store, see the display here.  When I saw how she displayed them, I was immediately inspired to create a variety of rainbow themed recipes that will go on the bottom tier of her display.  So, below, you will find my Rainbow MP Soap Recipe, the second of several recipes we will be creating inspired by this display.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Preparing Your SoapRainbow MP Soap Recipe: Preparing Your Soap

First, I prepared all of my soap.  This means weighing out and cutting up all of the soap for each of the seven layers.  You will need your scale, mixing bowls, and clear melt and pour soap.  Now, in each of your seven mixing bowls, weigh out and cut up 130 grams of Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Purple Soap Layer

Now, you will need one of your bowls of clear melt and pour soap.  You will also need the deep purple FUN Soap Colorant, fragrance oil, and Vanilla White.  Finally, you will need your 4 loaf mold, and your bottle of rubbing alcohol.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Purple Soap LayerSo, place your mixing bowl in the microwave for about 30 seconds.  If you notice that the soap has not completely melted, you may need about 10 more seconds.  This will all just depend on your microwave.  Once your soap has melted, add 4 drops of the purple soap colorant.  Then, add 6 grams of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil and 6 grams of the Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Use a mixing spoon to blend the ingredients.  Finally, pour your melted purple soap into the loaf mold.  Spray the melted soap with rubbing alcohol to release the air bubbles.  Allow the purple soap to setup completely before moving on.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Blue Soap Layer

Next, we will be preparing a blue layer of soap.  So, you will, once again, need one of your bowls of weighed out soap, your fragrance oil, and Vanilla White.  In addition, you will need the ultramarine blue soap colorant and your soap mold.  At this time, also get your Angel Wings fragrance oil and Vanilla White Color Stabilizer ready.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Blue Soap LayerSo, place your next bowl of melt and pour soap in the microwave.  Heat the soap for about 30 seconds, or until it is melted.  Once your soap has melted, add 3 drops of the ultramarine blue FUN Soap Colorant.  Also, add 6 grams of Vanilla White and 6 grams of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil.  Mix the soap base to incorporate the ingredients.  Now, spray your previous purple layer with rubbing alcohol and pour the blue melted soap right on top of the purple soap.  Lastly, spray the blue layer with rubbing alcohol and let this layer setup.  Rubbing alcohol will not only help layers of soap adhere to each other, it also helps release air bubbles.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Dark Green Soap Layer

Next, we will prepare our Kelly green soap.  So, once again, you will need one of your bowls of soap.  This time, you will need the Kelly green FUN Soap Colorant.  Also, your fragrance oil, color stabilizer, rubbing alcohol, and soap mold should be in front of you.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Dark Green Soap LayerAgain, melt your soap using the microwave.  Then, add 3 drops of Kelly green FUN Soap Colorant.  Also, add 6 grams of Natures Garden’s Angel Wings Fragrance Oil and 6 grams of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Using a mixing spoon, stir to blend the ingredients together.  Lastly, spray your blue soap with rubbing alcohol and pour your green soap on top.  Once again, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol and allow it to setup.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Lime Green Soap Layer

This time we will be preparing the lime green layer.  So, once again, you will need a bowl of clear soap that you weighed out earlier.  You will also need the Angel Wings scent and color stabilizer.  You will also need your silicone soap mold and bottle of rubbing alcohol.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Lime Green Soap LayerNow, melt your soap base using your microwave.  Once you have melted your soap, you will need to add color and scent.  So, add 3 drops of lime green soap colorant.  In addition, add 6 grams of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil and 6 grams of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Slowly, stir melted soap with your spoon to completely mix the ingredients together.  Next, spray your Kelly green soap with rubbing alcohol so that the lime green layer will adhere to the lime green layer.  Finally, pour the lime green soap directly on top of the Kelly green soap.  Once again, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles that have formed.  Once you spray your soap, allow it to harden completely before moving on.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Orange Soap Layer

Now, we will prepare our orange layer of soap.  For this layer, we will use Natures Garden’s Eye Poke Orange FUN Soap Colorant.  So, you will need this colorant along with another bowl of soap base you weighed out earlier.  In addition, you will need your Angel Wings Fragrance Oil and Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Also, place your mold in front of you and you rubbing alcohol close.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Orange Soap LayerNext, melt the soap base in your microwave.  Now that your soap is melted, add 4 drops of Eye Poke Orange Soap Colorant.  Then, add 6 grams of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil and Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Stir to incorporate the ingredients.  Finally, spray your lime green soap with rubbing alcohol and pour the orange soap right on top.  Spray your orange soap with rubbing alcohol to release air bubbles that have formed.  Allow your orange soap to setup.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Jailhouse Red Soap Layer

Next, we will be preparing a layer using Natures Garden’s Jailhouse Red soap color.  So, you will need the Jailhouse Red FUN Soap Colorant.  Additionally, you will need another bowl of soap, the scent, and stabilizer.  Finally, you will need your bottle of rubbing alcohol and soap in the mold.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Jailhouse Red Soap LayerSo, place your bowl in your microwave and melt your soap base.  Then, melt the soap.  Once your soap is melted, add 3 drops of the red soap colorant.  Also, add 6 grams of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil along with 6 grams of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Now, mix to blend the ingredients completely.  At this time spray your orange layer with rubbing alcohol.  Finally, pour your red layer right on top of the orange layer and spray, once again, with rubbing alcohol.  Allow your soap to setup before moving to your next layer.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Tomato Red Soap Layer

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Tomato Red Soap LayerOur final layer will be colored with Natures Garden’s Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant.  Now, melt your last bowl of mp soap base in your microwave.  Then, add 6 grams of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Also, add 6 grams of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil.  Finally, add 4 drops of Tomato Red Soap Colorant.  Mix to incorporate the ingredients completely together.  Finally, spray your previous layer with rubbing alcohol and pour your tomato red soap on top.  Spray the tomato red soap with rubbing alcohol.  Allow this final layer to setup before moving on.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Rainbows

Now, we will prepare the rainbows that will top our soap.  This will be done using melt and pour soap and vegetable glycerin.  We will pour the soap into the remaining 2 cavities of the loaf soap mold and allow it to setup.  Later, we will slice it into smaller pieces and use the smaller pieces to create our rainbows.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Red LayerRainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Red Layer

So, first, melt 30 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Then, add 3 grams of Vegetable Glycerin, 1 gram of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil, 1 gram of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and 1 drop of Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant.  Stir to blend the ingredients.  Now, in two of the cavities of the silicone 4 loaf mold, pour the melted soap.  You want to pour half the soap in one cavity, and half in the other.  Allow it to setup before moving to the next color.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Orange LayerRainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Orange Layer

Next, once again, melt 30 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Then, add 3 grams of Vegetable Glycerin, 1 gram of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil, 1 gram of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and 1 drop of Eye Poke Orange FUN Soap Colorant.  Mix everything together slowly and thoroughly until everything is combined.  Spray the red soap with rubbing alcohol.  Then, pour the orange soap right on top, in the same manner you did before.  Allow the soap to setup before you prepare the next color.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Green LayerRainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Green Layer

At this time, we will begin preparing the lime green layer.  Melt 30 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Now, add 3 grams of Vegetable Glycerin, 1 gram of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil, 1 gram of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and 1 drop of Lime Green FUN Soap Colorant.  Finally, stir to incorporate the ingredients.  Spray the orange soap with rubbing alcohol.  Then, pour the green soap right on top of the orange soap, pouring half in each cavity.  Allow the soap to setup before you prepare the next color.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Blue LayerRainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Blue Layer

