Before you begin creating your colorful bubble bar you are going to want to prepare a few things. First, you should make sure that your work space is clear and clean. This will ensure that you have plenty of room to work. Also, you should have all your equipment is clean and ready to use. Just a simple wash will help to prevent dust or dirt from getting into your recipe. Further, it may help to have all of your equipment and supplies nearby. This will make it easier to create your craft, as you won’t have to go far to find what you need.

First, you are going to need to measure all of the dry ingredients for this recipe. You will need a large mixing bowl and a gram scale. Then, weigh 460 grams of baking soda, 410 grams of sodium cocoyl isethionate, 224 grams cream of tartar, and 72 grams of corn starch. After all your ingredients have been added you will need to mix it all together. Also, you should try to break up any clumps.

Next, you are going to combine all of the wet ingredients for this bubble bars. You will need to add these to your large mixing bowl with the dry ingredients. You can either weigh these ingredients into a separate bowl first or weigh everything directly into the mixing bowl. So, you will need to add 200 grams of the vegetable glycerin, 24 grams of the safflower oil, and 14 grams of the Rain Fragrance Oil to the mixture.

Now that both wet and dry ingredients are included, you can begin mixing your dough. You will need to make sure that you break up any clumps and continue until you have the right consistency. If you don’t get a doughy consistency after mixing everything together well, then you can add a bit more vegetable glycerin. You can tell that you need more when the dough is crumbly. However, you want to be careful not to add too much, as it will not set up properly when it is too wet.

After everything has been mixed together you are going to separate the batch into five equal portions. You can eyeball the amounts, but you should have about 280 grams of the dough in each of the five mixing bowls.

Now that your dough has been separated you can grab one of these portions to color. After both of these colorants have been added you will need to use your gloved hands to mix the color in evenly. After you have a bright red hue throughout this portion you can roll it into a ball and set it aside for now.

Next, we are going to create the orange portion of this recipe. So, grab one of the unused mixing bowls to add 10 drops of the Neon Orange FUN Soap Colorant. Then, you will need to use gloved hands to fully incorporate the soap colorant. After all the color is evenly distributed roll the dough into a ball and set this portion aside.

Now, we are going to mix up the yellow portion of this recipe. Grab one of the uncolored portions of the bubble bar. Then, you will need to add 5 drops of the Neon Yellow FUN Soap Colorant. You will need to mix the color into the batch until it is evenly distributed throughout the entire portion. Then, you can roll up the yellow dough and set it aside.

Then, we will need to mix the green portion of the batch. So, retrieve one of the two remaining uncolored portions. You need to add 5 drops of the Neon Green FUN Soap Colorant to the bowl. After you add your colorant to the batch, you will need to mix everything together. So, use your gloved hand to evenly disperse the color. Once you are finished, you can roll this into a ball and set it aside for now.

Finally, we are going to create the purple portion of our bubble bar. So, grab your last uncolored portion of the recipe. You will add 5 drops of the Deep Purple FUN Soap Colorant. Now, mix the colorant into the batter using your gloved hands. Once the color is even in the dough you can roll it into a ball and set aside.

Now that are the layers are colored we are going to need to get ready to roll everything. You will either need a silicone mat or a piece of parchment paper. Next, lightly dust the mat or paper with some baking soda. This will help keep your bubble bar from sticking as you pick up and roll the layers.  You also should dust your rolling pin with baking soda so the dough doesn’t stick to that either.

Just like a real rainbow, we are going to have the red on the outside. So, grab your ball of red dough from its bowl. You can set this dough ball in the center of your sheet or mat. Then, roll the ball into a flat, rectangle shape.  Also, make sure that you leave this layer about a quarter inch thick. Remember that as you add more layers this initial layer will continue to get thinner.

Next, we are going to add the orange layer to the bubble bar. So, take your rolled up orange ball of dough. Place this orange ball right on top of the previous layer. Roll the orange layer to match the shape of the red layer. You don’t need to be exact, but make sure that you have a similar shape and are near the edges.

Now, you are going to create the yellow layer of your bubble bar. You will need to take the rolled up yellow portion and place it on the orange layer. As you can see, we didn’t have a rolling pin available and got creative. You can use a rolling pin effectively, but we used our 16 oz bottle of Safflower Oil to roll our dough. Either way, you will need to roll the yellow similarly to the previous layers.

Then, you will be ready to create the green layer for your bubble bar recipe. You will need to take the green ball of dough and add it to the center of your yellow layer. Now, you will need to roll out this green layer until it is about the same shape and nearly at the edges.

Finally, you are going to add your purple layer to your bubble bar. So, place your ball of purple to the center of the previous layer. You will need to roll out this layer similarly to the other layers. While blue would’ve gone between the green and purple layers, we were worried about adding too many layers. Since every added layer will make the layers beneath it thinner, we didn’t want stretch the layers too thin. If you would like you can try to include this layer, but you are going to need to be super careful with rolling your layers.

