For instance, our Cold Process Soap Testing Results have revealed that this fragrance oil can be successfully included in this method of creating soap. A batch containing this scent should be soaped at room temperature due to the occurrence of acceleration. While the scent does some acceleration, the batch will have no ricing and no separation. The final product will have an amazing scent retention and the bar will discolor to a dark cream color. If you want to color any of your bath and body products, then we suggest using green liquid soap colorant and yellow liquid soap colorant in the amount you desire.  Remember that you should never use candle dye in any body products.

Our customers can create a variety of room scenting products with this clean fruit scent. Potpourri and incense can both use up to 50% of this scent in their recipes. Any household cleaner can use a maximum of 5% for this fragrance. Also, aroma beads will be nice and strong with this scent. Furthermore, homemade candle crafters can create their products with this fruity fragrance oil. Any candle recipe that uses either vegetable waxes or paraffin wax can include up to 10% of this fragrance oil. Joy wax and wow wax will both perform perfectly for this scent. Also, the aroma will remain nice and strong in products made of soy wax. If you want to color your candle creations, then we would suggest that you use either one drop of green liquid candle dye along with one drop of yellow liquid candle dye or using a small amount of shredded green color blocks and yellow color blocks per four pounds of wax.  Just remember to never use crayons as a substitute for coloring your candles as they will clog your wick.

We hope you enjoy this scrumptious melon and pear scent that is perfect for fruit lovers!

Spring is upon us, finally we can hang our clothes out on the line and enjoy the sunshine.  Country Clothesline Fragrance Oil is the aroma of fresh air, clean linens and sunshine all wrapped up in a bottle.  For me this one takes me back to my childhood.  I remember my mother hanging the clothes out on the clothesline each day.  My favorite days were when she would wash the sheets.  Me, being a kid, I would run right through the sheets and let the scent of clean cotton hit my face.  Looking back, my mom never said a word, even when I ended up pulling the sheets off the line.  My mom had so much patience and just let me be a kid.  This fragrance oils triggers that memory of a carefree childhood and transports me to simpler times.  What memories does Country Clothesline Fragrance Oil bring back for you?

Amish Quilt Fragrance OilAmish Quilt Fragrance – Spotlight

Here we are, talking about the Amish again. Well, here I am again, typing about this interesting group of people who will never see my blog posts. (Again- if you’re Amish and reading this, email me at kross.ngscents@gmail.com and please explain to me how that works.) Another throwback to a simpler time, Amish quilts are handmade and are usually a gift to mark a significant event- a marriage, the birth of a baby, etc. These were traditionally given within the community, but high demand from outsiders (apparently people started snatching Amish quilts right off of clotheslines in the 1970’s) created the need for production of Amish quilts to sell to the population at large. They are still very carefully crafted as if they were for a close personal relative, and the high quality of the materials makes them suitable for both daily use and passing down as family heirlooms. You can use that sucker every day and still give it to your kids, or their kids, or their kids’ kids- that’s how much time, effort, love, and quality is packed into these babies. True to form, individual Amish or Mennonite women only make one or two of these quilts a year (and people were STEALING them! HOW RUDE!) Wrap yourself in the warmth of a homey handmade quilt by using this fragrance in your favorite products.

What Does Amish Quilt Fragrance Smell Like?

This fragrance is the tender sun-kissed florals of heliotrope and jasmine, softly blended with woody violet and herbaceous anise to create a cozy scent of pure comfort.

How Do Our Customers Use Amish Quilt Fragrance Oil?

For candle making, Amish Quilt fragrance performs perfectly in joy wax, wow wax, and is nice and strong in soy wax. The maximum recommended usage percentage in vegetable waxes and paraffin wax is 10%. Amish Quilt fragrance IS gel wax compatible! For coloring your candles, we recommend using four drops of teal liquid candle dye or a small amount of shredded teal color block per four pounds of wax. Why teal? I dunno, man, don’t ask me- I just work here. But if I had to take a guess I would say it’s because teal is a calming color and this is a comfy, cozy scent. Amish quilts come in all kinds of crazy colors so I say use which ever colors you want! Make crazy patterns if you feel so inclined, as long as it’s made with love.

For soap making, the maximum recommended usage percentage in bath oils, soaps, bath gels, and cleaning products is 5%. Amish Quilt fragrance performed well in bath & products and our cold process soap testing results show no ricing, no separation, no acceleration and no discoloration. Coloring recommendations for soap are also teal. Use teal soap dye to your heart’s content.

Amish Quilt fragrance performed perfectly in perfumes, and the maximum recommended usage percentage for lotions and perfumes is 5%.

For room scenting, the maximum recommended usage percentage is 50% in incense and potpourri. Amish Quilt fragrance is nice and strong in aroma beads.

Katie's Favorite ScentsKatie’s Favorite Scents: Katie Smells

Today I visited our store on the southwest corner of Whitehead and Route 18. We have over 800 fragrance oils at our fragrance bar, and I smelled every one. Every. Single. One. All for you, dear reader. So I could tell you about my top ten favorite scents – Katie’s Favorite Scents. (I’m Katie; hi!)