Again, melt 30 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  We will begin preparing the blue layer.  Once your soap is melted, beginning adding 3 grams of Vegetable Glycerin, 1 gram of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil, 1 gram of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and 1 drop of Ultramarine Blue FUN Soap Colorant.  Finally, stir to incorporate the ingredients. Spray the green soap with rubbing alcohol.  Then, pour a blue layer of soap right on top of the green soap in both cavities.  After spraying the soap with rubbing alcohol, allow it to setup before you prepare the next color.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Purple LayerRainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare The Purple Layer

Finally, we will begin preparing the purple layer.  We will melt one more layer of soap.  So, melt 30 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Now, add 3 grams of Vegetable Glycerin, 1 gram of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil, 1 gram of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and 1 drop of Deep Purple FUN Soap Colorant.  Finally, stir to incorporate the ingredients. Spray the blue soap with rubbing alcohol.  Then, pour the purple soap right on top of the blue soap.  Again, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol.  Allow the soap to setup before you move on.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Cutting the RainbowsRainbow MP Soap Recipe: Cutting the Rainbows

Lastly, once the soap has setup, remove it from the mold.  Then, slice it into strips.  You want them to be about 3/4 inch wide and about 5 3/4 inches.  So, you want to be sure you are slicing them long ways.  Finally, do the same with the soap in the cavity of the mold.  You will notice that due to the addition of vegetable glycerin, the soap is nice and flexible.  This will allow us to bend them into a rainbow shape and later place them on top of our whipped soap.  Go ahead and shape each rainbow so that you have them ready for the top of the soap.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Whipped Soap Base

Now, we will begin preparing our whipped soap base.  The whipped soap base is meant to look like clouds in this recipe.  It will also anchor our rainbows to our soap loaf.  So, in a deep mixing bowl, weigh out 200 grams of the whipped soap base.  Next, add 20 grams of vegetable glycerin, 20 grams of Angel Wings Fragrance Oil, and 20 grams of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Then, use a hand mixer to fluff the soap to a fluffy cloud-like consistency.  Set this aside for a moment, we will come back to it.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Whipped Soap Base

In a separate mixing bowl, weigh out 200 grams of Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base.  Melt the soap base using your microwave.  Once the soap is melted, pour it into the bowl containing the whipped soap.  Finally, mix the soap once again with your hand mixer.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Topping the Soap

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Topping the Soap
At this time, we will begin topping our soap loaf.  Place the whipped soap on top of each loaf, covering the entire loaf.  You will use half of the whipped soap on each loaf.  So, when you are finished it will look like clouds on top of your soap.

Rainbow MP Soap Recipe: Topping the Soap

Then, place the rainbows on top of the loaves.  We used about 4 rainbows on each loaf.

Once your soap has finished setting up, slice your soap using your mitre box and mitre box cutter.  Then, you can use your rainbow melt and pour soap right away.

St Patricks Day Soap RecipeSt Patricks Day Soap Recipe

March 17th is right around the corner.  So, Natures Garden created this St Patricks Day soap recipe for this occasion. For one day everything will turn green in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. From foods to rivers to people, a green sea will take over our streets for the day. The history of St. Patrick’s Day might surprise some though.  St Patrick Day didn’t begin as a day to eat, drink, and party. In 1631, the Catholic Church named the day an official Feast Day for St. Patrick.  St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland. It was a day of religious observation.  Read more about Saint Patrick and his life here.

6 grams Diamond Dust Mica
130 grams Vegetable Glycerin
20 grams Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Weigh Prepare Your Shimmering Green Colorant for the Silicone Mold

Before we begin, we will prepare our shimmering green soap colorant.  In a small bowl, weigh out 6 grams of Diamond Dust Mica Pigment.  Then, add about 40 grams of vegetable glycerin.  Mix everything together until it is smooth and clump free.

Next, in the same bowl, add 15 grams of Natures Garden’s Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant.  Again, mix to incorporate all of the ingredients.  Continue to mix until everything is mixed evenly.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Weigh Out the Soap for the Silicone Mold

First, weigh out the portion of the soap that will be added to the silicone muffin mold.  You will need to begin by cutting and weighing out 500 grams of Natures Garden Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Then, you will melt the soap base using a microwave oven.  You want to melt your soap in 30-second intervals, until the soap base is in a liquid state.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Adding the Apple Happy Camper Fragrance Oil

Now, we will be adding the Apple Happy Camper Fragrance Oil.  So, to the bowl containing the melted soap, add 50 grams of the Apple Happy Camper Fragrance Oil.  Then, mix until the apple fragrance oil is completely mixed.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Adding the Shimmering Green Colorant

Finally, we will be adding our green soap colorant.  So, while your soap is still fluid, add the green colorant you prepared.  Then, once again, mix to incorporate the colorant.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Pouring the Soap into the Mold

Now, pour your melted soap into the molds.  You will need to pour it into the silicone muffin mold.  You will need to create a total of 6 bases.  So, pour the melted soap into 6 cavities and allow them to setup.  Remove them from the mold.  Set them aside for now, we will come back to them.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Prepare Green Colorant for the Cake Pan

Before preparing the remaining soap, we will prepare our green colorant for the soap that will be added to the cake pan.  So, in a small bowl, add 6 grams of the diamond dust mica.  Then, add about 40 grams of the vegetable glycerin.  Mix well to create a smooth paste like consistency.  Then, add about 20 grams of the neon green colorant.  Again, mix to incorporate the colorant.  Set this colorant aside for a bit, we will come back to it.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Prepare the Soap for the Cake Pan

Next, we will prepare the soap for the cake pan.  We will pour this portion of the soap in a pan, then, later cut the soap into circles.  So, weigh out 900 grams of Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Then, melt the soap in the microwave.  Again, melt the soap in 30-second interval.

Once the clear soap base is melted, pour about 3/4 of the soap into the pan.  Spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles.  Allow your soap to setup.  Set the remaining soap aside, we will come back to it.

Now, we will be adding the remaining soap to the cake pan.  So, go ahead and remelt the remaining green soap.  Use caution, you do not want the soap to get too hot.  You really need it to simply be in a fluid state.  It is extremely important that it is not too hot, we do not want it to melt the previous layer.  So, once your soap is remelted, spray the soap in the pan with rubbing alcohol.  Then, pour the melted soap directly on top of the soap in the pan that has already setup.  Once again, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol and quickly move to the next step.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Add the Tops of the Hats

Now, we will add the tops of the hats.  We will add these to the pan containing the soap that we just poured.  While your final layer of soap is still fluid, place the six muffin bases into the pan.  You want the largest part of the muffin to set into the soap in the pan.  Place all six in the pan.  Space them evenly throughout the pan.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Cutting Out the Hats

Now, we will begin cutting out the hats.  First, slowly and carefully, remove the soap from the pan. You will notice that you have a solid sheet with the tops of hats sticking out.  I would like to note, you will have some excess soap once you cut your hats out.  You can simply remelt the extra soap and pour it into a mold of your choosing.

