So, you will need to add 300 grams of the Citric Acid, 600 grams of the Baking Soda, and 10 grams of the Bentonite Clay Powder to this mixing bowl. You will want to mix these powders together and make sure to break up any clumps in the mixture. Although you need to mix well, there will be other ingredients that you will need to mix in, too. So, you can just focus on breaking up all the clumps for now. Also, this process is easier while using a gloved hand.

Dandelion Bath Bomb Recipe: Adding the Dandelion Herbs

Second, we are going to add the cosmetic herbs into our dry mixture. So, take the same medium mixing bowl with your dry ingredients to add these cosmetic herbs

Dandelion Bath Bomb Recipe: Dandelion Leaf Cut and SiftedDandelion Bath Bomb Recipe: Dandelion Leaf Cut and Sifted

First, you will need to add the whole dandelion herb into your cosmetic recipe. So, add in 6 grams of the Dandelion Leaf Cut and Sifted. Second, you will need to add the wholesale herb powder to your cosmetic recipe. You will need to add in 10 grams of the Dandelion Root Powder. Now, you are ready to add the yellow soap colorant to your cosmetic recipe. So, take your mixture of dry ingredients and add 9 grams of the Yellow Oxide FUN Soap Colorant. After, you will need to mix this color in well. You will want to use a gloved hand to fully incorporate the yellow soap colorant into the dry ingredients. Once there are no speckles of color and it has been evenly incorporated, you can set this bowl aside for now.

Dandelion Bath Bomb Recipe: Preparing the Wet Ingredients

You can either measure your wet ingredients directly into your bowl of dry ingredients or weigh them in a separate mixing bowl. If you add them directly to the dry ingredients, then you may want to work a bit faster. But, it should be okay to choose either method. Either way, you will need to weight out 18 grams of the Meadowfoam Seed Oil and 18 grams of the Tiare Flowers Fragrance Oil into one of these two bowls.

Dandelion Bath Bomb Recipe: Combining the Ingredients

After, you will need to fully incorporate the fragrance oil and cosmetic oil into your mixture of dry ingredients. If you already have your ingredients in the same bowl, then simply use a gloved hand to fully incorporate all of these ingredients. Of course, anyone that has weighed out their wet ingredients in a separate bowl will need to combine the ingredients before mixing. Just make sure that your finished mixture looks like it has all the ingredients evenly distributed, as this will be the last time that you need to mix.

Then, you can push the two halves together until the mold snaps shut. Once your first bath bomb is done, you will need to repeat these steps with the rest of your bath bomb dough. This should leave you with about six total bath bombs. Now, you just have to wait for the bath bomb to set up and they will be ready to use! You will know that you bath bomb has set up as it will harden, but the time that it takes can vary depending on humidity levels and climate. What Are Some of the Benefits of Pomegranate?: Growing ConditionsWhat Are Some of the Benefits of Pomegranate?: Growing Conditions

These trees are ideal in climates that are in zone 7-12, which have short winters and low humidity. Also, they prefer areas of full sun. Your pomegranate trees will need about 20 feet diameter to be able to grow into. However, you can trim your tree to keep it more of a shrub size and you will only need about 10 feet. If the winter is too frigid and your trunk was damaged, it is possible to train new suckers to replace the trunk. Although this plant can survive a drought, this will cause a smaller harvest. On the other side, too much water due to over irrigating, heavy summer rain, or high humidity can result in fruits cracking or other problems. Plus, uneven water can result in issues, too. So, you will want to find a perfect balance for watering.

While it is not necessary to prune your tree, it may help increase your harvest. When your pomegranate tree is about a year old, you can prune some of the trunks. You will want to keep somewhere between one and six of these trunks. Since pomegranates naturally grow in bush form, there will be plenty of suckers to choose from. Just be warned with pruning you can reduce your harvest. This is because your harvest will mostly come from new shoots growing off of branches that are older than a year. So, you won’t want to prune all of your new growth.

So let’s begin now with our turmeric face mask! First, we are going to start with the turmeric powder. So, get your scale out. You will also be using a medium sized bowl. Have your scale tared out. Then, go ahead and weigh out 96 grams of your turmeric powder.