BACONBacon

I bet you can figure this one out. We have a fragrance oil that smells like sweet, savory baconIt doesn’t smell like REAL bacon, I’ve heard people say, but it comes pretty darn close. The only way it could smell more like “real” bacon is if it were an actual bottle of bacon grease. But who’s using bacon grease to make soap or candles when you can use bacon grease for BACON?! Man, I really want some bacon. If you want soap or candles that smell like bacon- this is your best bet.

Berry Bewitching BrewBerry Bewitching Brew

Fun to say, even more fun to smell. Berry Bewitching Brew is full of fruity fragrances that are not overpowering- a hint of woodsy musk serves to balance the scent. Fruits in this fragrance include peach, apricots, and blackberries. This scent makes me think of a secluded house near the woods with the windows open. Perfect to use in homemade soap or candles if you have such a house. Or if you don’t, you can let it transport you to a place of peace. Almost like magic.

Iced PineappleIced Pineapple

Speaking of clean, fruity smells, how about some pineapple? All the smell of fresh pineapple without having to do all the work of cutting an actual pineapple. It may seem a little tropical or summery, but this scent smells great year round – like a vacation for your nose! This is another one of those mouth-watering scents that you’ll just want to bite into–but please don’t. If you feel so compelled, go out and by fresh pineapple, or canned pineapple.

Pumpkin Apple ButterPumpkin Apple Butter

Let’s face it, unfortunately, summer is over for soap-makers and it’s time to start making soap that will cure by the Fall. Fret not, readers – I have found yet another delicious scent, but this one embodies autumn: Pumpkin Apple Butter. Do you like making baked goods with pumpkin? How about apple? How about butter? How about the smell of those delicious treats together?? No need to stick your head in the oven, this scent smells just like Grandma’s kitchen during dessert on Thanksgiving.

NG Baby Graceful TypeNG Baby Graceful Type

As a former professional sitter, lemme tell you, babies do not always smell great. In fact, they rarely do, if ever. NG Baby Graceful Type smells like the babies that dreams are made of. It’s fresh and clean with a hint of fruit and sweetness. And look at how cute that baby is in the photo. She’s a butterfly princess! What a sweetie. This fragrance will make you forget that real babies are loud and smelly, and instead invoke thoughts of cherubs who help you with housework. Can you imagine if real babies did that?

Smoke EliminatorSmoke Eliminator

Okay, so this one doesn’t have the most flowery or imaginative name, but it smells great. Smoke Eliminator fragrance oil is loaded with lemon and lime to give you a fresh fruit scent. Like a refreshing lemon-lime soda. Even if you don’t need to eliminate the smell of smoke, a fragrance this strong could help clean air against other odors as well (wet dog? smelly cat? stinky babies?).  I’d call this another mouth-watering scent, but the cigarette in the picture is kind of ruining it for me. Don’t eat cigarettes.

SpearmintSpearmint

Alright, reader. I’m going to level with you. I chose most of these scents because they hold a position near and dear to my heart. I love spearmint. Once upon a time, a certain company used to make bite-sized mint candies, and I would eat at least a pack a day. I cannot get enough mint. Spearmint helps stimulate brain function, circulation, and can even work to provide relief from digestive and menstruation issues. Plus, it smells nice and clean. Cooling, relaxing.

RootbeerRootbeer

Speaking of sweet treats that I once was obsessed with- ROOTBEER! This fragrance oil smells just like the real thing. Or- like the bacon fragrance oil- as close as possible to the real thing without actually being the real thing. Mmm. A nice, vanilla-y scent, this smell takes me back to when I consumed any and all things rootbeer-related. My younger sister was mistakenly under the impression that rootbeer was alcoholic and thought I indeed had a serious problem. (If you’re looking for the smell of actual beer – we have that, too.)

NG Vanilla Lace and PearlsNG Vanilla Lace and Pearls

We have got plenty of vanilla-scented fragrance oils, but NG Vanilla Lace and Pearls is by far my personal favorite. As a child, I had a body spray that smelled very similar to this scent. I had one bottle and I saved it for only the most special occasions. This was the scent of the woman I wanted to be: a princess. Look at that picture – sweet and delicate yet refined and beautiful. Warm vanilla with a hint of sweet flower and musk. We also have a Princess Type fragrance oil, but I personally prefer lace and pearls.

Moonlight PomegranateMoonlight Pomegranate

Okay, so Moonlight Pomegranate reminds me of the body spray I preferred as a teen. More sexy, more mysterious, accentuated by the moonlight. Wildly inappropriate in context, but as far as the person you aspire to smell like, not bad at all. This scent is fruity yet spicy and even a little woodsy. Like eating a pomegranate in a moonlit clearing in the forest. Don’t believe me? Go try it during the next full moon. Wear a silky, dark red dress. Sweet, sexy, mysterious.