Then, use a knife or wooden skewer to cut a circle, creating the brim around each hat.  You will want your circle to be approximately 4 inches in diameter.  You will want to do this with all six of your hats.  Then, remove your soaps from the sheet.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Creating the Black Bands

Next, we will be creating the black bands for each hat.  We will create a total of six bands.  They will need to be about 1/4″ wide and about 8 inches in length.  So, begin by weighing out the soap.  In a small mixing bowl, weigh out 70 grams of Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Then, melt the soap in the microwave.  Again, melt the soap in 30-second intervals until the soap is in a liquid state.  Then, add three drops of the black oxide FUN Soap Colorant.  Mix to incorporate the colorant.  Finally, add 3 grams of the Apple Happy Camper Fragrance Oil and 3 grams of vegetable glycerin.  Stir, once again, to incorporate the fragrance oil before pouring it into the silicone 4 loaf mold.  However, keep about 15 grams of soap in your bowl, you will remelt it later and use it as a “glue” to adhere your bands to your hats.

Allow the soap to setup before removing it from the mold.  Once you have removed the soap from the mold, slice the soap into 1/4″ strips.  Place the soap in front of you vertically.  Then, slice them vertically as well.  You want the strips to be about 8″ long.  You can then trim off the extra later when you are adding them to the hat.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Add the Black Bands to Your Hat

Now, you will wrap the soap around the hat, using the leftover black soap to help adhere the bands.  First, spray the green hat with rubbing alcohol.  Then, wrap a black band around each hat.  If necessary, trim any excess black soap.  You will want to hold the bands in place for about 30 seconds each to give them time to adhere to the hats.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Create the Gold Buckles

Lastly, we will create the gold buckles.  First, you will need to weigh out 20 grams of Natures Garden’s Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap Base.  Then, melt it in the microwave.  Next, add 10 drops of the neon yellow soap colorant.  Stir to incorporate the colorant.  Then, add 1 gram of the Apple Happy Candy Fragrance Oil.  Again, mix the ingredients together.  Finally, pour the soap into one cavity of the basic square mold.  You will only be creating a thin layer of yellow soap. Leave a few grams of yellow soap in your bowl for later, we will use it to help adhere the buckles to our hats. Once you have poured your yellow soap into the mold, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol.  Then, allow it setup.

Remove the soap from the mold.  Slice the soap into six small squares.  You want all six squares to be about the same size.  Now, each square will need a square hole in the middle.  I used the pointed end of a wooden skewer to create the holes.  You want to make you square look like a buckle.

St Patricks Day Soap Recipe: Add the Gold Buckles to Your Hats

Once you have prepared your buckles, adhere them to your hats.  You want to place them right on top of the black bans.  You will use the same method to place the buckles as you did when placing the bands.  I placed mine in the area where the two ends of the black bands met.  This allowed me to hide that line.  Once you have adhered your buckles, your soap is ready to use!

Our next soap project is a swirled melt and pour soap project.  While cold process soap is often swirled, melt and pour soap can be a little harder to get the same type of swirl.  However, with the addition of clays and powders, it can be done.  Our Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe was inspired uses Natures Garden’s Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil.  We were since the fragrance oil itself contains notes of both jasmine and vanilla, we were inclined to incorporate whole jasmine flowers as well as vanilla powder.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: A Closer Look at Some of the Ingredients

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil

Before we begin, let’s take a look at the fragrance oil that we will be using.  This soapmaking project uses, what else, Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil.  February 2018’s fragrance of the month. Tuberose essential oil is extremely expensive, and is used in the most exquisite fine fragrances.  We have done our very best to create a fragrance oil with the same aroma as this expensive essential oil; while adding complimentary notes to make this fragrance well-balanced.  Natures Garden’s moonlight tuberose fragrance begins with top notes of white pear and green apple;  followed by middle notes of tuberose, jasmine, lily of the valley, and ginger;  sitting on base notes of violet, ylang ylang, peach, vanilla, and fresh woods.  An NG Original fragrance!

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: French Green Powder

Next, let’s look at our first clay in this recipe.  French green clay powder is the most frequently used clay by health professionals and spas to treat skin conditions, to nourish the skin, and to remove impurities.  Green clay is light green in color when dry, but turns dark green when wetting agents are added.  French green clay is very nutritious for the skin. Due to the nutrients in French Green Clay, it is used in many cosmetics, soap, and skincare recipes.  French Green Clay powder can be added to both cold process soap and melt and pour soap recipes for increased cleansing ability and natural exfoliation.  French green clay will produce a natural green color in soap recipes.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Rose Clay Powder

We also used rose clay powder in this soap making recipe.  Rose clay, often referred to as pink clay, is a gentle, natural clay that contains kaolinite.  Rose clay is fabulous for most skin types; including sensitive skin.  Rose clay provides gentle exfoliation, helps to draw toxins from the skin, helps to increase circulation, reduces skin irritation, and helps to reduce inflammation.  Rose clay is typically used as an ingredient in cosmetics, soap, facial masks, and mud baths; providing skin-loving minerals, but also naturally coloring your finished products.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Kaolin White Clay Powder

Our final clay is the kaolin white clay powder.  Kaolin Clay, also called China Clay, is a white clay that is perfect for sensitive skin types.  Kaolin clay is commonly used to make mineral makeup such as foundation, eye shadow, and blush.  Natures Garden’s white clay can be used in formulations as a thickener, and added to bath bombs to harden them.   Like most clays, kaolin clay helps cleanse the skin; removing toxins.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Prepare Your ColorantsMoonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Colorants

First, we will prepare our colorants.  We will use two shades of green, a dark red, and a white soap for this recipe.  You will need to have a total of four disposable cups. You will also need to have your clays, vanilla powder, vegetable glycerin, and colorants out.  Once you have mixed all of the powders and colorants together, you can set each one aside, for now.  We will use them in a later step.

Colorant Amounts for the Light Green SoapColorant Amounts for the Light Green Soap:

10 grams Kaolin Clay Powder
20 grams Vegetable Glycerin
2 grams Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant
20 drops Lime Green FUN Soap Colorant

So, first, we will prepare the colorant for the light green soap.  In your first disposable cup, weigh out 10 grams of kaolin clay powder.  Then, add 20 grams of vegetable glycerin.  This will create a paste which will disperse better in your melted soap.  Next, add 2 grams of Natures Garden’s neon green FUN Soap Colorant along with 20 drops of the lime green soap dye to the cup containing the clay mixture.  Then, stir to mix the colorant completely with the clay mixture.

Colorant Amounts for the Red Soap PortionColorant Amounts for the Red Soap Portion:

10 grams of Rose Clay Powder
10 grams of Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant
6 grams Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant
22 grams of Vegetable Glycerin

Next, we will prepare the colorant for the red portion of soap.  You will need your second disposable cup.  Weigh out 10 grams of your rose clay powder.  Then, add 22 grams of vegetable glycerin.  Again, by creating a paste the colorant will disperse better in your melted soap.  Once your clay mixture is clump free, add 10 grams of Natures Garden’s neon pink FUN Soap Colorant.  In addition, add 6 grams of the tomato soap dye to the cup containing the clay mixture.  Then, stir to mix the colorant completely with the clay mixture.