Now that all your layers are added, you are ready to roll them into a loaf. So, turn your layers so that the mat or paper is vertical. Then, take the edge that is closest to you and slowly roll the dough the same way that you would wrap up a jelly roll. Be careful to roll the dough evenly as you go to make sure that it is lined up.

Lastly, you will need to slice your bubble bar loaf into individual bars. You will want each one to be somewhere between 1 and 2 inches thick. So, you should end up with about 8 slices. But this can vary slightly depending on the thickness of your slices. After all of your loaf has been sliced you will need to let the bubble bars set up. Simply separate the slices a bit and let them sit in one place for some time. This process can take between 48 and 72 hours. This time will vary based on your climate, but you will be able to tell that your batch has completely set up because they will become hard.

Once your bubble bars have set up they will be ready to use! All you have to do is crumble one under some warm, running bath water. Then, you will be all set for a fun rainbow bath.

Before you start, we would like to suggest that you make a few preparations. A pair of gloves is recommended, as you will need to mix with your hands. An apron may be useful to protect your clothing.  Also, a hair net and face mask are recommended. Second, you are going to want to prepare all your ingredients and supplies for this recipe. This will ensure that the project runs smoothly and you have all the materials that you need. Finally, you should clean your work space and equipment to make sure that your recipe will be clean and free of dirt.

First, we are going to combine all of your dry ingredients into one of your mixing bowls. So, get a medium or large mixing bowl ready. Also, you will need a gram scale in order to measure these ingredients. Then, to your bow,l weigh out 460 grams of the Baking Soda, 410 grams of the Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, 224 grams of the Cream of Tartar, and 72 grams of the Corn Starch.

So, lets get started on creating the fun half of this bubble bar recipe!

Now, you are going to prepare the other half of your bubble bar dough. So, take this second half and add in three drops of the Tomato Red FUN Soap Colorant. This amount is perfect for giving us a pretty shade of pink for this layer of the bubble bar. You will need to use your gloved hands to mix this color into the dough evenly. You will want to want sure that you don’t have any specks of dye left unincorporated.

Now that this portion is colored, you will need to finish up this half of the batch. First, you are going to add in the Himalayan Pink Salt to your dough. So, weigh out 10 grams of the fine ground pink salt. Make sure that you mix this ingredient into the dough very well. Once all of the fine pink salt has been incorporated you can roll the dough into a ball. Now, you are ready for the next step in the process.

Next, you are going to be rolling out the dough. Before you start you are going to want to lay down either a silicone mat or a piece of parchment paper. This will be used to roll our bubble bar once we have made our layers. Then, you will need to sprinkle this mat or paper with a bit of baking soda. This will make sure that your bubble bar is easy to roll and doesn’t stick to your mat or paper.

Our outside layer is going to be the pink portion, so you will need to roll this portion out first. You will need to use a rolling pin to flatten out this bubble bar dough. Try to roll the dough into a rectangular shape. Also, you will want the dough to be about a quarter inch thick.

After your first layer has been rolled out, you are ready to flatten out the second layer. So, take your uncolored dough ball and place it right on top of the pink layer. Now, flatten this layer out to match the rectangular shape of the first layer. You will be finished once the layers are about the same thickness and size. But, you don’t need to be exact. The slight imperfections will add to the uniqueness of each bubble bar!

Now that your two layers have been made you are ready to roll your bubble bar loaf. So, turn your parchment paper of silicone mat vertically, as shown to the right. Next, you will lift up the edge that is closest to you. You will need to begin to roll the dough onto itself. This process is similar to how you would wrap a jelly roll or pumpkin roll. You will want to go slowly as you roll and continue until all of the dough has been rolled into the loaf.

Once the bubble bar loaf has been created, you are ready to start decorating the top of your bath and body product. Part of the decorating will be done with Coarse Ground Himalayan Pink Salt. You will be sprinkling the top of the loaf with the coarse ground pink salt. You should need about 20 grams of this for the top, but you can use more or less as you see fit. Also, you will need you slightly press the sprinkled pink salt into the top of the loaf. Otherwise, the pink salt will be likely to fall off easily and you will lose all of your pretty shades of pink salt.

The other ingredient that you will use to decorate is mica dust. This lovely powder is perfect for creating a bath and body product that shimmers and shines. For this recipe you will use both the 24k Gold Mica Pigment and the Diamond Dust Mica Pigment. Liberally sprinkle the top of your loaf with each mica powder. After, use a craft brush to remove any excess mica. Dusting off the mica will make sure that your bars don’t have streaks of gold mica after you slice your bars.

Now you are ready to slice your bubble bar loaf into pieces! We suggest making each bar somewhere between one inch and two inches. This will make sure you have enough for each bath. Depending on the thickness you choose, you will have about eight individual bubble bars.

Once your slices have been made all you have to do is wait for your bars to set up. Based on how long our bubble bar took, it should take about 48-72 hours, or 2-3 days, for your bubble bars to completely set up. However, this can take longer depending on your climate. You will know that your bars are ready to use when they have hardened.