Turmeric Face Mask Recipe: Weigh Out the Bentonite Clay PowderTurmeric Face Mask Recipe: Weigh Out the Bentonite Clay Powder

First, let’s talk about Bentonite Clay Powder. Bentonite is a wonderful addition to any face mask! This type of clay, when used in face masks, helps clean impurities from the skin. When used in soaps, bentonite is good at treating oily skin. Also, when used in bath bombs, it helps harden them. In addition, bentonite is useful in thickening lotions.

So, now we are going to weigh out the bentonite. You will add the clay to the same bowl you have your turmeric powder in. Tare out your scale and to the medium bowl, add 224 grams of bentonite clay. Next, mix the two ingredients together until everything seems evenly dispersed.

Turmeric Face Mask Recipe: Add the Vitamin E OilTurmeric Face Mask Recipe: Add the Vitamin E Oil

The next ingredient we will be adding is Vitamin E. Vitamin E from Nature’s Garden comes in the purest form, is also known as Tocepherol T-50. This is not tocopherol acetate (the form found in many vitamin E capsules).   Vitamin E is a wonderful antioxidant and is fabulous for your skin.

For this recipe, we decided to package the powder portion of the face mask and the vegetable glycerin separately. We chose to create the facial mask recipe this way for a couple of reasons. First, creating the facial mask mixture separately without the water you will not need to add a preservative. In addition, you will be able to prepare a quick product for your customers. This recipe can be made in just a few minutes. Each 2 ounce jar will create approximately 4 facial masks.

Turmeric Face Mask Recipe: The Powdered Portion

Now that your powdered portion is complete, you can begin packaging this portion of the facial mask. So, using a spoon, fill each of your 2 ounce white double wall jars and place a lid on each jar.

Turmeric Face Mask Recipe: The Liquid PortionTurmeric Face Mask Recipe: The Liquid Portion

The next part of our recipe is the vegetable glycerin. Vegetable Glycerin is a humectant, meaning, it draws moisture to your skin. So by adding vegetable glycerin to this recipe, your skin will be left feeling soft and hydrated.

Next,we will prepare the liquid portion of the facial mask. Water, while it is an ingredient in the recipe, will not be used until you are ready mix and apply the face mask. So, we will prepare eight 1/2 ounce bottles for the vegetable glycerin. To each bottle, add 12 grams of the vegetable glycerin and cap them with the white ribbed lids.

Turmeric Face Mask Recipe: Using Your Facial Mask

As we talked about previously, by mixing this mask on an as needed basis, it will prolong the shelf life and can be made quickly when needed. With that being said, let’s talk about using the mask. It is really a simple process. Also, if you are selling this mask as a product, you can sell the jar and bottle as a set and label it with instructions.

Starting with the powdered mixture. First, to the small bowl, add about 1 Tablespoon of the powder. Next, you will add about 1/2 teaspoon of the vegetable glycerin to the powder. Finally, you will add 2 Tablespoons of distilled water. Mix this together thoroughly.

Once your ingredients are mixed together nicely, apply a thin layer to your face and kick back and relax for a few. Once the mask has hardened, you can rinse your face off in warm water and see how soft and glowing your skin looks and feels!

As always, Nature’s Garden is here to help keep you beautiful as naturally as possible. So we insist that you treat yourself! Apply a mask, relax with a turmeric hot toddy, a magazine and some quiet music. Let your cares go for a while and allow the turmeric face mask do its job!

Turmeric RecipesTurmeric Recipes

Well, we now know the benefits we can get from turmeric powder on our face. So, how about we take a look at some recipes that we can eat! Just follow this link to Allrecipes.com to see just how many types of dishes turmeric is used in.  There are literally hundreds of recipes that incorporate turmeric in them.  One very popular and well-known way to use turmeric is always curry! Curry is actually not a dish as some people think, but a mixture of many different spices and herbs, turmeric being one of them. The use of the term “curry” is generally limited to dishes prepared in a sauce that is made with the mixture of spices.

Using turmeric in recipes isn’t strictly for savory dishes. Sfoof is a traditional Lebanese dessert cake that uses turmeric. There are also smoothie recipes that use turmeric in them and even in hot drinks that are soothing to your soul.  So as you can see, this spice can be added to any type of recipe, internationally or just in your simple everyday drinks! Some people add it for the taste or color, and there are some people that like the idea of using a natural herb in their diet.