Colorant Amounts for the Dark Green Soap Portion:

12 grams of French Green Clay Powder
21 grams of Vegetable Glycerin
7 grams Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant

Now, we will prepare the colorant for the dark green soap.  In your third disposable cup, weigh out 12 grams of green clay powder.  Then, add 21 grams of vegetable glycerin.  This will create a paste which will disperse better in your melted soap.  Finally, add 7 grams of Natures Garden’s neon green FUN Soap Colorant to the cup containing the clay mixture.  Then, stir to mix the colorant completely with the clay mixture.

Colorant Amounts for the White Soap PortionColorant Amounts for the White Soap Portion:

9 grams of Vanilla Powder
13 grams of Vegetable Glycerin

Lastly, we will prepare the vanilla powder for the white soap.  In your last disposable cup, weigh out 9 grams of vanilla powder.  Then, add 13 grams of vegetable glycerin.  This will create a paste which will disperse better in your melted soap.  Finally, stir to mix the vanilla powder and vegetable glycerin together.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Prepare the Soap

Now, we will begin preparing the soap that will be used in the soap loaf.  This soap will later be divided and added to our cups containing the colorants we created.  You will need your fragrance oil and your yogurt melt and pour soap base.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Prepare the SoapMoonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe Total Recipe Weights

1408 grams Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap
70 grams Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil

First, you will need a total of 1408 grams of Natures Garden’s yogurt mp soap base.  To start, cut the soap into small cubes.  Then, use a microwave to melt the soap.  You want to melt the soap in 30-second intervals until it is melted completely.  Stir between each 30-second burst.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Separate the SoapMoonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Separate the Soap

At this time, you will need to separate the soap.  You will need the four cups containing the colorants that you prepared earlier.  To each of your cups, add 452 grams of the melted soap.  Stir the contents of each of your cups to fully blend the colorant with the melted yogurt soap.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Pouring the Soap Into the MoldMoonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Pouring the Soap Into the Mold

A melt and pour swirling technique makes pouring the soap into the mold a little bit different.  You will need to of the cups of soap and your square loaf mold.  It does not matter which colors you choose.  Now, place one cup in your left hand and the other in your right hand.  Pour the contents of each cup into the mold at the same time.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Prepare the Whipped Soap Frosting

Now, we will prepare the whipped soap frosting.  The whipped soap base will be used to top our soap loaf.  It will have a fluffy consistency.  We will use a hand mixer to fluff the soap base.  So, you will need your hand mixer.  We will also be adding vegetable glycerin along with yogurt melt and pour soap.  By adding melt and pour soap, the soap frosting will setup, making packaging your soap easier. Your frosting will harden instead of remaining soft and sticking to your packaging.

Whipped Soap Total Recipe Weights:

250 grams Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap Base
250 grams Whipped Soap Base
25 grams Vegetable Glycerin
25 grams Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil
5 grams Vanilla Powder

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Whipping the Soap Base

First, weigh out 250 grams of the Natures Garden’s whipped soap base.  To the same bowl, add 25 grams of Moonlight Tuberose Fragrance Oil and 25 grams of your vegetable glycerin.  Then, use your hand mixer to fluff the whipped base to a fluffy frosting consistency.  Once you have fluffed your soap base, set this bowl aside, we will come back to it.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Prepare the Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap

Next, you will need an empty mixing bowl.  In this bowl, weigh out 250 grams of the yogurt melt and pour soap base.  Then, use a microwave oven to melt the mp soap.  You will want to melt your soap base in 30-second increments until the soap is completely melted an in a liquid state.  You will want to stir the soap base in between each 30- second burst.  Once the soap has melted, remove it from the microwave.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Mixing the Whipped Soap With the Yogurt Soap

Before we begin mixing the whipped soap base with the yogurt soap, I want to mention, you will need to move quickly as your soap frosting will setup very quickly.  So, add the melted yogurt soap base to the bowl containing the whipped soap.  Once again, you will need your hand mixer.  Finally, use your hand mixer to fluff the soap to that same frosting consistency.

Moonlight Tuberose Swirled Soap Recipe: Topping Your Soap Loaf

Finally, we will begin topping our soap loaf.  Add the whipped soap frosting to the top of your loaf.  You will want to top your soap in the same manner you would frost a cake.  Once you have added you soap frosting, we will add a few finishing touches.  Add a couple grams of the jasmine flowers.  Lastly, dust your soap with a tiny bit of the diamond dust mica pigment.  You will not need much of the diamond dust mica pigment, less than a gram will do.  Once your soap has completely setup, use your mitre box and cutter to slice the soap loaf just like you would cut a loaf of bread.

Once your soap is created, show us your finished soap!  We would love to see homemade mp soap!  Post pictures of your Moonlight Tuberose scented swirled soap or other creations on our Facebook page!  In addition, you can find Natures Garden on both our Twitter and Instagram pages @ngscents.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub RecipeChocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe

Today we will be showing you how to make a chocolate bath butter scrub recipe.  This recipe was inspired by a cookies and cream parfait recipe that we found from Homemade Hooplah.  They looked so delicious, I just had to turn them into some sort of bath and body product.  This way, I could have chocolate indulgence with none of the calories.  So. I decided to make a chocolate bath butter scrub using Natures Garden’s Better Than Sex Cake Fragrance Oil.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe:  A Closer Look at Some of the Ingredients We Will Be Using

Before we begin, we will take a closer look at some of the ingredients we will be using today.  Our chocolate soap recipe is a fluffy whipped soap scented with our Better Than Sex Cake Fragrance Oil. Below, is an in depth look at the key ingredients in this soap recipe.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe: Better Than Sex Cake Fragrance OilChocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Better Than Sex Cake Fragrance Oil

The first ingredient we will talk about is the scent.  Better Than Sex Cake fragrance oil by Natures Garden smells like German chocolate cake that is blended with semi-sweet chocolate chips and laced with crunchy toffee bits to create this decadent treat.  Vanilla creme and butterscotch syrup create a luscious undertone, while hints of almond and coconut complete the yummy blend.  An NG Original Fragrance!

Top Notes:  almond, coconut
Mid Notes:  toffee, chocolate
Base Notes:  butterscotch, vanilla, chocolate cake

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Whipped Soap BaseChocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Whipped Soap Base

In this recipe, the whipped soap base is used to create the creamy layers of our bath butter.  This soap base can be used to create your own bath frosting, shaving soap, foaming body butter, and foaming sugar scrubs.  Simply whip our base with a mixer, add scent and colorant, and spoon into jars.  Our rich, luxurious-feeling whipped soap base leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized.  This whipped soap base is bright white in color and does not substantially deflate after packaging.

When using fragrances in the whipped soap base, we suggest using 1-5% of a body safe fragrance oil in your finished product.  Additional carrier oils can be added to this base, but we do not suggest adding any more than 5%.  When making foaming sugar scrub, please note that some of your sugar will dissolve in the base.  Fragrance oils can and may discolor your finished product.  When using fragrance oils with a vanillin content higher than 1%, you may want to consider using vanilla white stabilizer to reduce discoloration.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Organic Cocoa PowderChocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Organic Cocoa Powder

Now, let’s talk about the natural colorant we used.  Cocoa powder is a wonderful brown colorant for soap, lotion, and other cosmetics.  In fact, I personally use it in my natural makeup recipes.  Organic cocoa powder is a fabulous addition to your cosmetics and soap recipes.  Cacao beans are rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, E and pantothenic acid.  They are also rich in the following minerals:  magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese and potassium.  Cocao beans contain caffeine, which is actually beneficial to the skin.  How does chocolate lip balm sound to you?  Chocolate facial masks?  Yummy!

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Vegetable GlycerinChocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Vegetable Glycerin

We used the vegetable glycerin in the recipe to help mix our cocoa powder into our soap base without clumping.  We often use it when using natural powdered colorants to recipes for this reason.  However, vegetable glycerin is also used in other types of recipes.  For example, it can be added to melt and pour soap.  When added to melt and pour soap, it will give the soap some flexibility.

Vegetable glycerin is a clear, odorless, sweet-tasting liquid with a thick syrup-like consistency.  It is used in formulations of cosmetics, soaps, shampoo, herbal remedies, toothpaste, lotions, and other household items.  Vegetable glycerin is soluble in both alcohol and water; however insoluble in oil.  Vegetable glycerin is a humectant, which draws moisture to the skin.  It is added to lotions during the water phase in improve the emollience of the product.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: FUN Soap ColorantsChocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: FUN Soap Colorants

This soap recipe uses Natures Garden’s FUN Soap Colorants.  In fact, we use two of them.  We use both the brown oxide and the black oxide to color our Epsom salt.  These soap colorants are easy to use and stay true to color even when added to a product.  These vibrant soap colors are my personal favorite to work with when making soap!

So, what exactly are the FUN Soap Colorants?  They are pigments which are dispersed in vegetable glycerin. They come in oxides, aquamarines, and even some neon colors, just to name a few.  No chemical preservatives added.  All of our FUN Soap Colorants are considered to be VEGAN. Using liquid soap pigments which have already been dispersed in vegetable glycerin helps to prevent pigments from clumping in your soap.  All of these soap colorants work well in melt and pour soap, and cold process soap.  They are non-bleeding, perform well in high ph environments, and do not morph during the saponifcation process.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Epsom SaltChocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Epsom Salt

Epsom salt can be used in many different products and industries. It can be used for hair care, medicinal purposes, skin care, cosmetics, bath and body products, gardening and cleaning products. It is used as a bath salt to help relieve stress and help to soothe sore muscles.

Many skin care benefits that are associated with the usage of Epsom salt. It is great for exfoliating the skin, smoothing out rough patches, and for preventing wrinkles. It also treats sun burn and helps to get rid of acne. Also, by rubbing it on your skin after taking a shower, it helps to make your skin smooth and silky and also takes away dead skin cells.

Feet ailments can be treated using Epsom salt as well. Soaking your feet in hot water mixed with Epsom salt helps to take away foot odor and foot fungus. It can also help to relieve the problems caused by athlete’s foot and also treats gout.

Epsom salt has many anti-inflammatory properties. Athletes can use it in ice baths after work outs to help with inflammation problems.Facial pores can be treated with Epsom salt as well. It has many exfoliating properties which work hard to give the pores a nice deep clean.

For hair care, adding Epsom salt to conditioners gives the hair extra volume. It also helps to remove excess oils from the hair. You can also make a mixture of water, Epsom salt and lemon juice that when used on the hair before showering, it will help to make hairspray easier to remove.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Vanilla White Color StabilizerChocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe Ingredients: Vanilla White Color Stabilizer

We used Vanilla White Color Stabilizer in this recipe to prevent our white layer from turning brown.  Vanilla White basically helps to lessen any discoloration that is cause by a vanilla content.  Since the Better Than Sex Cake Fragrance Oil has a vanillin content of 6%, it would certainly discolor our white whipped soap base.

Natures Garden’s Vanilla White Color Stabilizer is a patent pending fragrance technology designed to be added to aqueous bases that have color stability problems resulting from vanillin and other aromatic ingredients which tend to oxidize and cause browning.  For the first time, water based formulas can be stabilized by including a small amount of Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Phthalate-Free.

So, what products can Vanilla White be used in?  Vanilla White Color Stabilizer can be used such products as liquid soap bases, bar soap bases, glycerin soap bases, cold process soap, hot process soap, shampoos, conditioners, fabric softeners, detergents, air fresheners, and lotions; essentially any product that is not anhydrous.

Will begin by preparing the brown chocolate portion of our bath butter.  This portion will be colored using Natures Garden’s organic cocoa powder.  In addition, we will scent the whipped soap with Better Than Sex Cake Fragrance Oil.  So, in a deep mixing bowl, add 353 grams of the whipped soap base.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe: Prepare the Chocolate Whipped SoapNow, we will prepare our natural brown colorant.  So, in a small bowl, weigh out 6 grams of the organic cocoa powder.  Then, to the same bowl, add 34 grams of vegetable glycerin.  Mix to completely blend the two ingredients.  By mixing our cocoa powder with vegetable glycerin before adding it to the whipped soap base, it will prevent it from clumping.

Next, we will prepare the Epsom salt.  The Epsom salt will be the center layer in your bath butter.  It will be colored a black brown color.  It is meant to mimic the Oreo cookies in the dessert that inspired this creation.  In a clean bowl, weigh out 170 grams of Epsom salt.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe: Prepare the Epsom Salt

Now we will begin coloring the Epsom salt.  So, you will need both Natures Garden’s brown oxide and black oxide.  Then, add 4 grams of the black oxide FUN Soap Colorant and 2 grams of the brown oxide FUN Soap Colorant.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe: Prepare the Epsom SaltFinally, you will want to wear a pair of gloves.  Then, using your hands, mix the colorants into the Epsom salt.  You want to make sure that the salt is completely colored and you can see no white.  Now, you can set the bowl aside for a moment.

Finally, we will begin packaging the bath butter.  We will be adding a couple of chocolate layers, a couple white layers, and layer of Epsom salt.  So, you will need to have all three bowls in front of you.  You will also want a spoon for each bowl.  In addition, you will need four of the 8 ounce clear jars.  First, we will begin with our chocolate layer.  Add a couple spoonfuls of the chocolate whipped soap to each of your 8 ounce clear jars.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe: Packaging the Bath Butter
Now, add a layer of the white whipped soap to each jar.  This layer should be about half as thick as the previous chocolate layer.  You want to add it directly on top of the chocolate layer.  However, you want to be careful not to get any of the base on the sides of the jar.  If you do, you will be able to see it in the next layer.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe: Packaging the Bath Butter

Our next layer will be the Epsom salt layer.  This layer will contain about 40 grams per jar.  When you initially add this layer it will look like it is too much.  However, once you add the remaining layers on top, it will go down a bit.  So, add about 40 grams of salt to each jar.