Lavender Face Mask Recipe:  Weigh Out the Lavender Powder

First, let’s talk a little bit about lavender powder.  Lavender flowers powder has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, healing, and toning properties.  So, it is a perfect addition to a face mask recipe.

Weigh Out the Lavender PowderNow, you will need to weigh out the lavender flowers powder.  So, get your scale out.  You will also need your medium size bowl.  Then, use your scale to weigh out 96 grams of your lavender flowers powder.

Lavender Face Mask Recipe:  Weigh Out the Kaolin Clay Powder

Next, let’s talk about kaolin clay powder. Kaolin clay is also known as China Clay.  It is a white clay that is wonderful for those with sensitive skin.  This type of clay is often used to make mineral makeup.  It is used in cosmetic products like foundation, blush, and even eye shadow.  When used in a bath bomb, it helps to harden them.  In this case, there are two reasons we added it to this recipe.  First, it will help harden the face mask when applied to your face.   In addition, like most cosmetic clays, kaolin clay will help clean your skin and help with removing toxins.

Weigh Out the Kaolin Clay Powder
So, go ahead and weigh out the kaolin.  You will add the clay to the same bowl you have added your lavender to.  To your medium bowl, add 224 grams of your kaolin white clay.  Then, mix the two ingredients together.

Lavender Face Mask Recipe:  Add the Vitamin E Oil

The next ingredient we will be adding is vitamin E.  Vitamin E oil from Natures Garden comes in the purest form, this is called Tocopherol T-50.  It is not tocopherol acetate.  Vitamin E oil is an antioxidant and is fabulous for your skin.

For this recipe, we decided to package the powder portion of the mask and vegetable glycerin separately.  We chose to create the facial mask recipe this way for a couple of reasons.  First, creating the facial mask mixture separately without the water you will not need to add a preservative. In addition, you will be able to prepare a quick product for your customers.  This project can be created in just a few minutes.  Each two ounce jar will create approximately 4 facial masks.

The Powdered Portion

Now, your powdered portion is complete.  You can begin packaging your powdered portion of the facial mask.  So, use a spoon to fill each of your 2 oz white double wall jars.  You will be able to create approximately 8 jars of facial mask.

Packaging Your Facial Mask:  The Liquid Portion

First, let’s talk about the vegetable glycerin.  Vegetable glycerin is a humectant.  This means it will draw moisture to your skin.  So, we add vegetable glycerin to the facial mask to help leave our skin moisturized.  It is important because, when using a facial mask, you are using ingredients that draw impurities from your skin.  So, adding vegetable glycerin will help to leave your skin feeling moisturized.

The Liquid Portion

Next, we will prepare the vegetable liquid portion of the facial mask.  While yes, water needs to be mixed to a mask, we will not be adding it at this point.  That will come later when it is time to use your mask.  So, we will prepare eight bottles of vegetable glycerin.  To each of your half ounce bottles add 12 grams of vegetable glycerin.  Then, place a white ribbed lid on each bottle.

Lavender Face Mask Recipe:  Using Your Facial Mask

We talked earlier about packaging our mask.  So, in order to use the lavender mask, you will need to mix it.  As we talked about before, by mixing it on an as needed basis, it will prolong the shelf life and make it a very fast project to create.  With that being said, we will now talk about how you can use the mask.  It really is a simple process.  In addition, if you are selling this mask as a product, you can sell the jar and bottle as a set and label it with instructions.

Next, you will need your bottle of vegetable glycerin.  Then, add about 1/2 teaspoon of your vegetable glycerin to the powder.

Finally, you will add your distilled water.  Ultimately we added about 2 tablespoons.  Lastly, mix to incorporate all of the ingredients together.

Lavender Face Mask Recipe:  Applying Your Facial Mask

Once you have mixed your ingredients together, simply apply a thin layer of the lavender face mask to your face.  Then, relax and allow the lavender mask to harden.  Finally, once the mask has completely hardened, use warm water to remove the clay mask.