Chocolate Bath Butter Scrub Recipe: Packaging the Bath Butter
Now, simply finish layering your whipped soap.  On top of the Epsom salt, add another layer of white.  Then, a layer of chocolate.  Finally, a dollop of white on top.  Ultimately, you can layer your whipped soap in whatever manner your would like.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Your Fragrance Oil and ColorNext, you will be adding your fragrance oil and color.  So, with your clear soap in a liquid state, add 7 grams Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Fragrance Oil, 7 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, 2 drops Ultramarine Violet FUN Soap Colorant, 2 drops Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant, and 3 drops Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant.  Finally, mix to incorporate the fragrance oil and FUN Soap Colorants.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Pouring Your Soap Into the MoldChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Pouring Your Soap Into the Mold

Once you have colored and scented your soap, you will be pouring your soap into the mold.  For this soap recipe, we used a mold from flexiblemolds.com.  It is their Raspberries/Blackberries Soap & Candle Mold.  So, pour your melted soap into the cavities of this mold.  Then, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles.  Lastly, allow them to setup before removing them from the molds.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Brown SoapChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Brown Soap

In this next step, you will prepare your brown soap.  This soap will later be coated with whipped soap base and rolled, in the same manner, you would roll a jelly roll or cake roll.  You will need a pan lined with either a silicone baking mat, parchment paper, or wax paper.  Lining your pan prior to pouring the soap will make it much easier to remove from the pan once it sets up.  Since we are using fragrance oil, you will want to use a pan that is specifically for soap making.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Total Recipe Amounts for the Brown Soap

800 grams Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap
40 grams Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Fragrance Oil
40 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer
5 grams Organic Cocoa Powder
59 grams Vegetable Glycerin

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Brown Melt and Pour SoapChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Brown Melt and Pour Soap

Your first step is to prepare your brown melt and pour soap.  We will once again be using Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  So, weigh out 800 grams of the clear mp soap base.  You want to melt the soap for 30 seconds at a time until it is melted.  You want to be careful not to overheat the soap base.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Brown Soap ColorantChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Brown Soap Colorant

Now, you will want to prepare your brown soap colorant.  This can be done while you are waiting for your soap to melt.  You will need a very small bowl, vegetable glycerin and Natures Garden’s organic cocoa powder.  In your bowl, weigh out 5 grams of cocoa powder.  Then, add 19 grams of vegetable glycerin.  Mix until you no longer see any clumps of powder.  By dispersing the cocoa powder in vegetable glycerin, you will be able to easily and smoothly mix it into your soap base.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Your Fragrance Oil and ColorantChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Your Fragrance Oil and Colorant

Next, you will need be adding your fragrance oil and colorant.  We will also be adding some vegetable glycerin.  Adding vegetable glycerin will give the soap flexibility so it can be rolled in a later step.  So, when your clear soap is in a liquid state, add 40 grams of vegetable glycerin, the brown cocoa powder colorant you prepared, 40 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, and 40 grams of Natures Garden Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Fragrance Oil.  When you have the ingredients added, mix thoroughly to ensure everything is completely blended.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Pouring Your Brown SoapChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Pouring Your Brown Soap

Once everything is mixed together, you are ready to begin pouring your brown soap.  The brown soap will be poured into the wax paper lined pan you prepared.  So, pour your melted brown soap slowly into your pan.  Once you have poured the soap, spray it with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles.  Then, let the soap setup and remove it from the pan. Set it aside for the moment, you will come back to it in a later step.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Soap FrostingChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Soap Frosting

Now, you will prepare your soap frosting.  Once it is prepared, we will spread it on our brown soap before rolling it up.  In addition, a small amount of the soap base will be placed across the top of the soap loaf to hold the raspberries in place.  The soap frosting will consist of both mp soap and whipped soap base.  By adding melt and pour soap to the whipped soap, it will allow the whipped soap to harden while maintaining a whipped frosting look.  If you added strictly whipped soap base, the whipped soap would remain soft and your soap roll would not stay together.  You will need to move quickly through the next few steps.  The whipped soap, once mixed with the melt an pour soap, will setup pretty fast.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Total Recipe Amounts for the Whipped Soap

400 grams Whipped Soap Base
400 grams Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base
40 grams  Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Fragrance Oil
40 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer
3 drops Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant
2 drops Ultramarine Violet FUN Soap Colorant
6 drops Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant
40 grams Vegetable Glycerin

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Whipped Soap BaseChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Whipped Soap Base

First, you will prepare your whipped soap base.  The whipped soap base is what gives the pink filling the fluffy frosting-like consistency.  So, you will want to prepare your whipped soap in a very deep mixing bowl.  Once you have your bowl out, prepare your hand mixer.  Then, in your deep mixing bowl, weigh out 400 grams of NG’s Whipped Soap Base.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Fragrance Oil and Pink ColorantChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Fragrance Oil and Pink Colorant

Now, before you add your melt and pour soap, you will be adding fragrance oil and pink colorant.  You will also be adding vegetable glycerin.  So, to the bowl with your whipped soap base add 40 grams Vegetable Glycerin, 40 grams Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Fragrance Oil, 40 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer, 3 drops Neon Pink FUN Soap Colorant, 2 drops Ultramarine Violet FUN Soap Colorant, and 6 drops Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant.  Finally, use your hand mixer to blend all of the ingredients.  You will want to continue to mix until you have a fluffing frosting-like consistency.  Set this bowl aside, you will come back to it in just a minute.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your MP Soap BaseChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Prepare Your MP Soap Base

Next, we will be preparing some diamond clear melt and pour soap base.  This soap base will be added to this whipped soap base.  So, weigh out and melt 400 grams if your clear melt and pour soap base in the microwave.  Remember to melt the soap in 30 second intervals.  Once it is in a liquid state we will begin putting our whipped soap base together.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Finishing Your Soap FrostingChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Finishing Your Soap Frosting

The final step in finishing soap frosting is putting everything together.  Remember earlier when I said you would need to move quickly?  This is where it starts.  Once you add your melt and pour soap base to the pink whipped soap, you will need to quickly move so your can create you soap jelly roll before it sets up.  So, at this time, go ahead and add you melted soap to the bowl containing your pink whipped soap.  Then, use a hand mixer to blend it to a whipped soap frosting.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Putting Everything TogetherChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Putting Everything Together

Now, we will begin putting everything together.  You will need everything in front of you.  I highly recommend placing your brown soap on a piece of wax paper or parchment paper.  You will also need the soap raspberries you prepared earlier and your soap frosting.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Your Soap FrostingChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Your Soap Frosting

Your first step will be adding your soap frosting.  You want to spread your soap frosting across the entire surface of the brown soap.  Do this, in the same manner, you would if you were frosting a cake.  However, you do want to leave about 40 grams of whipped soap in your bowl, we will use this portion to top the loaf once it is rolled.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Rolling Your Soap LoafChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Rolling Your Soap Loaf

Finally, you will be rolling your soap loaf.  Place your soap in front of you vertically.  Then, begin rolling the soap like you would a jelly roll.  Once you have rolled your soap completely, remove any extra whipped soap you find along any edges.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Whipped ToppingChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Whipped Topping

Lastly, we will be adding a few finishing touches.  This will include both the whipped soap base and the raspberry embeds.  First, you will need the remaining whipped soap frosting.  If needed you should be able to heat it one time for about 15 seconds so it will be easier to work with.  However, you will only be able to do this one.  Next, spray the top of the rolled soap loaf with rubbing alcohol so that your whipped soap will adhere better.  Then, place the pink soap frosting across the top.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Your Raspberry EmbedsChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Your Raspberry Embeds

Finally, we will be adding your raspberry embeds.  Place the raspberry embeds directly on top of your whipped soap.  I used all but a few of mine but definitely would have had room for all of them had I placed my raspberries closer together.  Go ahead and add your raspberry embeds to your soap loaf.  Then, if need be, use a clean paper towel or cloth to wipe off any extra soap base on the brown soap before moving on.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Your White Chocolate DrizzleChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Adding Your White Chocolate Drizzle

Your very last finishing touch will be adding your white chocolate drizzle.  The drizzle will be created using Natures Garden’s Cocoa Butter Melt and Pour Soap.  The soap base will be scented but uncolored.  This is the final step and is done right before you begin slicing your soap.