Other Ways to Use Lavender:

Natures Garden also carries a variety of other types of lavender as well.  So, let’s take a look at other ways to use lavender in your products.

Lavender Essential Oils and Lavender Flowers

First, let’s look at lavender essential oils.  We carry a couple of types.  First, of course, is our pure lavender essential oil.  Our lavender 40/42 essential oil can be used in a variety of soap and cosmetic recipes.  In addition to soap, you can use it in anything from powder, to lotion to lip balm to hair conditioners.  The sky is the limit.

Lavandin essential oil is next on our list.  For those wondering, “What is lavandin?”, it is a lavender hybrid.  Lavandin does have an aroma that is similar to a lavender essential oil but is not the exact same scent.  It is still a natural and pure essential oil as well.  It can also be used in a variety of soap and cosmetic products.   On a personal note, I especially love this essential oil mixed with peppermint essential oil.  When mixed 2 parts lavandin to 1 part peppermint essential oil, it smells amazingly fresh and clean!

Finally, our whole lavender flowers not only comes in a powdered version, we also carry dried whole lavender flowers.  These can be used infused in lotions, added to bath bombs, or used to create a lavender bath tea just to name a few.

Lavender Fragrance Oil

First, let’s talk about Natures Garden’s Lavender Flowers Fragrance Oil.  This lavender scent is that of true lavender flowers.

Next, on this list of Natures Garden fragrance oils is Lavender Luxury Fragrance Oil.  This lavender aroma starts with notes of lavender, bergamot, eucalyptus, along with citrus zest.  Then, it is followed by notes of lily and sage.  Finally, it sits on base notes of pine, cool camphor, and clove.

Of course, we couldn’t forget to mention Lavender Martini Fragrance Oil.  This one is unique and extremely popular here at Natures Garden, especially it soap.  I would consider this one a must smell fragrance.  To explain this one, think gin meets lavender with an effervescent pop.

Lavender Mint WOW Fragrance Oil is the perfect combination of both mint and lavender.  This lavender scent brings the two together perfectly.  This fragrance oil really is the balance without one overpowering the other.

Fun Lavender Facts:

Now, let’s talk about lavender itself.  Lavender grows wild in Southern Europe, Australia and the United States.  There are many lavender fields that you can actually visit.  Can you imagine visiting one of these farms and begin engulfed in the aroma of lavender?  To find just a few of these fields, read more on the country living website here.

While Natures Garden sells lavender only for use in soap and cosmetic recipes, it is often used in products like smoothies.  Check out these lavender facts and smoothies from Green Blender.

Another reason to love lavender is for its ability to repel insects like flies, fleas, and mosquitoes.  In addition to the fabulous floral aroma of lavender, they are so easy to grow.  It will make a great addition to your flower garden.  They also attract those adorable little butterflies.  Read more from Natural Living Ideas.

Bath Bombs For KidsBath Bombs For Kids

As a parent, I know how difficult it can be to get some kids to take a bath. It can literally become a chore for them and for you. Even if they have the tub filled to the top with toys and bubbles, it can still be just a boring chore for them. And while there isn’t anything wrong with bubbles in the bathtub they can also be boring. How about livening up bath time with a fun bath bomb just for kids? Nature’s Garden has created some Bath Bombs for Kids that will surely make bath time a lot less boring and a lot more fun!

The ingredients used in most of the bath bombs are baking soda: a natural deodorizer that helps keep your skin soft and smooth. Citric acid: this ingredient puts the fizz in any bath bomb recipe and also helps the bath bomb produce foam. Each bath bomb has a different oil used that will help keep little one’s skin soft and hydrated after the fun is over.

Bath Bombs for Kids Camouflage Bath BombBath Bombs for Kids Camouflage Bath Bomb

Bath bombs don’t have to be all girly! This Camouflage Bath Bomb will be a big hit with little boys right off the bat! The cool camo colors of green, tan, brown and black will catch any little boy’s eye right off.  We’ve chosen Deadly Weapon fragrance oil to turn this kid bomb into a big kid bomb! It has a rugged, masculine scent of spice and leather. Tucked inside the bath bomb, though, is a neat little army guy that will appear when the bath bomb has completely dissolved! How neat would these be to create these as a party favor or to just make for any little man in your life?

Bath Bombs for Kids Muddy Pig Bath BombBath Bombs for Kids Muddy Pig Bath Bomb

Muddy Pig Bath Bomb is a totally cute way for kids to jump in the tub to get themselves clean! It’s a bright pink ball with brown, muddy spots all over it, but what’s inside is what gives this bath bomb its name! A tiny, pink toy pig is hiding in the middle, waiting for bath time to be over! We’ve used baking soda, citric acid and apricot kernel oil to keep your little one’s skin soft and smooth. Butterfly Flower fragrance oil is what we chose for this bomb. A light, green floral bouquet with a touch of tang! It’s the perfect scent for any little kid wanting to get clean.

Bath Bombs for Kids Cow Pie Bath BombBath Bombs for Kids Cow Pie Bath Bomb

Cow Pies don’t sound like a good way to get clean! Well, of course, it’s not THAT kind of Cow Pie, but a Cow Pie Bath Bomb! Using the base mix of baking soda, citric acid and apricot kernel oil, your little cowboy or cowgirl will have soft, squeaky clean skin when it’s all said and done. And to keep them in the bath without getting bored a surprise awaits them when the bath bomb has fizzled itself out! A tiny little cow that can hang out in the bathtub with them while they bathe! We chose the fragrance oil Hayride to compliment this farm-inspired bath bomb. A sweet balsam and cedar wood scent to remind you of time spent outdoors!

Bath Bombs for Kids Superman Bath FizziesBath Bombs for Kids Superman Bath Fizzies

Not all bath bombs have to be round in shape. You can mold them into anything or any shape you want! For our Superman Bath Fizzies, we used a mini ice cream scoop and don’t they look just like scoops of Superman Ice Cream? Make sure your kiddos aren’t tempted to take a nibble! With their bright colors of blue, red and yellow they are definitely eye catching! And as they fizzle away in the bathtub, you can smell our Strawberry Soda Pop fragrance oil, that reminds you of fizzy bubbles, strawberries and sugar! This bath fizzie will make bath time a sweet experience!

Bath Bombs for Kids Dinosaur Egg Bath BombBath Bombs for Kids Dinosaur Egg Bath Bomb

I don’t know too many little boys who are not fascinated at some point with dinosaurs. They’re amazing creatures of the past that make some of us happy that they no longer exist. So if you have a little boy or even a little girl that loves dinosaurs, this Dinosaur Egg Bath Bomb would be a perfect bath time treat for them. On the outside, it looks like a dinosaur egg, and each layer reveals a new color as it melts away in the bath water until out pops a baby dinosaur that was waiting to hatch! The fun part is not knowing what kind of dinosaur is hiding inside. Kids can have fun guessing which type of dinosaur will appear before the bath ends! To help give this bath bomb a tropical feel, we chose Bermuda Triangle fragrance oil. An excellent fruity blend of melons and citrus fruit with the sweet tang of McIntosh apples!

Bath Bombs for Kids Fish Toy Bath BombBath Bombs for Kids Fish Toy Bath Bomb

Here’s another fun, hidden toy bath bomb that reminds you of the sea! With it’s bright, neon blue color and candy fish sprinkles on top, this Fish Toy Bath Bomb is a perfect addition to any kid’s bath time! Scented with Mermaid Kisses fragrance oil, your bathroom will smell like a soft, floral underwater playground. When the bath bomb has fizzled out, what kind of surprise is going to pop out? What kind of fish? You’ll have to wait until bath time over to see!

I bet you didn’t think taking a bath at Christmas time could be festive. Well, it can! Not only are these cute Christmas Tree bath bombs fun to have for the kids to use but they would make adorable little stocking stuffers or even a cute addition to a soap and lotion gift basket creation. You can even decorate these bath bombs with some round candy sprinkles for ornaments. We’ve chosen our Kringleberry fragrance oil that has a Christmas-y aroma of spiced oranges, apples and evergreen.

Bath bombs for Kids Cotton Candy Bath BombBath bombs for Kids Cotton Candy Bath Bomb

These fun bath bombs don’t have to be just for the kids. They don’t need to know that mom used one when she was soaking off some stress in a nice hot bath! These Cotton Candy bath bombs are perfect for kids or adults! So simple to make and the Cotton Candy fragrance oil that smells of strawberry and vanilla will fill your bathroom and leave it smelling like a carnival!