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Total Recipe Amounts for the White Soap:

40 grams Cocoa Butter Melt and Pour Soap
2 grams Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Fragrance Oil
2 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer

Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Preparing Your White SoapChocolate Raspberry Drizzle Rolled MP Soap Recipe: Preparing Your White Soap

So, in a small mixing bowl, you will be preparing your white soap.  Weigh out and melt 40 grams of your mp soap base.  Then, 2 grams Natures Garden’s Chocolate Raspberry Drizzle Fragrance Oil and 2 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Then, stir to incorporate the fragrance oil.  Lastly, use a spoon to drizzle your soap loaf.  Allow it to setup, then slice your soap.

I hope that you have enjoyed creating this project with us!  I thoroughly enjoyed creating it for you!  In fact, this is probably my absolute favorite soap I have ever created here at Natures Garden.  I was inspired by an actual food recipe I found on Pinterest.  I will most definitely be creating this raspberry chocolate Swiss roll this weekend.  You must check it out!  If you have already tried it let me know what you think on our Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook page.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap RecipeRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe

Lately, we have been looking to bring the outdoors in with some of our fragrance fun recipes.  Well, this soap recipe does just that.  Our next soap making recipe was inspired by, what else, nature.  Natures Garden is getting back to nature with this tree trunk inspired soap scented with Cracklin Birch Fragrance Oil.  So, read below to find out how we made our Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Some of the Ingredients We Will Be Using

Before we begin, we will talk about some of the ingredients we will be using.  It is important to understand the importance of some of the ingredients in this recipe.  Each item we will be using has a purpose and we will talk about some of these below.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Crackling Firewood Fragrance OilRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Crackling Firewood Fragrance Oil

Cracklin Birch Fragrance Oil by Natures Garden is a masculine arrangement that begins with top notes of herbaceous pine, balsam, and citrus bergamot; leading to middle notes of white flowers and earthy sandalwood; sitting on base notes of woodsy patchouli and violet.  Cracklin Birch Fragrance Oil is one of our best selling candle and soap scents.  It is popular all year long, but is even more popular in the fall and winter months.

Top Notes: pine, balsam, bergamot
Mid Notes: white flowers, sandalwood
Base Notes: patchouli, violet

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Soya Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base

Next, we will talk about the soap base we will be using in this soap recipe.  Our Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe uses Natures Garden’s Soya Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base.  This soap base is wonderful.  It will leave you with a fabulous squeaky clean feeling.  Our soya milk melt and pour soap comes in a two pound slab that has guide lines to help you cut.  In addition,  this base contains no SLS and no added detergents. Of course, none of our products are tested on animals.   Finally, all of our soap bases are gluten-free.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: FUN Soap ColorantsRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: FUN Soap Colorants

First, you should know that the FUN Soap Colorants are simply pigments dispersed in vegetable glycerin.  They are my favorite colorants to work with.  One half ounce of a FUN Soap Colorant will color about ten pounds of soap when used in a white soap base.  The main reason why these are my favorite colorant is because it is so easy to get a nice bright color in white melt and pour soap.  In addition, these soap dyes a perfect in cold process soap.  They come through true to color in any type of soap.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Vanilla White Color StabilizerRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Vanilla White Color Stabilizer

Natures Garden is often asked about Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  So, I thought I would take a minute to talk about our vanilla white.  This is used in a variety of bath and body products, but it is not for use in candles.  When used in a body product, it will help prevent discoloration when it is caused by the vanillin.  While there are a ton of ingredients that can cause discoloration it is most often the vanilla content that causes it.  So, vanilla white will prevent this type of discoloration.  However, it will not prefect discoloration caused by other ingredients.  So, if the fragrance oil does not have a vanillin content listed in the description, do not use vanilla white.

We are also asked about the usage rate and the aroma of the Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  First, our recommendation usage rate for vanilla white is one part fragrance oil to one part vanilla white.  So, in this recipe, we use 58 grams of the Cracklin Birch Fragrance Oil, so we use 58 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  In addition, I would like to mention that yes, the vanilla white does have an aroma to it.  However, we have never experienced a time that the aroma of the stabilizer over-powered any of our fragrance oils.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Glad Press'n SealRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Glad Press’n Seal

Next, let’s talk about the Glad plastic wrap that we used.  Now, we tried a few different methods, including regular plastic wrap to achieve the tree trunk look in our soap.  However, since the plastic wrap is thicker, it worked perfectly.  The Pess’n Seal Wrap creased perfectly and allowed us to create folds in the wrap that looked like tree bark.  The Glad Press’n Seal Wrap can be purchased at your local grocery store.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Vegetable GlycerinRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Vegetable Glycerin

In this recipe, we use vegetable glycerin for our Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe.  We use the vegetable glycerin to make the melt and pour soap pliable.  We will start by pouring the brown soap into a cake pan, then, it will be removed and placed into the mold.  The addition of vegetable glycerin allows us to shape the brown soap, bending it to the shape of the mold without breaking or cracking.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Prior to Starting

Before you begin preparing this melt and pour soap recipe, we recommend wearing protective clothing along with a hair net and gloves.  Also, go ahead and clean your work area and place all of your supplies in the area that you will be working.  Finally, in your bullet bottle, add rubbing alcohol and place one of your fine mist sprayers on top.  Now, you are ready to begin making your tree trunk melt and pour soap.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Cake PanRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Cake Pan

Prior to melting your soap, you will need to prepare you cake pan for your rustic tree trunk soap.  This pan will be used for the brown portion of the soap once it is melted.  So, place your pan in front of you.  Then, cover the bottom of the pan with the Press’n Seal Wrap.  Next, you want to bunch the plastic wrap up a bit.  The goal is to create vertical creases in the wrap.  This is what will create the bark like look in the soap.  Once you have prepared your pan, go ahead and move on to preparing your soap.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Brown SoapRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Brown Soap

First, we will prepare our brown soap.  So go ahead and get your cake pan out.  Then, cut up, weigh, and melt 300 grams Soya Milk Melt and Pour Soap.  You want to melt your mp soap base in thirty second intervals in the microwave until the soya milk soap is in a liquid state.  Make sure you are using a microwave safe dish.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Brown SoapOnce your soap is melted, add 15 grams Cracklin Birch Fragrance Oil.  Then, add your colorant.  You will need to add 7 grams brown oxide FUN Soap Colorant and 4 grams black oxide FUN Soap Colorant.  Mix to incorporate your colorant.  Finally, add 30 grams of your vegetable glycerin.  Stir to fully blend all of your ingredients.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Pouring Your Brown SoapRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Pouring Your Brown Soap

Once your pan is prepared, lined with wrap and your soap is ready, it is time for your brown tree trunk soap to be poured.  So, now, we will be pouring your brown soap.  Place your pan in front of you and pour the melted soap into the cake pan.  You want to fill the about half of the pan.  Then, spray the poured soap with rubbing alcohol to remove any air bubbles that have formed in the soap base from pouring.  Finally, allow the soap to setup before moving on.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Placing Your Brown Soap Into the Round MoldRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Placing Your Brown Soap Into the Round Mold

Once your brown soap has setup, go ahead and remove it from the cake pan.  You will notice that the soap is flexible, this is due to the addition of the vegetable glycerin.  We will trim and shape this to the shape of round loaf mold.  It will need to be the exact size of the mold.  So, trim the soap to the length of the soap mold.  Then, place it inside the round loaf soap mold and press it inside the mold.  You want to make sure that the soap fits tightly in the mold.  Finally, trim the edges of the soap so that it is the same length and width of the soap mold.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe:  Prepare the Cream Colored SoapRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe:  Prepare the Cream Colored Soap

Now, we will prepare the cream colored portion of our soap in our Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe.  This portion will be the remaining portion of the soap.  The cream soap will be poured on top of the brown soap and create the inner part of the tree trunk.

First, weigh out and melt 1162 grams Soya Milk Melt and Pour Soap.  Melt the soap base in the microwave in 30-second intervals.  Melt it until it is in a liquid state.  Be careful not to over-heat the base.

Next, we will color the melted soap.  You will need to add 4 drops Yellow Oxide FUN Soap Colorant.  Then, stir to disperse to colorant.  Now, add the fragrance oil and vanilla white.  You will need to add 58 grams of Natures Garden’s Cracklin Birch Fragrance Oil and 58 grams Vanilla White Stabilizer.  Finally, mix the base to fully incorporate the fragrance oil.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe:  Pouring the Cream Colored SoapRustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe:  Pouring the Cream Colored Soap

Once your soap has been colored to a cream color, and scented with Cracklin Birch Fragrance Oil, it is time to pour the melted soap into the round loaf mold.  Prior to pouring the cream colored soap, you will want to spray the brown layer with rubbing alcohol.  This will help the two layers adhere to each other.  Make sure you spray the previous layer thoroughly.  So, once you have sprayed the brown soap, pour the cream soap right on top.  Finally, once again, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles that may have formed.  Then, allow the soap to setup before moving on.

Rustic Tree Trunk Soap Recipe: Slicing the Soap

Once your soap has setup, you can remove it from your round loaf mold.  Then, go ahead and slice the soap loaf. We recommend using your soap making mitre box and mitre box cutter.  So, place your soap in the mitre box.  Then, use the mitre box cutter to slice your rustic tree trunk soap.  After you have sliced your tree trunk soap, it can be used right away.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Green Soap

We will begin by preparing the green soap. A small amount of the green soap will be used for the confetti portion of the soap. The remaining green soap will be used in the loaf portion of the soap.

First, you will need a dish that is safe for the microwave. In this dish, weigh out 415 grams of Natures Garden’s Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap.  Now, melt the clear mp soap base in your microwave. You will want to melt in 30-second bursts, stirring occasionally.  Continue to melt the soap until all the melt and pour soap is in a melted state.  While you are waiting for the soap to melt, lay out a piece of wax paper.

Next, we will be adding our soap colorant.  Now, add the 10 drops Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant and 2 drops Kelly Green FUN Soap Colorant.  Stir well to completely incorporate the green colorant.  Once all of the soap is colored, add the 17 grams Fruitcake fragrance oil and 17 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Mix to blend the fragrance oil and vanilla white.

Finally, pour about 130 grams of the green colored soap onto your sheet of wax paper.  Alternatively, you can use an extra mold to pour your thin layer like I did.  Spray this soap with rubbing alcohol to eliminate any air bubbles.  Allow this to setup.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare your Green Soap

The remaining green soap will be used for the green portion of your loaf.  So, slowly pour the rest of the green soap into the mold. Then, spray the green soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles you see in your soap loaf. Next, just allow your soap to setup.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare your Green Soap

Once the green soap that was poured on the wax paper has setup, we will begin cutting our confetti.  So, place your soap on a cutting board.  Then, begin cutting the soap into small squares.  Put the cut up soap in a small bowl and set it aside for now.  We will come back to it in just a bit.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare the Red Soap

We will once again use a portion of the soap for the confetti and the rest will be used in the red layer of the soap loaf. So, cut and melt 415 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap in the same manner you prepared the green soap. Once again, while the soap is melting, lay out a piece of wax paper.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare the Red Soap

Now, remove the soap from the microwave and add the 9 drops of tomato red soap colorant, 17 grams Fruitcake fragrance oil, and 17 grams Vanilla White Color Stabilizer.  Stir your soap to completely incorporate the colorant and Fruitcake fragrance oil completely.  Then, pour about 130 grams of the melted red soap onto the wax paper.  Allow the soap that you poured on the wax paper to setup.  You can set the bowl of remaining red soap base aside, we will come back to it.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Red ConfettiChristmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Red Confetti

Next, once the red confetti soap has setup, use a knife to cut the soap into very small confetti like squares.  Once you have cut them, you can place the red soap in the bowl with the green soap.  Then, go ahead and mix them together.  This will make adding it to your soap easier later.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare Your White Soap

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare Your White Soap

Once your green layer of soap has setup completely, you can prepare the white layer.  So, in a mixing bowl, melt 570 grams of Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap Base.  Then, add your Fruitcake fragrance oil and Vanilla White,  Finally, use a spoon to mix the soap.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare Your White Soap

Now, spray your previous green soap layer with rubbing alcohol.  Next, pour the melted white soap directly on top of the green layer.  Then, while the white soap base is still in its melted state, drop half of the red and green confetti into the white soap layer.  Finally, spray the white layer with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles that have formed in the soap.  Allow the white layer to setup before moving on.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Pour Your Red Soap LayerChristmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Pour Your Red Soap Layer

Now we will melt the red soap layer.  Once the white layer has setup, you will need to remelt the red soap base you set aside earlier.  Remember, you want to melt the soap in 30 second bursts only until it is in a liquid state.  Be careful not to overheat the soap.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Pour Your Red Soap Layer

Next, we will pour the top red layer. So, once again, spray the previous white soap layer with rubbing alcohol.  Then, pour the red soap directly on top of it.  Finally, spray the red soap with rubbing alcohol to release any air bubbles.  Allow the red soap layer to setup.

Now, we will be preparing the whipped topping for our soap.  You will need to move rather quickly through the next few steps.  First, in a mixing bowl, weigh out the 150 grams of the Natures Garden whipped topping, 18 grams if the vanilla white, 18 grams of the Fruitcake fragrance oil, and 17 grams vegetable glycerin.  Use a hand mixer to bring the whipped soap base to a whipped frosting consistency.

Christmas Confetti Soap Recipe: Prepare Your Whipped Soap Base

Next, simply place the 150 grams of your Natures Garden Yogurt Melt and Pour Soap in a mixing bowl.  Then use your microwave to melt the soap base.  Melt it to a liquid state, use caution not to overheat the soap.

Once the soap is melted, pour it into the mixing bowl with the whipped soap and the vegetable glycerin.  Begin beating the mixture with a hand held mixer.  When the soap looks like whipped frosting, stop beating.

Next, we will begin topping our soap loaf.  So, using your spoon quickly scoop the soap frosting on top of the soap.  You want it to look like whipped cream on top of the soap.

When all of the soap has been covered with, you can begin adding the confetti.  You will use the remaining red and green confetti to top your whipped cream topping.

Finally, allow your soap to setup completely.  Once your soap has setup, you can use your mitre box and cutter to slice your soap.  Then, your Christmas Confetti Soap is ready to use.  We hope you love it and have had as much fun creating it as we did!