Bath Bombs for Kids Peeps Bunny Bath BombBath Bombs for Kids Peeps Bunny Bath Bomb

Now, these peeps are for bathing and not eating! They truly look like the marshmallow treat so warn your kiddos to not take a nibble. To give these Peeps Bunny Bath Bombs an even more realistic appearance, we’ve covered them in sugar to give them the feel of the popular Easter snack! The sugar also makes a nice, natural exfoliate to help keep the skin soft and smooth. We have chosen our Honey Almond fragrance oil that is a delicate, sweet scent of almonds, vanilla and honey.                                                                                              This is a very nice scent for kids.

Bath Bombs for Kids Snakes in the Grass Bath FizziesBath Bombs for Kids Snakes in the Grass Bath Fizzies

This looks almost too cute to use, but if your kid is frustrating about taking baths, bribe them with this fun bath fizzy! Snakes in the Grass Bath Fizzies do not look like your typical bath bomb, but that’s okay! You get the same reaction in your bath water just like you would with a regular bath bomb. We got creative using Hawaiian Black Salt for the dirt and little white candy ball sprinkles added in to make it look more like potting soil! Hawaiian Black Salt also makes a wonderful exfoliator that is both gentle and beneficial to the skin! Even kids’ tender skin! The fragrance oil we chose was Mr. Pepper MD which smells incredibly similar to the always popular soda pop, Dr. Pepper. When it’s bath time, scoop a spoonful of bath fizzy into the water and let the kids soak away! Toss in one of the little, plastic snakes for the kids to play with and when bath time’s over, dry off Mr. Snake and poke him back into the jar!

Bath Bombs for Kids Sugar Plum Bath BombBath Bombs for Kids Sugar Plum Bath Bomb

Here we have one of our newest recipes, our Sugar Plum Bath Bomb! A perfect way to get any little girl to have some tub time! It’s perfectly purple with a little sparkle added to it from diamond dust mica and of course the fragrance oil that inspired it, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. A sweet and spicy blend of plums, cherries, cinnamon and clove! This recipe, however, differs slightly than the others. In addition to baking soda, citric acid and a cosmetic oil, we have incorporated Sodium Cocyl Isethionate or SCI. This ingredient is popular in bubble bars, bath bombs and in shampoos. It is a gentle foaming agent. So, not only will this bath bomb leave your skin soft and silky, it will perform a fizzing and foaming dance in your bath tub!

Bath Bomb for Kids Galaxy Bubble BarsBath Bomb for Kids Galaxy Bubble Bars

This is a fun recipe for young ones and tweens! With the addition of bright neon FUN Soap Colorants and the sparkle of diamond dust, your kids bath time will leave their skin soft with a touch of sparkle!  While it is actually a bubble bar, we thought it was worth mentioning. We’ve used Sodium Cocyl Isethionate, or SCI, in this recipe that let’s your Galaxy Bubble Bar give off some foam for that “bubble” action. We chose Grape Happy Camper Fragrance oil for this recipe that is a sweet, juicy grape scent that will remind you a popular hard candy that you enjoyed as a child!

Bath Bombs for Kids Monster Bath CookiesBath Bombs for Kids Monster Bath Cookies

These Monster Bath Cookies may look like a Halloween sweet treat but try not to let the kids take a nibble! We’ve used cocoa butter in this recipe that will leave the skin soft and nourished. We’ve also used Epsom salts that is very beneficial to the skin, young or old. With some fun edible eyeballs peeking out of the green cookie, your kids will have a blast watching this cookie fizzle and bubble away at bath time! We also used our Magic Potion fragrance oil that gives this bath cookie an extra Halloween boost! It is a fruity blend of peaches, grapes and plums with a touch of rose!

They look so much like Christmas cookies that you may have to put a warning label on them to not consume! These bath cookies have a couple of extra touches added to give you more than a bath bomb! The cookie part is the bath bomb part and the frosting on the cookie is a mixture of whipped soap base and coco butter melt and pour soap! Kind of like you can have your cake and eat it to!
